Alternatively you may prefer to relax on the verandah enjoying the sound of the creek or drive the short distance to the highway and visit all the beautiful places the Cairns region has to offer. This is a unique property hidden away in the rainforest 40 minutes south of Cairns adjoining the Wooroonooran National Park, home of the magnificent Boulders and Josephine Falls. There is no need to go all the way to Cape Tribulation with the crowds, when you can experience the true Wet Tropics close to Cairns staying in luxury accommodation. Wild Ginger is a boutique property, with the highest quality linen, facilities, including high speed internet. Your host, Naomi, lives on the property in an adjoining granny flat. She is often away and is very unobtrusive, respecting your privacy at all times but available for advice or assistance at anytime. However if you prefer to have the place entirely to yourself, at an extra charge of $50 A night you can have the key to the gate and complete privacy. This 50 acres of untouched rainforest, seamlessly shares the boundary of a huge national park which encompasses Mt Bellenden Ker and its catchment area. The creek flowing past the house and the larger one a short walk away, have the purest water on Earth. From late October through to April, the beaches in North Queensland are off limits due to deadly box jellyfish and are intolerably hot as well. This is when Wild Ginger is at its finest, the coolness of the lush jungle and the swimming holes at a perfect temperature for swimming all day! The house is fully airconditioned and and has two large queen bedrooms. There is a mezzanine bedroom with a queen size inner spring mattress, which has a ladder staircase and a low ceiling. Alternatively a mattress or 2 can be put on the floor of the bigger bedroom. The house is surrounded by verandas overlooking tropical gardens and is fully screened. Bi-fold doors open up the kitchen to the garden. The veranda overlooks a crystal clear creek with a natural swimming hole close to the house where you can hand feed the tame jungle perch and tortoise. Walk the jungle track to the larger second creek on the property and explore the ancient waterfalls and swimming holes and bathe under cascades and natural spas. Ancient figs full of orchids, ferns and birds nest ferns spread their twisting buttress roots around the mossy boulders. Platypus live in the clear pools along with forest dragons and vibrant butterflies while fluorescent dragonflies skim the dancing water. You will have a vast area of crocodile free, completely private streams and jungle all to yourself. If you are fit and the weather is fine you can rock hop for hours up the creek into a truly untouched paradise which is inaccessible to anyone else. On a clear night you might like to build a bonfire on the creek bank and cook food over the coals while enjoying the forest at night. The charming little town of Babinda is nearby where a supermarket, bakery, butcher, newsagent, craft shop, movie theater, hospital, doctor, pharmacy, two pubs, cafes and restaurants are available. A few minutes down the road is the Bellenden Ker boat ramp. Bring your own boat or hire one locally and explore the wild stretches of the twin rivers, (The Mulgrave and The Russell) and visit the small beach community of Russell Heads. Take a day trip on Frankland Island Cruises, up the jungle clad river to an uninhabited tropical Island where you can swim from a white sandy beach and snorkel the fantastic coral fringing reef, admire the fish and cavort with giant turtles. Lunch is provided and all gear. Go on a Snapping Tours trip down the river at Innisfail and see crocodiles. Visit the Mamu Canopy Walk, skydive at Innisfail or go white water rafting. You are an hour closer than Cairns to the rafting location on the Tully River. There are too many nearby attractions to mention, including Behana Gorge, The Boulders, Josephine Falls, The Sugar Museum, Paronella Park and and so much more! It is a twenty minute drive to both the Gillies and the Palmerston Highway making Wild Ginger a great base to explore the Atherton Tablelands. Beautiful Mission Beach is an hour's drive away. Bramston Beach is the closest beach, with picturesque Etty Bay a little further south where you are certain to see the resident cassowaries. Etty Bay is close to the nearest large town which is the green and pretty Innisfail in its river setting. Most of the natural wonders for which North Queensland is famous, are in the southern sector of the Cairns region; yet there is very little accommodation available in the area. Wild Ginger Rainforest Retreat is truly a hidden paradise where you can sleep with nothing but the music of the creek and the forest and be immersed in nature. There is no public transport so you will need your own vehicle. The property is an easy 1km from the Bruce Highway and has a good road. Wild Ginger is not suitable for children under 6.
This is a peaceful rural area, always green and lush with the mountains in the background. Sugar cane fields full of waving flower stalks move in the wind. Beautiful creeks and waterfalls bisect the countryside and small, friendly country towns and roadside pubs dot the region. The area has a higher rainfall than Cairns.
  • The location is everything with this place. A true haven and very peaceful and relaxing. It is completely away from everyone and everything. The house is well appointed and has everything that you need. Naomi was very easy to communicate with both via emails and in person and helpfully showed us things on our arrival. Although Naomi lives next door, she completely respects your privacy and when she was there we didn’t see her at all. We would not hesitate to recommend this place. It is a must if you want to truly escape from it all.

  • The place is amazing, its truly will be the highlight of the trip for anyone staying! Naomi is a perfect host, always ready to help and was so lovely meeting her and enjoying her hospitality! Looking forward to come back, missing the place already!

  • Place was really great. A beautiful part of the world. If you're not familiar with north Queensland, it's a must. Endless rainforest and swimming holes to enjoy and hike through.

    Michael2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Magical. If you’re considering booking, just do it. It’s easily the best place I’ve ever stayed.

    Jessica2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had the most amazing stay at Naomis. We spent New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and the following day at the beautiful Wild Ginger Retreat. The space itself is incredible, so romantic and secluded. Apart from the amazing retreat itself the private rainforest is gorgeous, we went swimming in the two spots recommended every day. We actually hardly left the wild ginger retreat while we were there except to visit Babinda to go to the bakery. The drive from Cairns to Bellenden Ker was beautiful. We can’t recommend this place enough, it would be great for a honeymoon destination as it is so secluded and romantic. Thanks Naomi for having us, we hope to return in the future and we have recommended it to al our friends xx

    Jessie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Naomi’s place for a week and absolutely loved every minute of it. The house is very clean, comfortable and has everything a family would need. The nature, wildlife and the creeks that surrounds it takes one’s breath away. Naomi is a private but very friendly host. Any queries were answered promptly. If you have a chance for Naomi to cook for you - take it with both hands! We will definitely be back!

  • Honestly just perfect. We spent the first 3 days on our honeymoon here and could not have chosen a better spot. We spent a whole day hiking & swimming along nearby Harvey Creek, which was absolutely spectacular and completely untouched & private; highly recommended! The house was gorgeous, clean & stylish with plenty of space. Our best Airbnb stay so far!

    Kara2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb was fantastic. It was everything we hoped for and much more. A lovely little slice of paradise on the edge of the rainforest. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to escape for a few days.

  • The Quarters are wonderful!. One feels the ambience of peace and tranquility as soon as they enter the building. The room I booked served it's purpose well and although it had shared bathroom facilities, those facilities were clean and well maintained. I walked through some of the building while i was there and was so impressed with what I saw (especially the huge lounging room). I can't imagine any one not being happy with the facilities at The Quarters.

Lazell's Eco Retreat is located south of Cairns, QLD, Australia, set on 50 acres of Rainforest. We’re just fifteen minutes from the pristine Babinda Boulders and the famous Babinda Bakery. This is our private paradise, we make our own electricity which is banked in batteries, have glorious rain water for usage only so come and join us for peace and quite, kick off your shoes, gaze at the night stars, read, relax, breathe, nap.... Free Wi-Fi is available.
Our house is very modern and clean. It was built in 2017. 2 storey, open plan living with private decking areas and large grounds. We have BBQ facilities on the main deck for use, however kitchen can be used. We are a Eco friendly house, which means we make our own power and bank it in batteries. Our only source of water is glorious rain water.
Babinda is framed by Queensland’s two highest mountains, Mt Bartle Frere (1622m), and Mt Bellenden Ker (1593m), which gets an average 10-12 metres of rain each year. The rural township subsequently boasts the highest rainfall in Australia, with average rainfall in excess of 4m. Here some of the region’s most challenging and rewarding trails cross this rugged World Heritage area. Take a dip in the cool mountain water of the Babinda Boulders, this pretty reserve has a picnic area, safe swimming area, campground and signposted walks. Downstream the creek settles to offer a unique experience to swim or kayak in the clear waters with sandy beaches to spot fish, turtles and even platypus. In the Babinda township itself you will find Art Deco buildings, an historic hotel, friendly shops and services as well as the Babinda Information Centre. The Babinda Air Raid Shelter is Queensland’s most intact World War 2 public air raid shelter and now serves as a brightly painted toilet block. The heritage-listed Babinda State Hotel was built from rainforest timbers in 1917 by the Queensland Government. Also we have the famous Babinda Bakery with their cream buns!!!!!
  • Deb and David are the best Air BNB hosts we have ever had the privilege to stay with. Their house was phenomenal and so were Charlie and Ziggy (the dogs). We were able to find it pretty easy and felt so comfortable with our hosts. We felt like actual company and not just paying guests. The views are stunning especially when the sun rises (didn’t have a chance to see the sunset due to timing and clouds). The bathroom was a little slice of paradise with the two shower options. We would 100% recommend staying here for your adventures.

    Kari2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were the first guests of Deb & Dave and can absolutely recommend this place! Lovely people lovely dog Charlie and just an incredible place and experience in the nature! They have a big garden, you feel like in paradise!

Our peaceful 4 hectare property is situated in the foothills of Queenslands tallest peak, Mt Bartle Frere. The land fronts onto a beautiful creek that is suitable for swimming and relaxation. The cottage is a wonderful quiet retreat.
The cottage has panoramic views of the valley and mountains. It is self contained with lounge, kitchen, queen bedroom and reef bathroom. It is self catering. Situated on a large rural property in a beautiful valley, it is always peaceful here and serene at Bella Vista. Far from bright city lights, the night sky reveals the milky way in its full splendour.
Supplies are available in nearby Babinda, which has two pubs, a supermarket, bakery and a movie theater open on weekends. Other nearby attractions include: The Boulders, Josephine falls - the natural waters life is fun, Eubenangee Swamp and Bramston Beach.
  • We LOVED our stay at Jan’s place. So grateful that she is sharing this piece of heaven. This space have everything you need. It’s so close to many of the Babinda hikes and attractions and the views of the mountains are breath taking. We planned on spending just a morning down by the beautiful creek, but we couldn’t leave, we stayed there all day. Jan was such an amazing host, she gave us the warmest welcome into the country. Lots of great tips, she made sure we had everything we needed and answered all of our questions, very quick to respond :) Thank you so much! We will be back! Erin, Greg & Diane 🍁

  • Awesome spot! Very peaceful, a nice relaxing time away. The creek was a real beauty!

    Bronson2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location near Babinda with great views. Surrounded by nature and birds. Cottage is very comfortable and homely. Very relaxing. Jan is easy to communicate with. Highly recommend if you want to get away. Mobile receptions is not bad.

    Nadine2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, close to a number waterfalls and small-large hikes. Despite the rainy weather you could sit in the cottage and watch the birds and butterfly dancing about the beautiful trees all the while, the clouds pass through the green mountains.

    Emma2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you have two arms, legs and a heartbeat you should stay here.

    Will2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jan's place was just amazing. There's everything you need in the cottage, including picnic baskets, esky, and books about local nature and wildlife. At nights you can enjoy complete darkness and silence except birds singing, which is nice and calming. The creek with private access is perfect for a swim on a hot day and you can find turtles and platypuses there if you are lucky. Jan is a wonderful person, who truly loves nature and shares her knowledge with you if you are interested.

    Nikita2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful! So much space for the dogs to run around, beautiful bush walks, a crystal clear creek and a fantastic cottage. A lovely weekend away!

    Meg2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was hands down one of the most picturesque places I have ever stayed in. For the price I was certainly not expecting to be so comfortable and in such a beautiful place. Swims in crystal clear babinda creek, looking up at the Milky Way and watching the sunset over the mountains was the perfect way to turn off from the outside world. Jan was a super friendly and knowledgeable host and I very much enjoyed her local/ nature knowledge. 1000623.08 percent recommend this to anyone with a pulse.

  • Fantastic spot. Got all you could ask for. Great views of the river

    Craig2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Mulgrave River was an idyllic setting for an Air BnB. Breath-taking views surround you from every room. To top it off, Yvette was an incredible host. Gracious, generous, kind, and knowledgeable with an acuity for meeting the needs of people away from home. Thoughtful touches abound, including little nightlights to guide you on your midnight trip to the toilet. She had a wealth of knowledge about the area and provided an excellent itinerary for our family. To name just a few easy highlights, we visited Milla Milla Falls, Zillie Falls, Babinda Boulders, Josephine Falls and the Curtain Fig Tree on our drive through the Tablelands. We also saw Lake Eacham, which has a 1.5 km Childrens Walk and a longer 3 km walk around the lake. All sights are world-class destinations worthy of great expense, yet are free to enjoy. We planned to do the Frankland Island snorkeling cruise, which is a 5-minute walk from the Mulgrave River Boat House. Highly recommend the snorkeling tour...and you receive a discount for mentioning Yvettes place! It was pouring rain the day we went for our trip and Yvette very kindly drove to pick us up! Her dear husband Rick also drove to meet us with our son’s forgotten jacket. Truly salt of the earth kind of people. We are so grateful for our experience! Thank you Yvette and Rick! Our 8-year old says “They are really nice and if you have problems they’ll help you.” Truer words never spoken. :)

    Jessica2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This house totally exceeded my expectations ! Such a fabulous location, super comfortable, clean and the space had such a welcoming feel ! The hosts were absolutely fabulous and went above and beyond to make my stay perfect ! The serene view and location, were unbeatable and I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for some magic in deeral ! Can’t wait to come back again ! :)

    Kimberly2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Yvette greeted us for check-in with a warm hug and a bottle of wine. She's thought of all the right small touches, like milk for tea, some Ferrero roche (really spoiling us), water chilled in the fridge and even a book on local croc attacks. The accommodation is well placed as a base to explore the local watering holes (go to Josephine Falls and Babina Boulders), Cairns and the Frankland islands. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at Yvettes again!

    Bowen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts, keep to please. Amazing senary and close to many awesome places to visit

    Chris2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfy bed, aircon and fans. Beautiful location and handy to Frankland Island tour operator. Very friendly and knowledgeable host.

    Martin2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you want nice relaxing place to stay then this is it! Beautiful location next to Mulgrave river, I could sit all day out on the balcony and watch the boats go past. The Boat house is very spacious, comfy place. It has a great kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal and even a coffee machine for those morning coffees. The place is very clean and tidy, with those nice little touchers, such a travel guide, game boards, cooler bag, freezer blocks and picnic glasses, if you go for a picnic or day trip. Wine and chocolate on arrive! The place also had wifi and a smart TV in it, including Netflix, which is an extra bonus! Good for when you want to watch a Movie at night once the sunsets. This place is close to local attractions such as Babinda boulders, Josephine waterfalls, Paronella park (Must see!!), Lake Eacham and lots more. Communication between Yvette was great, quick response. We had an issue with hot water and they fix it within seconds. Yvette and Rick are very friendly and helpful couple, especially with suggestions for day trips and good local places to eat (Babinda kool spot café is a must). I have stayed at a few Airbnb places in Cairns over the years and this is the top one so far, I would defiantly recommend a stay here.

    Karyn2019-09-07T00:00:00Z

Unpack. Kick Back Relax. Comfortable room with air conditioning. You can hear the ocean at night and the birds welcoming the day The beach is a 3 minute walk. Hand rails at all entry access point and only 5 steps.
3 Minute walk to beach, which at certain times you will experience being alone in paradise . My location is Close to many waterfalls that are unique to this area. Enjoy peace and quite that this place offers.
It’s a quite beach community. A relaxing atmosphere. There is a boat ramp, bbq in Paperback Park. A small caravan park on the beach. I love the small quite privateness of beach here. It’s a great place to hear your thoughts.
  • Although I only stayed one night I loved the place and the location. The room was great. It's a secluded place that lets you wind down on a lovely beach and on a lovely porch from which you can see weird birds pass by and quarrel. Around the corner there's wildlife waiting for you to spot it. Sharon is a very hospitable and friendly lady who cares for her guests. Although our points of view diverge greatly on quite a number of topics, we had a good time together. I would definitely recommend Sharon's place to anyone who likes a bit of adventure and wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cairns.

    Bramston Beach, QLD, Australia

Four Winds Garden Retreat is a quiet a peaceful place situation in Far North Queensland tropical rain forests. Beautiful gardens and lots of wildlife and if you're lucky you may meet our local Cassowary! Situated 5 km from Bramston Beach, 11 km from Mirriwinni, 30 km from Innisfail and Babinda and approx 80 km south of Cairns. The location is quiet and peaceful with lots of bird life and easy access to many tourist attractions in the area, such as Josephine Falls, Babinda Boulders etc.
This is the 2nd Room available at Four Winds Garden Retreat. It has a double bed and access to a share bathroom, which has a spa if desired. Large veranda outside room, with forest views.
There are many unique spots nearby, BRAMSTON BEACH is 5 km away. The main part of the beach, adjacent to the camping area, has a rock groyne that has trapped the sand to build a wide, steep beach to the south, with a low, flat, eroding beach to the north. Toward Rocky Point, wider tidal flats replace the bar. The small Joyce Creek flows out against the point, with a breakwater partly protecting the creek, so as to allow small boats to reach the boat ramp inside the creek mouth. Swimming: A relatively safe beach with best swimming at mid to high tide, when the bar and tidal flats are covered. The patrolled area is immediately in front of the camping area and a stinger net is operated during the summer. Not far are places like EUBENANGEE WETLANDS The Eubenangee Swamp National Park is one of the most important wetland areas between Cooktown and Ingham. It contains a number of rare plant species and plays an important role in the conservation of the region’s wildlife, in particular birds. The swamp is one of the best bird watching spots in far north Queensland, but you will almost always spot butterflies, turtles and crocodiles as well. Turn off at Mirriwinni on to the Bramston Beach Road, and travel about 9 kilometers to the sign-posted turnoff. A 1 kilometre walking track allows visitors to explore Eubenangee’s fascinating wetlands and an outstanding view of Mt Bartle Frere. There are no facilities except for the walking track, and camping is not permitted. Admittance is free. BABINDA BOULDERS On a hot day,a dip in the infamous Babinda Boulders would certainly be refreshing. The pristine water that fills up the creek comes from Queensland’s highest mountain, Mount Bartle Frere. Besides that it is bounded by the wonderful shades of green coming from the thriving rainforest, visitors are said to enjoy this destination because the water remains cold even during the middle of the summer season. This is what makes Babinda Boulders ideal for battling the afternoon heat. The Babinda Boulders is also deemed as a spiritual place by the Aboriginal people. At the same time, the Cairns City Council has named it a sanctuary for various flora and fauna species. These are the two main considerations why visitors should be more wary while they are on this nature park’s premises. And of course, for the more obvious safety reasons since several accidents have occurred here before, particularly near the vicinity of the infamous Devil’s Pool. Visitors are expected to follow and respect the warning signs that are placed in certain areas that are steep and slippery. Among the several swimming holes, the Devil’s Pool Walk is the most talked about. As its name implies, getting there is not an easy task but with the proper attitude and discipline, it is certainly manageable. It can be reached through the lower region of the picnic area and from there you will be guided to a walk path that is located by the side of the Babinda Creek. The trail is approximately 1.3 kilometres in distance and challenging to some extent. The rocky pathway will show the way to the thick and blossoming rainforest that this place regularly boasts about. Two observation platforms can be found at the end of the trail. From there visitors can view the whole part of the creek and on one specific spot, the precarious Devil’s Pool Aside from swimming, picnicking is also a common visitor activity. Designated picnic areas can be found in several places within the nature park. Cooking is allowed as barbecue grills are equipped near the picnic areas. Visitors can enjoy the afternoon by just lounging around while admiring the beauty of the crystal clear water trying to make its way through the considerably huge boulders. Babinda Boulders is a suitable place to unwind as the experience can prove to be quite therapeutic. JOSEPHINE FALLS, Traditional country of the Ngadjon-Jii Travel south from Cairns to Mirriwinni (68km). Two kilometres past Mirriwinni, turn right into the signposted road to Josephine Falls. The car park is a further 8km along this road. From the car park follow a signposted 600m walk to the clean, clear waters of Josephine Creek that tumble off the slopes of Mt Bartle Frere. Platforms allow safe views of the falls. Wheelchair access is available to the viewing platform at the top pool and stairs lead down to the bottom pool. The water is surprisingly cold, and this has produced an unusually cool microclimate. You will be able to observe the Atherton Palm as well as the moisture-loving potato fern. No dogs are allowed in this National Park, and camping at the falls is prohibited. Caution and common sense are required during our wet season. There is the potential for flash flooding to occur, as well as sudden increases in water levels. Nevertheless, when the temperatures and the humidity are high, the falls are refreshingly cool and beautiful, and an excellent spot for a picnic. Don’t miss it! Josephine Falls is also the start point for the Bartle Frere hiking Track and the Broken Nose hiking track. GOLDEN HOLE, Golden Hole (Biggs Recreation Reserve) is located on the Russell River, 1.5 km from the Josephine Falls turnoff. It is located at the foot of Mt Bartle Frere, and has great views of Queensland’s tallest mountain. This recreation area has a large open grassed area with a covered picnic table. A toilet block is located nearby. The river is close by and is a popular fishing spot. Swimming and canoeing are also popular, but there is a crocodile warning sign posted. MOUNT BARTLE FRERE With an altitude of 1622 metres, Mount Bartle Frere is acknowledged as Queensland’s highest mountain. Various types of rainforest surround the whole of the hiking trail making it a shelter for the wildlife species. Adventurous backpackers are usually attracted to this hiking site not only because of the challenging trail but more importantly the view that you get to perceive once you reach the summit. The Aborigines call it Chooreechillum, but its common name was derived from the surname of the former British colonial bureaucrat, Sir Henry Bartle Frere, who was also Cape Colony’s acting British Governor when the Zulu Wars commenced. From there, it can be said that this mountain is associated with a somewhat important part of history making it more meaningful to climb. Situated within the Wooroonooran National Park, Mount Bartle Frere can be accessed through the hiking trail that starts in the car park of the Josephine Falls, which another common destination among visitors. From the parking area, it would take about 10-12 hours of walking (or roughly 15km in distance) to reach the mountain’s peak. Climbing this mountain is not just demanding because of the steep rocks and unstable weather conditions but more importantly, the orange markers that are placed to guide the hikers are rather tricky to recognize. First time hikers are usually prone to pursuing the wrong footpath and a number of visitors have actually went off course even during the earliest part of the trail. But even so, with the proper amount of prepping and cautiousness, hiking up Mount Bartle Frere could be one worthwhile experience especially when you get the opportunity to observe the coastal lowlands and the Atherton Tablelands from above. Camping on the mountain premises is allowable once you secure a permit from rangers. It is recommended to ascend during the colder season like winter since there is a small chance of rain during this time Another way to climb up this historic mountain is through the west side of the mountain, where a small camping site is positioned. With already an elevation of 700 m, hikers can accomplish the climb with less difficulty within the day. Bushwalking clubs regularly take advantage of this option during the months of June to October, when the weather condition is dry and cold. You can get to the starting point of this trail by driving through the Topaz and Gourka Roads.

Nancy made me feel like I was family, and it was another fantastic AirBNB experience. This was my first time in a 'Shared' space and it worked brilliantly. The tropical fruit salad for breakfast each morning was the highlight of each day. Highly recommended 10/10!

  • This house is amazing with a spectacular view. Monica was very helpful and prompt with the replies. Very clean, the BBq was great with a pool to relax in. Even a safe area for kids to play at the bottom of back balcony. Would definitely stay again. Mars

    Marie2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house in a perfect setting, very clean & comfortable.

    Jean2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a relaxing time staying here with our family. The house is spacious and modern, and the upstairs bedroom has the most amazing views! The gardens are beautiful too, and the pool a refreshing splash to cool down. Couldn’t be happier - already looking forward to coming back :)

    Isaac2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time as a family. Monica gave us info about the area and allowed us to prepare our time away. With only a small corner store food shopping and planning is essential for a hassle free family holiday. We were advise prior to our holiday so had time to plan and prepare. The surroundings are gorgeous and the pool allows you to enjoy the tropics without the worry of crocs or stingers. It’s close to cairns but far enough away to clock off and relax!

    Sarah2019-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stunning home in an amazing location. Very highly recommended!

    Libby2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute bliss! Monica's place is even better in real life, than on the pages of AirBnb. A mere hop, skip & jump to the beach, and if the warm waters of the Coral Sea are too much for you, then a refreshing dip in the pool is just what the doctor ordered. The smells & sounds of the tropics are all here, be it the soothing sounds of the sea lulling you to sleep at night, or the tropical birds chirping & cawing. This modern house, has all the mod cons required for a relaxing care free break, and only an hour South of Cairns. Some small touches that would have made it perfect, would be some basic food staples i.e: olive oil, tomato sauce, jam, vegemite, milk, & more tea. Also, being environmentally minded, we were a little surprised there wasn't a glass/paper recycling bin. All-in-all though, these are very minor items, which in no way distracted from what is a great getaway destination - we'll definitely be back!

    Matt2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really nice and confortable, and it is like it looks in the pictures. We add a great time in the house, and the host was always very nice, helpful and respond to the mails with all the question. We do recommend to stay in the house.

  • We got stuck because of the flooding in North Queensland, and had to stay in Babinda for the night. Margaret & heu staff was very nice to everyone, and they helped a lot for finding places to sleeps for all people in our situation. The building has a great atmosphere.

  • This place is truly wonderful. What an amazing location! The house was absolutely fabulous for our large family of grown up children. Stunning outdoor area to relax together, a large kitchen to create meals to share and plenty of separate space for solo time as well. Check in and communication were seamless. I highly recommend this place and hope to return again one day.

Craving to just get away from it all and do nothing but relax and enjoy the seclusion of the beach only metres away - then Seaview @ Bramston is waiting for you! And all within an hours drive south of the Cairns Airport.
Newly renovated (except the retro tiles in the lounge!) and directly opposite the beach and playground of the incredibly peaceful Bramston Beach. It ideally suits 5 people, however there is a sofa bed available in the dining area (although please note that it is a small double bed, so please consider this when booking). Beach towels, pool noodles, blanket/rug & kids sand toys are all available for your use at the beach. I expect this is where you will be spending most of your time, or relaxing with a good book and drink on the patio! Feel free to bring your boat!!! (although no bigger than around 6m, as the creek is tidal), and discover the beautiful Frankland Islands and surrounding reefs - as well as some fantastic fishing!
A small, quiet community that leaves you to enjoy the seclusion of the location! Please consider all council campground signage and do not enter the grounds. There is a path to the right of the playground, which is where you access the beach from, which takes you directly to the stinger net enclosure (during summer months).

  • Fantastic location. Exactly as described. We had a great stay in this home. Perfect for beach holiday. Not many shops around so bring supplies but there is plenty of fridge and freezer space. Plenty of bedding. Stress free holiday :)

  • We enjoyed our stay (2 guests) in the Bramston Beach Hut, which is just a short walk to the beach. The house has all the facilities needed for a self-catering holiday but bring your own food or shop in Babinda or Mirriwinni on the way. There is an outdoor eating area with a bar, which is a good spot for hanging out in the evenings. We found it very good value and a home from home. Natalie responded to all enquiries extremely quickly. Apart from the beach, there is plenty to explore in the area. Check out the easy walk at the Eubenangee Swamp, leading through rainforest to a hill with amazing views over the waterlily-dotted lakes of the swamp lands.

    Helen2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at this house, with the beach a short leisurely stroll away and a safe fishing spot for the kids within a few minutes drive. There was plenty of bedding, towels and cooking equipment, which made it very easy to be comfortable and make ourselves at home. The outside undercover area was great for eating and I liked the outside toilet and bathroom to put the kids through the shower after being at the beach.
