  • After going out to the Skelligs I had planned on spending the night in Cork. Luckily I found before my trip that only two buses leave out of Cahersiveen, one at 7:30a and the other all 11a. Seeing as my tour wouldn’t be over in time I canceled my hostel in Cork and instead booked a room at O’Sheas. When I arrived Linda greeted me and helped me get the lay of the land. She showed me on a map a nearby castle, some beaches and two nearby forts. If you’re like me and don’t have a car, the walk isn’t too bad on a sunny day! I had two American sisters ask for directions and they ended up giving me a ride, so I can’t speak for sure about the whole walk. I went back to the fort with another solo traveler and we watched the sunset. It was truly spectacular. I had a great sleep at O’Sheas and loved how close it is to everything. Since I had to leave prior to the start of breakfast Linda left out some fruit and bread for me to take. I did get to meet Pat on my way out and he was just as friendly as Linda. The walk to the bus station was less than 5 minutes away!

  • Very friendly hosts, wonderful place.

    David2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice rustic B & B The room was fine and the breakfast delicious The coffee was so so good I could not stop drinking it

    Thomas2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy room and nice breakfast. Plenty of places to get food within a stones throw from the place.

    Jason2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is very centrally located and offers what you can and expect from a B & B. The special thing is actually the handling of the guests and the great Irish breakfast, which makes the stay different from others. If I am traveling again in the area I will gladly book my overnight stay with Patrick (father of Linda)! :-)

    Joseph2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • O'sheas' B&B is the best ever. Patrick and Linda are simply the best. When you tell the locals where you are staying and you say the O'shea's B&B they all smile and say that's a great place you lucked out. A place to stay is all you need, but they give you the best breakfast too. Also put the brown sauce in your tea. Its' so Friggen good. Do yourself a favor and stay at O'Shea's for as long as yo can. Make the O'Shea's B&B be your. home base.

    Kevin2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place is clean and comfortable and Patrick is sweet and helpful. I recommend that you stay there.

  • Great location in the heart of town! Easy access to everything you need. There’s a parking lot across the street too! The apartment is quiet, spacious, and private. This was our second stop and we had a ton of space to repack everything.

    Caitlin2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend this clean bright spacious apartment apartment with a great central location. Check in and out was very smooth. It’s also great value for money. The one thing which would enhance it even further is a refurbishment of the bathroom including a new shower door and a quieter cistern refill although it did function fine.

  • The house is very modern and minimalist but very cozy. Everything was spotless !! What I liked was that there was enough cleaning supplies to clean up in between. The kitchen is very well equipped, only a coffee machine is missing, which was not bad since we had our french press. A fourth seat, and Wi-Fi would be great ... The contact was great and the check in worked fine! The location is quiet and nice. We would come back anytime! Thank you Roisin

  • Hands down the best place we have stayed while in Ireland! The outside view of the hills and river are absolutely incredible. These views are only topped by the amazing hospitality and attention to decor on the inside of this lovely apartment and by it’s host! Trish thought of every detail to make us feel welcome! Breakfast was great as well.

    Richard2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best places I've ever stayed. Trish and Seamus are absolutely nice, friendly and we felt very much welcomed. The bungalow is big, with nice decoration, in a very quiet area, next to the sheep and the river, with a nice view. That's the kind of place were you recover all your energies - no stress and so much peace. Worth mentioning that all this experience comes with an amazing breakfast and delicious scones . We absolutely loved it. Thanks Trish and Seamus. Will return one day for sure.

  • Do not pass this place up! Trish’s place is the best AirBnB I’ve stayed at! She is an amazingly warm and thoughtful host and the countryside surrounding her home will take your breath away. This place is a must!

    Brittany2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed in multiple places across Ireland during our honeymoon, and Trish’s home was by far our favorite. It had an amazing view, a private and cozy atmosphere, and of course, amazing hosts! Trish baked us two small cakes to share in celebration of our marriage, and we were so touched by the thought (and the baking)! Both she and her husband gave us fabulous tips about what to do and where to go while in Cahersiveen. We cannot recommend her place enough!

    Bosses Point, County Kerry, Ireland

Updated and spacious 2600 sq. ft. waterfront home with lofty ceilings, large windows, a conservatory and private patio to enjoy dramatic views stretching from Cahersiveen to Valentia Island. Located "over the water" from Cahersiveen along the Ring of Kerry in a quiet, countryside setting, yet only a short walk to town for food, drink and shopping. Ample, free onsite parking. Enjoy the many personal touches. You're staying in the host's own home--not just another vacation rental.
Home is newly refurbished with all the amenities: large refrigerator, built-in microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Furniture and linens are all new.
The home is located at the end of a private lane, 150 meters from the closest public street. It sits on an approximately .7 acre lot, with only one adjacent neighbor. While the rowing club next door may bring out young people on summer evenings to practice, overall, it is an area of quiet and solitude. Please treat the space and my neighbors with respect.
  • Don’t hesitate: book. Wonderfully appointed kitchen, comfy couches, a fireplace, comfy beds, wonderful views. This house has it all. You will relax and unwind. Personal and thoughtful touches make this a real home away from home. The host (and cohost) were always available. We had a magic week here and are very thankful we found this house in a great location for exploring the Ring of Kerry.

    Suzanne2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you looking for a place to stay, Stay here!! This was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at! Location was amazing right on the water with a short walk to town. Tons of space, two bathrooms and washer and dryer! The town was prefect with a ton of places to eat and great music in the pubs in the evening. We will definitely come back and stay here again! Thank you Barbara!

    Mary2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough about Barbara's house! Sitting in the most comfortable chairs in the living room looking out over the water and across to Cahersiveen every morning with your coffee or tea is a glorious way to start each day! The house is exactly as pictured and described and then some! All the little extras provided in the well stocked kitchen, the lovely bedrooms, the exceptionally comfortable living room, the sun room; we weren't left wanting for anything-except maybe some sun but I think that's one thing that may be outside of Barbara's control. You will not find a more attentive host. Every question was answered within minutes but with all the information provided in the house, there is not much you will have to ask about. I am always very appreciative of having local guides and information about the area we are visiting, as well as the booklets for household appliances that may function a bit differently from my own. Easy driving access to all the local sights, Killarney, the Dingle peninsula, Valentia Island and easy walking distance to Cahersiveen which has everything you will need from groceries to baked goods to pubs. If you are looking to stay somewhere along the Ring of Kerry, you will not do better than Barbara's house!

    Christina2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The home is in an excellent location with stunning views. It is in a great location for exploring the Ring of Kerry, Skellig Ring, Ballycarbery Castle and local stone forts. It was so relaxing to come home every night and enjoy the spectacular views from the house. I would certainly stay here again.

    Laura2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you're staying in Cahersiveen with a big group, or you're planning an elopement out at Ballycarberry, look no further. Freckles Castlequin was even better and more beautiful than we expected. My fiancee and I stayed here with my parents, his brother and girlfriend, and my brother. There was plenty of room, the kitchen got used, and exploring the grounds and waking up with a cup of tea in the solarium was lovely. Check out QC's, O'neills on the Point or The Ring of Kerry hotel for dinner, absolutely delicious and all very close to the house. The SuperValu is also close, and a great resource for breakfast and necessities. Walkable, although we were here in October and didn't chance it due to the sudden chance of rain!

    Amanda2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous house. It's located about a ten minute walk from the town centre, in a very quiet secluded area overlooking the river and marina on the opposite side from the town. The house is well laid out with mod cons and beautiful views. Barbara was a great host, she is very quick communicator and is very helpful. Her co-host Brian is very helpful and informative and has a lot of useful local knowledge and recommendations. Our stay here was magical. The weather, for most of our stay, was wet and windy but that didn't impact on our enjoyment at all, in fact, sitting overlooking the river in the conservatory with a coffee is a delight no matter the weather. On the sunny days it was just bliss. We cannot recommend this house highly enough and look forward to another visit.

    Eddie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Freckles is a perfect getaway with wonderful views, thoughtful touches, and impeccable hosts.

    Kate2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location if anyone wants to explore the ring of Kerry, just on the waters edge so perfect for walks. Plenty of room for larger groups as they're many places to sit to enjoy the views in the well lit rooms, a short walk into town where you can find plenty of shops for food, gifts & good pubs near by .

    Jack2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here in a nice location, the space itself is really good and has more than enough for a nights stay. We thought the area itself would be darker for the dark Sky reserve but actually it is quite a bright area with spotlights close by and in the distance. Aside from this we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend. Thanks

  • Colette is the most amazing host ever met. I would not change her place for a five-star hotel if both were at the same price. Outstanding host with 5-star hospitality. The place is stunning in all Airbnb criteria and Colette place just become my perfect standard of Airbnb. The best compliment I can give is that on the same trip I paid one night in an overpriced hotel and it was far worst than Colette place. I miss Colette and her lovely dog the moment we left the village. Perfect host and I totally recommend Collete´s place.

  • Ait Sonny is a perfect getaway to breathe the pure Atlantic air and enjoy the stunning view. Close to the Skellig Ring. The house is beautiful, well equipped and very clean. Irene is a lovely host and we loved the fireplace!

The location is superb, accessible, absolutely stunning. Irene is a lovely host, helpful, kind and available. We will definitely be back!

  • We had a wonderful time, it is a very nice house with a wonderful view, everything was very clean and the communication with the landlady was very good. Would love to come back

    Nikolai2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Irene is a wonderful host who responds quickly to correspondence. She lives near by and can drop in if needed, but will leave you to enjoy on your own too. Ait Sonny is a beautiful place that is actually fairly new, but rebuilt to the same charm of the old place that had been on the property. It has the feel and character of a much older home, but is in excellent condition and very clean! The views are outstanding, you could sit and read a book, just looking at the view all day long! With the 3 large bedrooms and 3 washrooms with showers, this house would be great for a family. It was also perfect for just my husband and I spending the week celebrating our 25th anniversary. The location is also really good within reasonable driving distance to Killarney and the Dingle peninsula. I would definitely recommend Ait Sonny as a great place to stay, we hope to return again too!

    Dawn2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ait Sonny cottage is a really lovely property with the most stunning of views! It has everything you need, a well equipped kitchen, cosy living room and amazing sun room. Lenka2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Hi Irene, thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage! View was amazing after days spent exploring Kerry! Would recommend this place to anyone!

The property boasts high spec interior and triple glazed windows so you can enjoy a good nights sleep after a busy day exploring the many beaches and mountains or enjoying a trad session in one of the many traditional Irish bars Caherciveen has to offer.
The house has just been renovated to a high standard in the past year. Walking in the property the sitting room is on your right, boasting plenty of comfortable seating with a tv and free access to SKY tv and Netflix etc. There is a large disabled friendly bathroom downstairs with great lighting and mirrors. The ground floor also has a stylish kitchen providing all the necessary equipment needed for the perfect self catering holiday. Upstairs provides two much larger than average bedrooms and another bathroom with bath and shower. One of the upstairs bedrooms has a smart tv built into the bed making it easy to catch up on all your Netflix series after a busy day. There is ample storage with built in wardrobes and mirrors surrounding. There is a newly renovated back yard which is a beautiful sun trap in the summer and makes the perfect area for dining al fresco or just relaxing with a book in complete privacy.
You are in the centre of all the action here but once you close your front door you have the silence you need after a busy day\night. You have private back yard so you can sit out for some fresh air or dine al fresco if the weather allows.

    Jesus2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely warm welcome at a very lovely place. The room is big and offered alot of leaflets for things to do in the area. The bathroom had alot of shampoos, conditioner, lotion and even fresh flowers. We asked her if we could use her kitchen and she explained everything and of course gave us permission to use it. Breakfast was plenty. We had a bowl of fresh fruits, cornflakes or musli and different kind of bread incl jam and honey. Water and also a god of orange juice. You could see the castle from one window and the fort from the other. Scenery and hospitality wise one of the best experiences we had.

    Nathalie2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure to stay with Mags! It felt like a home away from home. She gave us many tips and it was fun to chat with her. Her house is gorgeous and very clean. The breakfast was delicious with some fresh fruit! Thanks again for a fantastic time! Would recommend 100%.

  • Patricia has a beautiful house with everything you need. The open plan living and kitchen is very comfortable and with the sun shining we could sit outside on the patio and relax. Portmagee is just 10 mins and the cliffs are "spectular" We would highly recommend and hope to return in the future.

  • Nice big house, perfect for 6 people. Parking for 3 vehicles on the property. Super equipped. Also little things: tabs for the dishwasher, washing powder for the washing machine. The location is excellent: directly in the Ring of Kerry, a village with restaurants, pubs and supermarkets within walking distance and still very quiet.

    Ute2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia's house is so spacious. The marina view is awesome. The house and the view are much better than the pictures. She is also very responsive and provide lots of local information. The location is great if you are planning to explore the Ring of Kerry. SuperValu is about few minutes drive, we cooked for couple nights and didn't want to leave the house for dinner.

    Kit2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia's place is absolutely fantastic. The place is so spacious with so many personal touches. The setting is so beautiful and it is so nice to spend the evening looking out over the marina! It is only a 5 minute walk from Cahersiveen which has lots of excellent restaurants and bars to visit. All of the restaurants that Patricia recommended were delicious and some of the local bars have a great atmosphere and even live music. Cahersiveen is in a fantastic location and it is in close proximity to many of the beautiful attractions that Kerry has to offer. If you are planning a trip to Kerry I would 100% recommend Patricia's place!

Mags Place is a beautiful seaside home 100m from Ballycarbery Castle Caherciveen. It is situated 'over the water' from the Wild Atlantic Way . Staying here you are close to a castle, ancient forts and beaches. Restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, nightlife are just a short distance away You’ll love this place because of the views, the location and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids) & small groups.
This listing is for a bedroom with a double and a single with a private bathroom. The room has a comfortable double bed and is ideal for solo travellers or a couple and an extra single for another guest. Please check my other listing for a further room if required or send me an inquiry with your requirement.
Just down the road you can visit the castle and the famous ancient stone forts are just a few metres away. This is a great area to explore. The house is close to The Wild Atlantic Way, The Skellig Ring and the world famous Ring of Kerry so easy access to all the important sights and attractions. As you go towards the famous market town of Cahersiveen you visit its Barracks and enjoy the local restaurants A short drive or cycle you can take the ferry to the delightful Valentia Island. The seaside villages of Portmagee, Ballinskelligs and Waterville are all just a short distance away. The Iveragh Peninsula is located within the newly established Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve with ideal conditions for skywatching and stargazing. The reserve has Gold-Tier status: this is only the 3rd of its kind globally and the first in the northern hemisphere. On clear nights it’s so nice to go for a walk in the moonlight or to spend to identify some the amazing amount of stars visible due to the zero pollution. The area is surrounded by miles and miles of rugged coastline, fantastic beaches of all sizes, islands and fabulous mountain scenery. If you are into water sports I can advise the best spots for surfing, scuba diving and swimming. (Plus, you’ll have a feline roommate if you desire—-a purring tabby cat named Bubbles who jumps in the window for a visit.) Highly recommended.

  • Stunning location! Not far from Cahirsiveen with beautiful views and amazing historic ringforts a short walk away! The cottage is very cosy with nice living space to gather people around. We were there over New Years so we’re looking for a cosy place to spend time. Veronica gave very clear directions and the place was very well set up with a well stocked kitchen (lots of pots and utensils), DVD player, hairdryer and extras like lots of toilet paper, turf for the fire, etc.

    Joanna2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

Veronica was great for making contact, giving directions, local advice, etc. There is lots to do in the area and it is a great base to explore what the Ring of Kerry has to offer. I thoroughly recommend Calcar house to anyone looking for a break away.

  • Our family stayed at Calcar House in March 2018. It was as advertised, a great country cottage with amazing views. Plenty of space, but warm and cozy feel. Our young daughters loved the country experience. The biggest bonus was the local people we met, very friendly and engaging. Wonderful experience all around. The Pelhank Family

Welcome pack on arrival. Situated at the foot of Beenatee Mountain and approximately 4.8km from the beach. This spacious home offers you the opportunity to explore the hidden gems in the area. The house is full of light, peace and welcome. Situated minutes away from many shops, restaurants, bakery, bars and nightly music sessions during the summer season. At the doorstep is the starting point of the Beenatee loop, mountain walk. Let the adventure begin, come and enjoy this magnificent area.
A place to sooth the soul.
TimE Out Retreat House is set in a quiet area off the main centre, at one corner of the Fair Green. This green area leads to the Beenatee loop and the home sits with the mountain on the right. The bird song will certainly lift your spirits.
  • Great location for touring the Ring of Kerry. We had our 2 young children and loved that there was a playground across the Green from the house. 2 minutes walk from the Main Street with many restaurants and pubs to choose from. Mike Murts pub in particular had good trad music. Anne was really helpful, the scones on arrival were a nice touch and the house was very well stocked. Well recommended.

    Jane2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Anne’s house is nicely laid out, with two living rooms and two of the four upstairs bedrooms having en-suites. It’s located less than a minute’s walk from the Main Street of Cahersiveen, making it very convenient for shops and pubs. Our two young children enjoyed the playground located opposite the house on the green. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!!!!! Wonderful accommodations and even better host. If this location is available I wouldn't look anywhere else. Anne the owner was so charming and welcoming. Anne has lived in Cahersiveen her entire life so she was able to recommend the best local locations for hiking, sight seeing, restaurants and pubs. She explained and marked off every point of interest in the Ring of Kerry on a map that she provided when we checked in. FYI - She was spot on with her recommendations. Provided us with local scones and jam that were delicious. Spotless house with spacious bedrooms and a nice back yard. Cahersiveen was our favorite town in the Ring of Kerry. Unspoiled by tourism and people were incredibly friendly. Location is only a block from downtown. Great little pubs with local entertainment. Be sure and eat at Camo's. Fresh Fish served any way will be amazing. The Point is great for a sunset dinner. If you like to hike you have to check out Cnoc n dTobar. Also the Cliffs of Kerry are a must see. This was one of the best vacations we have experienced thanks to Anne accommodations and recommendations. Thanks Anne. Hope to see you again soon.

    Bryan2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and family are the perfect hosts. Time Out is in a great location - close to Valentia, Derrynane, Cahirdaniel, Waterville, Kells Gardens and Beach and the ring forts. We could have stayed longer!!

    Fiona2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A big lovely house to put feet up after a day of adventuring. Take your time in Kerry and stay at Anne's place! There is a perfect kitchen, washer & dryer, and plenty of bathrooms. If you have kids, the green and the park are perfect. The recommendations that come from Anne are spot on, take them!

    Jaclyn2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • You can't be disappointed if you book this house, I am sure you will enjoy.

    Ludo2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Anne's in Cahirsiveen. It was an activity-filled few days; with lots of hikes in the local hills, boat rides out to islands, swimming in the sea, and walking along the coast. We loved having a comfortable clean base to come back to in between our adventures. The house is spacious, light and airy and has its own back garden with an outdoor table and chairs for when the sun shines. We had mixed weather but even when it rained we could cook and hang out in the living rooms, or make the brief journey to Mike Murt's around the corner for a drink and some music! The main street is a minute's walk away and there are plenty of pubs, restaurants, grocery shops and a bakery within a stone's throw. There's no shortage of walks and beaches to keep yourself occupied in the local area, all within a half hour's drive. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Anne's. Anne and Padraig were so warm and hospitable and made sure we were fully equipped for the stay, as well as giving us lots of local tips. Plus, the showers are incredible after a long day hill climbing and swimming in the ocean!

    Cat2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • House is a minute walk from the town. Very large, spacious and was immaculate. Anne was very flexible with check in's etc. Couldn't recommend more, it really is a perfect location and accommodation.
