Villa Affresco dates back to 1700 and over the years has been completely renovated as a prestigious residence. The furnishings are partly antique and those that are not are inspired by the original era of the villa, which is spread over three floors, each of which opens onto a large, elegantly furnished panoramic terrace.
The space
On the outskirts of the small seaside Italian town Positano, in a particularly hilly stretch of the Amalfi Coast, lies a luxury property Villa Affresco. This massive three-floor estate, has seven rooms for groups with no larger than fourteen guests. The villa has a uniquely elevated position on the periphery of Positano so that nearly the whole town can be seen at once from the estate’s massive terraces. Adorned in an alluring combination of classical antiques and rustic agrarian charms, Villa Affresco is for those who wish to have an authentic Mediterranean experience.
The original building is over three centuries old, though Villa Affresco has since been renovated to meet the needs of today’s discerning travelers. The villa has both security gates and an alarm system to make it secure. Wi-Fi access is found throughout the home, alongside other electronic conveniences. The estate’s terraces are among its most powerful draws, where one can find the swimming pool, outdoor showers, bar, barbeque and alfresco dining and lounging areas.
From the outside, Villa Affresco has a coral, almost pastel-toned facade, worn from the passing of the years, though the interior has been recently renovated. A minimalist color scheme throughout the living and dining areas, sprinkled with stylish furnishings and objets d’art promote a sense of calm and collectedness. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and is perfect for preparing fantastic meals for any sized group and occasion.
Each of Villa Affresco’s seven plush bedchambers are air conditioned and have a full en-suite bathroom stocked with toiletries. Additionally all suites come with a large double bed, with the exception of one room having a single. One very unique feature of the bedrooms are the beautifully painted ceilings done in the quadratura style, which has the effect of opening up the room and also adds an air of style belonging to the Renaissance era.
Villa Affresco is conveniently located within walking distance to the stores, restaurants and beach areas of Positano. One of the town’s main sights include the church of Santa Maria Assunta which features a dome made of majolica tiles as well as a thirteenth-century Byzantine icon of a black Madonna. Also unique to Positano is L'Albertissimo, an alcoholic tipple that can only be only found at a small stall in the main harbour. Viva la dolce vita!
