Nestled on the Sutherland coast in the Scottish Highlands, Lochinver is a picturesque village and fishing port boasting dazzling beaches, mountain trails, and scenic drives. The area’s famous landmark, Suilven mountain, bears a striking geological formation as it looms over the coastal town. There’s an advanced hiking trail that brings you to the summit, but for a less demanding option, the River Inver and Glencanisp Circuit provide spectacular views, and Culag Woods offer a network of paths that wind through the dense woodlands. Panoramic coastal drives, including the drive to Achiltibuie and the Drumbeg Loop to Unapool, are popular ways to take in Lochinver’s landscape.

Running along the eastern end of Lochinver is the town’s main street, where you’ll find local shops, cosy cafes, and restaurants serving pies and fresh seafood. The village’s bustling harbour, which supports a busy fish market, is at the southern end. Lochinver’s location makes it a great starting point for exploring nearby coastal communities, including Inverkirkaig, Clachtoll, Stoer, Drumbeg, and the rest of the northwest Highland.
