Eri was so beautiful! So helpful and the way she showed us around the home and her attention to detail was phenomenal! I even asked to stay an extra day because kyoto became my favorite place in all of Japan! Coming to Japan i was a bit disappointed with Tokyo, but i am so grateful for Koji and Eris gorgeous home and their recommendations. We rented kimonos and spent the whole day visiting local shrines and temples, all within walking distance. It was such an amazing experience. I will be coming back next year and am going to spend my entire vacation in Kyoto. Hopefully I will be able to stay at Tsubara house again!

Great deal for those with large groups visiting Osaka! The Castle is very spacious and clean in both the individual rooms and the shared spaces, we had 11 people and there was still plenty of space. The location is in a quiet neighborhood but still within a 10/15 min walk to two metro stations that can take you anywhere you’re going in the city. There are also many shops and restaurants within walking distance, including a 7/11 right around the corner! Overall great experience at this location.

Great Machiya stay with a traditional feel, but with modern amenities such as heated floor! Also perfect location to explore Kyoto. Tokuji san was always very responsive during communications. Overall, highly recommended!

We came in April — 8 of us. This space was just perfect for our families. We especially loved the quaint neighborhood location. What a secret gem. We are all left wanting to move to Kyoto. Thank you for hosting us!

This spot feels like home away from home. Easy access to public transportation, lots of shopping & restaurant options, plenty to see & do right in the area. The home is tucked away on a side street in a residential area that’s quiet & safe. Only thing to note is the three bedrooms upstairs are connected with one way in / out but each room has a door that closes for some privacy. And both toilets are downstairs.

The location is fantastic — just a stone’s throw from the metro, and only 10 minutes to the city center. We really liked the area because it feels local and authentic, not touristy at all. The house is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and full of natural light. Niko is lovely and very thoughtful, which made our stay even better. If I had to mention something, a few things felt a bit worn, and the place wasn’t completely spotless, which we expected. But honestly, it didn’t affect our stay. I still totally recommend it and would definitely come back!

Our family of four recently stayed at Yamano Kyoto Residence for five nights during our first visit to Kyoto, and Yamano and his wife truly made our trip unforgettable. The house is exactly as described—spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities to make us feel at home. Its convenient location near the train station and bus stop made getting around effortless. The host's prompt and attentive responses to our questions were greatly appreciated. We have a lot of equipment, condiments, etc. You can kindly check it in advance. I had a really good time.

The single-family home has a large and cozy space.We arrived late on the day we checked in (more than 10 pm) but didn't expect the host to be waiting for us, and for us to carry our luggage and piercing about the facilities in the house.The house is fully equipped with children's toys and books, a lot of shopping and eating information near the house, the bedroom is comfortable and equipped with charging plugs, the stairs are also equipped with a small night light for the night, and there is a non-slip carpet, and there are towels and hands in the bathroom.There is also a car space for self-driving people.Unexpectedly, there was a welcome letter, which was really sweet.Very good value for money, perfect for the size of a family, will have the opportunity to stay again and also to friends and family who intend to visit Osaka.The host couple also delivered in person when they left!

Obviously Jinn has a lovely home, but he is also an extremely gracious host. He was available to answer any and all questions and made us feel right at home in his space. The location is a serene and peaceful neighborhood which allowed us to enjoy parts of Kyoto we otherwise would have missed, while still being close to main attractions. I would recommend anyone to stay here, amazing experience.

This is my first time coming to Japan, because two days I can meet the most lovely yumi and harufumi in haruya is the best experience of this trip, this house and the owner and all the people I meet are different, warm and sincere, you can feel it from their smile, and it is very fortunate to join their yoga activities, so I know new friends, by the way, and cute lily, this is amazing! The details of the house are more sensible of the level of care of yumi and farufumi, where you can hear the sound of stream water, the sound of the leaves wiggling, all kinds of insects chirping in the late night, really letting the time slow down, if there will be a chance I will bring my favorite person to come again!

A beautiful home in a nice area of Kyoto conveniently located in close walking distance to bus stops and supermarkets. It was lovely to meet Toshiko who met us for checkin to show us around (& has spent time in our home city of Adelaide, South Australia). There is a distance to Namba Station, but you can go to Sakuragawa Station within 10 minutes on foot and take the train within 15 minutes, and transportation is inconvenient, but it seems like a good value because it is such a cheap accommodation. Basically, there are two bedrooms, and the living room and kitchen are clean, so I had a good time. The bedroom has to take the stairs, but the slope is high, so it can be a little difficult to accommodate children or elderly people. However, it is basically well-equipped with amenities, so I had a comfortable stay.

The home is very special and unique. We are a family of two adults, a 16yo and 8yo. We all loved the home traditional aspects of the home with modern appliances. Even though the home is nestled into a neighborhood, it is a short walk to the gorgeous river, a huge grocery store and a little further are bus stops and train stations. The bikes were such a gift and we enjoyed using them. Although we didn't use them, it was thoughtful to have rain jackets and umbrellas available. Hiroe met us promptly even after a time change with little notice. She was efficient and thorough in her directions. We felt grateful to stay in such a lovely and comfortable home.

I recently stayed at Saito’s place and had a wonderful experience! The check-in process was smooth and easy, and communication with the host was prompt and helpful throughout my stay. The place was thoughtfully furnished, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable visit. The location was perfect — close to one of the attraction, restaurants, and subway station, yet peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep. The say was superb. It was spacious, cozy and clean in a quiet neighbourhood, just minutes from public transport, restaurants, and shops. Perfect for families looking for a place where the entire family can stay together. My kids, two toddlers, had great fun in the play room!

For our dream trip to Japan, we stayed at Yumi's place to experience a traditional Japanese home, but with modern amenities. Just a reminder that the doorframes are low, and my 6 foot 3 in (192 cm) tall father hit his head a few times. The stairs to get to the second floor were also quite steep, so it could be difficult for larger luggage. We really enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend staying here.
