The Priory

The Priory is an impressive former Gentlemen’s residence, which dates back to 1864 and has been lovingly restored as superior apartments. Set in a tranquil cliff top area of Shanklin, the apartment features stunning uninterrupted panoramic sea views. The impressive apartment boasts a master double bedroom, with ensuite bathroom, twin second bedroom and also a family bathroom. The open plan living area includes leather sofas with a home cinema and music system with LCD TV, HD DVD/CD player, Freesat, mobile/tablet jack and radio tuner, with speakers and controls in all bedrooms and bathrooms, and dining area. It also includes the granite finished kitchen, which features an integrated dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave. From the living area, there are French doors that open out to the spacious decked area, where you can sit, relax and soak up the spectacular scenery. There is also over 2 acres of woodland gardens, complete with winding paths, beautiful plants, play and seating areas. Surrounding The Priory is National Trust and farmland, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and many coastal walks, all waiting to be explored. Just five minutes walk away is the Old Village, with the famous thatched cottages and a selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants, and the main town centre following afterwards. Finally, it is just a few minutes from the cliff top and Esplanade with its sandy beaches.

The house name The View is so called because everyone coming in for the first time says “Oh The View”! This property is ideal for walkers or cyclists as it sits just off the coastal path and is also close to the bridle path leading up to the Downs. There is a bus stop at the end of the lane for easy access to the rest of the Island. The accommodation is 15-20 minutes walk to several different beaches and 15 minutes walk to a number of restaurants pubs and eateries.
