Holiday rentals with a kayak in Nelson County

What a unique experience! An old schoolhouse turned home. The windows were breathtaking, the master bathroom was an open layout and huge! There was lots of Elise’s artwork and pottery around. The sun glistening on the pond was beautiful this morning, and it was nice and quiet. There were fresh eggs, cracker jacks, apples, and granola. There’s restaurants nearby, but yet the place is tucked away for the serenity. Will totally return! Thank you Elise!

We visit the Wintergreen Resort often and this has to be the best view we’ve ever had in a rental there….Just stunning, breathtaking, and magnificent ……You can see for miles and miles and miles…The sunrises we saw every morning were to die for….Dave & Rebecca were on point in communicating with us….the downstairs primary ensuite was AMMMMMAAAZING….they painted the walls a dark grey and it looks so classy and quite bougie…lol….and as someone else said…those room darkening shade really do their job..we have a really nice mattress in our bedroom at home…the one we slept on felt equally as nice and comfy….Loved it!!! Always love rentals that allow you to bring your 4 legged family member….and we thank you for allowing us to….He loved it…(8 degrees up there this morning and all he wanted to do was hang out on the deck!!!! Crazy dog! 🤪). We didn’t use the second bedroom but it looked nice too….You won’t be disappointed with this Ledges Condo…it will be your best choice for sure! Cheers!

We spent a few days after Christmas with our extended family here, 7 total people. Lots of space to spread out and it never felt crowded. Three full bathrooms was great. The walk down to the river is steep, both down and up, and might be tough for some people as well as many steps within the house. This was not an issue for us at all, but wanted to make others aware. We had a great time at the property and local breweries. Don’t miss the meadery that does honey flights! Mary Stuart was awesome to plan with- most helpful host ever. Thanks for these special Christmas memories! Only thing missing was snow.

I loved the place, excellent location right in front of the river. They didn't say that we were going to have a doggo visiting us during our stay so it was a very nice surprise. The neighbors were very friendly.

Loved staying here! It's a great property for big groups. The deck on the back is great for viewing the stars and enjoying the sounds of nature. If you don't mind a bug or two ;) this place is world class.

What a beautiful one of a kind home with panoramic mountain views. The house was well stocked with everything you would need and more. Our family really enjoyed spending time outside watching the highland cows, petting the donkeys, or observing the doves. You will be blown away by this property! If you are traveling with children you will find toys, games, cribs, changing tables, books, and playground equipment. You’ll be so pleasantly surprised and are sure to be delighted. The bedding was so comfortable that I messaged the host looking for the brands so that I could recreate at home. The host was so wonderful and responsive. What a blessing it was for our family of 12 to spend time here for Thanksgiving. We will always hold the special memories made here dear!

I had a wonderful stay during Thanksgiving. Great views and cozy vibes. My favorite part was curling up on the couch by the fireplace to watch a movie.

What a wonderful holiday our large family group had at Charlene’s lovely home! We loved everything about our stay from the beautiful scenery to the well-appointed home to the thoughtful host. We stayed over Thanksgiving and took extra cooking equipment with us, but there was no need because the roomy kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and more. The house had plenty of room for us to gather together (dining table seats 12 comfortably) but also room to spread out. Plenty of firewood was provided for the outdoor fire pit and the fireplace inside. The host provided extra towels, blankets, dishes and baby things -really, she thought of everything. The kids enjoyed the nooks with toys and books and the tree swing outside. WiFi worked great The larger pond has a canoe and nice clear water-maybe next time we can swim! What really made our visit special was touring the historic working mill on the property-Deep Roots Milling. Thanks for that, Charlene! Hope to return soon!

A great oasis in the Blue Ridge for a gathering of friends! We had plenty of space for 2 families with kids (ages 9-13). Billards, board games, guitar, ukelele, and watching the NFL playoffs in the spacious living room were highlights - on top of activites at Wintergreen just a short drive down the mountain! Double ovens and refrigerators made cooking and storing food a breeze! The extra attention to details like bath toiletries, extras in the kitchen, and fresh fragrance throughout puts this home in a league of its own. We would love to come back in the spring/fall and do some hiking and experience sitting in the red rockers on the porch! John was always responsive - even before our stay as we were preparing what we needed to bring. We loved everything about our stay and highly recommend!!
