The Old Bakehouse - Quintessential Cotswold Cottage

The cottage is over 350 years old, built in honey coloured Cotswold stone. It retains its exposed beams, floorboards, flagstone floors and the original cast-iron bread oven doors from its days as a working bakery. Open the French doors to the flagstone courtyard for a BBQ supper or snuggle down by the log burning stove with a glass of wine. Enjoy walks through the village woods to the river or just long soaks in the cast iron roll top bath (please note there is no walk-in or stand-up shower). The cottage is now connected to the villages new super fast fiber broadband service should you need to work. The cottage is peaceful, cosy and relaxing with lovely views across the countryside. All three beds have comfortable new mattresses and are made up with fresh, crisp, ironed, white pure cotton bed linen. The bathroom has ample white fluffy towels for relaxing soaks in the cast iron roll top bath. The log burning stove makes for cosy winter nights watching films or reading books. There are books to borrow, a cupboard packed with family games, Netflix, Prime Video or a 200+ DVD library to choose from. Throw open the French doors from the sitting room onto the flagstone courtyard where there is a table and chairs ready for you to enjoy summer dining, drinks or BBQ's. The kitchen is provided with freshly laundered tea towels, hand towels, oven gloves and is well equipped for food preparation during your stay. IN THE VILLAGE: There is a village pub a 5 minute walk from the cottage which serves honest pub food as well as drinks and good beers (it's a Free House). Within a 5 minute walk theres a local general stores for basic supplies, a hairdresser with nail salon and a Post Office. There is also a post box right outside the The Old Bakehouse if you want to send a postcard or two. There is even a visiting van which serves traditional British fish & chips once a week.
