Holiday rentals with a kayak in Orange County

We loved the house and its location. We enjoyed the kayaks and the fire pit tremendously. Sunrise was beautiful as was the full moon rising. Our host Christine was pleasant and responsive and informed us the house was ready early and we could check in early! We will definitely return! Our pups loved running around the yard!

A fantastic stay! Super clean and well cared for house, comfortable beds, and wonderful outdoor spaces and waterfront. A great lake getaway spot for small families. Note that most bedrooms (except 1) are up a creaky spiral staircase - easy for us but could be a challenge for some folks.

We came back to Michelle and Jim's place in 2025 for a reason... It's a wonderful place to spend time! The home is beautifully decorated, the outdoor patio and deck areas have comfortable seating and the fire pit and dock house provide onsite getaways. If the weather keeps you inside... you can shoot pool, throw darts, play foosball or watch a movie. Lots of terrific restaurants and historical sites within 30-45 minutes of the house. Truly a magical place! Thank you Michelle and Jim.

A beautiful setting and a well appointed house, perfect for group gatherings. The lake at this end is very peaceful, lots of herons and geese, and the surrounding water and marshes are gorgeous to kayak through. Kitchen has everything you’d need for any range of possible meals. Beds very comfortable, bathrooms spotless and include soap/shampoo dispensers, and we loved having a range of seating areas. The hot tub is a really nice one! A few things that may be useful for future guests to pack or know: the dock and deck have no furniture if you want to pack beach chairs (we did). The water on this side is comparatively shallow but fine to put a pontoon or canoe in. We did wish for screen doors on the many large back doors to enjoy the breeze, but used the screened in porch for that. Don’t forget beach towels! The upstairs living room doesn’t have a TV, though the downstairs one is huge (this was fine for us but others may want to be aware when they pick bedrooms).

This lake house was beautiful with excellent views. Eric was very communicative and accommodating, offering early check in and local recommendations. There would have been more to do in the warmer months but it was still nice for a winter getaway.

We enjoyed a lovely ladies getaway weekend. We were able to do some hiking, kayaking, canoeing and prepare meals at home. A very restful and peaceful weekend. This is a gated community, so there is a few minutes drive to get onto the main road.

Our family of 9 spent a week here, and couldn't be happier. Our groups ages spread from 12 to 84, and every one of us had a great time. However beautiful this home and lake look in the photos - it is even more so in person. We had a blast kayaking and paddleboarding, and took a few day trips to the state park, battlefields, and monticello. We spent our mornings having coffee in the beautiful sunroom and evenings with wine overlooking the sunset on the lake. Fred and Gette were extremely accommodating when we realized how close we were to our aunt and added her on for Easter dinner at the last minute. Great communication as well - it was really just a wonderful experience all around.

This is a lovely place off the lake, which was an ideal setting for our family spring break: peaceful, comfortable, a lovely view, and enough space for the kids to enough inside and out. Al was very friendly and went above and beyond in helping us feel at ease and helping us out when we forgot things at their place.
