“We enjoyed four wonderful nights at this villa. The villa is large, specious and very clean. Especially the upstairs bedroom and bathroom and balcony area are great. The pool and outdoor areas are great for relaxing and cooling off. But the best thing was the host/housekeeper, Mervyn. His outstanding service and kind personality made our stay just perfect. Mervyn was as attentive, helpful, and extremely service minded. He made our stay - also for our eight month old son - a true delight. We can honestly say that this was the place we felt the most at home during our Sri Lanka trip. We would highly recommend staying at ‘Mervyn’s place’ and hope that we will return some day as well.”
Beautiful private suite with bathroom, balcony and garden. Walking distance from the beach. My family and I run a small restaurant close to the room where you can enjoy the best view over the bay and have delicious food.
“This is such a wonderful place. A small lovely village (unakuruwa) right next to the ocean, fishermen selling their fresh fish in small restaurants on the beach. A choice of three beaches to go to within minutes: a big picture perfect large beach to go swimming under the palm trees, a beach to learn how to surf and hang with the locals, and a small beach to go snorkelling and see giant sea turtles. And all this without many other tourists. Nilan & Shani are really friendly people, and you meet the rest of their loverly family aswell. They took such a great care. Surprise cups of tea and coffee, free use of their snorkling gear, fresh flowers in our little garden terrace every day. Just perfect. We could go out and enjoy the beach, but after that relax for some hours in our house or in our private garden. Hungry: walk 2 meters to the restaurant and enjoy good food overlooking the ocean. Would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for something else than crowded tourist beach life.”
Enjoy this tranquil villa just meters from a beautiful, secluded beach. The two-story, two-bedroom villa sits high amidst banana and coconut trees, affording sunset ocean views. Our guests enjoy their own separate floor in the villa, both rooms are equipped with private bathroom. The owner is a practicing chef and will prepare delicious Sri Lankan meals in the detached kitchen and open veranda, as well as à la carte or continental breakfast each morning. Villa was recently built (October 2017).
“I highly recommend Dilum and Pavithra’s place if you are looking for a secluded slice of quiet paradise when on the south coast. We received a really warm welcome from Dilum on arrival. The house is a two-storey villa situated in its own private garden, full of plants, trees and amazing birds. It has two floors, comprising of two simple bedrooms with a wet room bathroom in the back of each. There is a verandah outside each bedroom. The ground floor room has really good air conditioning, really effective and very quiet. The first floor bedroom has no AC, but a ceiling fan - it’s probably quite hot to sleep in. We are a couple and hired the whole property and slept on the ground floor and used the first floor verandah for yoga, to watch the birds, the stars and to take in the amazing view. Everything was clean and tidy, the bed and bedding was comfortable. The pillows were quite full, so perhaps some variety of thickness in the pillows would be good. Separate to the house is a pretty covered area where Dilum, Pavithra and their team can cook meals for you if you like, and they serve drinks including beer. We ate the BEST food of our trip here. Absolutely delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts and curries for dinner (we didn’t need lunch). I can’t recommend the food and hospitality highly enough! The location: the house is a 2 minute walk from a completely deserted, beautiful beach or 5 minutes walk to another gorgeous beach with a small bar on it, where there were max 10-15 people. Great swimming at both beaches. If you want to visit the busier beaches at Hiriketyia (7/8 mins away by tuktuk), Goyambakka (5 mins away) or Dikwella (20 mins away) you can very easily get a tuktuk. Dilum and Pavathra were really helpful with advice and helping with transport. I absolutely loved it here and it was so nice to meet Dilum and Pavithra and their children. A relaxing, peaceful, beautiful place to stay.”
