“The first thing you notice upon entering the apartment is the view - tropical cool, beautiful and mesmerising with swaying palm trees against an ocean backdrop and a church spire peeking up through the green lushness from the road below. As a perfect space in the hinterlands of Mont-Dore to relax and unwind, sitting outside on the patio to write and listen to different bird calls calmed the mind. Delphine was kind enough to drive us to the main supermarket, which was a ten-minute drive away, for a quick shop before she went away for the weekend with her family. We loved the facilities and the bright, open, quiet space after spending five busy days roaming around Noumea and its outskirts. Joel, her husband, was very friendly and helpful when we first arrived and introduced us to their two dogs and to Caramel, the cat, who was very affectionate and sweet and kept us company during our stay. There was a bit of confusion when we first arrived. After sharing a studio apartment in Noumea for five days straight, my friend and I were looking forward to having our own rooms only to find when we arrived that the second bedroom was locked. Joel seemed to imply that we were to share the one bedroom on offer which was puzzling particularly as the place was listed as a two-bedroom/two-bathroom space. However, he was quick to understand and unlocked the room and was happy to make up the bed without any hassle or question. Delphine arrived home and was very friendly and drove us to the main supermarket which was a ten-minute drive away to do a quick shop. She also showed us around and took us to Vallon Dore beach down the road and showed us a smaller supermarket, Ta et Ty, closer to her home with a pizza place next door (which was expensive but it was good pizza!). Wifi was fine although sometimes it dropped out and you had to stay indoors for it to work - it didn't work outside. Delphine also suggested we use ETI Transport shuttle service (2500f each) to get us to and from Mont-Dore as we couldn't get the public bus as we'd planned (Thierry, the ETI driver was very professional, on-time and helpful too). All up, we enjoyed our stay. Thanks!”
“Weekend which promised to be particularly rainy, but this is absolutely not a problem in this nice house with large spaces (covered). Weekend with 5 children (2 to 7 years old), no worries, the house is well laid out, functional, in very good condition, clean, everything is there (and thank you for the attention for having loaded films and cartoons on TV ;-)). At the slightest clearing we could take advantage of the superb grounds, the adjoining beach, just great! No wind for the weekend, is this the reason for the many mosquitoes? don't forget your mosquito repellents! We were a little short of air, a fan would have been welcome, but again the weather was special that weekend. Experience to repeat, I strongly recommend this accommodation located near nouméa, but which allows you to get closer to the South and gain 1 / 2h of road for ballads and excursions. Thanks to Seb and Manu for their welcome and their kindness.”
