  • Beautiful house. Authentic Irish experience! Thank you both for your hospitality. We both thoroughly enjoyed it!

  • Two wonderful relaxing days spent in this little hideaway, a quaint country cottage beautifully furnished, in Patricia's own Potters yard, with little treasures to be found on window sill, gate or ground. The willow gateway to the little garden where the hen hutch resides and a secret escape of a willow hut if needed. The cockerel sounded the morning awake and the hens flanked him wherever he went, not bothered by the resident cat. I chose to have my breakfast with a sea view in Kilmore quay which was very close, and spent the rest of my time exploring. I would happily return to potters yard and be very glad to recommend it.

  • Patricia and Ultan were extremely welcoming helpful and accommodating, and the cottage was by far the most charming, well equipped and comfortable living space we came across in all our airbnb travels so far! South Wexford was very lovely as well! We would highly recommend visiting Patricia and Ultan.

  • The apartment is nice but needs additions to make it comfortable for staying.

  • The Potter’s Barn was a lovely addition to our trip. The location is quaint and Patricia is an excellent host. The cottage is very well kept, as well as the surrounding property, with nice personal touches throughout. Thank you for a lovely stay! Would visit again in the future.

  • The place is very cosy. My husband and I felt at home at soon as we got there. GPS guided us throughout the way without any problems. We spend two nights at Patricia's cottage but we wanted to stay longer there. It was great to have a time off and just relax. Thanks for having us, Patricia!!

    Fernanda2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed a lovely night! Patricia was awesome and flexible with our check in time which was greatly appreciated!

  • Patricia place is very clean and comfy. It's a great place for a couple, but for more than 2 people, the sofa bed is not very comfortable.

  • We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage near Kilmore Quay. The hosts were really helpful. The cottage itself is beautiful, very spacious with a lovely big garden. The cottage is in a very quiet area, but close to everything you might need. The local village is a short walk, with shops, a cafe etc. And it is a short drive to lots of lovely villages, including Kilmore Quay, with it's beautiful beach. I would highly recommend it and hope to stay here again.

  • Nice cosy place, had a great weekend and the apple juice the host provided was amazing

  • Mareike's place was a real 'home' from home for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and certainly want to return at some point in the future.

  • Great host, beautiful sorroundings and confortable house.

    Silvia2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, Enjoyed it very much, quiet location. Come to the coastline and the Saltee Islands. I would recommend this place.

    Victor2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • A very homely house with a garden that is totally undersold in the brochure! Garden is huge and enclosed and perfect for small people to spend hours exploring. Location was perfect for our needs, a nice short walk into Bridgetown for breakfast or takeaway or shop. Downstairs bedroom is enormous, plenty of space for a family of 4. There was no microwave which is the only thing we missed, but everything else was great

    Teresa2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mareike's house was lovely. The place had a Scandinavian-type feel to it, in that it was quite minimalist decor but has everything you need. I don't think you could really stay here without hiring a car. Getting about would be difficult, although maybe not impossible but we didn't try. It's quite close to Bridgetown which had a lovely cafe where we had breakfast the one morning. This was recommended by Mareike upon arrival where she had left a business card and some snacks (they were devoured!) and some juices from the local farm. We arrived late but there was no problem but for the darkness down the road where the house was located. We thought we were in the right place but I had to resort to looking at the picture to find identifiable markings to work out which house it was as there were a couple along the road. All in all a lovely property and the hosts were very contactable and helpful.

Location is great. We have 2 toddlers and explored the surrounding area by car. Kilmore quay, Curracloe beach, Wexford town, heritage park, hook lighthouse. Perfect for a family break. Completely no phone signal in the house which was made clear beforehand so no problem but just in case you didn't read that! Little shop within walking distance for the basics. Quick responses from the host too.

  • My wife and young son stayed here for a week at the start of July. What you see is what you get, a traditional cottage with loads of class and a great chill out area out the back! We had a great time making plenty of local day trips from Kilmore. It's close to a really family friendly pub - Mary Barrys - and a beautiful local beach.

    Brian2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a really nice place to chill out and enjoy the area. Fully recommend!

    Carmen2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Picturesque cottage in a beautiful part of Wexford . Finished to a very high standard, really cozy with all of the facilities that you’d need . Right next door to a fantastic pub that serves the best seafood.

  • We had a fantastic weekend in this beautiful cottage in Kilmore. It's in a perfect location, right beside Mary Barry's (delicious) and Quigley's pub. The cottage is really lovely with a bright, sunny back garden and gorgeous interiors and showers you could stay in all day! Location, accessability and comfort is top notch and I will be recommending to anyone heading to Co. Wexford!

    Judy2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and location to stay. Excellent tips from the host. No WiFi but suppose that’s a good thing!

    Clare2018-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place, the photos are very telling! Everything was great and top notch ... except the parking is right on the road ... a little too close for comfort with cars flying by ... very tough to exit the house small parking space safely ... but you can park down the road in parking lot across from a restaurant.

    Herman2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This picturesque cottage was finished to a high standard - modern kitchen and bathrooms, spacious back garden, comfortable bedding, towels, etc. Very conveniently situated a minute's walk from excellent pub/restaurant and local shop; ideal location to explore the area. Communication with the host was prompt and polite; I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

  • Tiola and Desmond were very welcoming. My hosts treated me very well and made me feel at home. We had a nice conversation about our common interests. The room was lovely, with many extras, such as destiny, nice books to look at and arty pieces and pictures. Directions are easy to follow even though the house is hidden down a small drive. Cottage in rural setting, very private, quiet and quaint, 1.5km to local shops and pubs. 5km to renowned Kilmore Quay fishing village, marina and beaches.
This is a very rural setting in the sunny south east.
  • Eamon was a very helpful host, and we enjoyed staying at this secluded cottage. It is a little tricky to find, the driveway is easy to miss, but thanks to Eamon's clear directions we found it ok.

    Sarah2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • My mother in law who joined us on our trip described eamons house perfectly. She said it was magical and that it took her back in time to 50 years ago but with all mod cons. This was our first air bnb experience and we couldn't of wished for more

    Joanne2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is perfect for spending some quiet and relaxing time. The garden is a real treasure. The kids loved to explore and discover. The house itself has everything you need. It is only a short drive to the coast.

    Simone2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cottage. The house is full of character and the garden which includes a maypole and tree swing provides lots of enjoyment for the kids. It's very scenic and provides the perfect getaway for peace and relaxation!

    Robert2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place for peace and quiet. There is most certainly plenty of space both inside and out. By all means this cottage is intriguing and adventurous in itself. Due to the decorations colours and imagination used there will be plenty to see. Eamon I would consider to be a friendly host and hasty to message after my enquiries.

This house is an experience all on its own. A truly special piece of a vanishing Ireland, its mud walls + thick reed thatch were first built over 300 years ago by a farming family with relations still in the area. The interior is modern while maintaining all of that special homely, cosy, country cottage feel. The house is set on a big open 1 and 3/4 acre site that's perfect for kids. 4min to stunning beaches + 15min to Wexford town itself. Endless walks + cycles Great local pubs and seafood!
Our home is on an acre of land and is full of charm and character. We love the fact that it has such a long history and is a local landmark. People often stop to photograph it as it is part of a vanishing ireland. Within a few miles you can visit the lovely Johnstown Castle or any number of beautiful beaches and villages and great local pubs with food close by. Take a drive out to see the Hook peninsula, historic medieval Wexford town or National heritage park within 20 minutes drive not to mention all the nearby beaches. We will always take the time to talk to you about your trip and help you plan your visit using our local insight.
We love the fact that we have peace and tranquility but there is lots to do locally. There are good local pubs and restaurants great seafood and friendly neighbours. There are several beautiful secluded beaches nearby and often you might be the only one there! I've even seen whales, porpoises and dolfins while walking on Rosstoons Town Beach.
  • Marian was a great host who made sure we were comfortable and gave us suggestions for things to do in the area. The farmhouse was quaint and cosy. It was well looked after and we enjoyed the DVD collection.

Located on a working organic farm, which you can visit, there is lots of space to enjoy your holiday. It's 2km to beach & it’s a 5 minute walk both to the pub that does great food & the local shop The cottages are old style with a modern twist, (think ceiling beams and WiFi).
Situated on a working organic working farm, you can go on a guided farm tour with owner John and Molly the dog to call the cows, feed the donkeys and collect eggs. Once you have finished your welcome tea in the spacious house and gardens, you can take a short walk to the the local pub and restaurant and the mini market. You can take a walk or short drive to the beach (2km) to work up an appetite for take away fish and chips in Kilmore Quay or take a trip to the magical world of the Saltee Islands to see a wild landscape inhabited by colonies of wonderful birds and other wildlife. John and Helen live across the road and can give you tips on Castles and gardens to visit, golf, shopping or something different to do - a maze perhaps or take a trip back in time on the Dunbrody famine ship. The kitchen is fully kitted out and there is a chest freezer separate from the fridge. WiFi, full laundry facilities and lots of space make this a pleasant home from home. We are child friendly, providing cots, high chairs or stair gates as needed, there are games and books indoors with lots of space and some toys outdoors. A goal, a boat and a chicken coup are some of the unusual additions to the lawn.
This is a great area for beach exploration, days on the beach and coastal walks. The nearby Saltee Islands are like another world, dominated by colonies of birds on the cliffs. The coastal location means that fresh fish and seafood of all kinds are excellent and locally landed. You can try seafood in the local pub, local restaurants or even in the excellent local fish and chip shop. The pretty thatched cottages in both our village of Kilmore and the nearby fishing village of Kilmore Quay show us a bygone era. Local wild walks are the best, you can walk for miles across the sand dunes, along the beaches and stop for a take-out coffee or maybe enjoy huge portions of fish and chips - local produce that is so good that people travel from all over Wexford to eat here. In easy reach, there are beautiful parks, a lighthouse, a windmill, castles, golf, shopping, the National Opera House and more to visit and enjoy. Wexford is home to the world famous Wexford Festival Opera for 10 days each Oct / Nov.
  • The cottage was very clean and Helen and John are excellent hosts! We enjoyed our stay very much!

We have a bright large double bedroom ( with views of the Sea and The Saltee Islands ) with a separate bathroom awaiting your arrival. We have a large garden and are situated close to picturesque Kilmore Quay. Our house is animal friendly - we have our own dogs and chickens!
Our house is situated on a quiet country road with a view of the Saltee Islands which are located off the coast of Kilmore Quay. We have 2 friendly dogs and numerous chickens roaming the gardens. We would welcome your pets should you holiday with them. If it is a relaxing, quiet and homely place you are looking for come and visit us - we are awaiting your step over our threshold.
Duncormick is a lovely quaint village with just a grocery shop a public house and a church in it. The public house ( the famous Sammies ) Sinnotts has all the charm of a traditional Irish country pub, a must see if in the area. There is a lovely river passing through the village with a beautiful walk along its banks.
  • We found a very natural place far away from any stressed city. Val responded our request very fast and we were glad to meet them and their funny dogs. The surrounding is beautiful and the garden invites for some relaxing moments. Thanks for showing us the little chicken. Good luck with them.

  • Although only staying for a short night before leaving Ireland again, we immediately felt at home. We only met Del as Val had to work that night. Del was very hospitable and kind. He even gave us some fresh eggs from his hens to take with us and one of the delicious self-made jams of his wife as we liked it so much. Thank you so much for that! Our room was spacious and comfortable. Before we left in the early morning Del showed us his farm and the chicken. We wished we could have stayed longer. Our Golden Retriever girl also enjoyed playing with their loveable dogs so much. If you wanna experience pure Irish hospitality this is the right place to stay.

  • Val & Del are definitely some of the most welcoming and friendly people I have met. Our week in their lovely home was simply great and we were spoiled with a wonderful breakfast every morning. This was far more than just an accommodation and my brother and I are very thankful for the time we could spend with Val, Del and their lovely dogs Jasper and Howler.

    Pascal2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Val and Del's! The house was easy to find, clean, spacious and comfortable. If you like dogs (and chickens), this is the place for you!

    David2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Val & Del were great hosts - they gave us spot on directions & made us a cup of tea as soon as we arrived, were full of information about all sorts of things to do & see, & were generally really friendly & helpful in a very easygoing way. The fresh eggs for breakfast were extremely delicious too! Great value & a perfect spot to explore Wexford from.

  • Val and Del are fabulous hosts. Very generous and kind. They have two lovely dogs and are extremely dog friendly. The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable and the location is very peaceful. This is my second visit, enroute to the ferry at Rosslare. I will definitely stay again .

    Claire2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Valerie's place is super comfortable, quiet, and clean. The hosts are really friendly and helpful and can point you in the direction of nearby restaurants and stores. We only stayed one night before heading to Rosslare to catch a ferry, but it was great.

We had privacy, but were close to local attractions. Plenty of room to enjoy the outside space. My kids whom are grown loved the games room. Just a get away from it all holiday home!

  • Silverpring is a beautiful well equipped cottage. The photographs on Airbnb website do not do the cottage justice. The cottage is lovely, located in a lovely area; my family and I enjoyed our stay so much, we are already talking about booking Silverspring again.

  • Hilary’s house made a parfect home as we visited the area (Hook Lighthouse, Waterford, Wexford). It’s very large and comfortable with all the modern conveniences ...... perfect for a family holiday.

    Paul2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice place to stay, everything there you needed. Hilary was a very good host, always available and helpfull. Spacious place for a family holiday. We found everything we needed...more than that. Nice old ireland farmhouse atmosphere. We can recommand the house of Hilary not just 100% but really 120%. Hope to come back one day...Good job Hilary and thanks for all... ***** (Five Stars)

    Lothar2018-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time in Hilarys' lovely home. Everything ran smoothly and we were very happy with our stay! The house itself is perfect for families and small groups. The grounds in which the house are placed on are beautiful and spacious, the house is big and homely and we didn't have one problem during our stay. Only advice i'd recommend is its best to have a car as the home itself is out of the way from a town/village. Everything ran smoothly and we couldn't recommend this house enough!

    Emily2019-01-17T00:00:00Z

  • Fabulous house, in a beautiful setting. Friendly and welcoming family. Would highly recommend woodvilla and hope to return myself.

  • This trip, for 11 of us, ranging in age from 2 to 63, was, by far, our best family holiday so far and really only for two reasons: the weather and the place. The house and the land around it are a children’s (and adult’s) paradise. The property was spotless, safe, secure, fitted out to a very high standard and spacious. We would highly recommend Woodvilla Lodge, if only because Austin and his wife are wonderful hosts. You will need transport to access the beach though.

Our home Ballykelly House is a period farmhouse dating back to 1629 and set on a 100 acre working Blackcurrant and Horse Breeding Farm in Ireland’s Ancient East. Located only 4 miles from Wexford town down long driveway on main Rosslare Road, it’s just 10 minutes from Rosslare Europort.
Ballykelly House a historic house of County Wexford is surrounded by a beautiful old courtyard and stables. As Ireland’s only commercial blackcurrant farm, yes it is a little different! The house has been in Des’s family since the 1800’s and is a quiet and peaceful place. We love our animals and if you wish you just might meet them!
Being close to Wexford town and the beach resort of Rosslare there are many restaurants to choose from. You can check online at Good Food Ireland for the best and most authentic local food places. And there is even a great pub serving food at end of our Avenue, just walking distance from the house.
  • Would highly recommend a stay at Ballykelly House. We received such a warm welcome from Margaret & Des and had the most comfy nights sleep ever. Their home is amazing, oozing with character and charm. Hope to return soon.

    Caroline2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely amazing place! It oozes charm, and Des and Margaret were amazing hosts. Would love to stay again, if we come back to the Wexford area. Mike & Paula Texas

    Paula2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend staying with Des and Margaret highly enough. Their hospitality and generosity was completely humbling. Their eagerness to share their home/stories with my friends and me was heartwarming, and we would all continue to make their home a regular stop anytime we visit Ireland for as long as they would have us back. As an added bonus for us, Des took us out to see the horses and black currants, and Margaret provided tips for places to visit and food to eat all over the country. Their hospitality is outmatched only by their humility, and we cannot thank them enough for sharing their home, their knowledge, and their stories with us. Thanks again, Des and Margaret!

    Matthew2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Des and Margaret were lovely hosts with an amazing house. It was the perfect location for us with just a 10minute drive to the Rosslare Europort. Would highly recommend!

  • You could not wish for better hosts. Des and Margaret are very welcoming and generous in sharing their lovely home which is in a beautiful, peaceful and private setting, yet very accessible to nearby Rosslare. We stayed on our first night in Ireland, straight off the ferry, and looked forward to returning for our last night, after travelling through Co Clare and up to Connemara. Our room was very spacious, quiet and private - accessed by a wide and easy to climb staircase. Decorated in the style of the period house, the bed was very comfy and everything you could need was supplied - plentiful towels, toiletries and a hair dryer. Tea, cake, and company were all on tap, as well as lovley cold breakfasts with an array of goodies including smoked salmon, meats, local breads and preserves, delicious yoghurt made by a nearby producer and using blackcurrents from Des and Margaret's farm. We also sampled their wonderful blackcurrant cordial - 'Mr Jefferes' - and are now addicts to this yummy sugar free delight. We would definitely recommend staying with Des and Margaret in their charming (and spotless) home and look forward to returning again.

    Sally2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret and Des were wonderful hosts and remarkably generous with their time showing us around their stunning stables and blackcurrant farm. We left realising we simply hadn’t allowed enough time to see Ireland, so will just have to return.

  • Nice house; walking distance to small town.Hosts were very hospitable and came to get us at the local pub. Offered to drive us back too. Very clean accommodations. Double bed was great, but hide-a-bed in the other room was a bit small for 2 adults. Overall, very satisfied with our stay!

Little thoughtful touches like cereal bars left for breakfast and a bowl of fresh popcorn in the TV room. We would definitely return.

The house is very sweet - cosy, with all the old-school touches for the house it used to be, and the heating (we were there over New Year) was very effective keeping us nice and warm. The host is quick to respond too. Another thing - the place impeccably clean. Decorated nicely but with no clutter. We had a fantastic time.

  • A group of sea kayakers rented Kate's cottage for a two day paddling trip. The cottage was so peaceful and comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. It's the perfect spot for exploring this beautiful part of Ireland and great for Saltees visitors. Hopefully we will get back for a longer stay next time!

    Sam2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Aga was very welcoming. Thank you Kay! We slept so soundly on the supremely comfortable master bedroom mattress. The kids in our group thoroughly enjoyed running around the grounds. We had a wonderful reunion with visiting friends and would highly recommend the cottage for a group with 2 children. It was great to see the stars in the night sky.

  • Kate was very attentive in helping us make sure we had detailed instructions, and also gave us nice tips on what to do. Her property feels private and secluded, but close to town. We absolutely loved the grounds and property. As my mother put it, it's "perfectly Irish." We'd recommend the Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing and unique place to stay.

    Sean2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Kate's cottage. The house is in a very scenic location, with a lovely garden and lots of opportunities for walking nearby. The weather wasn't always accommodating but that also gave us an excuse to stay in and enjoy our lovely accommodation. It was lovely to have the aga, as it made the kitchen really cosy. The bedrooms in the house are also really nice, with very comfortable beds. Kate was always very quick to respond throughout the booking process and our stay and she was very accommodating when the numbers in our group fluctuated a bit at the last minute. Kay was ready to greet us on arrival and already had a fire going and the aga lit. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Kate's cottage for anyone looking for a quiet break in the country.

2 Marina View is a light, spacious and airy apartment with stunning sea views. Located right in the centre of beautiful Kilmore Quay, we've equipped the apartment with high quality furnishing and accessories to make sure you have everything you need - and stuff you mightn't need, but will enjoy nevertheless! From cosy blankets & throws for evening snuggles in front of the contemporary wall-mounted fire and buckets & spades for long days on the beach, through to the bright and cheerful yellow Bodum tea/coffee pots in the well-equipped kitchen - you won't want for anything. Although we're sure you'll spend most of your time outside enjoying the amenities this stunning coastal spot has to offer, if you do choose to stay indoors, there's plenty to keep you entertained. We've provided traditional games (Monopoly, Kerplunk, Scrabble, Jenga and more) for the family to play together; if reading is more your thing, you'll find an eclectic selection of books (if you don't finish one, feel free to take it away with you - we just ask you replace it with one you have finished for our next guest to enjoy). The apartment also has Sky Q installed.
Kilmore Quay offers a huge array of things to do, places to visit and stunning scenery to see. I've provided a comprehensive Guest Guide in the apartment where you'll find lots of information once you arrive, but here's a snapshot: There are several high quality dining options for example, you can eat in or out at Kehoes chipper (voted in the top 10 of Ireland's chip shops) or enjoy a beautiful meal at The Silver Fox restaurant. If pub grub is more your thing, then you can wander a few hundred metres up to Kehoe's or walk/drive the 2 1/2 miles to Mary Barry's in Kilmore village. Activities/things to see and do: On your doorstep in the marina there's access to on and offshore angling, scuba, sailing and boat charters to the Saltee Islands, where you see the world famous bird sanctuary. There are also 4 orienteering routes; Ballycross Apple Farm - visit a REAL working farm dating back to 1863. There's a beautiful stone courtyard with horses heads bowing in and out of their stables. You'll also be able to see lots of other animals in their paddocks or in their pens. There's also lots of yummy home-cooked food. Tintern Abbey - Visit the ruins of the beautiful c.815 year old abbey, founded by powerful Norman knight William Marshal after he was shipwrecked in nearby Bannow. And if you fancy some pampering, there are several world class spas nearby; SeaSpa at Kelly's Resort Hotel in Rosslare Dunbrody Spa at Dunbrody House Hotel Solas Croí Spa at Brandon House Hotel, New Ross Tranquility Spa at Whites of Wexford and of course there's Monart, recently named one of the top 3 Spa Resorts in the world by Conde Nast Traveller. It's a little further away, in Enniscorthy, but worth the drive.
  • Such a beautiful spot, the apartment is located right at the quays, revealing lovely views of the nearby Saltee islands and the boats in the harbour. So close to the best fish & chip shop in Ireland too! We loved staying here - beds were comfortable, had all the conveniences we needed, check in was easy and communication with Aideen was brilliant and immediate. Would highly recommend.

  • By far our best AirBnB experience. Amazing apartment, totally spotlessly clean and has everything you need. The location in the centre of the village is heavenly. Coffee and scones next door in the lovely coffee shop, cross the road to the beach or amazing play ground........who could imagine The Silver Fox do take away dinners!!!!! By far the best family break we have ever had, I have never been so keen to have a regular place to retreat to, absolutely wonderful

  • Cathy is a lovely host, we felt like we had visited family and were sad to leave. The children had plenty of space to kick a ball around with lawn encircling the house. We loved the sun room best, especially in the evening, but the bar with its jukebox was a hit too. Thanks Cathy!

Comfortable and cozy, it has all you will need for short or long stay. The apartment is a separate building next to the main home so it is quite private yet there is always someone at home to welcome you, to help plan tours or just to borrow tea bags from! Location is great, 10 mins to Wexford town, 5 mins to Johnstown Castle, walking distance to forest.
This is a private self contained guest apartment with own bathroom, kitchen, living area and 2 bedrooms. It is 60 square meters in size. The main bedroom has a double bed. • Eugene was a tremendous host. They thought of everything. Right down to providing all the cooking condiments that can be costly when one first shows up to a bowl of fruit and some yummy scones. The cottage was quite comfortable and a nice oasis of peace and quiet just a few miles from Wexford town.

  • We stayed for a week with our two young children and it was fantastic. The house is beautifully restored with quality materials and a really nice finish. The inside space feels much bigger than it is and was very practical as well as comfortable. There is loads of outside space, again beautifully finished, fully enclosed which ment we didnt have to worry about the kids running around. We would love to come back here again

    Denis2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home, immaculately kept with wonderful hosts. Everything we could expect and more was provided for. Check in and out was extremely easy. We were a group of 4 adults and 3 children and there was something for everyone and plenty of space. Great value for money and only 5 mins walk to a lovely little safe and quiet beach. I would 100% recommend a visit!

    Elaine2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This house is spectacular. Perfectly placed between the hotel and harbour with safe, enclosed areas for children to play. The outside space is perfect for an Irish summer, wet or dry(!) with all sorts of bits and bobs for a seaside stay. The house is beautiful. Well laid out - super comfy beds and sofa and a well laid out kitchen. I couldn’t recommend this house enough, Excellent quality and value for money. Kilmore Quay is the jewel in south Co. Wexford’s crown and this house is the perfect place to enjoy it.

    Rosemary2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • 100% recommend staying here. Great home, especially if you have large family.

    Jason2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Don't hesitate, Sinead's home is a well specked comfy house to stay in. The hot water & radiators are heated using a very effective wood burner, so once we got used to this it really was very efficient! We arrived on a cold wet day so the only thing which would have made our stay 100% perfect was if the wood burner had been emptied, stoked & lit - a minor detail. We were traveling with both sets of elderly parents & they were very comfortable as were we with loads of things to do & see in the Kilmore Quay area. Thank you Sinead.

  • We had a fantastic few days away in this beautifully renovated home. The house was pristine when we arrived, the beds were comfortable, with great showers. It had all the facilities we needed for our stay. The enclosed courtyard/bbq area at the back was perfect for our family and there was ample parking at the rear. Ideally located to explore the area, only a few minutes walk to the beach and shops. Sinead was a pleasure to deal with and I would highly recommend this property.

Boxwell cottage is surrounded by over 100 acres of farm and woodland at Butlerstown castle. You are welcome to relax in the delightful gardens and children are free to enjoy the space and the feeding of the donkeys and chickens.
Butlerstown Castle is located in the sunniest corner of Ireland. We invite you to share in our Irish country life style at Boxwell Cottage. The 17th century cow house has been newly refurbished for you to inhabit. The comfort of an atmospheric log fire and a uniquely decorated interior that alludes to years gone by, yet encompassing the needs of a modern lifestyle is idyllic. Butlerstown Castle estate has been in the ownership of the same family since the early 1800s, Jonathan being the 8th generation. Boxwell Cottage is part of a heritage site and is attached to the superb 1500s Castle (Tower House). The Castle adds a hint of mythical spirit to your stay that excites adults and children alike. Boxwell Cottage is the perfect place for you to “get-away” from the roar of the city. Children are invited to feed the donkeys and chickens and to collect the eggs!
Boxwell Cottage is provided with a booklet with information to help you find interesting and cultural places to visit during your stay. Apart form the beautiful 100 acres of farm and woodland you have to explore on the estate you can also explore the numerous beaches nearby. We are close to Kilmore Quay (a picturesque seaside village). You are also a 20min drive from Wexford town centre. There are delicious restaurants nearby to choose from and a number of cafes to go to during the day.
  • In our 10 days in Ireland, this was one of our favorite stays. The cottage was cozy, but had plenty of room (it was just the two of us, but there were two other bedrooms as well). My wife and I enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the evening -- a welcome amenity since the weather was so wet! Our host, Jim, was a great resource for local history and had some unique insights on the construction of the old stone tower that is on the property. This is a fairly remote location, but still highly recommended!

  • What an amazing experience we had at Anna's place! It's not often that one has the opportunity to sleep in a castle, which thrilled my four year old beyond words. To make the time even more memorable, Anna met us on arrival with a box of Lego for my son- so thoughtful!- and had milk, butter, and bread waiting for us. She also introduced us to her donkey, Pippa, and made some wonderful dinner recommendations. The furnishings and personal touches throughout the cottage were as special as the cottage itself, and I wish we had had a longer stay to enjoy Anna and Jim's hospitality!

    Annaliesa2017-04-28T00:00:00Z

Beautiful 250 year old thatched cottage that has been fully modernised. Underfloor heating and Wood Fires! This newly restored cottage has been in our family for over 40 years and holds many happy memories of family holidays. We hope you enjoy your stay!
The cottage is snug, with heavy thatch and thick mud walls, built to last. When we took the cottage on from my parents, we sought to use modern building materials to make the most of the character of the cottage, and also the big skies and wonderful light of this part of Wexford. We love the ancient/modern result, which is centered around a huge kitchen/dining room/family room, bright and airy, with a custom-made 14-seater oak table at its centre, and views through picture windows of the sea and Saltee Islands to the south and Forth Mountain to the west. There is a modern 'wide screen' wood burning stove, a puzzle table, music system and electric piano. Inside there are four bedrooms, two upstairs in "the old bit", and two in "the new bit", each pair with their own bathroom. From experience, this lends itself very well to two families staying here, or a family with teenagers operating on a different schedule! Sleeping under the thatch is magical, cocooned in a heavy silence. The double room upstairs is accessed through a low doorway, with a window looking across fields to the sea and the Saltees. "The old bit" also has a small study downstairs with open fire, where my husband works when here but not on holiday, and a larger room with a wood burning stove, that can be set up as another sitting room, or a playroom. There is a ping-pong table and plenty of board games for when inside is better than outside. Back in "the new bit", the kitchen is well equipped, with a double-oven and induction hob. There is a dishwasher, and two fridges, one in the kitchen and another fridge-freezer in the utility room. This also has a microwave, sink and the washing machine and a separate tumble dryer. The kitchen/living room and bedrooms and bathroom in the new extension have underfloor heating and heat recovery ventilation, which means the rooms are warm without being stale or fuggy, even on the wettest days. Outside there is a large garden where kids can run wild, and a secluded patio with views of the sea and spectacular sunsets - just keep a fleece to hand! We love this place. We have made, and continue to make, new memories here with our own children. We hope you like it even a little as much as we do, and that it provides the setting for wonderful memories for you too.
Beaches to the south, beaches to the east, islands to the south-west, history going back to the Normans and further, outstanding food, restaurants and pubs, lovely walks, a vibrant arts and crafts scene, with the Wexford Opera Festival and the spectacular National Opera House at its heart - this is a great place to visit again and again. We have written a short guide of what we enjoy the most. If you're a walker, pack your boots: beautiful beach walks (we saw porpoises at Rostoonstown Beach in April), woodland walks, walks around the grounds of abbeys, lighthouses and castles. Nature lovers will enjoy the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve, be blown away by a trip around the Saltees, and be surprised at how much is going on just looking out of the window into our garden. If you're a history buff, then the New Ross Famine Centre, the 1798 Rebellion Centre in Enniscorthy and the Irish Heritage Centre in Wexford are some of the excellent options you have. If a golfer, pack your clubs: Rosslare Golf Club is a 10 minute drive away. If you love to fish, bring your tackle - there is excellent sea fishing from beach and rocks all around us, and you can go further out angling on a boat from Kilmore Quay. And if you're a cyclist, bring your bike: there is everything from a refreshing 8km ride to Bridgetown for tea and cake at Button and Spoon (or the same distance to Kelly's Deli for coffee and a scone), to a gentle 28km ride to Kilmore Quay and back, to rides around the stunning Our Lady's Island, and more challenging routes further afield, up Forth Mountain, to Wellington Bridge, and beyond. The roads are undulating and quiet, the air is clean and the scenery is spectacular.
  • Lovely old house. New extension very comfortable and great space for kids and adults alike. Older part was understandably a bit damp.... it’s a very old house. Mum and aunt raised in a thatched cottage so the stay was a novelty for them. Good secure outside space. Reasonable distance to beaches. Great for star gazing. No welcome pack but there’s plenty of tea etc in the cupboard- remember to bring milk, fruit, bread etc. Couches extremely comfy but beds not comfy for us. No WiFi when we stayed. Great selection of games equipment such as ping pong, cricket etc. Excellent communication and easy check in. Great privacy too.

  • This place literally has it all - we were devastated at having to leave! The house itself is beautiful and very well designed and maintained, you can feel the history in the original part while the newer space has every comfort and convenience you could want. Layout works great for two families. The kitchen was the best stocked of any rental I’ve ever stayed in. The location is utterly peaceful and remote enough to make you feel like you’re away from it all, yet in reality there is a lot going on close by - a lovely little gourmet food store down the road, Millers pub where we had a lovely dinner and bouncy castle for the kids, easy access to a couple of different beaches. Carne beach has facilities and safe swimming. We loved the local beach at Rosstoonstown – so beautiful and nobody for miles apart from us (even on a sunny bank holiday weekend) we felt like we were on a desert island! Newly installed WiFi worked perfectly in the main living area although didn’t reach all of the older parts of the house (those walls are thick!) but that didn’t bother us in the slightest. Overall this is a large step up from the average holiday rental and we are without a doubt going to be returning. Thank you Sylvie!

  • This house was perfect for our family holiday. With 4 adults and 5 children there was plenty of space for us all to be together and lots of space when everyone wanted to chill and do their own thing. The house is lovely with a mix of the old and the new with the old renovated cottage and the new large extension. It was very clean and fresh. It had everything we needed. The large gardens allowed for lots of fun and games. A short drive from Carne beach, a lovely safe clean sandy beach.

  • Sylvies beautiful thatched cottage was the perfect space for an extended group of friends/ family to spend some time together. The kitchen/dining/living area is very spacious, tastefully furnished and fully equipped with everything you may need. The outdoor space is perfect and quiet for relaxation. Sylvie was a great host, very easy to deal with and responded promptly via email. Would definitely return here again to relax in the countryside. It is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area. There are some lovely beaches and fishing villages and places of historical interest to explore but you definitely need a car.

  • This iconic and quaint Irish home would be a great stay for all families and large groups traveling to the Coddstown/Wexford area. This home was great for home cooked meals and relaxing! My husband and I slept in the upstairs loft room and loved our view out to fields of green and livestock each morning. Please be confident choosing this lovely home!

  • This house is a little piece of heaven. There's plenty of space, gorgeous design and so many things for the kids to play with;Table tennis, buckets and spades, a dolls house... The list goes on and on. The house is jam packed with everything you could need for a brilliant stay, the kitchen in particular is excellently equipped. It really had everything we needed! We walked to the Millhouse for dinner on one of the nights, can't recommend it enough, lovely welcome, super food that's great value but most importantly such a warm welcome. Lastly thanks to Kelly Anne for showing us round the house on arrival she answered all our questions and was really helpful. Can't wait to go back. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • I stayed at Sylvie's cottage in June 2018 with a large family group and had a fantastic time! Although we were extremely lucky to be in Wexford during a rare heatwave, it was definitely the beautiful home that made the holiday. It was more than spacious enough for 7 of us to relax, cook, eat and sleep comfortably for 5 nights. The kitchen table is even bigger than in the pictures! We ate around it every evening and could watch the sun set over the beautiful garden and surrounding fields. The location and community was also a highlight for me. Although you definitely need to have a car, there are several interesting towns and beaches within a half hour's drive, and there is a great restaurant and pub around 20 minute's walk away. Everyone we met in the area was chatty and welcoming! Sylvie also has provided lots of information about things to do in Wexford, and her check in instructions are accurate and easy to follow. There's a ping pong table, board games and TV for when the weather is rainy, too. Can't recommend staying here enough! The area is stunning and I will definitely be back to explore more. Will be bringing my bike next time! Thank you Sylvie and Kelly-Anne who showed us around.

  • Beautiful house matching the stylish new with the lovely old charm thatched house. Have no problem recommending this cottage to anyone looking to get away from it all. Fully fitted out with everyone modcon. With the only tough question is to pick the modern bedroom or go with the old charming bedroom in the thatched house. Suitable and stocked for kids. Convenient to beaches (with cars) in a beautiful part of Ireland. Very worth checking out.

  • The cottage was perfect. I could see the sea from the parlor. It was a quick walk across the beach into town. Everyone was so nice in town. Raina was able to save us a trip into town when I discovered I had packed the wrong power adapters. Beautiful location and great place for a couple or small family. We do plan to return in the future.

  • Very handy spot for Kilmore Quay and seconds from the small beach there (private steps down). Lovely view of the sea from the living rm and the upper sun deck. Kehoe's pub (best one in the village) is 2 minutes walk. Riana was away for check-in, but we're from nearby, so that was all good. She called on to check on us as soon she got back - as promise. Very nice to deal with. Bathroom/kitchen/bedding all v clean. Nice wind-protected patio for breakfast.

Immaculately clean 'home from home' 4-bed roomed house in a quiet area over looking Tacumshane Bird Sanctuary, with views of the saltees Islands in the Atlantic ocean and still 10 mins from Wexford Town, Rosslare Harbour, a host of beaches, golf courses, restaurants, etc.
    Very Clean
    Peace & quiet
  • This is a lovely home and was very spacious for our needs. It was just 2 of us, but it could have been four, and we will expect to rent again in the future with a larger group. Tony and Bernadette spent time with us before they left showing us around and all the various details we needed to know. The neighbors, Bill and Linda were very friendly, and the yard and views are fantastic! It is great to look around and see horses peering over the fence, and 2 pet sheep in the next yard. Views of the lake, sea and islands beyond. We had a few nice nights on the patio. All appliances are present. We will definitely stay again!

  • We had a wonderful time with our family. We intend to do it every year. Very quiet, peaceful setting overlooking Lake Tacumshane. Nice big back yard for a game of football. The neighbors were delightful, and the home was very comfortable. It had everything you could want to feel at home. I would highly recommend for a family putting or a real get away!

    patricia2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tony was professional and courteous in all our interactions. The house is as you see it in the photos - a modern, clean home -away-from-home which only adds to your Wexford experience. It is in a rural location but only 10-15 mins from Rosslare with its beach etc. We were only using it for one night but would gladly have stayed longer if our schedule allowed. Would recommend for families, couples etc.

  • Great house. Loads of Space and close to lots of great places, Rosslare, Kilmore Quay and Wexford. Tony was a great host with great information and a well stocked kitchen. It was like a home from home. We had 4 kids with us and they loved the space and we all had a great time.

    Aileen2015-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a comfortable night in Tony's bungalow. It was really nice that we could cook our own dinner in a very well equipped and spacious kitchen. After a good night sleep in a wonderful bed we woke up at the sound of a lot of birds happily whistling away.

    Paula2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tony made us feel very welcome and was very helpful letting us know where beaches etc were. The house was very comfortable with a spacious garden which the kids loved and the friendly horses nearby made it all the more enjoyable A lovely quiet rural neighbourhood with magnificent views we were close enough to enjoy beaches, shops, tourist attractions while experiencing the tranquil setting making it the best holiday ever according to our kids. Tony was on hand if needed but the holiday home became our home for the week.

Millknock Farm is close to beaches, golf, fishing, and bird watching on Tacumshane Lake in Ireland's Sunny South East. You’ll love the 6 bedrooms sleeping up to 12 people, the large garden for the kids to play in, and the kitchen which can seat 12 people around the table. A great place for families (with kids) and big groups. A welcome pack containing a sample pot of our homemade jam and a dozen freshly baked scones, along with tea, sugar, milk and butter, waits inside the house on your arrival.
Millknock Farm is a 200 year old farmhouse which is not your standard self-catering holiday cottage. It is the perfect place for a group of friends, extended family, or a couple of families to get together for a self-catering holiday. This large rural farmhouse sleeps up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms
It is less than 1km from the house to the historic Tacumshane Windmill, the only surviving complete wind-driven corn mill in Ireland. A rare feature of this windmill is its revolving roof, which could be turned to face the sails into the wind. In 1948 it was placed in the guardianship of the Commissioner of Public Works for preservation as a national monument. If you would like to visit this unique attraction, the key is available from the neighbouring Meylers Millhouse Bar free of charge. The eastern shores of Tacumshane Lake are less than 1km away, and can be seen from the upstairs windows of the house. Tacumshane Lake is a sedimentary lagoon with a gravel/sand barrier that supports a wide variety of plants and animals. It is one of the largest examples of a lagoon in the country. Tacumshane Lake has been designated a Special Protection Area under the E.U. Birds Directive. It is nationally important for nine bird species. Rostoonstown Beach is 1.5km (1 mile) away. It is not suitable for swimming due to dangerous currents, but it is a long sandy beach which is part of the Wexford Coastal Walk. It is also a popular location for shore fishing with locals and holidaymakers alike. The western shores of Our Lady’s Island Lake are a popular place for windsurfing, and can also be found at Rostoonstown. A selection of safe sandy beaches that are suitable for bathing are located within 12km (8 miles) of the property, including Carne, Rosslare Strand, and St Helens. The fishing village of Kilmore Quay is within easy reach, being just 12km (8 miles) away. From here you can charter a fishing boat to go sea fishing, or just sample some of the catch in the local seafood restaurants, or visit the annual Seafood Festival. There are a number of golf courses nearby, including: St Helens Bay Golf Club 10km (6 miles), Rosslare Golf Club 10km (6 miles), and Wexford Golf Club 15km (10 miles).

A great set up for children, they loved the slide and swings in the garden. There is a great folder with lots of information including the history of the farm which is very interesting. We were also able to buy some homemade jam from the farm! I would definitely recommend here for larger groups and families. Thank you Gavin
