Places to stay in Boughton Aluph
This newly renovated barn is nestled within the grounds of the listed Evegate Manor.
Situated in the heart of the Kentish countryside it offers easy access to London via Ashford international station, is just 10 mins drive from the Channel Tunnel and 25 mins from Dover. Canterbury is just 20 min away and offers a great nightlife with bars and restaurants. The barn has one double bedroom but also has a double bed settee within the living area. This would not be particularly comfortable for adults but would be fine for children or one adult. Guests have the opportunity to be completely independent within this property. There is a fully working modern kitchen within the barn with a convection hot plate, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a large American fridge freezer, breakfast is not provided. Unfortunately there is no washing machine or tumble dryer within the barn but there are facilities in another area that are available for use at a small additional cost. We are a very friendly and accommodating family and are happy to make our guests part of the family. Any help or advice whilst you are here is no problem to us. The area we live in is very rural but is still within easy reach of towns and city's. London is just 37 mins away if you chose to use he high speed rail like from Ashford.

  • Couldn't recommend this place any more if I tried. We went here for my partners 21st for a quiet night away, prior to my visit I messaged Larissa asking of she could decorate the place and j would transfer the money. It was as if nothing was a problem for them, we arrived to a beautifully clean and decorated cottage with a bottle of prosecco and a cake! Everything we could have needed was there aside from dinner! Even down to the last bit of cotton buds and razors! Breakfast was provided as was a s small snack hamper. Hosts are very attentive and answer messages and are so helpful so quickly. Honestly, a fantastic experience and would happily return!

  • Awesome property and location, friendly owner with various farm animals and cats. Brilliant it’s dog friendly but they must be kept on lead when outside for obvious reasons. An amazing stay.

  • Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Larissa is a very thoughtful host and the location was perfect if you want a quiet weekend away. Would definitely recommend and we already want to go back for a longer stay.

A top-notch conversion of a small flint and brick cart shed alongside a beautifully restored 300-yearold oak barn. It feels private too, with its own little courtyard garden, colourful borders, terracotta pots, teak table and chairs – catch the morning rays with an al fresco breakfast. Inside all is fresh, bright, light and comfortable. Beautiful oak floors are toasty underfoot, there are chunky beams, thick fabrics, white sofas, French doors out the courtyard and heaps of books. The bedroom makes great use of the space with its fine painted bed, so settle down with best linen, feather and down duvets, views across the garden, and a fully-tiled walk-in shower that’s state of the art. A generous welcome basket includes a bottle of wine should you be staying the week, the flat-screen TV comes with oodles of DVDs, there’s a fully equipped kitchen in one corner and kind owners next door to provide continental breakfast or evening meals should you want them; lovers will take root. There’s walking through woods and paths for the more adventurous, and Canterbury Faversham and Whitstable are near. Nearby Ashford has high speed train link to london only 38 miutes away. Charming.
We are located in a listed "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" surrounded by fields and woods...mainly sweet Chestnut. There are plenty of good walks in the area including the famous "Pilgrims Way". Just wandering around the local country lanes with hedgerow wildlife, farms and country pubs is highly recommended. This is true "Darling Buds of May" country.
  • Very kind and understanding folk. Would stay again!

  • Scott and Lizzie's place was absolutely lovely. Sparkling clean and high spec furnishings, really peaceful and private. In saying that I always felt that the host was very approachable and on hand to help with any questions or requests. Homemade biscuits and jam were a lovely touch and the eggs were brilliant, super fresh. The property was in easy location for long walks in Kings Wood and accessible for Canterbury and the surrounding areas. Really fantastic and thank you so much for letting us lie in after sampling too much of the Kentish wine!

    Lauren2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Cart Shed is a wonderful little bolthole in a beautiful setting. Perfectly equipped, cosy, clean - it had everything you could need. Scott and Lizzie were hospitable and welcoming hosts - I'll definitely be back!

  • Just got back from spending New Year at Scott and Lizzie’s Cart Shed. Cannot rate it highly enough, we had a fantastic time. All the extra touches (bread, milk, homemade jams, homemade cakes) made it even more special!

    Will2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely couple & place to stay. Fresh bread, eggs and homemade jam were waiting for our family on arrival. Amazing hospitality, thank you.

Luxurious contemporary oak framed grade 2 listed barn with annex lying in an area of outstanding natural beauty, between Canterbury and whitstable. Perfect for entertaining, large hot tub, open plan living area with log fire and distant sea views. Well equipped kitchen. Walk in fridge. Sleeps 18 people. Coal BBQ. Pool table. Nespresso coffee machine with 10 free capsules. Outside log burner. Parking for 8 cars. Non smoking.
The annex (bedroom 6) is only to be used if 17 or 18 guests staying. Next to the barn is a working farm so please bear this in mind. Any pets agreed with us to stay please be aware that there is animals in nearby fields and they will be shot if they attack any animals. Please note; Bedroom 1&2 are linked by a door. Bedroom 4 has one single with one day bed. Bedroom 5 has bunk beds with one single. The two Z beds are on wheels and can be placed where guests chose.
Heel Farm Barn is in the most perfect location. Set next to a small working farm in the middle of the Kent countryside, your neighbours are the sheep. The local pub is a 15 minute country walk. Canterbury is only a 15 minute car ride. Whitstable is a 20 minute car ride. All you need for a great getaway.
  • The house is so beautiful and spacious, perfect for our work weekend away. The hosts were super helpful at answering all my questions in the lead up to our stay. We had a lovely walk to the pub on Saturday afternoon and all 15 of us had a great time, so thank you Ruth & Francesco!

    Frances2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is lovely, nice interiors and very cool for bigger groups as the kitchen and living room areas are all connected and the jacuzzi is right outside. The big fireplace is cozy and amazing to sit around and the pool table keeps the group entertained. We brought many boardgames and a playstation so had plenty of entertainment and didn’t need to leave the house. We had a great time at Ruth’s place. Just be aware that it’s not very handy to stay with many couples as there are only 2 private double bedrooms. An additional room can be used as a couples room when pushing the single beds together and if you are only 14 you can use the family room as a couples room and leave the two beds upstairs unused. So then you can fit 4 couples in but if you’re 16 or more with more than 3 couples wanting a private room it might be a bit tricky.

  • Everything about Vivienne’s place was amazing, much better than we expected. 5* for hospitality and the kindness. The host Vivienne is a genuine person who does her upmost to ensure you enjoy your stay. Enzo her dog is the cutest and most friendly who adores all other dogs and it’s so calming to wake up to the free roaming chickens. Remote location, romantic and loads to do in the surrounding areas (if you like to walk/have a dog etc). Even if you are looking for a quiet weekend away to just escape city life - it’s perfect. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back! :)

  • Lovely peaceful stay at the stables, just what we were hoping for! Cute cottage with amazing breakfast supplies and great communication with Vivienne. Thank you very much.

  • My dearest Vivienne, Many thanks for the great hospitality, and amazing chats! You have the kindest heart and your generosity shows on every single stay! I always feel welcome and leave well rested - always look forward to my next stay! Many thanks for everything!! Take good care of yourself!

    Sema2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect location for a cosy weekend in the country. Vivienne gave a very warm welcome and made us feel at home straight away. Our cockapoo loved playing with Enzo too. Very close to Rye (lovely old town with shops and cafes) and some lovely beaches for walks including Rye Harbour and Cambasands. Great pubs for a drink or relaxing meal nearby - the woolpack was a favourite, reasonably priced and excellent quality and service. Dogs allowed too! Vivienne very kindly provides breakfast options and other treats which is such lovely touch. We also enjoyed watching the chickens (and master goose) running around the farm. 10/10 xx

    Lana2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible place! The barn was warm and cosy with absolutely everything you could need and a fantastic breakfast spread thrown in that I wasn't expecting! The farm setting is gorgeous, Vivienne was super friendly and offered loads of helpful local tips and her crazy little puppy Enzo quickly became best mates with my crazy little puppy and they chased each other round the farm having a wonderful time! All this in a beautiful, unspoilt corner of the country, highly recommended!

    Jonny2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a brilliant weekend despite storm Dennis! The stable block was lovely, Vivienne was a very welcoming host and the village is beautiful. Definitely recommend to stay here, you won’t be disappointed! X

  • A truly lovely space with so many thoughtful touches which was perfect for a relaxing stay. Our host Vivienne was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and her dog was the friendliest chap! We were there for the scary storm but felt very safe and cosy throughout. Will definitely return - I can imagine it's amazing in the summer.

The accommodation comprises of a large comfortable living space with a wood burner, soft seating, a TV and high speed internet access. The one bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed and has an ensuite shower and WC. The living room also has a comfortable 4' wide sofa bed, which would be suitable for two extra people. With a choice of walking distances varying from a 20 minute stroll to a two-hour hike, there is always a pub at the end! The coast too is within easy reach; the nearest beach being at Hythe and a little further on you reach the wind swept Romney Marshes and Camber Sands. The historic city of Canterbury is just a 20 minute drive away.

  • Katy and Brian's place truly deserves five stars all round: unique, peaceful, cozy, charismatic and ecologically friendly. With amazing hospitality to match. What more could you want? Literally, faultless. My girlfriend and I were able to completely relax; made possible by our hosts friendly, welcoming and helpful manner. We were bowled over and fell in love with the place. And can't wait to return. (Cracking Indian restaurant not far as well)

  • Our little girl likes to choose a tiny house for us to stay in every now and again. This time she chose Pendana. I’m so happy she did, we all had a wonderful time. It was easy to keep in contact with Katy leading up to our trip, and Brian was home to settle us in on arrival. Pendana is much bigger than it looks and is full of thoughtful touches. It was great!

A unique country cottage steeped in history with links to the Plantagenet Kings of England! It's tucked away, surrounded by mature gardens that overlook the Eastwell Manor Country Estate. Plantagenet Cottage is newly refurbished, spacious, very private & relaxing with a certain English charm & character. Our heated pool is great in Summer [closed in Winter]. Enjoy the beautiful Kent countryside, great pubs, a nearby Spa, beaches, Canterbury and more - or simply just chill out at the cottage !
**NEW** There's now a Champney's Spa at Eastwell Manor which is very close to us [8min walk 2 min drive] ** Please ask us about this if you're interested in using it ** Note re: Bed configurations: Bedroom 1 & 2 can both be made up as either 1 x SuperKing OR 2 x Singles [not both]. Bedroom 2 also has a pull-out mattress to accommodate a 7th person / child. It is only made up on request [small additional fee] - The Cottage is generally best suited to 6 people. Plantagenet Cottage dates back to the 16th Century and local legend says it was built by the 'illegitimate' son of King Richard the 3rd [the last Plantagenet King of England; he's the one they found under the car park in Leicester more recently]. We call one of the bedrooms "Richard's Room" [which has a Kingsize bed in it]. There are some books and an old transcript describing the History at the cottage - it's a great story ! The tomb of our Richard [the natural Plantagenet heir to the throne of England] still lies in the ruins of nearby St Mary's church of Eastwell which makes for a nice walk.
The cottage is tucked away in a very unique and secluded spot, so offers privacy but is still within easy reach of local amenities. It is nestled on the edge of a small village called Boughton Aluph which surrounds a central cricket green and traditional Kentish pub which is a short stroll away. Our property overlooks the picturesque sheep filled grounds of the Eastwell Manor Estate & Hotel which can be seen in the distance [which itself boasts fine dining, a spa, golf course, indoor pool and a huge lake]. Nearby is the practical thriving town of Ashford, and the wonderful historic city of Canterbury, the nature filled South Downs and many a traditional Kentish country pub and an abundance of cycling trails at nearby Kingswood and many stunning walks. The seaside towns of Whitstable, Rye, Herne Bay and the sandy beaches at Camber are all near enough for day trips, as is central London.
  • This place is a little bit of heaven. It’s within its own beautiful grounds and surrounded by beautiful Countryside around that. It’s secluded but not cut off. Short car journeys to lots of other places of interest but better still, lots of walks on your doorstep, so you can abandon your car and stay rural! Very well equipped kitchen and sundries, with a little welcome pack. Bedrooms and beds themselves, a lovely size, all clean and fresh with beautiful outlook onto surrounding garden.

    Vince2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place Fantastic countryside! Very kid and dog friendly,we will definitely come back!

    Dave2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We travelled from London for a quiet break for a 40th chilled break. This place is ideal if you just want to fully relax and try local food. Ive never lit a log fire in my life but Tim video called and talked me through it and I can now say im a pro ;-) We would definitely come back. Maybe for a longer stay and take advantage of the spa which is on the doorstep and do some shopping. Thanks guys. Oh and the beds are absolutely lush. Everyone slept well. I think the kids would love this. Perfect place for summer or winter breaks

    Kiran2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We all (6 of us) had such a lovely weekend away in the cottage. The garden is much larger than expected which was a nice surprise! Can't recommend this place enough to those looking for a short relaxing break. Tim and Maite provided so much useful information as well! One of my favourite Air BnBs I've stayed at!

    Jeremy2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the property exceeded expectation. We loved spending time by the pool and had a fun time exploring the grounds. The house was perfectly equipped for a birthday weekend, with great cooking facilities like the BBQ. The house was clean and really cosy, but still had plenty of space to fit all 7 of us. Tim and Maite kept in contact before, during and after the stay and I couldn't ask for nicer hosts who were both accommodating and understanding.

    Holly2019-09-21T00:00:00Z

While the bedroom I rented was quite small, I was still very comfortable for the price. Miss Chris was helpful in answering any questions about the area and things to do in Chartham and Canterbury. If you are looking to commute into Canterbury, there is a beautiful bike trail into the city as well as a bus stop only a short walk from their house.

Stay in the Artist's Barn! Set in a beautiful garden in the charming village of Wye, the Barn is a delightful place to spend the night and escape from the world. It's a unique experience, filled with lovely paintings, porcelain cows, a miniature doll's house, and all sorts of unexpected delights. An ideal way to experience life in an English village, or explore the countryside of East Kent, and the nearby sights of Canterbury and Dover.
The Barn has a sofa bed which converts into a very confortable double bed. There is a small sink and a separate bathroom with shower and loo. Tea and coffee is provided, and breakfast is available at the King's Head pub across the Green, the Coffee Shop, or you can get fresh croissants at the nearby Baker.
Wye is a quintessential British village. You'll love strolling the quaint high street, which is only two minutes' walk away, to experience life at the village pub, pick up some warm buns from the bakery in the morning, or stroll through the churchyard. It's a perfect place to use as a base for longer trips to Canterbury (check out the cathedral), Dover (see the famous cliffs!), or a wander through the Downs. There is a farmer's market right outside on the Green every first and third Saturday of the month, where you can pick up Kentish produce including bread, cheese, jams, and snacks, as well as locally-made crafts.

Situated on the outskirts of Aldington village, which boasts a freshfoods butcher-cum-fishmonger, post office and pub, it is well placed for visiting East Kent and beyond and is only 8 miles (15 minutes) from the Channel Tunnel. Ruffyneshill Cartshed is available for holiday or short-term let. The property has a designated area in the adjoining medieval walled garden for guests to enjoy outdoor meals. It overlooks the beautiful 16th century Ruffynes Barn. The accommodation comprises a living room with dining area and TV, a separate small but fully equipped kitchen with a small combi-microwave oven, washing-up & washing machines, bedroom with a further TV and shower room. Cristina2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We booked in very late, and Sophie was very quick to respond which was great, as we were stressfully finding somewhere for our family. The place had great boxes of toys for the kids to play with and dvds, books etc. She had left some lovely touches and and Christmas tree. Was perfect for us really, well recommended, Ben

  • Thank you Sophie for our stay! It is a great, stylish house near the centre of Faversham - I would definitely stay again!

  • It was great to stay at this place, minutes walking from the train station, very quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable, with an additional bedding so I was always warm at night. The kitchen is big, there is a lot of space in the fridge as well. Again, everything is very clean which for me made my stay very comfortable. Robert and his wife are super nice people! I would totally recommend to stay at their place.

Blind Cottage is a newly renovated, open plan, self contained annexe. It is wonderfully light, benefiting from large windows and French doors throughout. Relax in the wonderful roll top bath, curl up in the conservatory or enjoy a coffee on the patio which overlooks our wood. The perfect stepping stone to explore the Garden of England.
Please note that the bedroom can be made up as two singles or one kingsize bed. We also have a travel cot.
Challock is a wonderful village located in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' in the middle of the ancient King's Wood. We have a post office, farm shop, cafe and a pub in the village and plenty more fabulous pubs nearby. We are 20 mins from the historic city of Canterbury, from the market town of Faversham and the beautiful seaside town of Whitstable. Beautiful beaches and a multitude of vineyards are all within reach and Ashford's Designer Outlet Centre is only 8 miles away.
  • We had a really great stay. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, lovely decor, comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and great location. We really enjoyed spending time in front of the fire doing the Tintin jigsaw provided. Great to enjoy the fresh eggs left for us aswell!

  • We stayed at Millie’s cottage as a surprise weekend swag for my husband’s birthday. Millie was very responsive throughout and even decorated the living room with a birthday banner as part of the surprise. As other guests have noted, the cottage is even nicer than the photos in real life - very clean, spacious, a great mix of modern and cosy and the wood burner is perfect for the evenings (we stayed during a storm and it was lovely to curl up in front of it at night!). The extra touches - breakfast and dinner essentials, bathrobes, a well-equipped kitchen, tips on places to visit nearby and a high-chair for our toddler - were all very much appreciated. It was also reassuring that the hosts live in the adjoining house, so any issues they were close by. A great stay, and highly recommend!

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cottage to stay in, much larger than it looks in the photos, spotlessly clean and stylishly furnished. We loved the massive comfy sofa, tv with Netflix, and log burner and Millie kindly left a welcome basket with milk, eggs from her hens and bread. The kings head and Wife of Bath in Wye were both great for food, and for an amazing roast it’s worth heading a bit further afield to the Fordwich Arms near Canterbury. Millie went above and beyond to be a perfect host and I can’t recommend her place highly enough.

    Mara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend stay. The cottage is gorgeous, absolutely immaculate and full of those personal touches that really make a great stay. Millie couldn't have been more welcoming and was very quick to respond to messages. Would highly recommend!

    Matthew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely the perfect weekend spot with an excellent mix of cosy and contemporary. The kitchen came fully equipped with some basic breakfast goods (eggs, bread, milk etc.) to start your day. The Living Room was cosy and spacious with a log burner to keep you warm whilst you watch movies on the smart TV. The extra little touches of the board games were an added bonus! The bedroom was snug and had a very comfortable bed. Connected to the bedroom is the mini conservatory that leads on to the private patio. The Bathroom was exceptionally clean and had a very large bathtub to relax in. Overall, Millie's cottage was absolute perfection and we would definitely recommend others to stay here.

Entire house, sleeps four/six. Attic room double bed available for extra £20 / night A beautiful little house with an enclosed courtyard, located in the heart of Wye village. A cosy base for rural adventures or to simply curl up with TV, cat and woodburner. The beautiful village boasts four pubs, church, butcher, baker, coop and a farmer's market that is held fortnightly . Train links to London, Canterbury and the Kent coast. There is a cat "Doran" who needs feeding and lets himself in and out.
My charming house is nestled in the Kentish village of Wye. A secret entrance next to the post office takes you through an enclosed courtyard, a lovely place to sit and enjoy cakes from the bakery around the corner. Twice monthly there is Wye farmer's market right outside the courtyard, which is a vibrant community tradition. The house has an alternative and cosy feel to it, created with romance and fun in mind. In winter, the log burning stove adds warmth and comfort. In Summer the courtyard can be a real sun trap; the house by comparison is blissfully cool. There are wooden floors downstairs and new carpets upstairs with a winding wooden gallery staircase leading up to the attic bedroom. My house sleeps 4 comfortably in 2 double bedrooms. The attic room is my daughter's but she will not be there. There is one bathroom on the first floor and a separate toilet downstairs.Free WIFI. There is unlimited parking in Wye, but just outside the house it is restricted to half an hour between the hours of 9 and 5. Living area: Flat screen TV with Amazon and Netflix. Piano. Open plan Kitchen: Electric hob and oven, fridge freezer and washing machine. Bathroom Rainfall shower over a Japanese style sit bath, heated towel rail. Bedroom : Super king size pallet bed. Large flat screen TV with Amazon and Netflix. Electric drum kit. View over courtyard. Bedroom: Double bed. Street view Attic room: Artist's studio in action! Double pallet bed. 1970's swinging chair. Views of Wye church. Courtyard garden: Secluded sun trap with table and chairs and large potted plants
Wye is a conservation village, 12 miles from Canterbury and 5 miles from Ashford. In March 2013 the village was voted 3rd best place to live in the UK by The Sunday Times. Wye is nestled under the North Downs in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The North Down's Way is a popular walking route. Food: Chinese takeaway Indian takeaway King's head does lovely coffee and food and opens at 0800 for breakfast Wye coffee shop and kitchen opens at 830 for breakfast Butchers Bakers Coop Other: Post office Hair dressers Chemist Beauty therapist Walks: There are many beautiful walks from Wye, walking maps will be in the kitchen. Kings Wood is just up the road and is a popular place, especially in bluebell season.

  • This house is a haven of peace. And Toria is very caring with you.

    Sylvain2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is tucked away in an idyllic village very well situated for London. Great restaurants and pubs round the corner and a good little farmers market right outside the door Saturday morning. The cottage is very cosy and well organised. The bath shower has a high step in fine for anybody with normal mobility but challenge for older people with limited mobility. A great find all considered

    Chris2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Toria's place is an absolute gem. A truly beautiful home, full of character and charm. Quiet location in a sleepy village. Easy parking nearby and a co-op with everything you might need. The log burner was perfect for the cold soggy weather when we visited (October) but there was a gorgeous outdoor courtyard too that would be great in the summer. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Two good sized bedrooms. Child friendly. Excellent host with great comms. Can't recommend highly enough!

    Alanna2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a cosy cottage with everything that entails then look no further. The whole house is fascinating with even a cat to curl up with. A great place to explore this part of Kent. Don’t be put off by the parking restrictions just outside- we had no problems whatsoever.

    Rosie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This space is perfect for a couple. In a beautiful location the pictures don’t do it justice. The place was spotless throughout and included all the kitchen essentials like washing up liquid, oil salt pepper etc. The double bed was big and very comfortable. The bathroom was ultra modern and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Although we were there in late December the central heating kept us snuggly warm. The host Robin was amazing so friendly and helpful.

    Lawrence2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding rental in an architecturally designed apartment. The space is a wonderful blend of old and new. Entirely designed and built from the ground up which is evident in the high level of finishing. All of this plus open views across the lovely treed gardens to the Wye valley beyond. It is amazing to think that you're only 10 mins away by car from all the shops and connections you would ever need. The apartment offers everything you could wish for with stylish tweaks and touches throughout. A lovely cosy retreat for a break or a romantic weekend. Fantastic value and would recommend without reservation!

Welcome to my cosy little home. If you want to explore Faversham and the Kent coast and countryside, this is a good place to start. I have a single neat room to lay your head and your back pack. I'm a stones throw from the creek, country walks and a short stroll into this gorgeous historic town. Pubs galore and a diary full of summer festivals and street fairs. Log fires in the winter. I am very happy to agree a longer stay if your job brings you to the area.
As you can see from the photos, Summer and Buddy are house mates, so probably best to like dogs. They are friendly and love guests.
  • Great cosy place to stay. Susan and her dogs are excellent hosts made me feel very welcome. Highly recommended!

  • Susan, Buddy and Summer are the best hostess I’ve ever had. I spend 2 weeks in Faversham and living together was perfect. The house is beautiful and is in a quiet part of Faversham. The room is very comfortable and it feels you like at home. The only negative thing I can say that it was a shame not to be able to stay longer. It was a pleasure meeting you. See you soon!

The beamed Barn is fully renovated to an exceptional standard and is set in the beautifully landscaped grounds of a typical converted Kentish Oast House. There is an open plan living space on the Ground Floor, with comfortable sitting area with chesterfield sofas; a large dining table and chairs; and a huge, fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs there is a large bedroom with beamed cathedral roof and super king size bed; a mezzanine bedroom with twin beds; & bathroom with luxurious waterfall shower.
The location is an easy 40 minute drive from Royal St. Georges Golf Club at Sandwich and thus, with its additional proximity to the historic city of Canterbury and its fashionable seaside port of Whitstable, is an ideal spot for a holiday in combination with The Open Golf Championship in July 2020. The Barn will be exclusively yours to enjoy throughout your stay. The fully equipped kitchen has hobs, conventional oven, a microwave oven, and an American style fridge/freezer so you will have all you need to cater for yourselves. A welcome pack of essentials for breakfast for the first 2 days of your stay will be waiting for you. A combi washer/dryer is available for your use in the utility room which is attached to the barn. Underfloor heating keeps the space toasty warm at all times, and there are large exterior shutters for your privacy and security. The luxurious shower in the bathroom offers overhead spray and waterfall functions as well as direct body sprays. The property is No Smoking, and pets are not permitted. The property is also not suitable for young children because of the open stairs, and consideration should also be taken of the mezzanine sleeping area above the open plan living area. There is WiFi and Sky television, with Sky Sports and Sky Cinema.
Fisher Street Oast is very quietly situated surrounded by farmed open countryside often cultivated with flowering alternative crops such as echium, borage, linseed or marigolds. There is a plethora of footpaths and bridleways in the immediate vicinity, so there are wonderful walks directly from the property - including Perry Wood which attracts walkers from across East Kent. Although peacefully located, the property is close both to the motorway network and High Speed rail services to central London. The Eurotunnel terminal and ferry services from Dover to continental Europe are only a 25 minute drive away. The mediaeval market town of Faversham and historic Cathedral City of Canterbury are 10 and 20 minutes drive respectively. Within 45 minutes drive there are many historic houses and gardens open to the public for most of the year - including Hever Castle (family home of King Henry VIIIs second wife Anne Boleyn; Chartwell (private home of Sir Winston Churchill); Bateman's (home of the author and poet Rudyard Kipling); Dover Castle; the Roman Fort and mediaeval church towers at Reculver; Great Dixter (gardens of the world renowned Christopher Lloyd; Godinton House and gardens.

  • We stayed at the barn over Christmas as a base to visit local relatives. It was the perfect home from home; beautifully decorated, immaculately presented and in a fabulous location close to lovely Faversham and the shopping and transport links of Ashford. Diane and Robbie were on hand to welcome us and help us with any queries about the property and local amenities. They also provided thoughtful touches such as a generous breakfast basket and bottle of bubbly. Highly recommended.

  • We had such a fantastic stay with Diane and Robbie. They were so welcoming and friendly and the little personal touches really made our stay special. We can't wait to come and stay again! Thanks for having us 😁

  • This is a superb home from home - Diane and Robbie have developed a fantastic countryside spot and are great hosts too...if you need a peaceful spot in rural North Kent, this is it!

  • Diane's place is in a lovely peaceful spot in a brilliant location for country walks and just a short drive to explore historic surrounding areas such as Faversham. They were incredibly flexible on check in times and greeted us warmly on arrival. There are lots of great information packs and maps for guests to use. The barn itself is immaculate and stylish with lots of space to cook and relax. It was a lovely base for a restful weekend away and would recommend!

  • We booked this place due to proximity of location from Chunnel and private parking. It has private entrance and we were lucky not to have anyone in the other bedroom since it was a shared bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the French press in the kitchen was a nice touch. Walking distance to bars and restaurants in town

  • Laura was very welcoming and happy to share her amenities with me. I enjoyed the breakfast and the location was very good - 15 minute walk to the railway station and 5 minutes into the town.
