Places to stay in Fawsley
PROS: New bathroom, new kitchen, king size bed, clean, quiet, warm, comfortable, owner out every evening so sole use of house, sofa (TV remote!) and all facilities, small, friendly, self sufficient dog (Border Terrier) Eddie, who is practically mute so no barking but good company! Lovely garden with seating, 10 minutes walk to Daventry centre, short drive to M1, M40, DIRFT, Ford etc CONS: Dog might not be everyone's cup of tea (gasp!) due to allergies. Awaiting carpet after recent renovations!
Adjacent to a park and in a quiet culdesac yet close to amenities, fish and chip shop and handy, local store. This space is a relaxed home from home.
Quiet neighbourhood with little disturbance and friendly atmosphere yet walkable into Daventry town centre for restaurants/pubs/takeaway.
  • Lovely stay and nice breakfast. Lovely host and Eddie the dog is very cute and well behaved

    Claire2020-03-13T00:00:00Z

  • Excellent host! Breakfast ready on the table when you come down stairs!! Great dog called Eddie to hang out with too!

    Simon2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beks and her pooch Eddie were very welcoming. I had everything I needed and more. It was my first time booking an Air B&B room only and after this experience I would not hesitate to do it again.

    Lisa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really great little find if you need a place to stay in the area. Such a beautiful house, with some really lovely touches for you to enjoy your stay. Really peaceful, easy parking and a very friendly dog. Not sure what else you could want for somewhere to stay!

    Tiffany2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay with Rebekah- a really comfortable bed, in a welcoming and warm room, on a very quiet road, meant that I had a fantastic restful night’s sleep. She is the perfect host, friendly and welcoming- and so is her charming dog, Eddie! The house has been really tastefully decorated, with lots of thoughtful and homely touches throughout. I would thoroughly recommend Beks and her house for anyone needing an Airbnb in the area!

  • Always a pleasure to stay at Sarah’s when I’m away in business. It is so peaceful and cozy and she left a little Xmas tree which was lovely 😊

    Maureen2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Love this place as I have privacy, luxury and comfort - everything I need for a great stay! Great shower and amazing bed and bedding.

  • I just did an overnight here so cannot comment on the local area. It is a stylish well appointed apartment. Lovely well equipped kitchen replete with croissants milk marmalade and butter on arrival. There are cereals tea coffee and milk as well as oil and condiments. Comfortable and quiet. Warm bed and a superb shower and bathroom. Thoroughly recommend it. When in the area I would love to return

    Christopher2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great place and a lovely friendly host. We met Sarah a few minutes after arriving and she made sure we had everything we needed. The place is a little tricky to find especially as we arrived after dark but this obviously can't be helped. I would recommend this little place for an over night stop or a few days if you're exploring the local area. 5 stars from me. Thanks Pip.

    Pip2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, clean and comfortable small space, ideal for a couple of nights at a reasonable price. The shower was excellent, and the bed and pillows super comfortable! Tasty light breakfast was left in the fridge. We really appreciated easy access to the unit and the excellent, safe off street parking. The family were around much of the time, but we felt comfortable just getting on with our plans. Sarah was super friendly and communication excellent. Would definitely stay again.

  • Having stayed here before, everything was as I expected and finding it and getting in was easy. As before, the bed in particular was lovely, really nice linen. It was good to see the lush garden in the full bloom of summer too!

  • I was in the area for a wedding and this cottage looked ideal for a little weekend getaway. Before I arrived, Steve provided all the information I needed for my stay and check in, so it was super easy upon arrival to get settled in. The views from the kitchen and living area were amazing and we absolutely loved the traditional decor in the cottage - it was very cosy and homely. We cooked all of our meals in the fully equipped kitchen and the entire cottage and utensils were very clean. The village is very picturesque and we enjoyed a walk down to the canal from the cottage. Would highly recommend a stay here, great value for money 👍

    Danielle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Steves place was lovely and cosy, Steve was very responsive to messages and helped in everyway. Napton is a lovely village with what appeared to have very pleasant people there. I highly recommend the Folly pub the food was excellent and great value for money. All in all a fab place to stay! Thankyou Steve!

  • Steve’s place is warm and inviting. You have all the amenities you need and there is a lovely village shop round the corner. Views are exceptional and Napton itself is gorgeous. We had a relaxing stay and would definitely recommend to others. Thanks Steve.

Steve and his team make sure everything is perfect and get back to you on any enquiries you might have. Close to leam, Warwick and lots of lovely local pubs and walks to be enjoyed. The beds are extremely comfortable, the linen smells divine, you really feel at home - with a luxurious little touch to boot. Can't recommend enough!

Napton on the Hill, England, United Kingdom

Charming one-bedroom character cottage built in 1600 and situated in the beautiful Warwickshire village of Napton-on-the-Hill. An ideal base to take in the stunning local countryside, enjoy a leisurely lunch by the canal side, or explore the nearby historic towns of Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon. A perfect little haven for a relaxing break.
The historic 17th century cottage has a private access. The entrance to the property leads into the cosy character lounge and upstairs you will find a spacious double bedroom with en- suite (featuring a bath, so bubble bath is a must!) Although there is no kitchen in the cottage; you will find a kettle, toaster, microwave (upon request) and fridge (for that all-important bottle of chilled wine) and we also provide tea, coffee and milk so you can enjoy a well-deserved cuppa after your journey. There are excellent local pubs within walking distance for a spot of dinner and the fabulous local shop has a café with delicious home-made produce, including take-away dinners. There is no off-road parking but street parking is accessible adjacent to the property.
The Folly Inn, set on the bank of the Oxford Canal, and The King’s Head are our two local pubs that serve food, and both are within a 10-minute walk of the cottage. Aside from the stunning countryside, the village also boasts a fishery, a reservoir, and even has its own cidery which use apples from unsprayed orchards. You can visit the cidery and learn how the cider is made, taste at least 6 different ciders and pick your favourites from the shop to take away. You can pre book tours and tastings and they also run workshops throughout the year. Our fabulous local family owned village shop, post office and café is only a 3-minute walk away and here you will find everyday essentials plus a whole lot more! Bursting with local produce, the kitchen serves up fresh homemade sweet and savoury food, barista fresh coffee, and the deli fridge will certainly tempt you!
  • The cottage is set in a beautiful, scenic area with loads of walks available. Inside is homely and comfortable. Helen is a fantastic host, very attentive, easy to communicate with and friendly. The extra touches around the cottage and water/tea tray shows helen puts a lit of effort to ensure your stay is good. I would recommend the cottage and area for a well deserved relaxing break.

    Emily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful, full of character and finished really well and to a high standard. Helen is a great host, she left us to it but was there if we had any queries and even let us extend our stay at short notice! Napton is a lovely village with really good amenities including a fantastic village shop. Would definitely stay here again.

  • What a little jewel we have found. We spent our anniversary weekend in this lovely warm cosy cottage where everything had been thought of by our lovely host Helen. She even left us an anniversary card and a bottle of fizz to celebrate. Unfortunately Storm Ciara ordered the weather so we will definitely going back to this lovely home from home cottage so that we can explore the local area. Thank you Helen for sharing this lovely little gem with us. See you in May. X

    Tina2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little place - could easily be featured in Vogue or Elle Decor Home Tours. Simple, humble but full of charm and character. Invisible, very responsive host will take care of every detail of your stay - just as if the place had a friendly ghost :D. Thank you Helen - you are a star.

Your room is 'self contained' so you have complete privacy. The room sits above our double garage. On entering, there is a downstairs toilet, then up a small flight of stairs to a king-size bed and in-room shower. Sorry but we do not offer a cooked breakfast but I do provide a continental breakfast in your room. I also provide fresh milk for tea/coffee. There is also a small fridge in the room. Your hosts will be in the main house during your stay but you will not be bothered ... unless you want to be! Our village has so much character. Our house is Grade II listed. We have splendid walks heading out in all directions from the village. You can then return to a well deserved drink in the local pub (light lunches Monday-Saturday). Closed Wednesday and no evening meals I'm afraid but they serve a great Sunday lunch. The pub also has free Wi-Fi. There is off-road parking. We are only a 20 minute drive from Silverstone Race track, 5 minutes from Fawsley Hall, 5 minutes from Dodford Manor, 15 minutes from Towcester Racecourse, 40 minutes from Banbury, and 20 minutes from Northampton.
  • The place is quite hard to find but Angela anticipated this and sent directions prior to my trip which got me there without hassle. Checking in and out is super simple. The room itself is lovely, very clean and the bed is very comfortable! There was a lovely selection of cereal, pastries and hot drinks for breakfast, and they were replenished while I was out. All round excellent stay!

  • A very stylish loft conversion. Warm and cosy which is not always the case for this type of building. Very well appointed and totally sparkling clean. Breakfast was perfect. Shower works very well. Bed is of a high standard as was the bed linen.

  • The Dovecote is a wonderful place to stay. Very quiet and light and and airy. The bed is so comfortable, you won't want to get out of it in the morning! The room was sparkling clean, the bed linen fresh and nice smelling. The shower lovely and hot. Angela is a fantastic host - nothing is too much trouble. It's a five star rating from me.

  • Wonderful little escape. Lovely sense of 'middle-of-nowhere' within a unique little piece of land. Everything we needed was available in the cabin, and the surroundings were just what we required. We plan to return.

    Paul2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Craig’s place was absolutely perfect for our family! From beginning to end, Craig was very quick and easy to communicate with. The directions to his place were spot on. We came without a car and it was very easy to get a taxi from the train station to his property. The cabin itself was cosy and clean with very comfortable beds and sofas. We spent most of our time on the property so that our small children could play outside. The pigs and the dogs were an absolute hit with our toddler. She looked forward to helping feed the pigs in the evenings. We enjoyed walking along the tow path. 20 minutes to the left is a fabulous pub, The Heart of England, 30 minutes to the right is Heart of the Shires shopping village. We wanted to stay somewhere where the kids could play outside and we could take nice walks... Craig’s place ticked all the boxes for us. We would definitely stay again!

    Krista2019-08-16T00:00:00Z

  • Superb setting. Quiet location but easy access to lots of interesting places. The Folly Inn in nearby Napton is excellent.

  • A lovely stay! The room is secluded from the rest of the house, giving one access to a separate kitchen and bathroom which is great. The kitchen is fully equipped, however we only did an overnight stop so didn't use it apart to make tea and eat breakfast. Breakfast was cereals and milk. The room is very comfy, clean and well decorated. The gravel road turn-off has a few potholes, but with a bit of caution they are easily navigable. Thanks for a delightful stay Ruth.

The Hobbit House is a unique hut made from reclaimed trees. The grass roof is speckled with wild flowers and there is an unfenced fishpond that attracts dragonflies and frogs. Think glamping rather than luxury accomodation! However, there is a fridge, kettle, electricity and lighting inside. A wood burning stove provides warmth on a cold night. Cooking facilities are outside, as is the toilet cabin. There is a small undercover area to sit outside and cook if it's raining. A rustic experience.
An ideal romantic hideaway for two or a great social place for groups of friends. The Hobbit House sleeps 2 on a superking size day bed plus a small adult/child on a small double bed. Groups will need to bring their own tents, equipment, sleeping bags etc and pitch next to it. Using the Hobbit House as a communal area for socialising rather than sleeping. The sofa beds within the Hobbit House are used for seating during the day and fold out to become beds at night. Bedding is stored in a trunk, out of the way. There are 4 power sockets inside, plus a small fridge, kettle, tea and coffee making facilities. The fairy lights both inside and out provide a wonderful ambience. There are extra lights inside which operate independently. A charming fire pit is provided to keep you toasty as you sit outside gazing at the stars. There is a pizza oven/bbq so that you can 'cook your own' and chill out. The toilet cabin has a flushable mains toilet, shower and hand basin plus space to store your bags.
Dodmoor House and Dodford Manor wedding venues are a 5 minute walk from the Hobbit House. Attractions nearby include Silverstone Circuit, Towcester Racecourse, Saints Rugby Ground, Althorp, Cannons Ashby House, Sulgrave Manor, Coton Manor and Gardens, Northampton/Daventry/Towcester festivals and shows, Braunston Canal Junction, plus many waterside and country walks through fields and woodland. Neighbouring County Warwickshire offers the delights of Warwick Castle, Coombe Abbey and Stratford Upon Avon. Dodford is conveniently situated near to Junction 16 of the M1. Close to Long Buckby Train station (direct access to London Euston) and within 45 minutes of Birmingham International Airport or Luton Airport.

  • An excellent place to stay. A lovely venue, with darker skies and loads more stars than we ( as townies) usually see. The ability to come and go independently was a great freedom, the local pub was an excellent recommendation from our Host for food, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The make-your-own breakfast was cereal and/or toast with good quality ingredients, and suited us just fine. The room was lovely and warm, and the large shower- room and loo were spotless and stylish. The location was a rural delight yet very close to the M1/M6 junction so road transport links are excellent.

Good food and atmosphere. We walked back in the rain, took us roughly 15 mins. We recommend to take a head torch, it all added to the fun.

Light and spacious fully furnished one bedroom ground floor flat with views of open countryside. Nestled beside ‘The Folly Inn’, a traditional country pub with a charming garden. Perfect for holidays or business trips all year round.
Spacious open plan kitchen/ living space, double bedroom and bathroom. Off road parking available.
Napton on the Hill is an active village in the heart of Warwickshire countryside, easily accessible by road and rail. Just 10 miles from the M40, there is lots to see and do in all directions, and we are ideally situated as a base for visiting Stratford- upon- Avon, Warwick Castle, and the Cotswolds. There is a wonderful family run village shop a short walk away, Napton Village Store and Kitchen, with a well stocked shop, post office and café. The Oxford Canal runs beside the cottages, and is the perfect place to enjoy a walk surrounded by open countryside. Or bring your bikes and make the most of the quiet country roads and views, with some excellent pubs to visit along the way.
  • Spacious and comfortable accommodation but Wi-Fi is a problem. Great having the pub next door and it wasn’t noisy. Lovely walks along the canal. Only one shop for miles around which is expensive and no take away establishments nearby at all. However we both had a lovely relaxing time getting away from it all.

    Wendy2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's place is in a good location, it is right near a canal, footpaths and a very good pub. Leamington spa is a 20 minute drive. The property is fairly equipped and cosy. We have stayed here twice already and would highly recommend.

Next door to a local pub and very near to Oxford canal for lovely walks or just watching barges going up&down the locks. All in all a gem of a place which is perfect for a break at any time of the year. We will definitely return.

Luxury glamping Tipi with wood fired bath tub on the banks of the Oxford Canal. Our Tipi is set in the middle of our 450 acre working family farm, with lots to see and do in all directions. The cosy bed has a thick duvet and hot water bottles to keep you warm, along with a wood burning stove inside the tent. Outside are wooden deckchairs and a fire pit where you can BBQ and toast marshmallows. Cooking facilities are provided in our converted shipping container, Ox Hovel, a short walk away.
Our Tipi is 6.5 metres wide and has a comfortable wooden bed with a thick duvet, hot water bottles and 300 thread count linen, so you can snuggle into a warm bed at night. At the heart of the tent is a wood burning stove, keeping you warm in all weathers. We provide firewood to get you started and can deliver more to your tent if you run out. Outside your tent are wooden deck chairs and a kadai firebowl, where you can BBQ, toast marshmallows, or use it to stay warm while you stargaze. There is an ingenious private eco loo just seconds away hidden away in the trees with a solar lit path at night. Just outside the tipi is your private wood fired bath on the banks of the Oxford Canal, it is a beautifully designed Swedish hot tub made from aluminium and oak. This is very much an experience so please be aware it can take up to an hour for the wood burner to heat the water, but it is worth the wait!
Priors Hardwick is a pretty village in open countryside on the border of Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. There is a popular restaurant in the village called The Butchers Arms which is within walking distance, as well as a good selection of pubs nearby for supper. The nearest train station is Banbury station which is 56 minutes on the train from London Marylebone.
  • Emily was a really accommodating host, only a message away with any help we needed. The tipi was lovely, really warm bedding and in such a beautiful location. Getting the wood fired bath going and sitting there watching the world go by in peace was amazing, even in October!

    Amber2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent time in the tipi. It was warm and extremely comfortable, despite the torrential rain and heavy winds, thanks to the stove within it (plenty of firewood was kindly provided). The outdoor bath was an absolute joy. Emily was an incredible host, extremely accommodating and keen to give out tips on the local area. I can't recommend it enough.

    Rory2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a beautiful birthday escape from the city at the Tipi. The location is beautiful and quiet and we had everything we needed! Would 100% recommend 😊

  • A great get away with a niche twist allowing one to experience camping on a canal with some added and truly enjoyable luxuries.

    Ryan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleased with visit, I think everyone should sleep in tipi and have outdoor bath at least once. Location was really nice and the passing narrow boats and wildlife were an added bonus. Would recommend a stay.

    Kim2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a fabulous and relaxing bank holiday weekend at Tipi Slinket. The tipi is large and contains a full sized double bed with high quality sheets and a wood burner. Outside, you'll find a huge wood-fired bathtub and a fire bowl for barbecues. Fire lighters and wood are provided, but you'll need to bring some charcoal. The bath is connected to the water mains, so there's clean drinking water available. The bath takes at least an hour to warm up, so keep that in mind. A small shed nearby amidst the trees houses an eco toilet. A short walk away is a shipping container, inside which you'll find a shared kitchen area. Alongside, there's an outdoor heated shower. The water was always hot. Emily was helpful and very communicative throughout. In all, we recommend a stay here. It's was a unique and comfortable experience.

    Matt2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience especially in good weather! The facilities are great and the hosts have thought of everything. They went above and beyond to make it a great weekend. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a weekend away in the country with a difference.

    Rebecca2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the tipi was an absolute dream - quiet surroundings, private except for the narrowboats going past! The swedish bath was great, although we mostly used it with cold water to cool our feet during the heatwave! The lamb burgers were so tasty and Emily was fab at organising them last minute for us whilst she was on holiday herself! Great stay, thanks!

  • Such a charming place. The whole room including en-suite is simply stunning. The bed was very comfy. Drinking facilities were available in the room. Netflix available on the TV. The shower was big and plenty of hot water. Emily and John also made me feel very welcome. The decor and ambience of the room was so lovely. I would definitely recommend staying here 100%.

  • Cozy, comfortable quiet private room offered a great nights sleep. Really good, private hot shower was fantastic.

    Lynn2019-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This little room continies to get better. The more time I spend here, the more I lke it. Having an early start in the morning means that this room in the house (just off the kitchen and conservatory, is ideal because I do not disturb the rest of the house when I go for breakfast. What I noticed this time around was the absence of a loud-ish clock, a new wall-mounted magazine rack and the electric bed. I had seen the black control pad for the bad. This time I got to play which made it very comfortable to read in bed but less easy. DFid I say how comfortable

    John2019-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • One of the many quirks about this stay is the number of different objects you will find on the walls and shelves in this room. From cacti to old books, a giant LOVE sign to all manner of hidden gems. PLenty of tea, chocolate powder and coffee available, even a diddy little fridge to keep your milk cool. It's always good to stay over here, be it one, three, or four days.

This beautiful annexe is set in the grounds of my picture book cottage, located in the quaint village of Everdon. Surrounded by spectacular countryside, this newly created dwelling has lots of character and personality. It has a secure equipment store for outdoor pursuits enthusiasts and provides a relaxed environment with home comforts. The rooms have tranquille colour schemes with crisp white bedding, soft towels and good quality pillows.
Separate to the main house, overlooking the fields, guests can enjoy splendid walks, neighbouring Northamptonshire villages and the many local attractions. Rear of the Plough B & B, was completed in June 2018 and was a conversion of outbuildings using a variety of reclaimed materials. NOT2B has twin beds or a king size bed, , en-suite with shower, heated towel rail, toiletries, tea & coffee making facilities, homemade biscuits, free view TV and WiFi, I provide chilled fresh milk on arrival and also outside your door in the morning. BreakfastI would be delighted to give you a fine quality breakfast which will be served in my own farmhouse kitchen and cooked on my aga: • Granola • Cereal • Bread • Toast • Butter • Homemade Jam • Homemade Marmalade • Full English Breakfast with locally sourced ingredients • Tea • Coffee • Fruit Juice
I always like to greet my guests personally where possible and will meet you at the front door, show you to the dwelling and offer you refreshments. The rooms have private entrances from the front yard. They are situated down a narrow private road in front of my cottage with onsite secure parking in the yard. I will email a full set of directions and instructions upon receipt of booking and would encourage you to print these as the postcode will only take you to the top of the lane by the public house.

Honeymoon Cottage is a beautiful stone built property, situated by the stream. Two bedrooms available (bookable separately) sleeping 7 in total. Dodford is a small, sleepy village with a beautiful open ford. Honeymoon Cottage is ideally located away from the main road, surrounded by fields, with no immediate neighbours. It's equi-distant to both wedding venues (Dodford Manor and Dodmoor House) which are just a 5-10 minute walk, less than half a mile. Silverstone circuit is a 20 minute drive.
This charming country style bedroom with private en-suite is situated on the first floor of our house. It is fully self contained with private access via an external metal spiral staircase. Enjoy the panoramic views from your own balcony, whilst enjoying a cuppa or a glass of wine. Not suitable for people with mobility issues. Staircase is spiral and quite narrow - 12 steps. We are happy to carry your bags/cases to the room. The camp bed is suitable for a child or small adult only. See our other self-contained en-suite bedroom 'The Garden Room' on airbnb. Also sleeps 3/4 people.
  • Great and convenient place for wedding venues. Very friendly host who couldn’t do enough for you! Great stay - would recommend

  • Amanda & David were amazing, really warm welcome and we felt at home in their lovely cottage. Extremely well looked after and made to feel very special. We stayed here the day before the wedding and on the wedding day that was at Dodford Manor, perfect location and we would recommend to anybody. Thank you once again for everything! Abbie & Carl

    Carl2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent two very comfortable nights at Honeymoon Cottage, myself and my husband in one room and our daughters and granddaughter in the other. We were attending a wedding at Dodford Manor and the location could not have been more ideal. Amanda and Dave even offered us a lift! Everything we needed was provided and the facilities were first class. The views we're lovely. The only thing I would mention was that the upstairs, double room was reached by an external metal staircase which is only suitable for people without any mobility issues (or phobias, which out daughter suffers from). The downstairs room however was quite accessible with a great'wetroom' type shower. Altogether a lovely experience.

    Debbie2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda really lived up to the super host title. Not only is her place gorgeous with lots of lovely touches but she and her husband could not have been more helpful and welcoming as hosts.

    Kevin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous weekend at Honeymoon Cottage. Beautiful setting, high standard room with lots of lovely touches and extras thrown in, and exceptional hospitality from Amanda and Dave. Nothing was too much trouble (and we asked for a fair few things) and the welcome couldn't have been friendlier. The two rooms have independent access so it doesn't feel like you are intruding too much on Amanda and Dave's home, and the lovely garden is large has several areas that can be occupied without getting in the way too much. We were attending a wedding at Dodmoor House, which is walkable but probably not in high heels ladies. As it was, Amanda dropped us off which was great. Taxis come from Daventry so already have a fair bit on the meter when they pick you up, so Amanda giving us a lift was most welcome. We can't praise Honeymoon Cottage enough. It's lovely in every way and we'll definitely be back.

  • If I was to run an AirBnB this is the model I would use. Prompt communication, accurate description, warm welcome, lovely touches in the accommodation and a 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude. Thank you both for such a lovely stay.

Large bedroom with en-suite facilities in large five bedroom country house with spa facilities (sauna/steam room and Therapy Treatment Room - extra charge for treatments). Badby is a conservation village with 2 village pubs\restaurants a few minutes walking distance. Popular with walkers to Badby (bluebell) woods. Nearest town is DAVENTRY a few minutes drive. Also Banbury and Leamington Spa 30 minute drive away. Train station in Banbury for London and to Birmingham from Long Buckby.
Host is a qualified Health and Beauty Therapist with Treatment room on site for holistic and Beauty treatments (aromatherapy, sports massage. Sauna and steam room. reflexology, facials).
Badby is conservation village well known to walkers for Badby Woods. There are 2 pub/restaurants easy walking a few minutes away. Nearest town is DAVENTRY few minutes drive. Banbury and Leamington Spa both about 30 minutes away. Also Birmingham by train from Long Buckby.
  • Caron's large house is in a lovely quiet village. We were two friends meeting for an overnight stay and it was perfect for this. We had a good meal in the Malster's Inn, a five minute walk from the house, and went for a beautiful walk through Badby woods on the Sunday. The bed was comfortable and Caron and her husband were friendly and accommodating - faultless hosts. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful self contained one bedroom detached cottage with parking
Pretty self contained one bedroom cottage, with ensuite bathroom and king size bed. There is a well equipped kitchen area with a microwave, electric hob, oven/grill, slow cooker, toaster and tea and coffee making facilities. Unfortunately I am unable to provide a cooked breakfast but will always ensure you have some milk and a small welcome pack (croissants/bread, butter, preserves, yoghurt, granola and fruit) for your immediate needs. If you wish to make your own cooked breakfast there are adequate facilities to grill and fry or you can just use the small oven/grill to warm the croissants through. Tea and coffee (instant and filter) is available for your use. We keep some sliced bread in the freezer so can you have fresh toast whenever you like, with a small selection of preserves (including our homemade jams). The living/dining area has a dining table and chairs for some intimate dining by candle light, or stretch out on the sofa after a days walking with a well earned cuppa or beer/wine and a take away. Alternatively pop out to the pub/cafe next door for supper. (please note however, that The Romer Arms is not open on a Monday). We have an agreement with the Romer Arms (Maria & David) that if you would like to take your supper/lunch back to the Annex to eat, they will happily plate something up for you? The food is Portuguese and the facility more of a cafe than a pub, however we would thoroughly recommend the seafood stew, monkfish stew, skewers and tiger grilled prawns. The food is prepared fresh when ordered so it is best to give them some advance notice if you have time constraints. However, there are other great local dining options (information on the sideboard with our personal recommendations all within a 3/4 mile radius) The small oven/grill is also quite handy for pizzas and ready meals. Please be careful that as the oven housing does get hot when used for a long period of time. If you are mega organised, why not use the slow cooker so your supper is waiting for you at home after your long walk.
Great walking location, and easy access to the market town of Daventry. Newnham is surrounded by beautiful countryside providing great walking to neighbouring villages which offer a variety of eating and drinking venues. There are also a selection of local takeaways that will deliver to Newnham from Daventry. We are approximately 2 miles from Fawsley Hall, 2.5 miles to Dodford Manor/Dodmoor House wedding venues, 10 miles to Althorpe House and Estate, and 15 miles to Silverstone with easy access to the M1 junction 16 or 18.
  • A great place to stay with easy access to Daventry. Great host very hospitable. Apartment is well kept and great as an alternative to a hotel.

  • Karen’s place was great - we spent 3 nights relaxing over new year in a lovely annexe with lots of unexpected personal touches. Information provided made it really easy to spend our time well, so we took on a 3.5 hour walk through the countryside (which was beautiful) with a great pub lunch half way round). A perfect place for a short getaway!

    Alexjevedib2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karen is helpful, and adds the little touches that make it special. It was so lovely to walk into a thoughtfully laid out area, where we could relax, and make ourselves at home. Really good value for money, and I thoroughly recommend Peartree as a place to stay.

    Tor2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We received a warm welcome from both Karen and her husband Martin. Nothing was too much trouble. A great location with super walks.

    Sue2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Martin were wonderful hosts and could not do enough for me. The cottage is so welcoming and snug and I very much enjoyed a relaxing and quiet 3-week stay taking in the country air on my daily walks. Hayley (labrador) was an added and unexpected bonus and proved to be a delightful companion. I hope to be back next year! … Nataliya.

    Marc2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home from home in a great location. Easy to get to and plenty of places to eat in the local villages. Comfy bed, fluffy towels and a good shower. Great selection of items in the welcome pack including cake and wine - always a welcome addition!

    Rachel2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely peaceful stay at Pear Tree Cottage. It's a really cosy space in a quiet village and we slept so well! It was also lovely that Karen left breakfast things for us - one less thing to worry about. We hope to be back soon - especially as we didn't have chance to use the picnic basket!

    Rachel2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A little Gem with a Perfect Host! This place is a little gem, it is gorgeous, with decent characteristic furniture, set in a beautiful little village, photos do not do this place justice. Karen was a fantastic host, nothing is too much trouble, and all the attention to detail makes it a perfect stay. The property has enough space and facilities you require for a stay, plenty of storage, whatever you require Karen has thought about it already! The bed is super comfy, lounge space has a tv with freeview if you fancy staying in and chilling, Karen has also left details of anything local you need to know about, including walks, pubs, takeaways etc. We used this as a base for MotoGP at Silverstone, it was ideal as about 20-25min easy drive away. The only negative I found was that we were out all day every day at the MotoGP so we didn’t spend much time in the annex, so will be booking again so we can fully experience the local area!
