Holiday rentals in Padiyapelella

This was the most beautiful place to stay in Ella. Yes it is a 10 minute tuk tuk drive to the centre but the peace and quiet, beautiful surroundings and the most amazing and hospitable staff more than makes up for this. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The host was fabulous, even getting an extra bed for us at the last minute and taking feedback on their listing to make it clear what was on offer. We were not there long enough to join a cooking class but wish we had because the smells of the cooking and the joy from the laughter of those attending made us wish we had! The breakfast was delicious in the amazing surroundings of a spice garden and it was a short walk to a popular starting point to walk to the nine arch bridge. Would recommend this to anyone staying in or around Ella - you won’t be disappointed! Thank you to the host for everything, one of the best places we stayed on our trip around Sri Lanka!

We stayed for a couple of days up the hill at Dilrukshi’s place. She had a kind family and we had the most amazing breakfast with her mum a couple of times. The room are nice and the beds are good. The hill is walking distance from the viewpoint but it still feels very serene, since it is at the very top of the hill. Dilrukshi is very good with kids too, our youngest one fell in love I think.

We loved our stay at Solitary Resort. It is situated on a hill in the „jungle“ close to Ella city center. The room and bathroom was perfectly clean. We got amazing Sri lankan breakfast every morning, that we enjoyed on our terasse with the most beautiful view. Dileepa was very lovely and provided us with many tips surrounding the area, which helped us a lot to make the most out of our time in Ella. 100% recommend this place!

We loved staying so close to nature! We spend almost two weeks here. It’s situated right on the edge of the Udawatta sanctuary, so monkeys visited us quite a few times which was nice to see! It’s not far from the city but when we went food shopping we took the tuktuk back and it cost us around 200 LKR. So if you want something private, calm but also walkable to the centre, this is it. Just mind that it’s close to the forrest and not much light goes in through the trees. But on the other hand the temperature in the apartment was nice due to the location. There’s no need for AC but there’s a fan if you need it. The kitchen has some amenities like rice cooker and smoothie maker. But it could maybe use a bit more cutlery like a new wooden spoon, but things like pan and pots were really good. The WiFi was perfect, no problem with that.

This place delivered what was advertised. We stayed as a big group and occupied up the entire villa which gave us needed privacy. The cook / caretaker was the highlight of our stay. He made yummy Srilankan style meal based on our request. We will give him a menu with pictures previous night. Even though we didn't speak same language, the cook was a no non-sense person who was good at his job, made himself scarce when not needed and took care of everything. One of us fell sick with weather changes and he summoned some medication for us upon request even though the place is up a hilltop and 20kms away from any store. Caretaker went above and beyond and made our stay all the more worthwhile. The place was clean and Pubudu was on top of things to constantly improve the stay. Stargazing was as promised and we have astronomy enthusiasts in our group because of which it was such a treat to stay here.

Very nice modern apartment in a nice complex with underground parking. Few minutes by walk to nice restaurant, good cafe just next door.

Arawe Retreat is simply fantastic. From the beautifully appointed accommodation, to the attentive yet relaxed staff, to the tastiest food in Ella. We really had the best time here. Just a short Tuk Tuk from the busy centre of Ella, Arawe retreat provided an oasis of nature focused calm which was hard to leave. Ishanka and his team really have got things just right by creating the retreat around the existing nature and enhancing it. The wildlife noise at night is really something to behold and helps you drift off into relaxed tropical dreams. Huge thanks to Ishanka, Chaggar, Suren and Dashan. You really made this visit memorable and also a special thanks to Banda and Manike. We hope to get the chance to visit again x

Our stay at this Airbnb was absolutely fantastic – by far our favorite place on the entire trip! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how spacious and clean the house was, even bigger than we expected! It truly felt like a home away from home. The pool was sparkling clean, and we spent so much time enjoying it, making our trip even more memorable. Hasini, the host, was incredibly kind and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The housekeeper was also amazing, always available to help with anything at a moment’s notice and so incredibly friendly. Our entire family loved it here and wanted to stay longer, and it was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and create lasting memories together. If you're looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to stay, this is it! We can't wait to return! The location was also ideal, and everything was well-maintained. Highly recommend! The secret door inside was an added cool bonus !
