  • This place was outstanding, and amazing hospitality during our stay there!

  • We stayed at the cabin for two nights , it’s a lovely clean comfortable space. Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to use the hot tub due to the weather but think a privacy screen/fence would be useful had we used it though as the main houses window do look over the cabin. The village and area are lovely, welcoming and well worth exploring! We visited a number of local pubs for food and drinks and were pleasantly surprised by them all would definitely visit again!

  • A lovely, homely and takes you back to nature cabin! The little valentines touch were completely unexpected and delightful! The quality of the bedding, towels and amenities were as good if not better than any good hotel. Even though storm Dennis had different ideas to what we had for the weekend, a great stay!

  • A lovely remote location in a friendly village. The cabin is very clean and very stylish. A perfect couples retreat.

  • A perfect little cabin for a weekend’s stay, lovely little extras provided including some lovely bath robes, milk and coffee (and bubbly!) waiting for us upon arrival. We got good use out of the hot tub - and really enjoyed the peaceful setting in a beautiful part of Devon. Would recommend!

  • Warm and cosy, sparkly clean and comfortable, Jo and Gary made us so welcome in their fabulous place, just perfect for a weekend away. Many personal touches made a weekend away extra special. Wonderful, thank you Jo and Gary. 🥰

  • We loved the Cosy Cabin, it was perfect for our time away and the village was in an ideal location! The cabin was spotless and as the name stated, lovely and cosy for the evening time, the cabin has everything you will need for a few days. The local pub a short walk away is very friendly, where we enjoyed a few drinks however would have definitely eaten there! We would highly recommend the Cosy Cabin to anyone wanting to visit the area.

  • If you want to escape it all then this is the place for you! Very clean and tidy with lots of thoughtful extra touches from the hosts. The cabin was nice and cosy and quiet which is exactly what we were looking for. Whilst the cabin is in close proximity to the hosts own home (in their garden) this does not impact on the cabin and it feels very private. Wonderful hosts and would highly recommend.

Explore the South West Coast Path, then snuggle up for a relaxed night on the quaint, checked sofa at this cozy, single-storey cottage nestled in a shared courtyard. Whitewashed stone walls, pastel-hued panelling, and soft cream creates a snug feel.
Set in Marldon Village, these lovely former farm conversions nestles within a courtyard setting and is the perfect couples retreat or small family holiday
The house is in the charming village of Marldon, close to the seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham with their quirky shops, pubs, restaurants, and galleries. The sandy beaches of Torre Abbey Sands and Goodrington Sands are also nearby.
  • Jasmine cottage is situated in a quiet but central area of a lovely Devon village. We found the cottage in a converted barn warm and welcoming on arrival. Very well designed layout with an open plan living dining kitchen area and 2 ensuite bedrooms arranged on each side. The cottage was spotless, beds comfortable and linens and towels high quality. Lovely walks around the village and Church inn does an amazing Sunday roast. Really recommend its location.

    Sally2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a great place for relaxing at February half term and exploring Paignton and Brixham. Just enough for us 2 adults and 11 year old and 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Shower was great and whole house was warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and we had breakfast at home. 2 pubs within walking distance. Good choice of board games our son enjoyed. Internet connection was good. I’m sure in the summer with more crowd the narrow roads could be a problem. Also parking is tight so smaller car would be better. Would recommend Rockfish in Brixham for seafood. All in all it was a great experience

  • Great place & great host!

A luxurious, rustic haven away from it all. The luxury bits: French linen bedding, robes, soft towels & toiletries, woodburner, a good book, no street lights...You'll probably sleep better than you have in years. The rustic bits: There's a simple compost toilet, hot water in a generous sink and flannels, but no shower.
Our guests often say their stay in the cabin felt like a little pause from the real world. A moment to recharge. We've left it as simple as we can, without foregoing any of the little things that make relaxing time out peaceful and happy. The kitchen is properly equipped, including a fridge and little Belling oven, there's fresh ground coffee, tea, herbs teas, sugar, and a selection of board games, books, and off-the-beaten-track magazines. But our wifi doesn't reach the cabin, and we've not made any attempts to change that. If you do need access to the internet, you are welcome to pop into our house and connect to our network, but we also suspect that you'll be quite glad of the excuse to ignore your emails for a brief moment.
Landscove is a pretty and highly sought-after village in the South Hams. A village hall, a fantastic gastro pub, primary school and church are about the only things that interrupt the organically-farmed fields and Devon lanes, and with no street lights in the area the nights are blissful, and the stars shine bright.
  • The cabin was so cosy and a perfect little retreat. It was decorated very stylishly and everything was clean and comfortable. Linen bedding was an unexpected surprise! Would definitely return!

  • Beautiful space in a great location near Dartmoor.

    James2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute cabin spacious yet cosy and the fire kept us toasty even on really frosty mornings! Thanks for making our weekend extra lovely

    Alex2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin that is amazingly snug with an excellent stove, a comfy bed with gorgeous linen. I slept with the window open and was enchanted by the ethereal full moon. I was serenaded by my favourite country sounds on waking early (my normal habit) - the cockerel and the chattering crows wheeling in the sky above the cabin. A wonderful place to retreat and go within, and close enough to "Ben's" to stock up on good food

The barn is nestled in a small hamlet with a handful of houses and makes the perfect base for a spot of isolation. You will be hard pushed to bump into anyone. Get away and soak up our wonderful view over Devon countryside and the fresh air! We take our guests’ health seriously, ensuring every surface is cleaned with disinfectant and we use high water temperatures for all our washing. We also provide cleaning products, soap and hand wash that you can use during your stay.
Our barn is stocked with essential food items as well as an ‘honesty’ mini bar. We also provide logs for the fire, plenty of magazines, books, games, WiFi and a TV. Most guests don’t even need to see or interact with us, the hosts, but only if they wish to, at a safe distance. Our closest village, Stoke Gabriel, is still open for business with a well-stocked village shop offering free food deliveries and The River Shack on the water front of the River Dart is open for al fresco dining and take-away wood-fired pizza. There are countless green lanes, fields, paths, hills, coastal walks and valleys to traipse over with little human contact. We can provide you with a list of all the spots where you can visit. Our place nestles in the small hamlet of Aish above the village of Stoke Gabriel near Totnes. Sit in front of the wood burning stove and peer out of the double height window to the fields and the river Dart beyond. Some mornings, you’ll see our resident male pheasant strutting his stuff on the garden wall. Occasionally, you may also spot a deer or two in the orchard or fields below. We are environmentally minded and do as much as we can to help lower our impact on the planet. Please see below, and our house manual, for a list of our eco credentials. We have used high quality fixtures and fittings throughout. The king sized bed is super comfy. The sofa bed is brand new and is a pull-out version rather than one of those uncomfortable fold out ones! The kitchen has been made bespoke by a local artisan and comes equipped with everything you might need including a full size oven, microwave and a small hob. As the space is small we can't include absolutely everything but please do ask us if you need anything at all! We also leave essentials such as tea, coffee, milk, olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper ready in the kitchen making it that much easier to relax the minute you arrive. The garden is adjacent to our own but has its own little terrace with a small table and chairs - as well as a BBQ. We have kept the place as uncluttered as possible to allow guests to escape the everyday. However, if there is anything you feel you need please just ask and I'm sure we can provide it! Please note that it is best to have your own transport if staying with us as Aish has no amenities. The closest shop, pubs and restaurants are in the village of Stoke Gabriel which is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk away. We are environmentally minded and do as much as we can to help lower our impact on the planet. Here are a few of the things we do: The barn is run entirely on electricity and therefore uses no fossil fuels. We have a 4kw solar panel system on our roof that helps generate electricity for the barn. For any further electricity we use Bulb Energy, which buys all of its electricity from renewable sources. We use biodegradable bin liners and recycled loo/ kitchen rolls. We use refillable options for cleaning products and washing powders that do not come in plastic. We use entirely organic ingredients in our scones and leave you organic, local milk. The teabags we choose (Clipper) have no plastic in them unlike most teabags. You will find reusable shopping bags for you to use in the kitchen. We provide a water filter so you don't need to buy bottled water. We recycle as much as possible.
A short drive away, nearby Stoke Gabriel is a lively village with a well-stocked village shop, two pubs, a BYO bistro, and a cafe on the waterfront by the Mill Pond. Totnes and all its restaurants, cafes, and shops is also close by car.
  • Just perfect! Lovely touches on arrival (flowers and fresh scones!) Cracking view over the countryside so great for a weekend getaway for us city people. Couldn't recommend more highly! xxx

  • Such a lovely space, super stylish and super clean. In a quiet setting but close enough to the town and lots of things to do! The guide was amazing and so helpful, especially the restaurant recommendations. We would definitely go back again! Thank you!

  • Susanna was a great host and made sure we were ok in the middle of Storm Dennis! The barn was beautiful and we had a lovely time - would highly recommend this

    Charlie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was perfect for us, cosy and stylishly appointed. The view out across the valley was just incredible, and we spent quite a lot of time just gazing at it and watching the buzzards circling over a distant field. Susanna was the most thoughtful host, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, including baby equipment. It made our first holiday with our little one so special, and easy!

    Lucy2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with amazing views, would highly recommend!

Only 4 miles from the medieval market town of Totnes and within easy driving distance of Dartmoor, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and some of the best beaches and coastline in the south west The cottage is Sally’s home has three available bedrooms with a bathroom for Airbnb guests. The nearby country lanes, villages and rolling hills of the South Hams are 'quintessentially English' and are very picturesque. Idyllic walking countryside.

  • Sally was an outstanding host and made our family of 5 feel very welcome in her lovely home, beds and bathroom were perfect with lots of small touches that all added up to a wonderful experience, great breakfast and helped us with a pub booking... nothing was to much trouble and we would love to stay again... many thanks from us all, regards Stuart and Catherine

  • Lovely isolated place where we got to recharge our batteries in peace and tranquillity. 4x adults, a toddler and a Labrador and we had loads of room in a lovely clean and inviting home. Indoor fire was amazing and a cosy nights sleep in the lovely beds. Highly recommend to anyone and Sally really looked after us and made us feel warm and welcome.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Jules’s place! The house met all our expectations and the personal touches that Jules included made us feel welcome and comfortable. It felt like home from home for our family break and we will return next year.

    Lisa2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend this place. The accommodation is lovely and spacious with generous bedrooms. Jules is a great host, she obviously puts a lot of thought in to what guests would appreciate during their stay.

    Matt2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jules’s house is in a great location with spectacular sea views. The rooms are all tastefully furnished and spacious with lovely attention to detail. Jules is great at communicating and very amenable to special requests, eg flexible check in and check out. We had 12 in our group for a school reunion and could not have asked for a more perfect home for our weekend away. We will definitely be returning!

    Peter2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accommodation - the amenities were just perfect for all ages. We didn’t really need to leave the house. Fantastic host - would highly recommend if wanting to explore the English Riviera!

    Zoe2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jules’s place was wonderful , clean , tidy and very spacious just what we needed for our family birthday get together . There were some really thoughtful special touches from Jules which were un-expected and very much appreciated . The rooms are very spacious and even though there was 12 of us we never felt we were ‘on top of each other’ . If you have small children there are lots of games and toys for them to play with and we also took full advantage of the table tennis and dart board to keep us entertained . Jules even allowed us to check out later which was fantastic . Thanks Jules , I will have no hesitation in recommending your place to friends and family and feel sure that we will be back again sometime .

    Siobhan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jules is a great host who made us feel really welcome from the start. We hired her house for the weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday. With three families and a dog, there were certainly lots of us, but enough space that it didn't feel crowded. Much bigger than pictures suggest! Little touches like birthday banners, balloons and a treat basket for dog, went a long way. The kitchen is also well stocked with herbs, tea bags, sugar etc. Hot tub was a great treat too! All round, a fab weekend.

    Sarah2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! As a group of 11 there was more than enough space and the house was sparkling clean. Everything you need is there and Jules made us aware she was only a text away should we require anything, definitely recommend 100%

  • Skylark is a truly idyllic location for a peaceful and private getaway. It is perfectly located to explore Devon and beautifully appointed to provide a bit of luxury. If you then add in the walks around the area, the amazing hot tub and the exceptional pub with gastro pub food within walking distance, this place had it all. Big thanks to Emma and Kevin for making our stay so perfect. Becky and Simon

This annexe is a self-contained space in the heart of Totnes with views up to Totnes Castle. It's a five minutes walk from Totnes railway station and ten from the river Dart and its path to either the bottom of town or to the beautiful Dartington Estate. We have a south facing garden that guests are welcome to use and private parking. The annexe is five minute's walk from the top of the High Street with of all its amenities. Totnes is renowned for its independent shops, cafés, pubs and history.
Please note that there are two sets of three steps approaching the annexe. Private parking is available at the rear of the property along with the access to our garden. The washing machine is situated in the basement adjacent to the annexe, the annexe itself sits beneath the kitchen of our family home so some general household activity can at times be heard above. The annexe is comfortable and cosy, the house itself is Victorian and has the quirks and charms associated with an older property.
Totnes is situated in South Devon, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beaches and Dartmoor National Park are easily reachable by car - taking anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes for a selection of beautiful locations. Totnes sits on the main rail network between Plymouth, Exeter and beyond. The River Dart flows through Totnes and lovely walks can be taken in either direction along the river paths. The local ethos encourages independent trade meaning there are plenty of lovely, quirky coffee outlets, pubs and restaurants, as well as other pursuits such as regular markets, live music, cinema and literary events.

  • Amazing location, very cute place. Host was very helpful.

    Elizabeth2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • A charming little apartment located conveniently close to the railway station and the town center. The apartment was very clean and full of beautiful details. There was an extra heater there so the temperature wasn't a problem even in the wintertime. It was great to get oatmeal, crumpets and jam for breakfast! The tea selection was way better than in any other Airbnb I've been to... I got a quick and friendly reply to all my messages. The only minus in the apartment was that as mentioned in the description, at times there can be a lot of sounds from upstairs (steps, talking, music), so this is not for the best place for sound sensitive individuals, at least not without earplugs. There was no noise from outdoors though, since the apartment wasn't on the side of the street.

    Anne2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had everything we need at Ali’s. Cosy, comfortable, well-located & a great host. Thank you!

  • Tim and Linda's flat was absolutely perfect. It was comfy, warm and cosy with so many little extras that we weren't expecting. We were severly delayed checking in due to storm Dennis and Tim was still friendly and welcoming at 10.30pm. Giving us a full show around the flat and making sure we were settled in. They provide everything you could possibly need and a great range of food for breakfast, including eggs from their chickens! Fab stay!

  • Upon my arrival I was greeted with a very warm welcome by Tim and Linda who showed me around the cottage. I was genuinely impressed by their hospitality and attention paid to detail, they have thought of everything to make you feel at home and provide you with a comfortable stay. Many food items were provided including bread, butter, sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, milk, cereal, tea, coffee and other cooking essentials. Located in a peaceful and picturesque spot on the edge of the moors, Tim and Linda’s cottage is excellent value and a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area, I would definitely stay here again! :-)

  • A simple room but spotlessly clean with comfortable mattress and I had everything I needed, including a choice of breakfast. Very interesting to see Nette making her beeswax food wraps!

    Eleanor2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying here - it was VERY clean, cosy, warm, welcoming and a lovely breakfast too! It's really quiet in Week and only a short walk away from the Dartington Estate which is where I was heading each day. The view from my window was lovely including daffodils and snowdrops, and one evening on my walk home an owl was chatting away! There's a great little garage in Dartington where you can get supplies and Totnes only a short drive away too. I didn't meet Nette but her partner Rob and little dog Jack who were super hosts. Would highly recommend this quiet little retreat for your stay in Devon!

  • I had a very pleasant stay at Suzanne's. She is a kind host and her house is located away from the business of Totnes town centre so nice and quiet. I had great views from my bedroom and it is a pleasure to bale to use the kitchen and cook my own food. A wonderful place for a retreat if you need one.

  • Suzanne is a lovely, warm person, who leaves the whole house to you. You can make use of everything in the house, including the kitchen. She gives you all the privacy you need. We didn’t see her a lot, because we were away all day, but the communication was good and fast. We could keep our bikes safely in her garden and there was a parking space for our car next to the house. It was a great place to stay.

  • Suzanne's home is simple, very clean and comfortable with all the usual facilities. Suzanne is very friendly and welcoming but respects your privacy. She is interested but not intrusive, gentle, clear and organised. It is important to get directions beforehand!

Perfectly placed to explore vibrant Totnes. A good sized bedroom with a comfortable double bed in the heart of the town. Ideally suited for solo travellers, or couples looking for a relaxing, and clean space close to all the independent boutiques, cafes and bars. Breakfast is included, and you can choose from a range of cereals, home baked bread, preserves, fruit and juice (We provide both dairy and non dairy milk.)
A great place to stay whilst attending a course, or as a base to explore Totnes and the surrounding area. Our quirky house is over 250 years old, a Georgian building in a medieval town. We are right in the middle of Totnes, near to the historic Royal Seven Stars Hotel, the Curator Cafe, the Norman castle, the market square and numerous cafes, bars and independent shops. It is very easy to stay here without a car; there are good public transport links including rail and coach. The bus and coach stop is just across the street and the train station is a 10-15 minute walk. The house is light and airy in Summer, but warm and cosy in the Winter months. We are happy for guests to make use of our kitchen and sunny decked terrace. Our house contains hundreds of books you are most welcome to read. In particular we offer: -super fast wi fi access -tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom -an earth friendly, sustainable household -100% cotton bed linen and towels -eco friendly, vegan toiletries: soap, shampoo and conditioner -clothes storage - hair dryer, iron and ironing board are available on request
Totnes is a thriving town with a diverse and independent community. Many of its residents are artists or writers. It has bags of history and character. It has a wide range of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, quirky independent shops, live music events and venue spaces. The town has a rich heritage, and thereis much to see and do: a museum, a Norman castle, Ghost walks, Transition Town tours, and colourful markets filled with antiques, artisan food, and bohemian clothing. The location of the town offers easy access to Dartmoor and the South Hams AONB and coastal areas. There are also great walks around the town, offering routes to Sharpham and the Dartington estate.
  • Mel's place was the respite I badly needed . Her home is at the heart of the town centre and everything is a stone's throw away. Less than a 10 minute walk to the train station. Great transport links, although I walked everywhere. Lots of nice footpaths if you're into walking and hiking. For those with mobility issues, there are some stairs you might need to climb.

  • Apartment in the center of Totnes, easy to find, less than 10 minutes walk from the station. The Schumacher college where I was going is accessible on foot in 30 minutes by a pedestrian path. The bedroom on the 1st floor is right next to the bathroom. Everything is perfectly clean. Mélanie is welcoming and very cheerful. I recommend this accommodation :)

  • We stayed in Melanie's cosy attic room with a glimpses of the hills beyond. We had just the kind of breakfast we like in the kitchen and then explored. We turned right out of the front door to catch buses just 30 seconds walk away for Dartmouth and Brixham, and to start a walk along the river Dart. We turned left out of the front door to find an array of interesting independent shops and cafes all with a friendly chatty atmosphere. We highly recommend the restaurant Gather, and going to the Totnes Cinema, full of easy chairs, sofas and tables to sit at while you sip a glass of wine through the film.

  • Clean, bright, beautifully restored building, easy access and very central. Plenty of extra info on the town in the room, as well as a selection of teas. No parking on premises but clear directions to nearest places, very helpful and friendly.

Welcome to ‘The Loft’! A light and spacious one bedroom maisonette which offers a contemporary feel with all the cosy creature comforts one could possibly desire for a delightful getaway... If shopping is your thing The Loft is located within an 8 minute walk of the historic and hip High Street of Totnes. Dartmoor National Park and the beautifull South Hams coastline are within easy reach particularly if you have your own transport, and private off road parking is provided right outside.
The Loft is a unique peaceful hideaway conveniently located within easy walking distance of the hustle and bustle of the town centre. As a guest you have the run of the entire apartment, which offers a very comfortable environment to relax, work or to be creative.
The Loft is located in a quiet residential area across the river from the historic old town. This location offers the benefit of all day sunshine, plenty of space, trees, views and parking.
  • This was a 5-star stay for us. The bed was comfortable with thick, soft bedding, the house was spotless and colorful, and the area was extremely peaceful and friendly. We also loved watching all the birds amongst the trees outside the windows. This place felt like an extension of our own home and I didn't want to leave it. We highly recommend a stay here and walks around the neighborhood to see how many animal sculptures you can spot, done by the neighborhood artist who does it purely by donations to recipients' favorite charities.

  • Lovely place in walking distance of Totnes. The living room is lovely and bright on a sunny afternoon or perfect to hide from the storms. Would definately recommend Any and The Loft

  • This was our second stay at Amy’s in Totnes. It is a great flat with lots of space for 2 people and very liveable if you want to stay in and cook etc. It was as sparkling clean as always with lots of thoughtful touches. This time because it wasn’t raining we could enjoy the views over Totnes and the Dart Valley. Thank you again Amy! Jenni and Nick xx

    Jenni2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Amy's. The flat is really nicely decorated and furnished. The location is great, only a short walk to Totnes high street. Amy was quick to communicate, and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

  • Amy's place in real life was just as the pictures show - full of character and really homely. We had great furniture and plant envy! It is a short walk to Totnes High Street and Amy couldn't be more helpful with speedy communication in the lead up to our stay. We'd definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Totnes!

  • We were a family of 4 with 2 small children and had a great time! The place is lovely and well prepared for young children. It is very quiet and the beds are super comfy which makes it a nice restful place. The living room is very nice and even if we had a day of bad weather, we managed to keep the children entertained with the many toys and books in this big area. Great place to explore both the seaside and dartmoor park.

  • We had a fantastic stay at The Cider Barn, it is such a beautiful property with amazing views over the river and to the Church. We sadly didn’t get time to visit the pub next door but it looked great, the situation is idyllic. The inside is really stylish and cosy with bedrooms on the ground floor, the beds and bedding were super comfy. The spacious open plan kitchen and living room, complete with log burner, are on the first floor which makes the most of the stunning views. We were visiting Devon with our children (aged 7 & 5) and it was perfect for us, the kids loved it. Susy and Ben were great hosts and very helpful, we will definitely visit again.

    Geri2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Cider Barn is a really stylish and comfortable place to stay in a beautiful Devon village with lovely views of the church and fields beyond. There's a fantastic pub a mere stumble away, and Totnes is only a few minutes' drive. Ben & Susy were great, generous hosts.

    Hugo2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful holiday home that is private yet conveniently near the owners. It is perfect for a couple or family of 4 with a lovely double bedroom and two singles in a separate room. You are close enough to the excellent local pub, not walk too far, yet far enough away there is no noise. The beautiful Devon countryside can been seen from the windows of the open plan living space, it is an excellent escape. There is a train line nearby that rumbles but is not disruptive, in fact it is quite relaxing. Close to the town of Totnes an amazing historic town, 20-30 minutes to the beaches or in the other direction you're in Dartmoor. A brilliant place for a Devon base.

Once part of an old mews, the house has been converted into a modern and spacious home, with bright, light filled rooms. Guests benefit from their own staircase, leading to a private bathroom and large bedroom. Ideally situated within the Bridgetown area of Totnes, the town - with its wonderful array of independent shops, cafes and restaurants - is a 5 minute walk away.
My house is in a peaceful mews, tucked away in an old part of Bridgetown, on the other side of the river from the main town. There's a parking space available in the courtyard outside.
There''s so much to say about Totnes ! A medieval town with incredible charm, its vibrant culture and independent outlook make this a unique and stimulating place to visit. There's a fabulous cafe just over the bridge, where you can get excellent coffee ; they do great Italian food at lunch-time and in their Osteria restaurant on the first floor
  • Had a great stay, beautiful and interesting house. Really handy to pop into Totnes for a coffee. Would definitely recommend.

  • I had a great stay at Laurence's house. It is a lovely, calm space and is a perfect base for exploring Totnes and the surrounding area. Laurence was very welcoming and friendly - he responded to my emails immediately and gave me some very helpful tips on local places to visit.

    Jessie2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laurence’s space is great! Totnes is a lovely town with lots of quirky shops and cafés and he’s centrally located so everything is walking distance. It’s a little tucked away, so just treat finding it as part of the adventure(!) or ask him for help. His house is made up of two halves, and there are two Air b’n’b rooms that share their own bathroom, stair and lounge space. The room is simple and spotlessly clean and the bathroom is lovely. Laurence provides a nice breakfast and great conversation but also respects your privacy if you wish. I would happily stay there again.

    Eileen2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Laurence’s place is a great find. It was perfect location for us. We could park there and walk to places nearby. It is very central so you can gently stroll to the market, shops and eating places. It was very quiet with no noise to disturb us, just some distant cries of seagulls to remind us of the sea. Our stay was comfortable and easy going. We couldn’t stay for breakfast as we were meeting friends, but it was there for us and we could take some for the road. Laurence was very welcoming, giving us space and privacy, but was around when we needed and gave good tips and advice of the local area. We would stay there again. Thankyou!

  • Cosy attic space with interesting books/decor and a perfect location between Totnes and Dartington. It was raining while we were there so we didn't avail of walking into Totnes, but it would've been possible if it were drier. Sarah provided a simple and tasty musli/toast breakfast and was very welcoming.... two lovely dogs there as well. The room was tidy and clean and as described. It got rather warm in the night, but there are two skylight windows that can be opened with birdsong just outside. Parking is also available, which is convenient. Thanks again Sarah!

  • It was a fun, comfortable and east one night stay in Sarah's space. Her attic room has a very comfortable bed and a great full bathtub in the center of the room. Fun! And her decorations are creative and worth a trip in and of themselves. Enjoy your stay here!

I have a mid twentieth century house with large windows, full of light. It's on the edge of Totnes, with the sound of sheep grazing and with wonderful views over Totnes itself and on to Dartmoor. There are wonderful sunsets to be seen and you can sit on the bench outside to admire them from the garden. I am into healthy nutrition and aim to provide my guests with delicious but healthy food. I'm also able to give plenty of suggestions for places to go and things to do in and around the area.
My house has a warm, welcoming, homely vibe, bringing into focus its architectural origins and making the most of them. It has an airy feel, being near the top of the hill with wonderful wide views of the sky and surrounding area.
Bridgetown is a quiet area and my house is on the edge of it, close to open countryside. Totnes is an amazing and unique town - very pretty and with much to offer being close to both Dartmoor and the sea.

  • As mentioned In Sally’s description, this is on the far edge of town at the top of the hill, but does offer a quiet and safe base to stay with good views of Totnes Castle and church. A good night sleep was had with a comfy bed and a nice touch of fresh lavender placed in the room. Very good value for money, and we left Totnes having made a lovely new friend.

  • This is such a lovely cabin - I came for a few days rest and recuperation and loved every minute. Perfectly equipped, super-cosy and dry, comfy and clean - superb communication from my hosts at the farm and no disturbance. Perfect for a retreat or a getaway, I left knowing I'll be back before too long. Thank you!

  • Magical place! We had a wonderful night and a unique moment in this wonderful cabin. In addition the host is very pleasant. I highly recommend :)

  • What a fantastic cosy little place. Just like the TARDIS it looks bigger on the inside. We stayed at the time of the second February storms (Dennis) but other than a few flooding roads on the way this didn't cause us a problem. We arrived to a lit wood burner which Tom kindly sorted before hand. Everything was spotless. A lot of thought has gone into this accommodation to make it a perfect stay. The bed is amazingly comfortable and we both slept soundly. It may look small but I fitted in at over 6 foot. The kitchen was very well equipped. We brought lots of extras with us that we didn't need, tea, milk etc. Tom has provided the essentials and lots of very kind extras including the daffodils and books and games . The accommodation is very secluded so if that's what you are after its perfect. If you want local shops, a pub, stuff to do then its not for you We will definitely be back to stay again during the warmer months as it would be nice to see the organic garden sprung to life. We would definitely recommend this unique little find.

  • We had such a perfect time at Tom's cabin for my partners 30th! It has everything you need and we were lucky enough that Tom was available to show us round his organic farm and introduce us to his horses. Such a wonderful location and would recommend for anyone to stay here for a cosy getaway! The log burner was lit for our arrival and we enjoyed a delicious bottle of apple juice from the farm. Just idealic.

  • Tom's Cabin is nestled in the beautiful countryside just south of Dartmoor. The location is perfect for visiting nearby towns Dartington, Buckfastleigh and Totnes, and as a starting point for walks. The cabin was so cosy, and Tom kindly lit a fire before our arrival to make sure it was warm. The kitchen was provided with all the amenities you need for cooking simple meals, and we even enjoyed a game of scabble, which was also thoughtfully provided.

    Melissa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • When I choose a whole house, I hope to find a nest to settle in, especially if it rains, as often in Totnes ... Muriel's cabin is a warm, cozy, pretty, well-equipped, sober, peaceful nest. a nice place to be with yourself while having, right next to what to walk, go eat in a pub .. and like me, go after to Shumacher College. Muriel is very nice. She reacts quickly to any message concerning the cabin. so great. I recommend!!

    Ric2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was an absolute joy to spend time in Muriel's Painters Cabin. It is close to the centre of Totnes, yet you feel like you're in the countryside, tucked away in her garden. It is very comfortable and well-designed both in terms of functionality (storage, hooks in useful places, a shower cubicle you can move in, good ventilation, a sturdy table that flips out) and how it feels as a space (restful, beautiful, lovingly put together). I had everything I needed for a short stay and Muriel made me feel so welcome, with little touches like fresh-made bread, butter and preserves. I heartily, heartily recommend!

Bright, clean and comtemporary. Overlooking Dartmoor and the river Dart. King size double bed in an exceptionally large room with desk, chairs, storage and a comfortable sofa. Wifi included. Situated in a very quiet location just a 15 minute river walk into town. Renowned for its cafes, shops and a fantastic atmosphere. 5 minute drive to Totnes centre. 30 min drive to stunning beaches and coast path walks. 30 min drive to Dartmoor. is also a second large bedroom available.
My home is a bright fresh contemporary house in a very fortunate situation up on a hill right beside the River Dart in Totnes and with views of Dartmoor and Haytor and the beautiful sunsets over the Moor. Its hill side situation also means that the sun shines fully onto it from late morning until evening. It's totally quiet with no traffic noise at all which makes it a very restful retreat space. You'll have easy access to the vibrant atmosphere of Totnes and all the wonderful cafes and entertainment. You can walk to the town centre in 20 minutes. There are many local walks along the river- To Sharpham Estate in one direction and to Dartington Hall in the other. At Dartington Hall you can find the most beautiful gardens, an amazing cafe, the barn fringe cinema as well as a vast selection of music, dance and workshops. It's fantastic! Totnes is also the original transition town and the dedicated members of TTT (Transition Town Totnes) have enhanced the stunning beauty of the town by planting a lot of nut trees and planters for people to help themselves to salad, strawberries and raspberries ! TTT also offers films and talks to inform people of healthy attitudes to Nature and the environment . Totnes is close to the coast and Dartmoor, both offering wild and tranquil activities. Stunning walks and cafes at the coast and breathtaking views and characterful pubs with real ales on the moor. For people wanting to come away with family and friends I have one double room available and a king size room also .
Totnes is without a doubt the best town in Devon. The house sits on a hill overlooking the River Dart and Dartmoor.

Our internal one bedroom guest-suite in Dartington provides independent accommodation comprising a small sitting room with integral kitchen facilities, bedroom with kingsize bed and contemporary shower room. It is completely self-contained on the ground floor within our home. It has its own exterior entrance and guests have access to the gardens and parking on our drive. It is within walking distance of local amenities including shops, Dartington Hall, the Cott Inn and Totnes.
The independent guest accommodation is part of the ground floor of our home situated between Dartmoor and the South Devon coast in the beautiful South Hams. There are lovely local walks and a cycle route into Totnes. Dartington Hall is within walking distance and we are a short stroll to the historic Cott Inn which serves good food, and the village shops and local cafes. Ideal for independent individuals or couples seeking a friendly base from which to explore the local area. We do not provide meals but there are simple kitchen facilities ( 2 burner hob, microwave, sink, fridge, kettle, toaster) and we will provide a welcome-pack of basic provisions to help get you started (you can advise us of any preferences before arrival). Wi-fi is available. This is a no smoking house, but guests are welcome to smoke in the garden. Arrival and departure times are flexible, but if we are expecting new guests on the day of your departure we would ask you to leave by 11.00am. The compact nature of the suite restricts the use of cots, pushchairs etc. So although we are very happy to welcome young babies, you might find the limited space a problem for more than a short stay.
Dartington is ideally situated for access to Torbay, Plymouth, Exeter, the coast and Dartmoor. We are 5 minutes by car into Totnes, or a 20-30 minute walk along our lane, or the riverside path. The nearest beach is 7 miles away and there are numerous wonderful beaches within half an hour's drive.

  • An annex to the hosts own home, but surprisingly private and roomier than you'd think. We loved the bathroom! It was great to find all we needed for breakfasts made available, and you can even make simple evening meals in the little kitchen area, though the Cott Inn is just up the road, and worth a visit. Vivien's place is perfectly located for visits to Totnes, Dartington and the coast and moors in this lovely part of Devon.

A warm welcome from us and our cat Harry awaits you in our cosy cottage, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Totnes. A beamed ceiling, a pretty garden along with a comfy bed and good wifi.
Chris and Nina invite you to come and stay in their lovely old terraced cottage in Totnes, in beautiful Devon. The house is in a conservation area and built around 1890. We have a lovely beamed double bedroom available, with a window overlooking the pretty garden with views over to the nearby church. You will have a comfortable bed with four soft pillows with 100% good quality cotton bedding. The room includes a bedside table and lamp, storage. Bottled water and glasses are provided in the room. There’s a good internet signal as well. The bathroom is downstairs on ground floor and we provide towels and shower gels. Please note that the stairs in the house are narrow and steep, we are used to them but a low light will always be kept on to help you find your way! You are welcome to use our kitchen during the day to make teas, coffee and sandwiches. We only ask that you eat in the kitchen or garden rather than the bedroom. You are welcome to use the garden. It’s nice to sit out in the evening when the weather’s warm. You are also welcome to store bikes in the garden where they will be safe. We have a garden studio room where Nina makes beautiful clothes- these are for sale, or can be handmade to order while you’re here. Or even better - learn to make your patterns and sew (£40 for a taster session of approx 2 -3 hours) - and have something special to take with you when you leave!
We are in a quiet enclave of cottages near a churchyard and 5 minutes from the river Dart where evening walks or cycling along the river can be taken. There is an excellent corner shop 1 minutes walk away and a fabulous coffee at the curator cafe is only 5 minutes away!

Please note that the holiday let has no kitchen so it is not possible to cook meals within the let itself but there is a kettle, toaster and a selection of teas available in the room. This cosy property would ideally suit a single person who is either travelling, on holiday or for work purposes in the area.
Our location is just a five minutes drive from Paignton sea front and town, 15 minutes from Torquay and Brixham, 40 minutes from Exeter and about 50 minutes from Plymouth. There are supermarkets and fast food resturants within easy walking distance of the property.

  • Highly recommended, great hosts and location. The only time you will get disappointed by Keith and Lisa's place is when they have no availability!

  • A really nice little spot to stay at. Clean and comfortable, exactly as advertised. Keith and Lisa are super nice people, Keith even drove me to the train station when I was running late!

  • It really is impossible for me to fault anything at this lovely place. Friendly owners, completely fuss-free check-in and out and lovely touches like a large bottle of water. It was a warm day but despite this and the several thunderstorms overnight, I slept really well in the room which stayed pleasantly cool. Comfortable good quality bed was most appreciated and the bathroom is modern, clean and the shower nice and powerful!
