Although it is close to the busy Sanjo Shopping Street, it is a rare “quiet place in the city”. At night, you can enjoy authentic Kyoto cuisine nearby, or prepare for the next day at the 24-hour convenience store. When you return to Kyomachiya, you will find a quiet world isolated from the outside world, a perfect place to relax. Reikaku Yasaka | Gion | Historical Machiya

Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka. The result is Japanese craftsmanship at its best and we are very proud to be able to share the result with the rest of the world. Check our other house as an alternate option @ Reikaku Kiyomizu-Gojo

kyoto villa soso (Near Kyoto station)

The house was an Ochaya (literally "tea house")before and we renovated it, which is an establishment where patrons are entertained by geisha. We kept the original structure and make it much more modern and comfortable. The river in front of the house is the must-see in Kyoto changing from cherry bloom to maples. The best location near Gojo bridge and Kiyomizuーgojo sta. can make it very convenient to all the famous spots.

Kumomachiya Kotako is located near Shijo Karasuma, Kyoto's busiest shopping district.
