The place looks a bit more “run-down” than the pictures suggest. And despite the “rustic” look, there’s pretty much everything you need. And most importantly, a friendly, caring, thoughtful and hospitable host. It’s a great place to be away from all the tourists. It’s just us and the sea. Rent a scooter and you’ll have access to everything else. We were here during the monsoon season and Julia was worried about the place being in the path of the storm, we had no problems at all. It was nice to just hang out at the balcony watching the sea and the fishermen at work, and then drive out for food and sightseeing whenever we’re ready to brave the road / crowds. There are also a few eating places with wonderful seafood, breakfast and hot pot all within 100m of the house. And yes, there is beer on site. Just keep tabs on the book. Will definitely come back again when we pass by the next time. Thank you Julia!

Julia’s place and the entire staff at Manta make the trip to Mui Ne one you’ll cherish always. From the moment I arrived, Julia, acted as a friend and caretaker. I only wish I could have stayed longer in paradise. Rooms are, as expected, simple, but the overall stay and experience was extraordinary. Even got to paddle board for my first time, assisted by the stellar Manta staff. Bravo to all!

Julia is an amazing host and fascinating activist. We consider it a great privilege to have met her. She made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. We had highly interesting and eye opening talks and Julia generously shared a lot of her insights and even helpful contacts for our further journey with us. The staff at Manta sailing school was very supportive too, organized a bike for us and gave us valuable tips as to where to go and what to see. Julia was so generous to upgrade our room, so we had an air con and an ensuite bathroom. Dear Julia, dear Manta-staff, thanks for everything and best of luck for all your endeavors.
