“I really enjoyed my Cayuco experience. The place is stuck on the river. The 2-storey house is surrounded by vegetation. It feels really good. I spent 3 weeks here in order, among other things, to improve my Spanish. Cayuco and the rest of the family speak just a little bit of English. The exchanges were done in Spanish. Cayuco is extraordinarily patient. I learned a lot from him. We made some beautiful trips: walk up the river, visit the playa esmeralda, visit Sabana de la Mar and the National Park Los Haitises by boat (visit islands and caves). I did not have a car and here everything is close. The beautiful Arriba beach is only 10 min. walk, just like the grocery store. If you are looking for a place away from tourists, you will love it. Often, I had the beach for me alone. There is a really great restaurant near the beach called Coco Loco where I often went. It is also possible to cook at home. The only small point to improve is the wifi (not always available). Also, if you stay more than 2 days, the breakfasts are not included but there is always fruit since fruit trees grow on the ground. If I come back to the Dominican Republic, I will definitely go through here again.”

“Location is totally secluded and therefore you and your family can enjoy the ocean to yourselves! WiFi/Hot spot is hit or miss so if work is a must, you should look into other options for internet just incase. We played cards, dominoes enjoyed a bonfire and talked at night. Hans was on point about replying to all of my questions right away, picked us up from the airport and guiding us to his place and suggesting meals, sights etc. Hans suggested that we fly into Punta Cana because it’s the closest airport to the home, but We flew into Las America’s in D.R. because of the many choices and travel times. We had family flying in from different parts of the country and therefore the many choices for flight times work better for us. That said, the drive from Las Americas airport to the property takes approximately 2 1/2 hours while from Punta Cana it’s approximately 1 1/2 hour. Because the house is on the ocean, I would suggest renting a 4x4 if your plans are to rent a vehicle. You literally have to drive about 1/2 miles on the sand to get to the house. Most folks will just leave it parked on the property and not use the vehicle much, but I wanted to explore some and were there for 8 days. Isabella, Elliott and Ari are the staff on hand to make your stay great. They bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable, satisfied and well fed! Fresh fruit, bread and coffee every morning and just tell them what you want for lunch and where you would like to have it served. Fresh fish At their dining room table which seats 12, in the covered terrace or right on the ocean! In a nutshell, I would recommend this to anyone that just wants to get away from the daily grind, soak up the sun and be waited on during your stay. Thank you Hans, Isabelita and everyone else for making our family vacation a great one.!”
