  • This is a spacious home, lovely feeling about the place. The two bathrooms was an added benefit with seven of us staying here. The parking could be a problem but there is a parking space at the back of the house which was useful especially as we had two cars.

  • Wonderfully stylish house on the hills of Torquay. Great value for money as can sleep 7 comfortably. Would recommend you find how to park behind the house as very hard to find parking in the evening. House is over 3 floors with large extended living area on ground floor. Beautiful bathrooms and comfortable beds Would definitely recommend.

  • We had a comfortable two nights stay at Ade’s house for my mum’s funeral. Ade replied quickly to my queries and left the hall light on for when we arrived.

  • Jasmine cottage is situated in a quiet but central area of a lovely Devon village. We found the cottage in a converted barn warm and welcoming on arrival. Very well designed layout with an open plan living dining kitchen area and 2 ensuite bedrooms arranged on each side. The cottage was spotless, beds comfortable and linens and towels high quality. Lovely walks around the village and Church inn does an amazing Sunday roast. Really recommend its location.

  • The cottage was a great place for relaxing at February half term and exploring Paignton and Brixham. Just enough for us 2 adults and 11 year old and 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Shower was great and whole house was warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and we had breakfast at home. 2 pubs within walking distance. Good choice of board games our son enjoyed. Internet connection was good. I’m sure in the summer with more crowd the narrow roads could be a problem. Also parking is tight so smaller car would be better. Would recommend Rockfish in Brixham for seafood. All in all it was a great experience

  • Woodend provided us with an excellent venue in a beautiful location for our large family get together (3 generations, consisting of 8 adults and 7 children). The generously proportioned rooms gave plenty of space to spread out indoors, and there was an excellent, large, well-equipped kitchen. Despite the weather and time of year (February) the hot tub and pool were enjoyed most mornings by all. We would have no hesitation in returning for another family celebration in this beautiful home.

  • This house is amazing!! Very clean, plenty of space and beautifully presented. Adrian was very approachable and quick to respond to me over the stay. The on site managers Keith and Lisa were great to have on hand as well. I would definitely recommend this place!

  • What a fantastic place for a get together of families, we had 5 families and the big rooms worked well for us. Pool and hot tub were warm so the kids had a great time splashing about! Great communication from Adrain, no problems.

  • Woodend is the perfect place for a big group gathering of family or friends. The house is very well laid out with large living/reception areas downstairs, a lovely large kitchen that is very well equipped for cooking for groups, and upstairs you have large bedrooms (almost all ensuite). The whole house is tastefully decorated with some lovely personal touches as well. And then outside is the pool and hot tub with spectacular views over the sea. Very close by, Meadfoot Beach is a lovely spot for a stroll, and then within a 5-10 minute drive there are many more beautiful spots and more places to visit than one would ever have time for! I'm already thinking about what excuse I can find to organise another gathering to book Woodend again.

  • This place is absolutely perfect for a group of 10+. The house itself is very impressive with exceptional views. The amenities are top class with a very impressive kitchen which makes cooking for a large group straightforward. Communication with Adrian was as good as it could be. We booked over a year in advance for a milestone birthday, and he would respond to every message within the hour. Check in was quick and simple. One review mentions problems with neighbors and excessive noise. There are some notices requesting sensible noise levels and not to play music around the pool. We followed these rules and had no problems at all and it did not inpeed on our enjoyment. Adrian went to great lengths to make our stay enjoyable and is an excellent host. Highly recommend staying her. We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and may we'll make this an annual trip. Thank you Adrian and your team.

The barn is nestled in a small hamlet with a handful of houses and makes the perfect base for a spot of isolation. You will be hard pushed to bump into anyone. Get away and soak up our wonderful view over Devon countryside and the fresh air! We take our guests’ health seriously, ensuring every surface is cleaned with disinfectant and we use high water temperatures for all our washing. We also provide cleaning products, soap and hand wash that you can use during your stay.
Our barn is stocked with essential food items as well as an ‘honesty’ mini bar. We also provide logs for the fire, plenty of magazines, books, games, WiFi and a TV. Most guests don’t even need to see or interact with us, the hosts, but only if they wish to, at a safe distance. Our closest village, Stoke Gabriel, is still open for business with a well-stocked village shop offering free food deliveries and The River Shack on the water front of the River Dart is open for al fresco dining and take-away wood-fired pizza. There are countless green lanes, fields, paths, hills, coastal walks and valleys to traipse over with little human contact. We can provide you with a list of all the spots where you can visit. Our place nestles in the small hamlet of Aish above the village of Stoke Gabriel near Totnes. Sit in front of the wood burning stove and peer out of the double height window to the fields and the river Dart beyond. Some mornings, you’ll see our resident male pheasant strutting his stuff on the garden wall. Occasionally, you may also spot a deer or two in the orchard or fields below. We are environmentally minded and do as much as we can to help lower our impact on the planet. Please see below, and our house manual, for a list of our eco credentials. We have used high quality fixtures and fittings throughout. The king sized bed is super comfy. The sofa bed is brand new and is a pull-out version rather than one of those uncomfortable fold out ones! The kitchen has been made bespoke by a local artisan and comes equipped with everything you might need including a full size oven, microwave and a small hob. As the space is small we can't include absolutely everything but please do ask us if you need anything at all! We also leave essentials such as tea, coffee, milk, olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper ready in the kitchen making it that much easier to relax the minute you arrive. The garden is adjacent to our own but has its own little terrace with a small table and chairs - as well as a BBQ. We have kept the place as uncluttered as possible to allow guests to escape the everyday. However, if there is anything you feel you need please just ask and I'm sure we can provide it! Please note that it is best to have your own transport if staying with us as Aish has no amenities. The closest shop, pubs and restaurants are in the village of Stoke Gabriel which is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk away. We are environmentally minded and do as much as we can to help lower our impact on the planet. Here are a few of the things we do: The barn is run entirely on electricity and therefore uses no fossil fuels. We have a 4kw solar panel system on our roof that helps generate electricity for the barn. For any further electricity we use Bulb Energy, which buys all of its electricity from renewable sources. We use biodegradable bin liners and recycled loo/ kitchen rolls. We use refillable options for cleaning products and washing powders that do not come in plastic. We use entirely organic ingredients in our scones and leave you organic, local milk. The teabags we choose (Clipper) have no plastic in them unlike most teabags. You will find reusable shopping bags for you to use in the kitchen. We provide a water filter so you don't need to buy bottled water. We recycle as much as possible.
A short drive away, nearby Stoke Gabriel is a lively village with a well-stocked village shop, two pubs, a BYO bistro, and a cafe on the waterfront by the Mill Pond. Totnes and all its restaurants, cafes, and shops is also close by car.
  • Just perfect! Lovely touches on arrival (flowers and fresh scones!) Cracking view over the countryside so great for a weekend getaway for us city people. Couldn't recommend more highly! xxx

  • Susanna was a great host and made sure we were ok in the middle of Storm Dennis! The barn was beautiful and we had a lovely time - would highly recommend this

    Charlie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was perfect for us, cosy and stylishly appointed. The view out across the valley was just incredible, and we spent quite a lot of time just gazing at it and watching the buzzards circling over a distant field. Susanna was the most thoughtful host, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, including baby equipment. It made our first holiday with our little one so special, and easy!

    Lucy2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with amazing views, would highly recommend!

Little Barn's in the busy bustling village of Marldon. Set on the border of the South Hams and Torbay, there are two Local pubs, a convenience store a post office and a garage. Offering a feast of activities in all the sorrounding areas. A 15 minuit drive to the unusual market Town of Totnes, 5 min drive to Preston Sands, a foot path on the doorstep to Cockington Village. Lots of lovely walks, beaches and wonderful Devonshire Heratage. This little gem is easy access to anywhere in Devon.
Little Barn is a rustic yet contemporary one-bedroom self-contained maisonette. The Bed is a small double 4/6 and the ceiling in the bedroom has a low beam. So really not suitable for super tall people unless your prepared to duck then you'll be OK . It has a well-equipped kitchen, lounge/diner with a comfy sofa and TV. Slate stairs lead to the double bedroom with gorgeous countryside views and compact an ensuite bathroom. Subtle lighting and stylish design throughout, Little Barn offers a tranquil home from-home vibe. Free WIFI and Parking out side. Little Barn has Low ceilings.
We're kind of bang in the middle of everything in Marldon. There is so much to see and do in South Devon. Walking distance or a short bus ride away you can catch the famous steam train to Agatha Christie's house in Greenway or jump off at the navel Port of Dartmouth with its stunning rickety old Tudor Houses and magnificent Yachts set in the idealic waters of the river Dart. Of corse for those who love hiking Dartmoor is a 20 minuet drive from here and if you are an animal lover you will surely come across its famous wild pony's amongst an abundance of other wild life. Torbay that has its own eco climate is also extremely close where seals , Dolphins and Whales can be spotted. There are caves at Kents Cavern to explore where first Neanderthal mens bones where discovered. Superb restaurants along the sea front and harbour too. Not forgetting South Hams has some of the most outstanding beaches in the world for surfers or bathers a like.

  • We didn’t get to meet Sally as she was away, so we gained entry via the lock box outside the property. However, Sally’s husband stopped by with some bread, milk and butter for us to enjoy with a variety of jams and some honey. The property was well described, quirky, super quaint and very fitting to the local and surrounding areas. Little Barn was also very clean, the bed was super comfortable and overall, it was perfect for a couples weekend away.

Beautifully appointed cottage just a short stroll away from the marina, beach, shops, restaurants and bars.
Character cottage retaining many of the original features including a log burner for colder nights.
  • Lovely house, we found everything we needed. Very considerate leaving us Himalayan salt, Greek olive oil, milk, firewood etc..Spotless clean, beautiful fire place and great location! The house was cold when we arrived but next day was warm and cosy. Only thing I would change it is the size of the double bed, we found it a little bit short for two people. Other than that I would live there permanently:) Thank you again Suzannah, I am very happy I found your place!

    Esperanza2020-03-03T00:00:00Z

  • Suzannah’s place is very quaint with lovely thoughtful touches. Very well equipped kitchen. Beds very comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Close to shops, the Harbour and seafront all just a 10 minute stroll away. Communication was excellent.

  • A lovey little house a srones throw from the centre of town.

    Carolyn2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house/cottage is in a great location for the town. Very comfortable and clean, with everything you could need. When the weather turned it was great to be able to turn up the heating and hide with a film! Suzannah was great about responding and was on hand to help and offer advice, but otherwise lets you get on with it I would absolutely recommend it as a cosy place to stay.

    Ruth2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here with our 3 year old. Had everything we needed and was an easy stroll to the harbour.

    Rob2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the house. It has been decorated beautifully with lovely little touches everywhere, and great mod cons. It's also a fab location. Such a short walk to the harbour to the great bars and restaurants. It's a good location also for other places nearby (Paignton, Totnes, Brixham only short drives). Suzannah was really helpful before our trip and gave us some great pointers of dog friendly beaches and restaurants nearby. That made the whole trip more enjoyable knowing where we could easily go. We loved our time there and hope to come back one day.

    Thea2019-08-31T00:00:00Z

I've recently moved into a large property in the Heart of Paignton Old Town. It an Historic Period Property with an Old Anglo-Saxon Well situated on the ground floor in the Biker bar/lounge. The whole Building is in the process of being renovated and as a consequence I will be targeting travelers on a budget. I mentioned my Biker bar/lounge which has a Private bar and is in the process of being a assembled. Guests are welcome to enjoy a drink at the bar if they choose to do so.
I have 1 single room available at the moment but other rooms will become available as the Renovation progresses. I will have a Twin loft room available very soon.
Paignton has become a destination for bikers for a few years now, having regular bike festivals and bike nights. As I'm a biker myself I am keen to attract travelers on 2 wheels.
  • I enjoyed in Glen's place. So stylish place in the centre of Paignton. I felt little bit like to be back in 19 century, because the building it's quite historical and room is so cosy. My experience couldn't have been better.

    Tomáš2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Glen is a great guy. Really helpful and nice. Definitely will recommend.

    Tom2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Good person and perfect accommodation with everything you need, very good value for money, nice place near the center of Paignton and the beach. Totally recommended, the second time I stay at home and very well both times.

    Kevin2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed staying with Glen! He is a friendly person, very flexible and provided everything I needed for the stay. The experience in the kitchen where a local radio plays and has a free bird was nice, I felt comfortable to use the utensils and there was some food available if you felt hungry out of time.

    Tula2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Simple and very clean accommodation, all that I needed. The place is going to be perfect for like minded people and has lots of potential when everything is finished.

Quiet room in a friendly house. Setup as a Single or twin. Ideal for student nurses and doctors at Torbay District Hospital. It is close enough to walk to the hospital as parking is limited in the surrounding streets. We like accommodating students especially those wanting a recurring mid week booking or for short stays. Also we offer some discount on longer stay to hospital staff. We are a clean quiet household as one party works shifts, we have two outdoor Rabbits that live in the back garden.
Our attic is a quiet and spacious room, made as a cosy single or twin for guests. It has great light from the Velux window with a sky view. The beds are super comfy, there is a table and chairs. In the room is a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The room is situated upstairs away from other bedrooms all downstairs.
There is a sea peep from a veranda in the garden and certainly from the driveway you can view the Torquay harbour and Big wheel in season. We have shops less than 5 mins walk and a very good Fish and Chips shop.
  • Despite I didn't have the expected room, my stay at Matt's house was really nice. I had a nice single room and could spend time in the living room for working. The house is very comfortable and cosy. Matt and Zoé are very friendly people and we chated a lot together. Matt took me to Cockington for a walk. I enjoyed my stay there!

It was a warm day but despite this and the several thunderstorms overnight, I slept really well in the room which stayed pleasantly cool. Comfortable good quality bed was most appreciated and the bathroom is modern, clean and the shower nice and powerful!

Our victorian house is situated on a quiet road, a short walk from the beach, and local pubs, and restaurants. We are 5 minutes walk from Torre Station....and there is ample parking outside or nearby. We are a 10 minute walk from the seafront and a 15 minute walk to the town centre. We offer room only in our house, but a complimentary Breakfast is offered in our Baguette Bar which is 5 minutes walk away, we also do not offer use of our kitchen and cooking facilities, we can cater for all needs..
our room is in a nice Victorian house, to the rear overlooking our quaint garden. it is simply decorated, with a TV, WiFi, and, tea and coffee facilities, just a few steps away from our bathroom.
our house is situated in a quiet backwater, with adequate on road parking
  • Can't fault the hosts at all, nice little touch putting hot drinks making facilities in the room and given a wifi code and a door key upon arrival.

Beautiful double room in Torquay with good quality bedding & large bathsheets. The room is in our family home, which is about a 10 minute walk from Torbay Hospital and Torre train station. We're around 20 minutes from the town centre and seafront, and close to many of the beautiful beaches in the area. You will have sole use of the bathroom, which is modern, with a good shower and bath. Breakfast of cereal, fruit, yogurt, hot drinks, bread & crumpets etc
The room is comfortable and peaceful, overlooking our lovely garden, with a sea view when the trees aren't in leaf. Towels, breakfast, tea/coffee and bathroom essentials are provided. There is also a table that can be extended for use as a workdesk. In the kitchen, there's a kettle, microwave and toaster available for guest use, and guests are welcome to store items in the fridge. Laundry can be done for a small fee and we have an iron and ironing board that can be used. There's ample parking on the road outside our house. The room is down one flight of stairs and the garden is accessed down another flight of stairs, so this room wouldn't be suitable for someone with mobility issues.
We live in a beautiful avenue, with views of the sea in one direction, and Dartmoor to the other. We have lots of bird life in our garden from blackbirds to bullfinches!
  • Had a very pleasant stay. Zara is a great host; warm, welcoming and very accommodating. She has some beautiful pets (if you’re an animal lover). The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast provided was great to get you started for the day. Would highly recommend!

  • A wonderful house and garden and warm-hearted hosts! The best place where we have stayed on our journey so far!

    Jaap2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is clearly a home away from home! I had a really good time at Zara's place. She gave me a very warm welcome, even though I arrived kind of late. The room is light and spacy. Equipped with a big comfortable bed, the room provides everything you need to enjoy your time in Torquay. I even had a small bathroom to myself and Zara provided everything needed for a good breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay and the warm atmosphere in Zara's house. Thank you again for hosting me and, especially, for the ride to the train station! ***** Five stars! *****

  • If you’re looking for something in this area in a cottage style don’t bother looking at any other listing- book with Tina! Amazing value for a lovely, well designed space with all the mod cons you need. Lovely design to the space too and so happy they were able to accommodate my dog and put up a travel cot for my daughter. Thank you!

    Matthew2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Good hospitality is absolutely priceless and that's exactly what I received at Jan's place, where they both have a lot of time for their guests. Spent most of the evening chatting outside in the lovely garden listening to the sounds of Paignton Zoo. Small touches like chilled water provided in the room on a hot day didn't go unnoticed either! Would definitely stay again :)
