Experience Glass Project
While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We can be flexible. Feel free to reach out to us to schedule a specific date and time or a private group if you don't see it on our calendar. Other things to note... Your pieces will be ready to be picked up in 24 hours. Shipping available with additional fee.

Great Salt Lake Flying Tour
On this unique, adventurous experience you will get a a birds eye view of The Great Salt Lake that puts into perspective the scale and beauty of this top Utah attraction. What would take a full day to see by car, we will squeeze into an action packed 40 minute flight. The GSL is an iconic landmark and you will see views that have been constantly evolving since it’s creation during the Bonneville flood over 14,500 years ago! One of the benefits of visiting the lake by air is we have no negative ecological impact. The sensitive eco-system is able to grow and evolve as if we were never there. You will see many of the animals that call the Great Salt Lake home such as antelope, buffalo, deer, coyote, and even eagles. Upon meeting at the airport I will escort you to our trusty steed, a vintage Cessna Bush-plane straight out of Alaska. The airplane we will be using is one of the greatest tools for exploring the local area and you are guaranteed a flight you will never forget. After a quick safety briefing we will get in the plane, buckle up, and begin our adventure. Half of the flight will be up high with expansive views, and the other half will be "low and slow" where you will feel like we are in a flying car. With four seats there is room for the pilot and three passengers each flight.

Bioluminescence Kayak Journey
BIOLUMINESCENCE KAYAK TOUR $140 per person The Bioluminescence Tour gives us a surreal experience. Living organisms produce light, causing the water to glow and sparkle like a cosmic mirror. Any motion in the ocean waters accents this offering, a dance of light as we paddle in darkness. In our experience a kayak tour offers the best way to experience this magic as we move through the night in silence, also motorboats can harm the plankton which are a keystone species for ocean health. Our focus is on safety and fun as we witness the ocean in a unique way that few have had the opportunity to enjoy. The silence opens our senses as we glide through the water almost as if we are flying – a beautiful way to connect with the mysteries and wonders of nature. Watch the ocean floor come alive below and around you, see the glow on the fish and seals. As the sunlight fades silhouetting the BC Coast Mountain range, bats swirl above, heron and other birds head to their roosting spots. Only a short distance from the Backeddy Resort we melt into the night behind the Sutton Islands, away from the lights on shore. We explore with our sensory awareness and encourage you to feel with an open heart. Things to note: See Metta eco experiences website for details, tour times will vary based on time of year. We provide updates on the exact times. Our tours provide a safe and fun adventure.

Sausalito Walking Tour of Historic Houseboats & Art Studio

Off the beaten path from the downtown, popular tourist area, the Marinship and houseboat area appears a quiet, industrial work zone but there is much going on here! Come explore the yesteryear of the bohemian lifestyle that many artists, writers and celebrities called home. Let's start with a meet and greet in front of the dock called "South 40 Dock" in Waldo Point Harbor. There is plenty of street parking along Gate 5 Road should the parking lot be full. Your GPS easily shows you the spot to meet and Uber finds the location as well. We'll take a 1- 1/2 hour walk along the houseboat docks and hear the story of how this intriguing neighborhood began, discuss a few boats that are of historic significance and give a few local stories of some famous interesting characters. As we make our way back to my art studio for a drink/snack, we can see a few more interesting structures and hear about the artist Jean Varda for which Varda Landing is named for. If an artist is in a studio and open to a "hello" we may have a chit-chat for a moment. I do require a 2 person minimum to run this tour. For the history buffs, make sure to watch the building of the Liberty Ships for WWII: on the website: archive dot org /details/chi_00005 Note--There is small dog in the art studio.
