This cosy lodge, brand new this year is situated in a tranquil area with lakes, wild flowers, singing birds and often a deer or 2 roaming around. Enjoy open forest walks on your doorstep, try out one of the local pubs, pack up a picnic, enjoy the ranger activity programme or simply sit back and relax in the comfortable open-plan living area or outdoor decking. Luxury king and twin beds and beautiful interiors await, featuring a fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher), smart TVs in the living area/en-suite master bedroom and gas central heating throughout. There is parking available on the driveway directly next to the lodge. Why I love it here.. All the home from home comforts providing somewhere to escape from the ‘real world’ and relax, with the added benefit of being able to walk out into the open forest and see the free roaming ponies, donkeys, cattle, sheep, pigs and more. The hub of the park, a 5 minute stroll from the lodge itself has lots to offer.. Sense of adventure? Love the great outdoors? Green Hill Farm Holiday Village is the perfect retreat for active families with an impressive nature focussed activity list and a friendly rustic cafe/bar serving stone baked pizzas, scones and more. Bikes can be hired and Segway tours booked. There is even a camp fire in the evenings with optional marshmallows. The location is perfect for families and couples alike with the northern New forest commons on the doorstep. Paultons park (where I am told Peppa Pig world is a highlight!) and 2 golf courses are also less than a 10 minute drive away. If you fancy eating in, then the park also has a useful shop where you can pre-order fresh bread and meat from the local butcher.

- We will meet at Winchester Station. As we walk to the heart of the historic town, we will speak and learn about this Ancient Capital of England: Winchester. We will stop at the Westgate, a remnant of the fortified walls. Here we will see the Great Hall and talk of: King Arthur, the Domesday Book, and Thomas Hardy. We will continue down the famous High Street with its' beautiful buildings. Then we will see the marvel that is Winchester Cathedral. - I will take you off the beaten track and away from busy tourist areas in the New Forest and show you hidden gems. You will learn about the natural habitat and what animals, plants and fungi can be found there. You will learn how to photograph the wildlife with minimal disturbance so that you get better more relaxed subjects and we can work on different techniques used to photograph smaller subjects such as flowers and fungi. I can provide as much photography help or learning as you need and as time will allow or show you what you are looking for and let you photograph them in your own way. We will meet at your accommodation or a prearranged starting point and the length of the walk can be tailored to suit your needs but generally the terrain is not difficult. Timing can be by mutual arrangement and I am not averse to pre-dawn starts for those special photos of red deer stags in the mist. Other things to note I can cater for any level of photography from the beginner to those looking for that competition winning entry. What we look for will be dependant on the time of year and local weather variations. - Before the workshop I will contact you to find out a bit more about your photographic interests and level of experience. I will meet you at the superb locations of Blackwater here in the New Forest. With the lovely backdrop of tall trees, open heath and a pond we will work on Basic Controls of the camera and the lens together with what some of the buttons do and what information the camera can provide. We will work on composition and how to take best advantage of the available light and how it changes. We will explore scenarios from photographing your family in the landscape, landscape photography itself to photographing wildlife and nature. After we finish I will prepare a summary of what we covered to help you take in the new techniques which will help your photography grow. Other things to note This photography learning experience is aimed at photographers who tend to use program and auto modes and would like to know more about how to get the best out of their camera.
