Welcome to Frith Estate where your hosts Sandra and Sonny have brought Bermuda hospitality to the middle of the Costa Rican jungle in Playa Zancudo! Enjoy the slow pace of life in secluded Playa Zancudo in Costa Rica's much less travelled Southern Pacific Zone. Enjoy excellent surf every morning, just steps away from the front door of your beachfront cabin and after a day of exploring or relaxing, watch the sun set over Osa Peninsula.
“We just had the most amazing time at the frith estate in playa zancudo! You cannot beat the amazing ocean breeze that flows right through the cabina! No ac needed whatsoever! We caught local tuna with a zancudo native and were able to feed ourselves plus a few others the entire time! Being able to cook and have full kitchen was so perfect, cooking and eating to the roar of the ocean, you just simply cannot beat it. Amazing tour into the mountains by horseback, so incredibly special!! Zancudo has tons to offer and Sonny and Sandra will go out of there way to help and show you along! Picked up up from gulfito and dropped us off to our next destination without hesitation. Amazing hosts! Perfect place to get out of the hustle and bustle and relax. Great food around and an amazing baking from Ellie, you just can't beat this local experience we had. Absolutely perfect and we couldn't be more happy and thankful for such a beautiful wonderful experience!”
In southern Costa Rica, in the unique Golfo Dulce, on Playa Zancudo, set back 300 ft from the beach and off the main road, a secret garden with a safe, clean, quiet and cozy space to relax. Restaurants, stores and bars as close as 5 minutes walking. Located at one of the best spots on the beach to swim, however if you want to surf then just walk south and the waves keep getting bigger the farther you go. If you are looking to explore, play or simply get away then this is the place to stay!
“I had a wonderful stay with Amon-Eros, Nadia and cute little Nina (and their two adorable dogs) for a few days. This beautiful family was a pleasure to get to know and the guest are is a lovely main floor private space in a quiet garden sanctuary. The accommodations are clean and well-appointed with a large kitchen area if you prefer to do your own cooking. The garden is peaceful and lovely with hammocks on the walk-out patio to relax in. The beach is a short few minutes walk with a direct path. Both Amon and Nadia have lived in the area for a very long time and are both knowledgeable and readily available for any questions you might have. I enjoyed my conversations with them and Nadia prepared some delicious meals for me (at a very reasonable, inexpensive rate). There is a very positive, calm energy in this home and I felt safe and comfortable as a solo female traveller. Thank you Nadia for all the fun conversations, the zumba classes, and the extra coconut water and thank you Amon for helping me get to Golfito for departure and helping me find the post office to mail my postcards and for all your immense knowledge and details about so many things on the tours you provide! It was a great stay with your family. Pura Vida!”

“You can tell from the photos just how nice this little house is. Yes, it's that good. The location is perfect. Not too far from the restaurant/bar and mini market, especially with the supplied bicycles. I was there without a car and didn't have any issues other than when it was time to go to the Halloween party and it was a torrential downpour so I just walked in the rain and laughed the whole way. I spent a ton of time in the hammock on the deck watching the wildlife. Scarlet macaws and green parrots and parakeets landed in trees around the house all day long. There were yellow birds, blue birds, red and black birds. The iguanas and squirrels were entertaining and there were even monkeys and sloths! I didn't even need to leave the house to be fully entertained. There are tons of big windows (no glass, just screens with wooden shutters if you need them, but you don't) and fans in every room so there's always a nice breeze. The house is sealed enough so that insects inside aren't an issue. I feel asleep listening to the waves crash and geckos chirp and woke up to the sounds of howler monkeys and song birds. Between the owners and the property manager, the place is kept to a very high standard as far as maintenance and cleanliness. The property manager asked me more than once if I felt everything was clean enough. As things do, especially in a corrosive beach climate, sometimes things need attention while you're there. But let me tell you, the property manager Susan is really on top of things. I texted her when the fridge went out and I didn't hear back and wondered if she got the message. A few minutes later she pulled up into the driveway; she came right over. A replacement fridge was delivered and a repair man also came. Done and done. Seriously, any small thing was dealt with right away. And the house is so well stocked. From dish and laundry soap, to some kitchen basics, trash bags, an information binder, nice boogie boards (there's surfing right out front, or calmer waters 100 yds to the right), big fluffy towels, comfortable pillow-top mattresses, and memory foam pillows. Oh and there's a washer to do laundry. From the very first contact I had with Mark and Cindy, they have been nothing but personable and helpful. And Susan too really helped me find the best way to get to Zancudo (which is not always an easy task) and I enjoyed the few times she stopped by to chat for a while on the deck. If I can think of one thing to make sure you are aware of it's that the bedroom doesn't have a door, just a curtain. It's an open floor plan so don't plan on tons of privacy (which was zero issue for me) if someone is sleeping on the single trundle bed in the front room. Also, it's best to be safe and heed the instructions not to leave valuables outside. Bring your shoes upstairs. ;) If you're thinking of staying here ... do! You'll love it. :)”
