The Coho Cabin, is located at the old fishing town of Pillar Rock . Each guest has an opportunity to tour the Pillar Rock Cannery, originally established in 1877. Lewis and Clark also camped here and documented they first saw the ocean. Located on the banks of the Columbia River, the cabin has absolutely fantastic views! View and enjoy a beautiful secluded sandy beach, with private access from the cabin. Upstream is a stunning view of historical Pillar Rock.
“If you like the isolated feel of camping, but want all of the modern conveniences and comfort of home - this vacation is a must. The property is gorgeous, and far enough off the beaten path that Mother Nature is on full display. We saw an Osprey dive into the river and catch a fish... absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience. After a long day of birding, hiking, and combing the secluded beach adjacent to the front yard, we relaxed in front of a pre-prepared fire pit (we literally just had to light it, Krista made sure everything else was set up prior to our arrival). The living space was not only clean and secure, but the thoughtful decor and kitchen amenities made us feel like we were just spending an evening at home. The linens were plentiful, and we found no aspect of convenience in the kitchen missing from our experience. My only regret is not taking a longer stay here - we won’t be making that mistake next time we book a trip to stay here! This is an “annual vacation tradition”-worthy destination. Thank you so much, Krista and team!”

“This is my second trip to the Anchor House and I was not disappointed. It has everything you need. It’s so quiet and private.....unless you have issues with the deer hanging out and munching on the grass. The cabin is CLEAN and so well stocked with kitchen supplies and everything you need for a fire. Modern and very comfortable. I had three of the best nights of sleep in a long time. This stay was particularly rainy, but the covered deck made it perfect for watching the rain, wildlife, and ships passing by. Cheryl is beyond a “super host.” Checks in to make sure everything is going well and responds very quickly to any questions. I cannot wait to go back.”
Our beautiful home overlooks the Columbia River! This is one of two listings in our house. For our Astoria Retreat, our guests stay in a private room upstairs. This bedroom's Southwest theme is inspired by our second love, Arizona, where we used to live! You also have a private bathroom and access to shared living room and kitchen. Our guests especially enjoy our outdoor decks, in the morning with a cup of coffee!
“Amazing location and hospitality! Lacy was a great host and very conscientious about everything from checking in to suggestions for restaurants and activities. She made us feel very welcome. The view from the deck was beautiful and can only imagine how wonderful it would be in the summer. Thank you so much, again, for such a warm welcome! Say “hi” to Woody and Eddie for us when you visit!”
