I really enjoyed 3 days in Balk with the very friendly Judith and Jeroen. Beautiful homestay, super clean and tidy. Beautiful area within walking distance of Slotermeer. Beautiful garden with various seating areas where you can relax and read breakfast. The surroundings are also beautiful, in my opinion the most beautiful part of Friesland. I would 100% recommend this homestay and I will definitely return here. Thank you very much for everything!

super cozy & beautiful house. We had 2 really nice weeks there as a family. Everything very calm and relaxed, perfect for unwinding and slowing down. The pool within the complex was perfect for the child. Cycle with empty swimming beaches is only 20 minutes away. Arlien was always available as a host and very friendly. Very detailed instructions for arrival/departure!

We were visiting a relative in the area. The venue suited our needs very nicely. Home from home (once we got used to the stairs). A version of the Guidance Book in English would be very useful. If we venture into Drenthe again, we will certainly look to see if Irene’s home is available.

A charming spot to enjoy nature and truly disconnect. The owner was exceptionally kind and welcoming. We were two couples, and while the place felt a bit smaller than it appeared in the photos, it was still perfectly comfortable for a short stay. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cabin in Friesland. Every single detail was thoughtfully designed to make us feel comfortable and at home. The surroundings were stunning , peaceful, quiet, and full of natural beauty. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge. We truly appreciated the care that went into every aspect of the stay. Lovely, spacious house in one of the most beautiful places in Friesland, located directly on open water with beautiful views over a lake (It Piel, borders Heegermeer and the Fluessen) and the countryside. Recommended for those who love peace, space and the Frisian lakes.

Our stay at this beautiful, idyllic farmhouse was just perfect. Upon arrival, we immediately felt at home. The breakfast was a dream, lovingly prepared and incredibly delicious with love for details. Johan and Imi were very friendly, attentive and always there for us. It was a real pleasure to be here, we would have preferred to stay longer. Thank you for this wonderful time!
