Bay Tree Cottage is a beautiful old cottage which has been modernised to a very high standard, whilst remaining sympathetic to the age and location of the property. Everything was high quality, super comfortable and very well equipped from cutlery to games, bed linen to towels, mugs to cleaning materials -everything was perfect. Four of us stayed at Bay Tree Cottage and loved our walks on the beach, visiting the (very) local Cod and Lobster, going out in a local boat trip, as well as visiting other places in the local area. It was a hike up the village to the car park at the top of the village but got us fitter and the views were so spectacular we didn’t mind this and the lack of cars made for a peaceful stay. Kevin contacted us before & just after arrival, making sure all was ok and also soon after we’d left to check we’d enjoyed our stay. This is, without doubt the best Air BnB we’ve stayed in and we can’t recommend Kevin as a host and his beautiful cottage highly enough.

This place was more than perfect for us 4: we wanted to stay in Robins Hood bay for a mini break and this cottage was even more than we expected, cosier than the photos, fantastic atmosphere by the sea and walks near by. We forgot our toiletries but found what we needed in the bathroom so even better. Cottage was in excellent condition. We want to come back in winter as per children’s request!

Treetops were amazing, we were welcomed with freshly baked bread in the kitchen. The place was clean and homely and warm! Would definitely come again, Lisa was an amazing host!

A great place to stay,in an ideal and convenient location. Thought the key situation would be a bit complicated but because the instructions were so clear, that it was quite simple. The apartment was spotless, the equipment was good and easy to use. Furnishings were very good and comfortable. Beds very comfortable and heating system very easy to use. Everything had a very spacious and welcoming feel to it. We would definitely use this apartment again. We had a very enjoyable experience.

Absolutely fantastic stay! Beautiful shepherds hut in a beautiful location. Lots of lovely birds in the grounds, and even got visited by a small herd of deer. Jay and Callum are brilliant hosts, very responsive and helpful, and have put lots of nice little touches on the accommodation that make all the difference. Will definitely be staying again!

My adult son and I stayed for three nights in Brian’s property . The apartment is immaculate and just as described with high quality fixtures and fittings. Beds, linen and pillows particularly stand out. Plenty to see and do within walking distance, frequent bus service from Whitby to surrounding villages and towns as well as train station within walking distance- if you want a different method of transport. For those driving to Whitby the free parking is a real bonus ( residents permit provided with rental property) . If you get the chance to book this place- take it- highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Melanie’s. The house is really comfy, cosy, well-appointed and welcoming. We found it deceptively spacious and we loved the big rooms. The beds are very comfy and the house is warm on cold days and airy when it is hot outside. It’s extremely handy for day trips to Beamish and it’s close enough to make an easy journey into Newcastle. We found the parking was a tight squeeze but Melanie’s advice on how to manage this was spot-on - she is a very helpful host. Event though the house is on a narrow terraced street, the neighbours left us space to get the car in and out, and we found the house private, quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed in the house and there are lots of extras like Netflix and Freeview on the TV as well as lots of books and DVDs. The chip shop down the road served us huge portions and was tasty - we also recommend the Stables restaurant at Beamish Hall. We hope to stay at Melanie’s again and will be recommending it to others.

Stayed with my gf for my 21st birthday unreal place. Got a beautiful location close too the castle. The flat was clean, spacious with a great garden and view. Hot tub was really nice and the provided lamp was handy. All round it was just a beautiful flat and response time from host was brill. Even saw the sunset while in the hot tub which made for a very memorable moment . Definitely recommend for other couples ✅✅

We stayed at the house as an extended family for 4 nights for our daughters wedding in the area. It's an absolutely beautiful place and perfect for holidays , celebrations , gatherings or a base for an extended stay. The house is great, the garden amazing , outside space to socialise and eat is super and it's peaceful with beautiful views. We will hopefully come back again it's an absolute gold gem!
