  • Had a great stay at this charming farmhouse. Unfortunately we had to return home early as would have loved to stay longer. The place was easy to find and the cottage itself was decorated well, had everything you needed and was spotlessly clean. Would def like to return.

  • I bought this trip for my parents. They really enjoyed their visit. Tina was quick with her responses and easy to contact. My parents had a minor issue with the heating but all was resolved and no problems. Thank you Tina, my parents had a lovely time.

  • Jasmine cottage is situated in a quiet but central area of a lovely Devon village. We found the cottage in a converted barn warm and welcoming on arrival. Very well designed layout with an open plan living dining kitchen area and 2 ensuite bedrooms arranged on each side. The cottage was spotless, beds comfortable and linens and towels high quality. Lovely walks around the village and Church inn does an amazing Sunday roast. Really recommend its location.

  • The cottage was a great place for relaxing at February half term and exploring Paignton and Brixham. Just enough for us 2 adults and 11 year old and 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Shower was great and whole house was warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and we had breakfast at home. 2 pubs within walking distance. Good choice of board games our son enjoyed. Internet connection was good. I’m sure in the summer with more crowd the narrow roads could be a problem. Also parking is tight so smaller car would be better. Would recommend Rockfish in Brixham for seafood. All in all it was a great experience

  • Second time we have stayed and loved the freedom of this house, thank you again

    Kev2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Property was quirky place split over 3 levels, ground being living accommodation and upper floors bedrooms/bathrooms. Adequate catering utensils and facilities. Space suited our group of 7 people. Parking could have been an issue as street was often full but we were ok, having to park in another street one time but not far. Clean and tidy. Great communication from host with nothing too much trouble.

Recently featured on ‘The Culture Trip’ blog as one of the ‘TOP TEN FAIRYTALE CASTLES’ to stay in on Airbnb! Check out the Culture Trip website to read their amazing review on our home. Our home is a stunning section of a Victorian mansion house. With huge entertaining spaces and magnificent views out to sea. Enjoy time in luxurious surroundings in a beautiful part of the country. contact me for special deals as prices change depending on the time of the year. High season exceptions apply.
PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT 2 NIGHT BOOKINGS DURING HIGH SEASON, FROM JULY-SEPTEMBER. Totally unique 3 storey section of grand mansion with large enclosed gardens Lots of original features Open fire in the sitting room 2 large flat screen TVs bedrooms spread over three floors for extra privacy ideal for families and couples off road parking spaces lots of local activities: golf courses, fishing, walking, seaside activities etc. AMAZING views Famous former residents; Vivien Leigh & Laurence Olivier. recently renovated with new heating system & roof. Decorated for Christmas Large garden Views Full use of section of house Original roll top bath Close to the sea and Dartmoor Quaint English seaside town Lots of excellent restaurants Traditional pubs Easy access to Exeter and Plymouth Excellent public transport; we have a mainline railway station less than 1/2 mile down the road and there are also excellent bus links. Passenger ferry across to the fishing village of Shaldon (the oldest ferry route in the British Isles). MINIMUM OF 3 NIGHT STAY. All damage must be paid for. Any extra cleaning charges will also be taken from deposit. Double doors lead out to a fenced off area of a large garden. Lots of local shops in Teignmouth town along with pubs and restaurants and takeaways. There is a Waitrose supermarket in town and about 1 mile away is a Morrisons supermarket. Mainline train station is a five minute walk away from the property and there are lots of different bus routes from town that take you to Exeter, Plymouth and Dartmoor. The previous owners of this house had massively neglected it and let it fall into a terrible state of disrepair - it was pretty much derelict when we bought it. It had no staircase, water, electricity or gas supply. The roof let in approximately 40 litres of water every time it rained and the windows were all rotten. Over the last 9 years we have lovingly restored it - replaced the rotten windows; had a new roof (and insulation!) fitted, a new heating system has been installed and we have tastefully decorated with colours representative of the era it was built. We've given the house a little bit of dignity back. It's an on going project though so please take into consideration it's not a modern, double glazed property and you might feel a draught here and there!
We're a five minute walk from the beach and the town centre; as we're located on the top of a hill, we have the most magnificent views out to sea, estuary and the moors. It's an idyllic location and a beautiful house.
  • Absolutely amazing place to spend a few days. I arranged a trip with a few friends and this place is perfect! Really big space to enjoy and chill out in. Loads of lovely touches to the castle, and very comfortable too. Easy to get to and the location is fantastic from the station. Teignmouth itself is a really nice place, some really nice restaurants and pubs around too. The castle was very clean and very spacious, the only real dilemma you’ll have is whether to spend your time in the huge kitchen or living area :). I’ll be back for sure, thanks again Rosalyn. Your hospitality was excellent!

    Sandeep2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rosalyn's Folly is a beautiful place with plenty of books, games, space and a ton of great kitchen equipment - although only 1 chopping board - which can be a problem if you're cooking for 8! Check-in process was great with a key lockbox, and communication with Rosalyn was a breeze. It is important to reiterate to future visitors that this is just one section of the whole castle shown in the photos and despite this having enough room to sleep maybe 9 people, there is only one bathroom (with an extra toilet downstairs - outside). This wasn't a problem for us, however, and it was worth it. The location is fantastic and the view from the kitchen and some bedrooms is incredibly beautiful since you're up a hill and can see the bay. It's located in a residential area, surrounded by houses and you can easily walk in to town. Overall, a great stay in a cool castle!

  • Woodend provided us with an excellent venue in a beautiful location for our large family get together (3 generations, consisting of 8 adults and 7 children). The generously proportioned rooms gave plenty of space to spread out indoors, and there was an excellent, large, well-equipped kitchen. Despite the weather and time of year (February) the hot tub and pool were enjoyed most mornings by all. We would have no hesitation in returning for another family celebration in this beautiful home.

  • This house is amazing!! Very clean, plenty of space and beautifully presented. Adrian was very approachable and quick to respond to me over the stay. The on site managers Keith and Lisa were great to have on hand as well. I would definitely recommend this place!

  • What a fantastic place for a get together of families, we had 5 families and the big rooms worked well for us. Pool and hot tub were warm so the kids had a great time splashing about! Great communication from Adrain, no problems.

  • Woodend is the perfect place for a big group gathering of family or friends. The house is very well laid out with large living/reception areas downstairs, a lovely large kitchen that is very well equipped for cooking for groups, and upstairs you have large bedrooms (almost all ensuite). The whole house is tastefully decorated with some lovely personal touches as well. And then outside is the pool and hot tub with spectacular views over the sea. Very close by, Meadfoot Beach is a lovely spot for a stroll, and then within a 5-10 minute drive there are many more beautiful spots and more places to visit than one would ever have time for! I'm already thinking about what excuse I can find to organise another gathering to book Woodend again.

  • This place is absolutely perfect for a group of 10+. The house itself is very impressive with exceptional views. The amenities are top class with a very impressive kitchen which makes cooking for a large group straightforward. Communication with Adrian was as good as it could be. We booked over a year in advance for a milestone birthday, and he would respond to every message within the hour. Check in was quick and simple. One review mentions problems with neighbors and excessive noise. There are some notices requesting sensible noise levels and not to play music around the pool. We followed these rules and had no problems at all and it did not inpeed on our enjoyment. Adrian went to great lengths to make our stay enjoyable and is an excellent host. Highly recommend staying her. We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and may we'll make this an annual trip. Thank you Adrian and your team.

I've recently moved into a large property in the Heart of Paignton Old Town. It an Historic Period Property with an Old Anglo-Saxon Well situated on the ground floor in the Biker bar/lounge. The whole Building is in the process of being renovated and as a consequence I will be targeting travelers on a budget. I mentioned my Biker bar/lounge which has a Private bar and is in the process of being a assembled. Guests are welcome to enjoy a drink at the bar if they choose to do so.
I have 1 single room available at the moment but other rooms will become available as the Renovation progresses. I will have a Twin loft room available very soon.
Paignton has become a destination for bikers for a few years now, having regular bike festivals and bike nights. As I'm a biker myself I am keen to attract travelers on 2 wheels.
  • I enjoyed in Glen's place. So stylish place in the centre of Paignton. I felt little bit like to be back in 19 century, because the building it's quite historical and room is so cosy. My experience couldn't have been better.

The experience in the kitchen where a local radio plays and has a free bird was nice, I felt comfortable to use the utensils and there was some food available if you felt hungry out of time.

    Tula2019-11-22T00:00:00Z

  • Dave was very polite and accommodating at his home. His check in instructions were clear and concise with no hassles. He was not around for the check in however he did get in touch to see that everything was ok. The place is a 20 minute walk into the town downhill. Obviously the walk back is uphill and takes a little longer. He gave plenty of advice on where to go. The room was very clean with a lovely view. The kitchen was very clean and all facilities in there were available to use. He helped with my collection of a parcel that I had ordered off the Internet. If I am in the area again and Dave is happy I will definitely stay here. Thank you very much. Regards Paul

  • Louise was a friendly and brilliant host. I arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning and was looked after much better than I was expecting for a quick stop over. The room has lots of lovely touches - tea, mini toiletries etc and was sparkly clean. I had access to my own bathroom which I was able to have a bubble bath in with lovely toiletries provided - amazing after a long day. Louise even whipped up delicious avacado and eggs in the morning before I set off. I couldn't recommend more highly. It turns out Louise is a reflexology practitioner - revealed by the associated books on the room's book shelves. I was gutted I wasn't staying long enough to see if she could squeeze me in!

  • Very nice, clean, quiet, and central place, and lovely people! Thank you, Louise, for the kindness of giving supper when I arrived late and could not find a nearby place to eat at as it was Sunday night. The cooked English breakfast was delicious. Offering a selection of Continental and Cooked breakfasts was also very kind and considerate of the host. Thank you.

The bedroom was simple, comfortable bed, TV and quiet. Sarah is knowledgable about the area and provided us with plenty of info’. The location on the edge of Dartmoor and a 10 minute walk to the bustling town of Ashburton is perfect for exploring the area. We felt very much at home here and would recommend to anyone who wants outstanding value, with a good breakfast and the feeling of ‘home away from home’. Many thanks for our oasis of tranquility. Look forward to another visit!

  • 'Friendly place' lives up to its name in that Sarah was very flexible and accommodating with our late evening arrival, needs and generally made us feel welcome in her cosy home. Location is ideal being a 10 minute walk from Ashburton town centre and on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Great value compared with the more expensive options within the national park. Would stay again.

  • Lovely house, a bit hard to find but the communication was perfect and we felt very welcomed by Sarah. Fully equipped house with a range of beautiful details in a slightly alternative style. The Garden must be a dream in summer! Great base location to explore the Dartmoor, we will definitely come back!

    Lars2018-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah‘s place is exactly what the listing says, a very friendly place, sarah gave us lots of useful local tips and we enjoyed very nice conversations, we would come back anytime.

    Kristina2018-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is the most welcoming and delightful host you could ever wish for. It was a sheer delight to stay at her very charming home. We found the location was perfect for visiting family in Plymouth, but far enough away to be charmed by the wonderful village of Ashburton, offering an array of bespoke gift, grosery and antique shops. Interestingly, the local community has also recently turned an old church into an art centre which features a diverse range of events which is well worth a visit. Not to mention a great selection of cafes and pubs. You can’t help but feel relaxed staying here. Thank you Sarah.

  • What a beautiful little gem. Hidden down some narrow tracks but worth the travel this little retreat is just that. A little haven from the world a place where you can just relax with everything you will need ready and waiting. The supply of fresh breakfast items to create a breakfast as you would like is a nice touch the fresh eggs that has just been laid by the chickens are delicious and the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts is a welcoming touch. The establishment is quirky decorated to a neutral taste and the bed comfy with clever use of space to create such a delightful place. will definitely be returning.

  • The Granary is a wonderful homely self contained place to stay. It has a great little kitchen area and comfortable living space. I slept well in the cosy, restful bedroom. There was a great selection of breakfast foods including cereal, bacon, tomatoes, milk, lots of fresh eggs (laid by Linda and Tim’s chickens) and bread. I couldn’t have met two more kind, lovely people, and their friends and neighbours, who have helped me, following get my car stuck down a lane!. I am very grateful for the generosity and kindness I have been shown this week. It is a fab place to spend time away from the hubbub of daily living (the phone signal and WiFi isn’t too great) and take a proper break. Rest and enjoy the beautiful country side. Thank you Tim, Linda and your your wonderful neighbours.

    Sue2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Jones’ were so hospitable - catering to our vegetarian diet for breakfast (and lack of preparation). The granary cottage was beautiful, cosy and clean. They even gave us a lift to the train station in the morning - despite all the b***** pot holes!! Will definitely be returning :).

    Bronte2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Linda's flat was absolutely perfect. It was comfy, warm and cosy with so many little extras that we weren't expecting. We were severly delayed checking in due to storm Dennis and Tim was still friendly and welcoming at 10.30pm. Giving us a full show around the flat and making sure we were settled in. They provide everything you could possibly need and a great range of food for breakfast, including eggs from their chickens! Fab stay!

    Ren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great local experience. The location is very rural, set down country roads. The little apartment is quaint and clean. The host supplied ingredients for breakfast, including eggs from their own chickens. Highly recommended.

  • Everything about this place is just perfect. We were treated to a very warm and personal welcome from the host Tim, who showed us around the apartment and settled us in. This was the best stocked place we have ever stayed in, it was full of thoughtful touches and wonderful breakfast supplies.

Detached one bedroom (single) holiday let. A converted garage set within the garden area of our property. The garage is made up of two rooms, a bedroom and a modern shower room. The property is double glazed with sliding patio doors, heating, television and free wi-fi. You have views and use of the pleasant mediterranean style garden and there is also a washing machine and tumble dryer for you to use. Ideal for single person visiting the area for either work or pleasure.
We live in the main bungalow in front of the let and are always on hand to help if required. When we are home we are happy to interact with our guests (if they wish) to keep them company and help them to get the most of their visit to Torbay and our Garden Room guests are usually welcome to socialise with us in the house or garden whenever we are free. Please note that the holiday let has no kitchen so it is not possible to cook meals within the let itself but there is a kettle, toaster and a selection of teas available in the room. This cosy property would ideally suit a single person who is either travelling, on holiday or for work purposes in the area.
Our location is just a five minutes drive from Paignton sea front and town, 15 minutes from Torquay and Brixham, 40 minutes from Exeter and about 50 minutes from Plymouth. There are supermarkets and fast food resturants within easy walking distance of the property.

  • A really nice little spot to stay at. Clean and comfortable, exactly as advertised. Keith and Lisa are super nice people, Keith even drove me to the train station when I was running late!

  • It really is impossible for me to fault anything at this lovely place. Friendly owners, completely fuss-free check-in and out and lovely touches like a large bottle of water. It was a warm day but despite this and the several thunderstorms overnight, I slept really well in the room which stayed pleasantly cool. Comfortable good quality bed was most appreciated and the bathroom is modern, clean and the shower nice and powerful!

    Danny2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Keith and Lisa are super friendly, great hosts highly recommend. Will definitely stay again. Thank you for the extra tea, milk and fresh towels.

Our victorian house is situated on a quiet road, a short walk from the beach, and local pubs, and restaurants. We are 5 minutes walk from Torre Station....and there is ample parking outside or nearby. We are a 10 minute walk from the seafront and a 15 minute walk to the town centre. We offer room only in our house, but a complimentary Breakfast is offered in our Baguette Bar which is 5 minutes walk away, we also do not offer use of our kitchen and cooking facilities, we can cater for all needs..
Our twin bedded room is situated in the rear of the house, overlooking our garden. The room has a tv, tea and coffee, it is very comfortable, and right next to the bathroom, we have broadband.(apparently superfast...dont hold me to that!!) Clean fresh towels, and a hot shower or bath. You will have your own key, and free access to come and go as you please. Our house is old and full of character, and our trusty old dog Tilly, will greet you with a waggy tail!!!
we live in a quiet lane, yet close to the town and seafront, so we are ideal for most needs, we have pubs and restaurants within a short walk. There is ample parking outside our house or nearby.

  • It was a clean and spacious house, located near the train station. Enjoyed my stay.

    Sanjay2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend at Simon & Rosie's place and were made to feel very welcome. Their home is in a perfect location to visit this part of Devon and is close to shops, bus routes, train station for ease of getting around. There is free parking on the road outside their house. They have adorable dogs & a cat that seemingly likes to sit outside the front door guarding the house, keeping an eye on who's coming and going :0) The room was a cosy size, with ample storage and tea & coffee facilities. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the shared bathroom was right next door, though it felt like we had it to ourselves as we didn't bump into anyone. Everything was nice and clean as you would expect. Simon & Rosie are extremely accommodating and they were easy to get in contact with should you need anything. We visited their baguette bar for Sunday breakfast, which was a nice touch. Just note that this is a takeaway service, not a cafe, but is great to set you up for your day ahead. They even offer free coffee to people who take along their own reusable cup (how good is that to encourage people to help save the environment?) All in all, you can't go wrong with booking a stay here. Would definitely stay again if I was visiting Torquay in the near future.

  • I had a wonderful stay at Simon and Rosie’s. It is a lively family home, but at the same time with all the privacy you may need. Perfectly located within a walking distance from the beach and town centre. Simon was very kind to meet and check me in although I arrived a few hours early. And breakfast every morning at their baguette bar was a very thoughtful compliment indeed!

  • I didn't end up staying at Dave's place due to a change in work schedule but Dave was very accommodating with my request for unsociable check in times due to shift work and I wouldn't hesitate to book with him again.

    Megan2019-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dave has a lovely home and he is very welcoming. The house is clean and the facilities are pretty much what I needed for a prolonged stay in the area (working). Dave was rarely there (there were 2 other guests) so the whole house was available, including kitchen and a downstairs lounge area (apart from the other guests rooms), which made for a relaxing stay. When I did bump into Dave and his partner in the house it was usually in the kitchen when he was cooking one of his fabulous dishes and it was always a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and they were happy to chat and seemed genuinely interested in what I was doing in the area. The room was spotlessly clean, decent size, and there was spare bedlinen and towels. in spite of 3 guests, there was never any hassle accessing bathrooms at any time. overall an enjoyable 6 week stay. highly recommended for both short and long stay guests.

I have a mid twentieth century house with large windows, full of light. It's on the edge of Totnes, with the sound of sheep grazing and with wonderful views over Totnes itself and on to Dartmoor. There are wonderful sunsets to be seen and you can sit on the bench outside to admire them from the garden. I am into healthy nutrition and aim to provide my guests with delicious but healthy food. I'm also able to give plenty of suggestions for places to go and things to do in and around the area.
My house has a warm, welcoming, homely vibe, bringing into focus its architectural origins and making the most of them. It has an airy feel, being near the top of the hill with wonderful wide views of the sky and surrounding area.
Bridgetown is a quiet area and my house is on the edge of it, close to open countryside. Totnes is an amazing and unique town - very pretty and with much to offer being close to both Dartmoor and the sea.
  • Very last minute booking!, Sally was warm and very friendly and helpful and made me feel at home, the room was very clean as was the whole house enjoyed my stay alot and in a ideal location aswell

  • Quiet space with a view over Totnes, very friendly host and good breakfast . To be recommended !

    Matthias2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great host in a great location. Weather was wet, (obviously not Sally's doing) but view still good in a moody dark way. Pleasant small town to spend the afternoon in.

    Ian2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed an excellent stay at Sally's place. Very clean, quiet and comfortable space, and a great base for exploring Totnes and South Devon. Sally was friendly and welcoming, and we shared some lovely conversations. Would wholeheartedly recommend!

    Matt2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • As mentioned In Sally’s description, this is on the far edge of town at the top of the hill, but does offer a quiet and safe base to stay with good views of Totnes Castle and church. A good night sleep was had with a comfy bed and a nice touch of fresh lavender placed in the room. Very good value for money, and we left Totnes having made a lovely new friend.

Beautiful romantic dual aspect living space located in the heart of Devonshire countryside near a Golf course, 3 towns including Torquay and Totnes within ten minutes drive for something more metropolitan or two villages with Pubs and amenities a 25-30min walk away. Panoramic views of fields and moorland can be enjoyed from the comfort of your room or the large garden full of wildlife and flowers. Guests left largely to their own devices but advice and local information is always available.
Two rooms are available one a suite with a king size double bed dressing room and bathroom the other a king size double bed that can be converted to two singles
There is a lovely Golf course, 2 or 3 good Pubs and a nice coffee shop in the nearest Village. The beautiful South Devon coast is a short drive away.
  • Great value place probably better than most boutique hotels. A real gem. Hosts we’re both helpful and also left us to our own devices. A must stay

  • Another wonderful night sleep in this lovely rural location.

    Danny2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed staying at at Jackie and Graham’s lovely house. They were welcoming and friendly, and our accommodation was really nice. We had a spacious and beautifully decorated bedroom area and en-suite bathroom, and the shower was particularly good as well. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get up out of! The views from the windows were just lovely, including a garden full of birds- several that you’d expect to recognise, but then others such as 20 or so goldfinches. Waking in the morning I felt I wanted to stay for ever! The garden itself was a magical space and we would have liked to have been there longer so we could have spent more time in it.

    Gillian2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay, Jackie is a great host, her place is beautifully finished and the views are beautiful.

    Peter2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Having stayed here before I was delighted that the comfiness of the bed, the warm welcome and lovely room were as consistent and excellent as I remember! I'll be back!

    Danny2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my girlfriend needed a quick stop in Devon and this room provided the perfect space. The bed is one of the comfiest we've slept in and the selections of tea were a really nice touch. Shame we couldn't stay for another night!
