The Place in Paradise main attractions are the location, fantastic ocean front view, own entrance, and great accommodations. It offers you a peaceful retreat after a long day of exploring the Big Island.
“Wow! This is probably my favorite ever Airbnb experience. Firstly Earl and Linda are great hosts, they provided tons of amenities, fresh fruit from their garden, snacks and drinks! Wonderful local coffee too!! The location is simply fantastic. If you like to snorkel/dive you are located about a 2 minute drive from Two Step. The location is less than 10 minutes from Ho'okena beach and the Captain cook monument trail too. This was great for us because parking at these places fills up quickly so being able to get there early in the morning is a huge bonus!! From the bedroom you can look out across the beautiful ocean views from the 3 huge windows. We would watch the sunset here most evenings and it was wonderful. The building is close to the beautiful painted church which is worth visiting. The night times were very peaceful, with the usual Hawaiian jungle sounds. We just want to thank you again Linda and Earl! We hope we will be back soon.”
Dreaming of sleeping under a sexy mosquito net while the sound of a river rushes by & then to wake up in the jungle to the smell of ocean & rain while looking out through banana trees? As you walk through this property you notice edible plants everywhere as friendly hosts inform you of magical spots on the island. Healers live on property to assist your needs & the "Illuminarium" above is ideal to meditate, practice yoga, dance or watch epic sunsets with a panoramic view of Kealakekua Bay!

Experience old Hawaii in Captain Cook, just above the beach at Honaunau Bay near the City of Refuge. Amazing location! Walk down and snorkel or dive with tropical fish, coral reefs, sea turtles, dolphins, and more. Relax on the lanai, out of the sun and watch dolphins spin in the bay. Honaunau is great place for kayaking, scuba diving, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, people watching or sunbathing and we have a boat launch too. Hawaii Transient Occupancy Tax of 14.146% is required.
“We (two parents with a 7 year old son) loved staying at this house for a week. The location and setting are simply amazing. The property manager was quickly responsive to all questions. This is a great location for snorkeling, kayaking, and exploring early Hawaiian culture. The side lanai is very private and looks directly out over the famous Two Step snorkeling entry for Honaunau Bay. The tropical vegetation is lush and contains numerous interesting critters including red millipedes, happy-face spiders, feral mongooses, colorful birds, and friendly geckos. It is a 2 minute walk to snorkeling and a 3 minute walk to the City of Refuge Historical Park (no admission charge unless you are parking). A local family [Ehu and Kai] that rents and launches kayaks for Kealakekua Bay is a 10 minute drive up the Beach Rd (very narrow with steep shoulders so take your time). The house came with a good stock of shampoo, sunscreens, and snorkeling gear. The electricity is from solar panels so you do need to mindful of power consumption, but turning off lights and fans that you are not using seems to be sufficient to prevent issues. Overall, a great house that we hope to return to sometime soon. ”
