Places to stay in Charleston
Our Glasgow Guest House is a 325 sq ft cottage behind our house on Coos Bay. Furnished with a queen bed, smart TV and fully equipped kitchenette. Warm, clean and quiet, with natural Douglas fir flooring and tiled bath.
Bright and cheery, our new cottage is furnished with a comfy Poang chair from IKEA and a vintage Herman Miller mid-century rocking chair, and a vintage dresser from a Mills College dorm. Also part of the decor: an old oak library table and a small folding wood table, both of which belonged to my grandmother. Several years ago, I had an artist friend paint the little table and it has provided the focal point for the color scheme.
The Glasgow area is considered a desirable neighborhood because of the hillside on which it is situated, which protects the area from sometimes intense summer winds. We are less than 4 miles from Horsfall Beach, less than 30 minutes away from Sunset Bay State Park, Bastendorff Beach, and Shore Acres' historical gardens. We are 45 minutes and 30 miles away from the amenities of Bandon, Oregon: a colorful old-town with unique shopping opportunities, a beautiful beach, several good food options, and the world-renowned Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. The golf resort has been identified as one of the world's top ten links golf courses.
  • This is such a cute place! Just perfect - the kitchen has whatever you need, a great shower and comfortable bed. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

  • What a gem. The second I walked into the cottage I knew I should've booked for more nights. Spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, with every amenity you could need while traveling; this space has it all. An incredible stay, one I would highly recommend to anyone!

  • Great place to stay with beautiful views.

    Claire2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for a month in the cottage. Kathleen was a marvelous host and went above and beyond from getting me from and to the airport (I had no transportation and do not drive), helping me fetch groceries and supplies, taking me to the Farmers Market and to get fresh fish, a wonderful trip to the beach, and letting me join her and John at three concerts in town. Morning guests from all over the world were very interesting an there were great conversations. I felt so at home. I was able to accomplish what I wanted to do during the month, writing most of my book, all in peace and quiet often accompanied by deer, birds and other of God's creatures.

Relax and revive in this artistic 'cabin' with wonderful views of historic Glenn Creek from every room. An architectural dream, you enter this lodge style home through a pivoting hobbit style front door with hardware from the 1800's.
Highlights of this original home include a gourmet kitchen with labradorite granite counters, 800 year old juniper tree spiral stair case, huge beams and exposed rafters, a sauna, and a romantic wood stove. Also each upstairs bedroom has a hanging bed with three 8 foot skylights above for indoor star gazing. Original artworks from local artists are throughout the home. Many pleasantries await the curious such as embedded fossils in the cracked mud walls. Nestled amongst towering fir and cedar trees, with windows everywhere, you'll feel and see nature's presence. This home site has a remarkably peaceful way about it. Check out more pictures at www.belowthefallslodge.com Recently featured in Southern Oregon Magazine and KCBY 11 TV's ~In Focus~ 'Goin' Green' and Oregon's Solar Home Tour, this is a unique 'green' home. This home was built with environmentally friendly materials. Building with little impact on the surroundings was very important to us during construction. The myrtle hardwood floor in the kitchen and living room was milled on site which came from trees that stood where the house is now. Same story for the beautiful maple flooring in the ½ bath. All of the large beams and fir flooring came from two 4' thick 104 year old douglas fir trees which also stood and were milled where the house is now. The fir trees sprouted after the last forest fire that came through the canyon. One of our neighbors fell a sixty five year old redwood that was over six feet thick! We used some of it as a wonderful wainscot paneling throughout the house. All of the finishes used are no or low VOC. Surrounding the house is native vegetation, huge trees and a few herbs and spices for cooking. You'll enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with labradorite granite counters. The kitchen island has a new five burner gas stove with a convection oven and warming oven. The island has plenty of granite and wood counter space. Hanging from the exhaust hood are stainless, non-stick, and cast iron cookware. Also included are coffee and a grinder, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, utensils, chef knives, glasses and frosty cocktail glasses in the freezer. The dining room table has a river view and can seat eight. There is also seating for three at the island bar. From the kitchen you can visit with the folks in the living room thanks to the open floor plan. Beside the wood stove are two chairs and the futon couch with reading lamp. A CD changer and TV with a DVD player and VHS machine are in the downstairs bedroom. Bring your favorite videos or browse our selection of movies. The property has 150 feet of creek frontage with great views of Glenn creek, the forest and distant cliffs. Enjoy wildlife viewing with River Dippers, Chipmunks, Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, Screech Owls, Pileated Wood Peckers, Elk, an occasional Bald Eagle or River Otter and other wildlife from the house and back deck. Build a fire and have lunch on the nearby picnic table and benches.
The narrow canyon valley below Golden and Silver Falls is wonderful. I grew up here moved away, and came back for the natural beauty and solitude of the Oregon rain forest. This area has been a favorite of mine since I was a youngster. In 2005 when the bare land became available I jumped on it and started a three year art project which became Below the Falls Lodge.
  • The place was more gorgeous then I expected and I loved my stay! Next time I will be back for longer to enjoy more of the house and the property and the surrounding area. Coos Bay is amazing and Cape Arago and Shoreline park are breathtaking. Highly recommend this house!

  • This home was absolutely lovely and fully stocked with everything and anything you could imagine needing, we were blown away and so so grateful to have had the pleasure of staying here. From the beautiful scenery, the river, the beautiful rooms and skylights, hanging beds , stocked kitchen, just amazing. We didn’t want to leave.

  • This place is a dream stay! Shane recommended a hike just up the house to see some waterfalls and they were so breathtaking and amazing! The house itself is so cozy and looks like it’s straight off my Pinterest board. We will definitely come back to visit! It was nice to disconnect from devices for a while and my husband said he got the best night sleep he’s had in months on the bed we slept on. Highly highly highly recommend this place

Gather around the outdoor fire pit as night falls at Bayview Cottage, a waterfront home with beautiful views of the bay & stunning evening sunsets. Enjoy your morning coffee while admiring wildlife from the large picture windows. Cook in a bright kitchen stocked with everything you'll need to prepare a gourmet meal or a quick snack. You're sure to get a good night sleep on one of the three beds, all of which feature memory foam and cozy bedding. World famous Bandon Dunes Golf Course is less than a 30 minute drive away!
  • Lani's place is a great place for exploring Oregon. It is clean, convenient and featured natural products we like using. Board games, books and the big map of Coos Bay were really cool

  • Second time we've stayed here, couldn't recommend it more. Great house, great host, great location and great value...we'll certainly be back.

  • Our first trip to Coos Bay. This little cottage was a great place to stay. All our needs were met. We even had s'mores ready to be made. Lani was a wonderful host. We will be back.

    Teresa2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We love simple pleasures like enjoying nature, staying in a quiet, peaceful place, so this place was perfect. With huge picture windows facing the water, the bonus was you could watch nature from inside a cozy cottage with freshly brewed coffee in comfy chair.

You will love this beautiful little cabin. Glenn Creek Cabin is set in a beautiful coastal forest. The house itself is one bedroom with a loft. The back side of the cabin is all windows and looks out onto Glenn Creek. There is a king size bed in the loft and a queen size bed in the downstairs bedroom. Everything in the cabin has been recently remodeled. The kitchen has granite countertops, new cabinetry, stainless steel dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, etc...All the conveniences of home in this nice, quite setting.
Glenn Creek Cabin is approxiamately 21 miles inland from Coos Bay. The cabin is 3 miles from Golden and Silver Falls. It's great for hiking and biking. Along with this, the Pacific Coastline is only 40 minutes away, it makes for a great day trip.
  • The cabin is beautiful, updated, and comfortable. Gas fireplace wasn't working, it would have been nice to know that prior to booking. The cabin is in the middle of the woods, the quiet and beauty is wonderful. Unfortunately, the cabin is also surrounded by dilapidated homes and buildings. But when you're down by the river, its beautiful and peaceful.

    Krista2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t understand how wonderful this place is until you visit it! It’s super clean and cozy. Perfect little hideaway to get away from it all. We experienced no issues whatsoever. Just wish we could’ve stayed longer!

    Danielle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is so amazing. The drive up there is incredibly beautiful and the cabin itself has an amazing view, photos really don’t do it justice!! The cabin itself was very clean, it had a fully stocked kitchen of utensils, pots, pans, plates, silverware, etc. which we really appreciated as we cooked a lot of our meals in. Also, we had a question our first night and the host was super quick to respond. They also gave us great local tips and detailed instructions on how to get to the cabin. I would love to stay here again- overall an amazing experience.

    Chelsea2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was excellent. The location was exiled and perfect. There are waterfalls about 5 miles away which are some of the best waterfalls lives in the Pacific Northwest.

    Arturo2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was really nice and quiet with a beautiful view of the river. It was a really relaxing trip and the space is the perfect size for one person or even a small group of people. Would recommend!

    Darbi2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic! So cute and cozy. The drive up was great. I had everything I needed in the cabin, and everything was as great as I expected!

    Kathleen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was an amazing experience! Such a beautiful setting and home. Would definitely stay again

    Jokubas2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Super private and quiet. The cabin was sparkling clean and well equipped. Sitting by the fire at night right on the river was definitely the highlight. This place is definitely way in the middle of nowhere but that's exactly what I was looking for. It's not too hard to find, just use Geraldine's directions instead of Google maps as it will take you the wrong way.

Hello Travelers Our place is close to the water and it sleeps 2. Plus it has plenty of parking. Please come and visit. We love Coos Bay and we hope you’ll fall in love too. Yvette and Bill
Our place is close to Shore acres, Sunset beach, mostly everything you could ever want to do. We’re still finding beautiful places.
  • Yvette and Bill are very friendly. The location is great, just a stones throw from shore if you want to go for a walk. Very clean space, microwave, toaster, keureg and cups, mini fridge. Even some food available if you miss the grocery store. New space, and easy parking. Better value than any hotel twice the price.

  • Thank you so much, this was a perfect respite on our tour of the coast! The place was very private and comfortable, nice bed, (had plenty of hot water), very nice hosts. I vote a fantastic tip to visit Cape Aragus, which was completely amazing and we spent the entire morning and afternoon there! 10/10

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Yvette and Bill were amazing hosts. We felt comfortable and cozy during our stay. They really went the extra mile. They had snacks provided in the room, local information and brochures, and recommendations to an amazing restaurant. I would highly recommend staying with them. If we get the chance, we are most definitely coming back.

    Heaven2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was cute, clean and private. We had been traveling hours that day and loved finding this cute gem.

    Celina2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Yvette and Bill’s place was perfect for me. I traveled from Bremerton, WA to Coos Bay in one day so needless to say I was exhausted. Bill greeted me at the front gate and gave me a tour of the space and even recommend a place to get food. Everything was sparkling clean and I had everything I could need. Stay here, it’s great.

    Jackie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a super clean and quiet space, this is it. I was in town for the week and just needed a place to eat and sleep that was private and quiet. This place was perfect for me. I literally don’t think I heard anything outside of the room. Made it very easy to relax. And you cannot beat the price.

But the best quality of the room is the large windows that broadcast a panoramic view of the sparkling bay. Your private bathroom, which is right across the hall from your room, has both a bathtub/shower combination.
Nestled in the lush green hills of East Coos Bay in a quiet, secluded, and serene neighborhood.

Cottage style decor with shabby chic and slip-covered furniture. We are 3-1/2 miles from the North Bend (McCullough) Bridge and only about 5 miles from the nearest beach, Horsfall Beach and the famous sand dunes. You will enjoy your privacy in this quiet little guest house with a very big and gorgeous view, although it is on a residential property that is shared with the main residence. Experience many lovely sunsets right out your living room window.
We are a non smoking residence, sorry no pets. This little cottage is ideal for travel nurses or other travel professionals who may be coming to Coos Bay's Bay Area Hospital or local medical clinics. You will appreciate the quiet and privacy available here. The cottage is surrounded by decking and the view is amazing! The rear of the deck is 10" x 24" and furnished for your enjoyment and includes a grill for your use.
Semi rural area with houses on either side but hidden in the trees. We are on the water facing across the bay looking toward the town of North Bend. We are just outside the city limits by about 3-4 miles (or 1.5 miles if you can fly across the water).
  • Great bay view. Exceptional hosts. Cozy cottage with everything we needed and wanted. Comfortable bed, pillows and furnishings. Jan and Ace are the perfect hosts, friendly and very helpful when we had any questions. We cooked most all meals here so plenty of dinnerware and cooking pans. Driveway down takes a time or two to get comfortable with then its easy peasy! Highly recommend and we would choose to stay here again.

**NO CORONAVIRUS CASES REPORTED IN OUR COUNTY!** To our current & future guests who are concerned about coronavirus: Our highest priority is the health & well-being of our guests. We are closely monitoring & following the guidance of the CDC and the WHO to ensure we are doing our part to keep you & our community safe. While we pride ourselves in our "white glove" cleaning standards, we are being extra diligent about cleaning/disinfecting all surfaces. And, to enhance our guests' comfort & safety we are providing disinfectant spray & hand sanitizer for your use. We want to reassure you that we are open, our space is clean & we're looking forward to your visit.** We believe the interior of our space is as restorative as it is restful. It has been lovingly decorated with the intent to share a part of ourselves with our guests. We foraged the vintage and antique stores all along the southern Oregon coast to find pieces which express our love of nature, whimsy, and serenity. Where possible, décor is comprised of handcrafted, fair trade, or vintage finds. The exposed beams and bay window complement the eclectic, coastal vibe. From the bay window watch bald eagles flying overhead, deer grazing in the yard, and egrets & herons flying between their roosting trees and the estuary. The sounds of seagulls, sea lions, & whistle buoys will delight during the day and lull you to sleep at night. We hope you will enjoy staying in our home as much as we enjoy sharing it with you.
We are located behind the shipyard and oyster farm, directly on the estuary. The estuary-front location is ideal for bird watching and is walking distance from the crabbing dock, kayak put-in, and clamming sands. Drive less than a mile to the Charleston Harbor boat basin and Marine Life Center and ten minutes or less to three state parks (Sunset Bay, Cape Arago, & Shore Acres) where you can walk on the beach, go tidepooling, have a picnic, hike the forested trails & rock cliffs, watch the seals & sea lions congregate, & view the seasonal whale migrations! Visitors at Christmastime can experience the festive Shore Acres Holiday Lights! No matter the time of year, there is always a reason to be here.
  • Super cute and cozy. We saw a family of deer in the evening grazing on the lawn. Such a neat location. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • We loved how the place was decorated and the responsiveness of the host. It’s a bit out of the way, but very quiet and everything we needed for our stay.

  • This is a little jewel and we strongly recommend staying here if you can. The place is clean and cozy and has a lot to offer. Chris and Julie were very responsive and supportive and took good care of making sure we knew where to go and gain access. We were just traveling through and stayed one night but would love to come back and explore Coos Bay some time! This is a very good find and we recommend it to everyone! Angelika and Bob

  • What a great little place to stay all the decorative touches are amazing, having coffee creamer and sugar was such a great surprise, the bedding was plush and cozy, and the place was clean beyond belief. I loved waking up every morning looking out the bay window watching the birds at the feeder. Perfect location to local beaches and parks. Easy check in and check out. Thank you for making this such a pleasant getaway for us

    Michelle2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We were glad we found the place in daylight because finding it in the dark would have been “really, here is where we turn”. A great hidden gem that we will return to if available when we need it. Thanks Chris and Julie!

  • This home is incredibly clean and comfortable. I was visiting for work (and brought my family) but would have much rather spent all day in this beautiful home right on the water. Toys were a big bonus for my kid. Beds were exactly right. Towels so soft. Kitchen had all we needed and was TIDY. I will absolutely try to stay here again. Thank you Lani for providing such high quality lodging in North Bend.

    Joseph2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We didn’t want to leave once we got there. There was plenty of space to make our own meals, and we were able to play cards together as if we were at our own home. Lani’s place was beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean. We would love to stay here again!

    Kala2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was super wonderful. We were able to cook dinner every night and enjoy the high tide while we ate. Beds were super comfortable! We completed two puzzles during our stay, we were greeted with girl scout cookies, it was exceptional.

    Ally2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great location for the area - RIGHT ON the slough - we could see the tide come in and out and see boats going up to Coos Bay!

    Robyn2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really wonderful place to stay. We're looking forward to next time.

    Anil2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lani’s place is amazing! The views from all the windows to look out at the bay were fantastic. We saw deer and lots of birds, it was quiet and peaceful. The house is well appointed, and it was all on one level, no stairs which was great.

  • Made a quick one night pit stop in Coos Bay and Patrick's place ticked all the boxes: clean, cozy and affordable! Also located a couple blocks from all the cool restaurants in town, so perfect for a chilly winter walk after dinner. Only note is that the space on the second floor is somewhat short, may be a challenge for other guests >6'. Otherwise a perfect stay, I'd come again!

Onsite BICYCLES, BEER TAPS, and vintage ATARI rentals! Sample some local craft beer and cider with us! Two Tesla charging stations are onsite and usage is free! We are not fancy, but our guests love us - Built in 1950, we're a mid-century roadside inn located on Highway 101. We are the ONLY Airbnb listing in Coos Bay & North Bend with a COUNTY HEALTH LICENSE and STATE LIQUOR LICENSE for guest accommodations and we undergo regular inspections to maintain these licenses.
We have a cute and clean 5-room inn, located right on the 101 in North Bend, Oregon! We are located ON HIGHWAY 101 which means: #1 - We are super easy to find and #2 - We have logging trucks and other traffic moving along the highway that creates road noise. We only want our guests to be SUPER COMFY and we would rather risk losing your business than for you not to be happy staying with us. Most guests aren't phased by the noise, though, just so you know. This studio features one full-size bed and one twin-size bed, Wifi, flat-screen + cable TV, mini-refrigerator, microwave and locally roasted coffees and locally made soaps! ***We separate room trash daily and participate in Oregon’s recycling programs*** :) This vacation studio is down the block from a bicycle shop (they do great bike tune-ups) and across the street from a market that has great Oregon craft beer and cider on tap, growlers, and serves Umqua ice cream cones. They also have Sugar Shack pastries from Reedsport! Also across the street also is a great little cafe called Moms Kitchen! - Awesome service and breakfast and great prices. Our inn's location is just a walk down the 101, to great restaurants, markets, shopping, with easy access to the dunes, forests or sea. Bicycles and crabbing gear are available to guests for no fee! PLEASE - No smoking, no pets allowed. Thanks. ***Additional Roll-a-way, folding bed is available upon request***i
The North Bend - Coos Bay area has some good eating establishments, plenty of outdoorsy activities, and wonderful people. Let us know what type of meal you're craving and we will hook you up with the 411. Beware! - Locals, for the most part, drive a little slow and brake early on yellow lights.
  • What a gem. This is special place that is run by Rik who has built it with love. You feel safe and well taken care of here - he has thought of everything. Vintage decor, comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, coffee stuff, and a growler you can fill at the front desk or around town. Restaurants are walking distance if are done driving for the day when you get there. Also a great value at such an affordable price! It is next to the 101 (most of the Oregon Coast is!) but I didn't think it was loud at all.

    Cristina2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you love to stay in nice spots with thoughtful amenities and great character, the Itty Bitty Inn is definitely worth a stay. The staff were so kind and helpful. The place was clean, quiet but quirky and super fun!

  • Rik’s place was very quaint and cozy. We had the tiki room. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the cider we tried too. We would definitely stay here again.

  • We stayed in room number 1, a tiki themed room. It was a cozy and cute room with two beds - a twin and a double. There were lots of cool decorations, a nice, warm shower with local soap provided, comfy beds, and it was all very clean. The host was in close contact with me so that Joey and I could check in really late after a long drive, which I appreciated. It was a fun and happy atmosphere and I felt happy to spend my money on their business.

Nestled in the forested canyons of historic Glenn Creek and East Fork of the Millicoma river, you'll enjoy its beauty, while exploring Golden & Silver Falls, hidden gems in the dense emerald forests of southwestern Oregon. Completely remodeled, this cozy little cabin is three miles from the falls, and 21 miles east of Coos Bay. A perfect retreat for a couple who enjoy an evening under the stars with a fire in our fire pit below the cabin, or the gas fireplace on cold winter nights.
Built in the early 60's as a fishing retreat, this little cabin is 50' from the East Fork of the Millicoma river. With a bright open fully-equipped kitchen, WiFi access, satellite TV, laundry, fire pit and a gas fireplace, it makes winter or summer a perfect time to visit. The bedroom has a queen bed and new mattress, and all the blankets and comforters needed for a snug and restful sleep. Enjoy all the seasons, while watching river birds, wild turkeys, otters, salmon, chipmunks, quail, deer and the occasional elk, who venture down to enjoy the river. Watch for Red Tailed Hawks, and a magnificent American Bald Eagle who surveys the river frequently most mornings. You may even see a bear or two enjoying the apples in our orchard. Chinook salmon spawn in front of the cabin from November to January and steelhead fishing starts mid-December and runs through March. Trout season runs from May 26th through October 31st. During the months of July through late September, fill your basket with fresh blackberries or spend time picking apples in our orchard.
Located on the East Fork of the Millicoma River, and surrounded by the 92,000 acre Elliott State Forest and the 210,000 acre Weyerhaeuser Millicoma Tree Farm as neighbors, you'll enjoy the beauty of the Glenn Creek forest canyon. Not isolated nor secluded but private on the river side, the Little Cabin sits 50' from the river. There is no swimming available at the cabin (due to it's natural spawning grounds), but further upstream near Golden & Silver Falls there are several natural swimming holds.
  • Highly recommended!! This place is the cutest little cabin and is perfectly stocked.

  • Lovely little cabin that lives larger than expected! Lovely river location, well away from the beaten bath was just what I was looking for. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

  • The through communication and attention to every detail at this adorable, clean, well-run cabin frees you to focus on the beauty of the nearby waterfalls that are easily accessible from close parking and short, beginner hikes to the waterfall bases. The waterfalls are breathtaking! Directions to the cabin from Dee are perfect, and the guidebook in the counter serves as a up to date ready reference. Highly recommend this cabin, except when I need it to be vacant to visit again! Cheers!

    Jeremy2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Dee and Jim’s cabin is lovely! Every possible amenity you might need is there.; even a full sized, front loading washer & dryer, which we used. We hiked the 3 falls which was easily accessible and was about 3 miles further down the road. I would highly Recommend staying in their cabin it was fantastic!

The home owner is a wonderful artist, her works and her collection of other art fills this comfortable home perched on a hill overlooking Coos Bay.
Perched on a hill, with a lovely view to the east of Coos Bay. WHen fortune smiles and we have sunny days, stunning sunrises are included.

  • Robin and Alice’s place was so cute. I really loved the style. There are many amenities for you to use as if it was just like your own home. Road up is a bit steep, but doesn’t take away from how perfect this place is. I felt very cozy here and hope to return in the future.

    Leanora2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of room in this place. Lots of seating in the common areas and 3 bedrooms each set up a little different means everyone is happy. If you plan to cook your own food you may have to move some stuff to access the cupboards and dig around but the basics seem to be there. Also the back deck is nice but not covered so use is limited during poor weather. We took 3 teenagers and only stayed one night. Everyone enjoyed themselves although none of us slept great as we are home bodies at heart.

    Amber2019-12-22T00:00:00Z

  • This unit is pretty large, and the owners keep it spacious with just the right amount of furnishings. There's not much of a view, just a parking lot, but it's very sunny in the front rooms in the morning. And everywhere is bright, every room has excellent overhead lighting, it's the brightest room I've ever rented. It was chilly when I visited but the heaters work well. Beds are comfy, and the kitchen seems well-equipped even though I didn't make anything but coffee or tea. A couple of notes from someone who has lived in the area: even though the highway is nearby, I didn't hear any road noise. There's a full grocery store a block away and a donut shop that opens at 5 AM if you have to get up and out early. Also, the soil in the neighborhood is very sandy and ants are a constant presence; keep food in containers and clean up spills and you'll only see some occasional scouts. I just needed a crash pad for a weekend but this was much better.

  • Loved the old-time architecture with the modern day amenities! A big plus is that it’s located in a quiet, low traffic neighborhood yet close to everything. It was super cozy and the kitchen was the most well-stocked of any Airbnb we’ve been to for a long time. In addition to the media and streaming services, this is the first time we’ve had a current gaming system available! Plus all the old school board games. Thank you for the chocolate Mike!

  • Rik went out of his way to make me feel safe and welcomed. Love his positive energy and down to earth mentality.

    Malissa2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rik was a great host! Super friendly and had a ton of tips on places to dine! Great communication from him- and he even called prior to my arrival just to check in with me. The property is indeed itty bitty, but it has such great character. Room was clean and I had a very comfy stay. Would definitely stay again if passing through town!

    Francis2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Finds like this is exactly why I use AirB&B. From the moment we arrived on site Rik made us feel like family. His excitement to share his space is contagious. Each room is themed differently. We got the 70's themed room with a disco ball AND Atari! Rik also has hard cider and beer on tap in case you don't want to explore town. And he has a number of recommendations for the best places to eat. This space had an awesome vibe. If you're considering staying here... stop considering. Book it!

    Melissa2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly quirky inn with locally sourced amenities. Rik is extremely thoughtful. He also has great insight and real love for the community around the inn. We loved our stay. We also played Atari and that was fun.

    Sarah2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. A little kitschy and very cool and Rik is an excellent host. If you plan on staying in this city , then you want to be here! Drink the beer.

    Christopher2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was just what we were looking for. A cozy, clean room to crash in for the night as we wandered north. Rik was an incredibly gracious host and has given a lot of care and really nice touches to this tiny little OG motor court. Nothing fancy but definitely fun. It fit the bill wonderfully. Thank you Rik!

    Jules2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The space is clearly loved by Rik and is full of caring and thoughtful touches that make the room comfortable, stylish and full of personality. Rik has also gone to great lengths to ensure that, wherever possible, the rooms consumables are all locally sourced. Tea, soap glassware etc all found in or around Coos Bay - and Rik gives you details of where you can buy some of your own (as well as often having a supply on-hand at the accommodation's office. Lastly, Rik himself is very friendly and would be happy to try and help you with any questions or special requests you may have. I had a wonderful time, and would be sure to stay there again the next time I'm going through.

  • We enjoyed the community food sharing! Being able to leave unused refrigerated items for the next guest was so much better than tossing it. Loved being able to use a salad dressing from the fridge rather than buying a new one I'd not be able to finish

    Rebecca2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place really did feel like a home away from home and I would highly recommend it! It was spacious and comfortable with a supermarket and a few shops etc within walking distance. We were so impressed with all the amenities in the house, it was perfect for us as we were travelling with a young baby and there was everything from children's books and toys to a high chair for the baby and dvd's and board games for the adults! What is more there was plenty of sheets and bedding and everything you would need to cook, wash up, do laundry and lots of toiletries etc too even down to tiny little things such as q-tips and pancake mix. It's clear the owners had really thought about the little details and what would be needed to make guests and especially families feel at home and it really works well.

  • This was a perfect little place with everything you would need for a short stay or vacation. Very well kept and usable..... beautiful location with plenty of parking and outside space. This was my first AirBnb reservation and I’m totally sold. John was super fast at responding and was so accommodating with my last minute requests. I will definitely be booking with John every time I go back!!!

  • We’ll definitely stay again! The location was great (on the water, close to town, and close to family up the hill), the place was sparkling clean, and there were thoughtful little touches (like makeup remover pads in the bathroom). Rental owners were easy to communicate with (but not overly so... he gave us our privacy/space), and check-in/out was a breeze. We loved having our dog there with us, and the tile floors made all the difference. The back deck is lovely for warmer months.

  • A place where you can experience a slow pace quite time. The furniture was wonderful and so comfy. It was clean and spacious! I would recommend this to anyone who needs some great R&R. It's so relaxing and anytime we had questions they were answered in quick manner. The cost was a great value and well worth it. I would stay here again and again.

  • Rik's place is the perfect special place to stay in the area. Each room has its very own character with many unique touches, all have coffee makers but also microwave and a hot water kettle for tea or instant meals. Rik and his nephew are wonderful, helpful people. We have fallen in love with the Itty Bitty Inn the first time we stayed, many years ago, and always love coming back.

The room was beyond clean, the theme amazing, and although its a small touch but the towels smelled amazing unlike most hotels. Thank you Rik, cant wait to come back.

Uncle Joe's Place is a cozy cottage that sits close to the water with views of Charleston bridge and South Slough Estuary. Cottage is 490 square feet, perfect for singles or a couple visiting the area. Located just off Cape Arago Hwy and the town of Charleston. It's a short walk to convenience stores, restaurants and the Charleston Marina. It's up to you if you would like to meet or you can check yourself in with a lockbox. I'm very close by if you need any assistant or have questions.
This small cottage sits close to the waters edge depending on the tide. The entry hall, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom all have short ceiling heights of 7 feet. The dining and living room have vaulted ceiling. The bedroom is in the front of the house and is a tight fit with a queen size bed, dresser and space to hang clothes. The kitchen has basic kitchen items but no dishwasher. A small bathroom is located off the living room and has a stand-up shower stall (36 x 36). The house has no washer/dryer but laundry facilities are close by in the town of Charleston. Smart TV and Wifi are provided, but no cable tv. The best feature of the cottage is the view from the living/dining room of the south slough and bridge. There is also a deck where you can watch the bridge go up and down, watch wildlife and the changing tides. When the tide is out the mudflats are revealed where you can find some of the best clam beds in Charleston. The cottage is called "Uncle Joe's Place" because he built this place and it reflects upon his life and family. Cape Arago Lighthouse, Lifesaving Service, Logging, South Jetty, Lumber Mills and boat transportation are some things that where a part of his life. I've decorated the cottage in a beachy vintage history style to reflect Uncle Joe and his family which is also my family, he was my great uncle. I hope you enjoy the space!
Uncle Joe's Place is located in a tight-knit friendly neighborhood with a mix of retirees and working folks. The cottage is located on a dead-end street with a mix of small homes and mobile homes. Most of the street is owned by family relatives including the cottage that settled the area in 1867. The family is mentioned in the book "South Slough Adventures" which tells the story of the people that once lived here and up the Slough. We are walking distance to Charleston (5 min) and the Marina(15 min). Charleston is a working-class town with fish processing plants, commercial fishing boats, sport fishing, coast guard, general store, post office, restaurants, coffee roaster, bakery, shops, fish markets, Oregon Institute of Marine Biology and their Charleston Marine Life Center. Short Drive from House: - Bastendorff Beach and the south jetty (5 min drive) - Sunset Bay State Park (5 min drive) -Jump on the Oregon Coast Trail for a beautiful hike. -Lighthouse Overlook- Check out Cape Arago Lighthouse - Shore Acres State Park (has Botanical Garden, Thanksgiving to December 31st has Holiday Lights) - Simpsons Overlook- watch sea lions and seals play and rest -Cape Arago State Park- about 6 miles to the end of the road leads you to this state park and some great views - South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve- about 4 miles up Seven Devils Rd. great hiking, exploring and kayaking - approximately 6 miles to Coos Bay - approximately 7 miles to North Bend - 11 miles to the famous Bandon Dunes Golf Resort - 2.3 miles to Sunset Bay Golf This area has a lot to offer from the Sand dunes, mountain biking off of Seven Devils Rd, Hiking, Kayaking, Surfing, Stand Up Paddle boarding, Fishing , Crabbing, Clamming, Tide pooling, Bird watching or just relaxing. I hope you love the area and "Uncle Joe's Place" as much as I do!
  • This place was great! It was extremely clean, comfortable, easy to find - just about everything you could ask for! If I'm back in town I'll be going here again!

  • A friend and I had the sweetest time at Uncle Joe’s Cabin! The perfect space for two people, three could work if you utilized the couch bed. The kitchen was great for cooking in house and stocked well with cooking equipment. The location was peaceful, the views amazing (both stormy weather on the water and when sunny), and the space was so cozy! Mary Sue was an incredibly kind and thoughtful host - quick to respond and gave clear directions for checking in and cleaning up!

  • Perfect little cottage for a couples getaway! Gorgeous inside and out. Cozy bedroom, spectacular views of the water fowl on the estuary from the dining area and living room and little deck. Nautical theme is complete with lighthouse shower door, sailboat night lights, and historical pictures of Uncle Joe and the surrounding area. The soul of the cabin envelops, hugs and soothes you! Highly recommended!

Our farm is nestled in a beautiful, isolated valley on the western slope of the coast range of southern Oregon, with a pristine river named Middle Creek running through. South of that is the quaint town of Bandon-by-the-Sea where the southern stretch of breathtaking sea-stacked rocks begins, leading to the giant redwoods in northern California. Roseburg and the I-5 corridor are slightly over an hour away with easy access to winery tour routes and other parts of Oregon or California.
  • Dan and Micha were very gracious. They were very thoughtful and the farm was great. The space was clean, spacious, warm and inviting. It was wonderful to decompress at their place, really appreciated the extra touches with the fireplace and coffee. I would not hesitate to stay with them again. What a wonderful change of pace and scenery.

  • Stay more than one night!! We interacted with 3 couples over 3 days that all wished they planned a longer stay. Allow yourself time to take in all the beauty! For us, this was just what the doctor ordered. Beautiful and free of the city's chaos of go go go. You can't help but to relax and take in all that surrounds this stunning property from the fog rolling in off the top of the mountains in the morning to wondering through the forest that the property backs up to. We did purchase some of their fresh made items, all deliciously beautiful. Dan and Micha were just the greatest host. Super pumped with their mission of farmstead. Very knowledgeable. All their animals were lovely to see and hand out with. Already planning our next trip to join in on the mushroom foraging and homemade meals.

  • Dan and Mischa's place was exactly how described, we enjoyed every moment. We will specially miss their awesome dogs!!! We highly recommend their place to anyone looking for a peaceful, well maintained place to stay!

  • Dan and Micha’s sustainable farm is a truly magical place. We couldn’t believe how gracious they were and the hospitality they offered. The meals were so amazing and they even accommodated me being vegan which I am so grateful for. I would recommend their place to anyone!!! If you’re thinking about booking, just do it now because they have a 9 week old German Shepherd puppy. :)

  • This farm is a truly special place to stay. Everything was better than expected (If possible). Highly recommend spending two nights so you have a full day to be on the farm and enjoy everything it has to offer. Also, Micha and Dan are extraordinary cooks and their farm to table breakfast and dinner are not to be missed! Hope to come back soon and stay again.

Fire up the barbecue and eat a delicious meal while looking out at breathtaking views of the water and trees as the sun sets. This house has a spacious open concept under a vaulted ceiling with an array of windows filling the space with light.
We are easy to find off Cape Arago Highway but sit on the top of the ridge after the Crown Point Bridge with views of the slough and the estuary with our own beach access. The house is private and secluded but we have perfect cell phone service, high speed WIFI and computer access. Our home is equipped with a Nest Thermostat, as well as a Samsung Smart TV with Netflix, Youtube TV and Amazon Prime.
The cottage is an Oregon Coast Hideaway on the Estuary. Nestled above the private coves and strolling shoreline, it’s a wonderful artistic setting for painting and photography. Go fishing, crabbing, and kayaking from the personal launch.
  • Great place! Super clean and relaxing environment!!!

  • This was our second stay here. It was just as perfect and comfortable as the first. We hope to visit again!

    Miranda2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional in comfort and cleanliness at a standard that is rare to find at the Oregon coast! The beds were very comfortable and cozy. Big living room windows let you see the water come in and out of the bay. There are stylish and comfortable outdoor seating areas in the house front and back, both with fire pits and wood (there is wood there but it is considerate to replace what you use). We brought our two dogs (mini Aussie & Blue healer) who enjoyed the enclosed yard. We only stayed one night but we couldn’t resist cooking up some local seafood purchased at “chuck’s seafood” (recommendation from a local fisherman). The Airbnb has the special utensils that you need for eating crab. As Airbnb “super hosts” we can attest to the work and consideration taken to maintain such a high standard. Do yourself a favor and stay here.... and please go above and beyond as a guest to help support this quality of Airbnb!

  • An incredibly comfortable stay

    Derek2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • One of my favorite Airbnb stays ever! I hope I can come back someday. Such an artful and well thought out home, with luxury amenities like Nespresso and one of the MOST comfortable beds. The view was magnificent and the entire mood was serene and peaceful. Thank you for giving us such a welcome escape.

    Jackie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at many vacation rentals and this place is one of the best. It's beautiful, functional, and super comfortable. Did I mention clean-yes, spotless! Convenient location for day trips to the dunes, beaches, and many nearby state parks. Plus all of the great restaurants in Coos Bay, Charleston, and Bandon. Not only do they have a "pets allowed" policy, it's actually a really awesome place for dogs! There is a big yard to play fetch and it's a 2 minute walk down to the water. Super happy with our stay and can't wait to go back!

    Jessica2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect in every way! I highly recommend this place! The hosts were great!!

    Chad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We think this may be our favorite AirBnB of all time and we've stayed in a lot. It was stylish, cozy, open, and fun. We're already trying to figure out some home renovations to make our own home more like this one. The view was absolutely stunning. The beds were comfy, pillows fluffy, and had everything you could need for some time away. We loved spending the evening around the firepit and being so close to Charleston to run to the store, grab some fresh seafood, or throw the crab pots over the docks. We're already debating when we can get a group of friends together and go back.

  • A wonderful discovery. Tucked in the forest a ways from Coos Bay, the property feels very private and no other homes are in view. The extraordinary view from the deck outside over the forested hills towards the ocean is breathtaking at sunset. The home is cozy and light. All the amenities for travel (however a very limited supply of basics so bring your own coffee, sugar, even olive oil! We were disappointed the hosts didn’t even provide sugar). Other than that a lovely stay - side note: the host is actually Vacasa, a home management service so you unfortunately don’t interact w the real owner.

  • We had a wonderful one night stay at Dan and Michas farm! Loved waking up in the morning and going to see the animals in the farm. We also took advantage of the farm to table dinner they offer for a very good price and it was delicious! Thanks Dan and Micha!

  • This place is the perfect getaway to relax and just let time slow down for a bit. The house and farm were beautiful and well kept and we loved interacting with all the animals (I grew up on a farm and it was never this clean or well maintained!). Dan and Micha were very hospitable but also respectful of our privacy (the perfect type of host). Looking forward to staying here again

  • This place is amazing! I loved everything about this AirBnB

    Nichole2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • As "city folk" we love exploring the amazing rural areas of the PNW. Dan & Micha's place exceeded our expectations. We checked in right before dinner and were greeted by Sprucey, one of their gorgeous German Shepherds. After admiring their produce, we sat down to a delicious farm-to-table dinner with a fun group of guests who were also spending the weekend at Myrtle Glen. Dan & Micha gave us a great overview of the area, as well as the fascinating story of how they came to own and manage the farm. We used the place as a home base to explore the southern Oregon Coast, from Coos Bay down to Elk River/Port Orford. There's no shortage of gorgeous landscapes down there! I'd highly recommend this place if you want a few days of solitude, great food, and positive energy from Dan & Micha! We were sad to leave!

    Clifton2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Micha and Dan are wonderful people and wonderful hosts. If there is any patch of land that explains why I choose Airbnb over hotels, this is it. So beautiful and peaceful. Just a great reminder of the goodness and beauty in the world from the first moment to the last.

    Nicole2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The food, the farm, the hosts - priceless experience. Thanks again Dan and Micha!

    Michael2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dan and Micha were very warm and generous hosts, making us feel at home on their lovely farm. Our room was cozy and the bed was comfortable - away from the sounds of the city, we slept wonderfully. The kitchen is well-stocked. We came for the scenery and relaxation and we had that in abundance. It would be perfect for a retreat of any kind. If you have the time and love nature, I highly recommend taking them up on the excursion to the old growth forest to see some of the oldest douglas firs in the U.S. - that provided us with a memory we'll carry around for the rest of our lives!! I couldn't recommend a stay at Myrtle Glen farm more!

  • What an absolutely wonderful place. Hands down the best Airbnb we have yet to stay at. Outstandingly clean, very quiet, and so easy to find and close to downtown. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed (and coffee, which is great), and each room had it's own thermostat. It was sparkling clean and very cozy. Will definitely stay here any time we are in Coos Bay in the future. 15/10 would recommend.

  • Nice neighborhood, very comfy bed, washer and dryer, hot water, and loved being able to check in late using the key pad on the door. Perfect place to hang out in a family, homey setting while in Coos Bay to visit our college student. We love 7 Devils Brewery and discovered Restaurant O this trip -amazing!!!
