The Grain Place has been an organic farm since 1953. It is an oasis of birds, bees, content cattle, open air pigs, grain fields and gardens in every direction. You can be part of this movement to save soil and community when you stay at our founder's farm house. The home is a tribute to simpler, frugal times. The wealth of this farm visit is experiencing regenerative agriculture.
“Kathryn and Raymond’s place was just what we needed for the week. It’s clean and comfortable and private. We were gone most of the daylight hours and so we weren’t able to see much of the farm. What we did see is very nice. The house is comfortable. We moved in and made it home for the week. The shower is a bit on the small side and we like a little more water pressure. But, it is original and it is clean. Also, my husband was a little bummed to miss football and tennis as the television only gets educational TV. We did have some good family laughs watching Carol Burnett DVD’s though! There is a large collection of videos and DVDs to choose from. Kathryn and Raymond are attentive and friendly. They even came to the state fair and looked us up to see our cattle and visit. I imagine we’ll be staying here again!”
Two private rooms over garage. Room 1: Bedroom with electric fireplace/air conditioning and over-air TV and Blu-ray. Room 2: Landing with table, chairs, fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker.
“Very friendly family! The space was cozy and the bed was comfortable. Would stay again.”
