Come stay with Vinh & Stuart (Awarded one of Australia's top hosts by Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky & key shareholder Ashton Kutcher. We're Sydney's #1 reviewed hosts too). Find out why we've been positively reviewed 500+ times. Please read our listing first (hint hint) We do not accept reservations from people without a verified profile. And please do not make a reservation request before we have exchanged messages. We're keen to chat 1st and make sure we can offer you a "Five Star Stay"
Please say hello and message us *BEFORE* you make your reservation request... It'll help speed things up, and smooth things out... Please read our listing. It will make getting a confirmed reservation so much easier :) See below (hint hint) -- G'Day from Vinh & Stuart in Sydney! Thanks for coming to check out our listing :) We have another btw... http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/73639 if this one is unavailable "Sydney City Home with Harbour Views"; our spare room in the attic. We're pretty relaxed hosts, and as Sydney's #1 hosts we play an active part in the Airbnb community, but we fully appreciate staying with someone else, in their home home, is not for every-one. We get it, our place isn't for everyone. So we won't be offended if you leave this listing (there's plenty of other great Airbnb listings to choose from that don't offer a hosted experience). As we were among the first Airbnb'ers in Australia (travellers + hosts) we've developed quite an extensive profile based on all the guest questions we've answered over the years. Reading through the description to the end (hint hint), and the "House Rules", will mean you'll find all the important information you need to make your Sydney Airbnb stay a fantastic one. Feel free to send us a message with any question you have about us, our home, Pyrmont, Sydney, or Airbnb... We'd love to hear from you! :D This is not a business, or a hotel. We're casual Airbnb hosts, not hoteliers. This is our family home. We live here. You are not be renting an empty apartment. This is not a 'sub-let'. And we do not have a team of porters waiting to take your bags any time of the day or night. Our "check in" / "arrival time" / "bag drop" is all the same thing. Your room: * Private bedroom (with a lockable door) * Queen size bed * All linen, pillows, blankets, towels, etc, provided too * Fully air-conditioned * Wifi Light Breakfast (cereals, fruits, toasts) included: * Breakfasty things and tasty treats * Seasonal Fruits * Bread for toasting * Total access to "the Seinfeld cupboard" * All the Vegemite you can handle * Teas & coffees - We're espresso fiends, please don't blame us if you leave our place fully wired, or addicted to single origin ;p Guest Bathroom (shared): * Shower with instant (full pressure) hot water * Hair-dryer * Towels provided Your Sydney Home: * Amazing views of the Sydney Harbour, White Bay, and Glebe Island * Three level terrace house * Only 2 minutes walk from the centre of Pyrmont * Just minutes walk from everything Sydney offers * Close to the Airport & all public transport * Quiet street * Outdoor deck with seating and water views * Fully air-conditioned * Free wifi throughout the entire house Couple of things you do need to know before you book: --> STEEP STAIRS - Because the house is on three levels, and the stairs are steep, we wouldn't recommend the property for people who like to travel with lots of luggage, people with any mobility issues, or for children. --> TALK WITH US FIRST - Please send us a message & have a chat with us BEFORE you make your reservation request --> THE AVAILABILITY CALENDAR IS ACCURATE - Please only make a reservation request for the exact (and complete) dates that you require. You can use the calendar on our listing to see our availability month by month. If the dates you require are not showing as available on that calendar, it's because we're booked for those dates... Sorry :( --> AGREE ARRIVAL TIMES BEFORE YOU MAKE A RESERVATION REQUEST - Guest arrival time is 6pm. Please see the "Other Things to Note" for more information about arrival times / check in / bag drop details, etc. Message us first about your intended arrival time BEFORE you make a reservation request. --> HAVE A VERIFIED PROFILE - We're much more likely to accept requests from Airbnb'ers with profiles, friends, & recommendations, etc. In the same way you feel more comfortable knowing more about the people you're staying with, we do too. And a profile pic of a cat doesn't really cut it either... PLEASE ASK - Please just send us a message if you've any questions about staying with us, or visiting Sydney. FIVE STAR STAY - Now here's the most important bit: ** Please use the code words; "Five Star Stay" when you message us about your reservation - Just drop those words into your message to us. It lets us know you've read this information and are ready for a fantastic five star hosted experience with us in our Sydney City home. Can't wait to meet you! cheers, Vinh & Stuart PS Well done for reading this far! Most people don't :( Sorry, this is so long, but we know we've answered all your questions now. And remember to use the code words; "Five Star Stay" in your message.
Pyrmont is an inner-city village of Sydney, only about 2kms from the Sydney CBD (Central Business District) / Core, right next door to Darling Harbour and Chinatown. https://www.airbnb.com.au/locations/sydney/pyrmont Pyrmont has a relaxed community feel with an inner city vibe. Pyrmont is only about 2kms (10 - 15 mins walk) from the centre of Sydney with an extensive range of local restaurants, wine bars, and pubs. There's some seriously good baristas and cafes right close to our home (Go and say hi to Damien & Tim at Bar Zini - it's one of our local faves). There's five star fine dining right through to greasy-spoon takeaways with some of Australia's finest dining restaurants within easy reach. * Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay * Exhibition and Convention Centres * Sydney Fish Markets * Pyrama Point Park * Jones Bay Wharf * The Star (Casino) with Food Halls, Bars, and the Lyric Theatre * Powerhouse Museum * National Maritime Museum Also (back on the food - notice a theme?): * Two grocery / supermarkets within an easy walk * Also a great wine-merchant (and craft beers) on the end of our street * Fantastic deli Signorelli Gastronomia round the corner * Food stores, grocery, and supermarkets * Pyrmont Growers Market 1st Saturday monthly; farm direct & artisan foodies. Pyrmont was once a thriving industrial waterfront / working port area with ship-building, factories and wool-stores. Over the last decade there's been a considerable influx of new residents and commercial / residential development that has transformed the area into a trendy mix of inner city residents and commercial HQs. For example Goo gle has their Sydney office, the "Goo gleplex" just down the road, as is Fairfax Media, NOKIA, and the Seven Network (TV). Media Production houses, boutique cable TV channels, etc. The UTS (University of Technology) campus, the ABC's Ultimo headquarters (Australia's National Broadcaster), the Sydney Convention Centre, and the Sydney Entertainment Centre, are all within walking distance. Sydney University is about 20 minutes walk away (only 10 mins in a cab or bus). Eat, drink, and be merry: Being ex-restaurateurs we'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction for a great meal in Sydney. And there's plenty on tap too. You can't walk more than a block in any direction without walking into the front bar of a local pub, or a wine bar, or a great cafe, or restaurant… To give you an idea, there's 9 of Sydney's top 10 restaurants within easy walking distance: * Rockpool * Momofuku Seiobo * Quay * Sepia * Est * Rockpool Bar & Grill * Tetsuya's * Bentley * The Bridge Room And there's plenty of local colour and great tastes whatever your price point or culinary favourite. With a full range of cafes and restaurants in between, right through to the cheap & cheerful Harry's Cafe de Wheels (a late night Sydney institution), Noodle King, and all the vibrant offerings of Chinatown there's no end of options... Modern Australian, Persian, Goan, Japanese, Indonesian, Malay, Italian, Indian... All at our door Must do's (our local faves) in Pyrmont include: * Bar Zini * Gallon * Blue Eye Dragon * Le Trader * Social Brew * Made in Italy * Vrindavan Indian Restaurant * Hamachi-Ya * Kura * Hannah's Pies * Pioik Bakery * Flying Fish * Signorelli Gastronomia * The Apprentice * Brio * Yuzu * Sokyo * Persian Room * BLACK by Ezzard * Cafe Morso * Little Monk Get the idea? (and we haven't even hit Chinatown yet!) Pyrmont is really close to the Sydney CBD and the other inner city villages: * An easy 10 minute walk into the city centre * Shopping: QVB, TGV, etc… "Lacroix Sweetie Lacroix" * Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House, and BridgeClimb * King Street Wharf * Museum of Contemporary Art * Art Gallery of NSW * Sydney Museum * Hyde Park * Botanic Gardens * Chinatown, Paddy's Markets, and the Chinese Gardens * Surry Hills * Paddington * The historic Rocks area * Kings Cross * CarriageWorks Famers Markets @ Eveleigh every Saturday * Pyrmont Farmer Markets 1st Saturday of the month
  • Had a wonderful time in Sydney and enjoyed the incredible location of Stuart &Vinhs` home. Helpful hosts who provided very explicit information on location ,transport ,restaurants etc. Highlight was meeting another guest from Europe who we have already re-connected with in Melbourne. • Great hospitality in a beautiful and central location in Sydney! Loved Kenji (the cute Pomerian dog). We would highly recommend this accommodation to friends and family.

  • The moment we arrived Vinh made us feel comfortable just like old friends. Vinh and Stuart's cute and cosy little terrace house is in such a terrific location. Public transport is at the doorstep (front or back door) if/when we needed but we walked everywhere because there are so many scenic walks around to explore. Vinh gave us many tips not only where to go, how to get there but also the background/history of some of the places. A walk from Pirrama park to the Fish market is very interesting. Having a nice clean warm place to 'come home' to everyday and being treated like old friends have played such an important part of our memorable weekend. Breakfast was light and easy, coffee was great. Our stay with Vinh and Stuart was our first Airbnb and we are so glad to have shared that experience with them. We have already told friends to stay with Vinh & Stuart when they visit Sydney. We will certainly want to stay with Vinh and Stuart again in the future. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely warm home with us.

  • Staying with Vinh and Stuart was a pleasure. We did not see much of Stuart as he was busy working but Vinh was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our conversations with him. The room was a good size and clean. And the place is in a nice location. Would recommend staying there.

  • We would just like to thank Vinh & Stuart for making our 1st Airbnb such an easy & enjoyable experience, we felt that Vinh went out of his way to give us advise during our holiday and found them both to be extremely kind and genuine hosts who we would not hesitiate to stay with again, thank you again for your making us feel so comfortable in your lovely home. • We stayed here for 5 days in January last year. The house was everything you could ask for when staying in central Sydney! The location for getting around the city was ideal, within walking distance of the city center. The neighborhood is very elegant and close to the Darling Harbour. There you can enjoy a drink and there's a lot of choice from nice restaurants and cosy bars. Vinh & Stuart are wonderful hosts! We talked, we laughed, we drank wine, we had a really good time here! Would stay here again anytime!

    Lisa2011-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to Vinh and Stuart for a lovely short stay. The house was clean and tidy with all the usual amenities, wifi etc. The location was easy to find. There's loads of public transport nearby but I was more than happy walking (appox 30 minutes to the CBD). The casino is just around the corner too! Vinh was very friendly and more than happy to answer any questions I had about the city, restaurants and local area. I'd definitely stay again.

Beautifully stylish, unique and thoughtful design in the most trendy location in Sydney. A short stroll to the hippest cafes, shops and transport to anywhere in the city (5 minutes walk from central station).
Uniquely spacious 1 bedroom flat. The flat is one of two seperate apartments in a heritage listed terrace nestled on a lovely residential street in Surry Hills. Our space flows over the entire bottom floor of the terrace and is accessed by a seperate private door. The space has an open flow between kitchen and lounge areas and the bedroom is tucked in behind a thick (12mm) glass wall with adjustable timber venetian blinds and a block out curtain across the entrance makes for a completely private space. The flat is equipped with anything you might need to make sure your stay is pleasurable; including comfortable leather lounges, a well equipped kitchen with nespresso coffee machine, new dishwasher, ceramic cooktop and stainless appliances (no oven though so if you must have freshly baked muffins for breakfast check the guidebook for some great options at your door step ;-). Wifi is of course provided as well as ample desk space and the TV comes (apart from the free to air channel) with a netflix subscription and access to abc iview and sbs on demand so if you're tired of exploring the city just kick back and relax on the comfortable lounge and catch up with the latest. There is also a tiny, really really small! courtyard out the back that we've earmarked for a herb garden - stay tuned... In a nutshell - the terrace is very well maintained, with renovated interiors but the bones of the terrace are lovely, quirky and old style. Typical Sydney urban living on a leafy quiet street.
Sydney is best known for it's beaches and picture perfect, glistening harbour but in recent years it's starting to give Melbourne a run for it's money when it comes to great bars, amazing food, off centre arts and culture (pronounced as a nasal 'Cultcha'). Surry hills is where it all happens in Sydney - you really can't get closer to the trendy heart of our city than this. Walk to the centre of crown and oxford street central, china town, and the sports venues (SCG, Allianz Stadium and fox studios). We've included some of our favourite neighbourhood haunts as well as some worth checking out further afield. Eating and Drinking in the hood: For great coffee - Rebuen Hills is a roastery and cafe around the corner on albion street. Salary man has AMAZING seasonal food - asian with a modern twist - make sure you book. Tokyo bird Bodega (it's on the list not because WE recommend it but because others will - some people rave about it but we have had some pretty average fare here) Pasta Emilia on Riley is a quaint little italian grocer with THE BEST pasta.. Bills - on crown street is a sydney institution for sunday brunch.. Dimitris Pizza - thin crusted pizza in unassuming surrounds. Our favorite pizza in sydney... Mille Vini nice little italian wine bar and tapas on crown street. For Groceries About Life - on crown street is a good place for organic everything including everything from healthy takeaway to organic shampoo.. Woolworths express on the corner of Elizabeth and foveaux street is good for inner city groceries. Other amenities in the hood: The Library on crown street across from the shannons reserve is a lovely peaceful space. Markets: specialising in handmade, second-hand and recycled goods. The surry hills markets are held on the first Saturday of every month in Shannon Reserve, on the corner of Crown and Collins Streets. Not too further afield in the city: Try out the Spice Alley tucked in a little hidden alley behind george street. The Cooke & Philip swimming pool is a fantastic brutalist concrete truly urban pool. Also don;t miss the White Rabbit Gallery for a touch of very contemporary, very accessible Chinese art housed in a lovely 3 storey rennovated surrounds complete with a tearoom downstairs - great for a rainy day...
  • Noa's place is amazing. So well thought out. Incredibly eclectic in its industrial design with super quirky and interesting design and art pieces. Noa and Keren were great to deal with and the place is in the heart of it all. Simply great!!!

    Rhiannon2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Noa's flat is perfectly located in Surry Hills with a great amount of space for one or two.

  • Great location, cool and funky apartment. Perfect base to explore Sydney.

    Liam2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Reading the reviews before we arrived I was worried that it wouldn’t live up to the hype. I shouldn’t have been concerned, this place is fantastic. It’s like living in an interiors magazine spread for a few days. Max and Noa were very helpful and welcoming, really going out of their way to ensure we were happy guests. Choose this place!

  • It's a lovely and cool designed room, but bugs really destroyed my holiday night.

    Jiayi2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming. They allowed us use of 2x Opal cards for the duration of our stay, and they were flexible with our check-out because of our flight times. The apartment was very clean, homely, and was more spacious than I had expected from the photos. We would 100% recommend people to stay here, and hope to stay here again on our next visit.

    Ashlee2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stylish gem, well situated within Surry Hills, within walking distance to a host of amazing restaurants and bars. The place was stunning, well equipped, and so beautiful, it was hard to leave! Would definitely be back.

    David2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! The apartment is quite centrally located, a quick walk to various Surry Hills cafes and to downtown Sydney. Super clean and comfortable apartment. I had quite a bit of work to do during this trip, so I very much appreciated the reliable wifi, thoughtfully placed lighting, and comfy furniture. Max kindly met me several hours before the usual checkin time as I got into Sydney fairly early, and gave me some great tips for things to see around the neighborhoods. Noa was a wonderful and attentive host! I felt right at home - definitely recommend if you're visiting Sydney!

This place is awesome! A 2 bedroom London style Mansion Block (or NYC style) apartment in the heart of Sydney, located in a quiet street moments from Oxford St, Hyde Park, CBD, Surry Hills & Kings Cross. Newly renovated & 100% beautiful.
Having lived in a couple of mansion blocks in central London, I was so surprised to find that style of accommodation right here in the heart of Sydney. Beyond trying to 'sell' how cool the space is, my honest opinion is that not only is this building truly beautiful, it must be (I think) a truly rare and fortunate find in central Sydney. Lucky me/you! :) The room itself is a double with queen bed. Built in mirrored wardrobes, super comfy bed, window into the shared light well for natural light, all new furniture. There are two bays in the wardrobe and I use one as a linen cupboard. There is stacks of room for your stuff in the other bay :) The bathroom is shared, with shower & bath, vanity, and loads of cupboard space for your personal care products. The living area combines kitchen, lounge and a cupboard laundry with washing machine and dryer. There is also a drying rack. The lounge includes a small Juliet balcony accessed through french doors and looks out onto lush deciduous trees (sadly they loose their leaves in winter).
This is my 5th residence in Sydney since moving here in 2012. Having lived in Pott's Point, Kings Cross, Wooloomooloo and Surry Hills, I can now say that Darlinghurst is my personal favourite location of all these, mostly becuase it's right in the middle of them. Surry is 5 minutes walk, KX and Pott's is 7. And you are in fabulous darlo already ;) Bondi is a 30 minute cycle or bus ride away, and in summer I go most weekends to Tamarama, a smaller beach next to Bondi that I really enjoy. If you like the gym, I recommend Fitness First or City Gym, 5 minutes away. The infamous Oxford St is also 5 minutes away for nightlife, Kings Cross, CBD, Circular Quay, Hyde Park, The Domain and Botanical Gardens, Sydney Opera House, all in super close proximity. This is a great spot for visitors and to live too. Check out Time Out Sydney and Urban Walkabout Sydney for details on all these great neighbourhoods. Just do a web search. The site won't let me give you the links directly.
  • What a great apartment!! Right by Hyde Park in Darlinghurst. Reid is a super host. We felt very welcome in his home. We will be back.

    Rogier2016-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy place with great location :) Reid was excellent host, had great time staying at his place!

  • Staying with Reid was great. He was easy to communicate with and the house was exactly as described. The neighborhood was very perfect for us.

    Maya and Nick2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Reid made me feel lik extremely welcome and I feel we are parting as friends. It has been one of the best airbnb stays I've had to date. Reid's home was well prepared and comfortable for my stay, I couldn't have asked for a more convenient location or generous host. Stanley street has a number of restaurants for you to enjoy. A major parkland is nearby. I would highly recommend Reid.

    Stella2016-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this apartment is amazing. Pretty much everything is within walking distance and for those things slightly further, Museum station is so close that it make these things easily accessible. Although the apartment is in such a great location, it is located on a quiet street so you won't be disturbed by city noises. The apartment itself is very nice. Although it's pretty small, it felt like plenty of space because of the way it's laid out, high ceilings, and very well appointed interior. The bed was also really comfortable. Reid is really friendly and although I didn't get to see him too much, he was always prepared to give useful advice as to places to visit and local knowledge of the nightlife.

    David2015-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is the PERFECT place for anyone visiting Sydney. Reid is awesome - very friendly and helpful. The apartment was easy to find, communication was perfect, and the room is exactly as it is in the photos. Couldn't ask for anything better, thank you for a great week!

    Bec2015-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Super duper welcome. Felt like long lost friends going to visit. Waking up to Moe on us for cuddles was possibly one of the best things. Ever. Loved the artwork, genuine caring/giving/social nature. Location - equally added to the trip. Everything we wanted was in walking distance or a cheap Uber away.

  • We have stayed at Bron's place for three nights. The house is so nice and cozy. It is at a good location which is just 12 mins walk from central station and there are many good cafes and restaurants nearby. Our room is comfortable and well decorated. The house smells so good as surrounded by the smell of the candles that made by Bron. We have our own bathroom and Bron provided everything we need. Bron is so nice and friendly, she has quick responses on our booking and gave us many advise on travelling in Sydney. Bron is a great host and her pets are also very friendly and quiet. We will definitely come back next time. Thanks so much.

  • Well, that was fun! I had the perfect time at Mel`s place. Mel is a very easy going, communicative and fun host; her dog is a charm and the house is huge, modern and stylish. I have stayed in 4 different places in Sydney over my 3.5 months over here and Mel`s place won by a fair margin. That does NOT mean that the other places were bad, its just that practically everything with Mel`s place was a little bit better. Visit her, you will definitely not regret it.

    Philip2014-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really in a good location, very close to the train station and the city center. Mel is a great host and she is very friendly and helpful. You can ask any questions if you want. Staying with Harry (the dog) is a great experience as well. She is very quiet and friendly to new people. Overall, it is a great staying!

  • Mel is a great host. She's very easy going and so laid back. Her room is bright and lots of natural light. Harry her labradoodle) was so sweet. Harry greeted me with one big woof and she is friendly. Like what Mek said, Harry wouldn't even hurt a fly. Staying with Mel is a great experience with lots of flexibility. Mel is radiating like a sunny day on the beautiful Australian weather. I love her photos. She's a very talented photographer. The location is very strategic and a stone throw from the bus stop and public transportation. It's close to everything. Will definitely stay with Mel again when I come back to Sydney.

  • My stay with Mel was perfect! There is seriously not one thing I could fault- the place is clean, comfortable, stunningly decorated but still feels like home! Mel is lovely and such a good host and her dog Harry is a sweetie! I would highly recommend staying with Mel!

My 34 sqm studio is quietly tucked away yet in the middle of everything. There are a gazillion cafes/bars/supermarkets right downstairs and weekend markets across the road. A pleasant walk by the water takes you to the art gallery, botanic gardens and opera house.
The apartment is on the border between the red-light district (home to some hard characters, weekend party-goers and backpackers) and the gentrified part of the neighbourhood (the 'Paris end' of Potts Point). The 1937 building, originally nurses quarters, definitely needs a facelift but retains its period charm. My flat is renovated so feels fresh. The bathroom has been brightly painted since the photos but the shower temperature is tricky to get right so I often took baths living there, and the bath is nice and deep. Nestled between other apartments overlooking the high street and rear laneway, my flat is on the first floor and faces into a lightwell. This means there is no grand vista but also no street noise, and it's temperate with plenty of natural light. It feels spacious for a studio as the bathroom, kitchen, walk-in wardrobe and bed nook are separate from the central living area. It has a very comfortable double bed and a good fold-out single bed. Below are a patisserie and Thai take-away so kitchen sounds and smells can waft up (I've never found this too intrusive but some guests have mentioned it, see reviews). The most frequent positive feedback I get from guests is around the apartment's decoration/style and location.
I love the harbour-side walk to the Andrew Boy Charlton swimming pool, across the water from the strangely beautiful naval base. The Saturday food markets have a great vibe (I recommend The Butchers Table stall sandwiches and the Vietnamese salads and pho) and the patisserie right next door does amazing chocolate mousse cake and croissants. If you exit the back door of the building you open it onto a tiny hole-in-the-wall cafe called Room 10 which does excellent, and marvellously convenient, coffee. Bourke Street Bakery has underground seating which is warm in winter and cool in summer. The walk to Beare Park on the water takes you through residential streets with nice art deco architecture and past the historic Elizabeth Bay House, which itself has a lovely public garden across the road - both good spots for a picnic. Rushcutter's Bay is a more expansive park, good for jogging, frizbee, playgrounds etc. For brekky I go to a cafe behind my building called Petrol (terrible name, slow service, excellent food!) There is a lot of nightlife in the area - the gay clubbing precinct is nearby, tawdry Kings Cross is in full swing on weekend nights and there are some more sophisticated small bars in Potts Point and on Victoria Street. Close to Sydney's major attractions, the area is full of hotels & hostels, a tourist information booth and places to hire travelling vans, book outback adventures etc. There's an airport shuttle bus which loops around the streets every half hour and the hop-on hop-off city tour bus stops outside my building.
  • Ariana is a lovely person and the communication was very smooth and friendly. Thanks a lot and next time thaI pass in Sydney I'll try to stay again at her place.

    Ricardo2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this cosy unit. The unit is in a great location and is clean and comfortable. Ariana provided all the information we needed in a prompt and professional manner. She was very understanding when our flight was delayed and we kept her waiting for hours.

    Colleen2014-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place! Great location, close to everything. Ariana was such a lovely host, so helpful and always contactable. Could not be happier with our stay :)

    Jaime2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ariana was very informative and helpful with all the things we needed to know before and during the stay at her place, and although we could not meet her in person, we felt she was available via the AirBnB messenger with all the answers we craved. The place is well located and very close to the main Sydney attractions which is the added bonus. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen small but well equipped, the bathroom small, but has it all. Overall, the furnishings match the character of the place. On the downside, the window almost touches the opposite building wall and the A/C unit outside can wake you up at night. The suburb tends to be frequented by all sorts of weirdos and rowdies, but that can be fun, too. Given all that, I would recommend the place to anyone looking for a spot full of life, close to the city centre, and one that offers a lot.

    Jacek2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment of Ariana was perfect for our stay in Sydney. It felt like home the moment we stepped in. The atmosphere was just lovely! The bed was comfortable and the small modern kitchen was prepared with everything we needed. The location is also a big plus. It is quiet although all the nice bars and restaurants are around the corner. We walked easily form there to the harbour. Ariana was very kind and obliging and helps her guests with a map with all the relevant information and personal tips. We really enjoyed our stay and would always love to come again. Thank your very much, Ariana!

    Malou2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Ariana's apartment. She was a fab host and let us check in 2 hours early. The place was super clean and in a great location.

    Lucy2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay in Sydney and to explore the beautiful inner city and eastern suburbs. The place is so comfortable and cosy and enticing, so much so that I ended spending lots of time inside reading and lounging. Comms with Ariana was a breeze. Highly highly recommended!!!

    Nga2017-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cute apartment with loads of character in an amazing location with just a 15 minute scenic walk to the opera house and harbour bridge. Checking in was easy, felt very welcome and Ariana even looked after our bags after we had checked out so we could go to Bondi beach before we had to leave. Fantastic host! If we ever return we shall be in touch!

Our apartment, is a creative space right in the heart of Newtown on King St. With a rear lane access we are secluded enough to get away from it all, even though everything is right outside our door.
Ours is a creative artistic space, definitely one for the adventurous open minded guest. The building is very old and has character.
What's not to love about Newtown? We love it all! Plus it is close to everything you need!
  • Shane is very nice and his house is a good place to stay.

  • VERY GOOD STAY. NICE BLOKE. VERY GOOD LOCATION.

    LIAM2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place is close to the train station and bus stop. The room is same as the picuture. And Shane is a pretty good host.

    天祥2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Shane is a very artistic and friendly guy with great sense of humor. Luckily we were able to have some long conversations with lots of laughter. His place was clean and adequate. The bed was huge and cozy. Easy access to everywhere while in the bedroom it was very quiet. Only a slight problem was the wifi was slow and unstable in my room. But, seriously, who cares? Shane himself could be a reason to stay in this place, especially for those who likes arts and films.

    Takahiro2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Shane is really friendly, helpful & funny :D ! I had appropriate advices & nice chats during the time i spent there. The place is well localised with lots of restaurants and other facilities nearby :)

    Michele2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Shane's place was exactly as pictured. My room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. The flat is located in the midst of Newtown, Sydney which is very active. One is close to all sorts of eateries, drinking establishments, cinema, etc. It's a happening part of town but the house is quite quiet as it is removed a bit from the main street. Shane himself has an enormous collection of films and is interesting to talk to. One does have to go down a flight of stairs to reach the sole bathroom so older people might want to factor this into consideration. It is very much a lived in house but I rather liked this feature. It's large, clean, and has all the usual amenities. I'd recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Lastly, Shane was very prompt in communicating which is always nice!

    Raymond2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, between the CBD and the airport. Shane is a very nice person and his VHS collection is definitely amazing. The room is very basic and would need a little touch of new (painting, new windows,...) Maybe a little bit expensive for what it is, but i guess we pay the good location!

Inside, downstairs can get quite dark, as there are only windows in the loungeroom. NB The toilet is in the backyard, and has the same dark grey concrete flooring as the backyard. Please read through the captions on the photos. There is an additional joined studio space in the bedroom, just for you, with some available storage space.

  • This was a building site with bathroom and toilet down stairs, which I was aware of, but cat owns the bed, found a broom to sweep cat fur, crap off floor, and had to ask for towels, had to buy a roll of toilet paper, and had to plug the small bar fridge in, didn't get a good vibe, but soooo close to King street, and the neighbor who owns Drunk on the moon a great little antique shop was so helpful

  • We had a great time staying at Tay’s! The location is amazing. Restaurants, shops and train station within walking distance. There’s even a cafe downstairs that makes great coffee. We LOVED the visits from the two cats. The white one was especially friendly and was great to snuggle up to on the couch If you’re not a cat fan, don’t worry, just shut the door and they won’t disturb you. The window by the bedroom doesn’t have curtains so bring an eye mask if you want to sleep in! Tay and her partner were both super helpful hosts. Thanks for a great stay!

Tina is exceptionally communicative, making the self check in and other logistic details a breeze, as well as leaving us with so many tips about what to do around the neighbourhood and how to get settled in Australia. Both are very gentle hosts who have a great expierence with traveling and travelers. Our room was bright, very clean and we had enough space to store our luggage into the lockers. The entire apartment is modern furnished and fully equipped with an awesome coffee machine and a laundry. Our bright and cosy apartment is in a very central location in Newtown, 5 min walk from King St and only 2 min from Erskineville village. The area is packed with some of Sydney's best cafes, pubs and restaurants. Close to shops, buses & train stations.
Our apartment is located in an eclectic/bohemian part of Sydney which means that you will probably spend more time outside exploring than indoors, but we try to create an inviting atmosphere in our home which we hope you will enjoy. The space is made up of an open plan, fully equipped kitchen and living area, two desks/workspaces, small WC downstairs, generous balcony with table and stools, bedroom in loft upstairs with queen bed, ensuite bathroom and laundry with washer and dryer. Timber floors downstairs and cosy carpet upstairs. Walls are decorated with photography by Damien and art by Anastasia and other selected artists.
Newtown is sought after for its' unique crowd, quirky atmosphere and some of the best cafes, shops and restaurants in Sydney. There are also a few markets that we can recommend in the area like Eveleigh market which is only 15 minutes walk from our place. There is a supermarket next door which is open until 10 pm and makes food shopping ultra convenient.
  • Fantastic apartment! Great location, clean, comfy, with everything we needed. Super close to shops and great coffee. Thank you Damien and Anastasia :)

  • This fabulous apartment is so comfortable, stylish and practically furnished , stocked for a comfortable stay. It's location was so convenient for our transport by train from the airport, being 3 mins walk to either Erko or Newtown stations. The "Go Get" car right outside the front door was an added bonus. Woolworths directly downstairs and a plethora of cafes and restaurants close by made meals an easy choice. The Dendy had cheap tickets while we were there too. i will definitely be back and have already recommended it to a friend for her Sydney visits. Thank you.

    Debra2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures were accurate. The apartment is a comfortable and relaxed space. It is well located, between two train lines, adjacent to main roads with many restaurants, and extremely close to a supermarket. Despite being close to trains/roads, the apartment is very quiet. The Sydney weather was uncharacteristically quite cool and I found the downstairs area a bit cool during that time, but there was a great heater upstairs.

    Darren2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • From the very first contact, everything went smoothly. The apartment is in a great location. Easy walking distance to two train stations, the laid back suburb of Erskenville and the upbeat funky suburb of Newtown. Cafes, restaurants and bars are all easily accessible. The variety is amazing!! It's far enough away from all of these for a very peaceful and quiet stay though. The apartment is also located directly above a metro Woolies, very convenient. The bottle of wine left for us was a great surprise and went own beautifully sitting in the deck admiring the afternoon sun. I would highly recommend staying here, it was fantastic. The hosts also left restaurant and cafe recommendations. Can't speak highly enough of Mary's Burgers!! Treat yourself.

  • Staying at Damien's beautiful loft apartment was wonderful. The location was excellent with bars, places to eat and a train station within walking distance plus there was a supermarket virtually downstairs. The apartment itself is beautiful and we really enjoyed the spacious living area, balcony and eclectic vibe. Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Damien and Anastasia made us feel very welcome with a bottle of wine, amenities and a guest book that explained how to use everything in the apartment and local recommendations for restaurants and cafes and things to do in the area. The apartment is lovely, light filled, nice and clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here and next time we're back in Sydney we'll be sure to book here again. It's also in a perfect location, close to lovely cafes and shops and very easy to get into the city.

Barbora and her husband are both very nice, and Barbora made me feel so welcome and comfortable in their home. She recommended things to do, places to eat, and how to get there. I really enjoyed her cats as well!

  • Even though I was only there for one night, Barbora and Richard are great hosts and accommodate for every need you'll have staying in Sydney's inner west. The location is perfect - a quiet street, and only a short walk to King St/Newtown and St Peters train station. As the description says, make sure you are a pet lover as their budgies and two cats, Pima and Zeus, are as adorable as they get. Would definitely recommend their place for your next stay in Sydney!

  • Very nice property in a great location just off Enmore Rd. Newtown Station a couple minutes away on foot, shopping all around, and plenty of great restaurants in the area. Very quiet and clean as well. Fittings and details could be improved. Nothing major, but we did particularly notice the lack of options in the kitchen and slow internet. With a large, 4 bedroom property, people will want to take advantage of the kitchen, and there was very little on offer beyond the basics. We found ourselves without a bottle opener or a decent sized bowl to mix a salad in, and the salad was the only thing we tried to cook. Overall very good Airbnb, but it could easily be great with some minor improvements. Would happily recommend the property to friends and family.

  • An absolutely tremendous stay at Anna's place. It was a clean spacious room with the enhanced benefits of being close to public transport and fantastic restaurants. However my favorite highlight from the place was Anna's amicable friends that made it feel homely and warm!

  • 1 min walk to the bus station with (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) min walk to St Peter train station. Clean and comfortable stay.

  • Spent close to two weeks at Anna's and it was such a cozy and comfortable stay. It didn't take long to feel like home, and the girls in the house were very friendly and easy to get along with, and it never felt too crowded or noisy as everyone had their own schedules and agendas. A great place to explore Newtown and the train station was so convenient in getting me around all of Sydney as well.

  • We had such a great long weekend in Sydney! Tom and Trevor's place was in a perfect location for us-within a couple of minutes walk to the Jivamukti yoga centre, delicious food and coffee options and public transport into central Sydney as well as the beach. Their Italian greyhound is incredibly friendly, as are Tom and Trevor! We had a great stay, thank you!

  • This was the most amazing stay we've ever had with airb&b! Amazing hosts, amazing breakfast, amazing dog! Highly recommend!! ;-)

  • Tom and Trevor are amazing hosts, and so is little Thongfar! They took real good care of us, provided with everything we needed and helped us with tips how to get around Sydney. Such a lovely stay :) Thank you!

  • Great hosts, very friendly, helpful and kind. They completely respect your privacy and are willing to help for anything. The home is beautiful and close to the train that can get you anywhere in Sydney. We even accidentally left something behind and they helped us get it back. Can't recommend them enough you should stay here it's worth it!

    Natalie2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Trevor were great hosts. They give you good advise where to go and how to get there. The bedroom was big and nice decorated. They live in Newtown, an alternative suburb of Sydney with lots of little restaurants and parks. The train station isn't far away so you can catch the train to the city really easily. They have got a dog: Thongfar is a greyhound and he is just adorable and really well behaved. We really enjoyed the stay and can highly recommend this place because of the lovely hosts and the place were they live (Newtown). .

  • What a gem. Tom was the consumate host. From the first moment we stepped across the doorway we were made to feel at home. House is cosy & quaint, with a little dog buzzing full of attiutude it made for a great weekend. Bonus items such as the beautiful breakfast layout & stylish water jug in the room made for the icing on the cake. Tom is also quite personable & warm. Very happy to recommend this gem. I'll be back again

  • Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Beautiful home, excellent, convenient location close to the train, and super cute pup. Tom and Trevor are incredibly friendly and helpful and provide an amazing breakfast spread everyday! Room is clean, comfortable and stylishly decorated, and you get your own tv which was good for watching the Olympic coverage. Definitely highly recommend and will stay again if back in Sydney.

    Perfect House In Newtown
    144 reviews
Located in the heart of bohemian Newtown, this spacious gem combines old-world charm with modern luxury - new kitchen and bathroom, polished tallow wood floors. Walk to bars, cafes, shops, universities, trains and buses. Three train stops to city.
This is a fully furnished, self-contained apartment in a state heritage-listed row of houses. It has a living room (with a fold-out, fully sprung, sofa-bed), a large flat-screen TV, high-speed broadband wireless internet, and a bedroom with a comfy double bed with a fully sprung mattress. There are original tallow-wood floors throughout the freshly painted apartment.
Newtown is known for its many cuisines - both upmarket and street. It is an inner-city suburb buzzing with cafes, bars, funky boutique shops, and Saturday markets. Everything is in walking distance - public transport, ATMs, movies, supermarkets, bookshops, and parks. It has the finest cake shops, the best buskers, and magnificent murals. Furthermore we're within walking distance of Sydney University, UTS and Notre Dame.
  • We arrived before our scheduled checkin, but Lynne was very accommodating and arranged for us to drop off our luggage while the airbnb was cleaned. Newton is a really vibrate area with lots of yummy places to eat that are quite affordable. The airbnb's close proximity made travel to the rest of Sydney pretty convenient. We had a wonderful time!

    Kiko2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne and Craig's place is even prettier than described, and it turned out to be much more spacious than I was expecting. You really feel like you're staying in a bit of history but with a modern touch - you don't have to to deal with drafts and other things you would expect from an old house. We felt very welcomed by Lynne, with a bottle of wine left on the table for us to enjoy, and detailed instructions that made it easy to get into the house (not needing keys was nice!). The house is in a very convenient location with lots of delicious restaurants a stone's throw away so we didn't end up needing to use the kitchen facilities. The train station being less than 10 mins walk away was also very convenient. It was toasty warm in the house with the heater even though it was a particularly cold weekend for Sydney. The pillows on the beds were absolutely divine.

  • The place was perfect for our 3 nights in Sydney. Light, spacious & clean as described. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Lynne was very responsive and accommodated our requests, which was much appreciated. Location is very close to Newtown station which was handy for getting into the city, as well as enjoying great local restaurants etc. Thanks!

  • Beautiful house close to everything in a fantastic neighbourhood. I would like to stay there next time in Sydney.

    Jo & Paul2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The home was well-appointed and in the heart of Newtown. Close to the train station and felt like a local tucked into a side street off Enmore. Only issue was the front room (lounge can be pulled out as a bed) can be noisy if you're a light sleeper depending on the top floor residents and street traffic. Sound sleeping in the dedicated bedroom in the center of the house. Overall a great experience!

    Elizabeth2016-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, great communication & comfortable accommodation. Great base for our Sydney Uni course. No need for public transport as within easy walking distance :))

    Victoria2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne's place is absolutely gorgeous! Larger even than pictured, and very charming - crown moldings, chandeliers, beautiful kitchen! It was a perfect place to stay in Sydney. Newtown is uber hip and full of amazing restaurants, cafes, and shops. Downtown Sydney is an easy ten minute train ride, and the apartment is a five minute walk from the station. Lynne is also incredibly hospitable and cool! We really feel lucky to have stayed here!

A secluded room in bohemian Newtown, complete with its own living room. New bathroom (shared with the one other airbnb room). Everything within walking distance - transport, movies, restaurants, bars. Please note that this is inner-city high-density living, and Newtown is a suburb known for diversity. The back wing of a large Victorian terrace in a quiet street, close to the buzz of Newtown, Enmore and Erskineville. Your pick. Super convenient to Sydney University, University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), and Notre Dame's Broadway campus. Two cats and a super friendly miniature poodle.
I love the closeness of the busy-ness of the neighbourhood. Newtown is a vibrant suburb choc full of absolutely everything you need, as well as offering the quietness of home.
  • Lynne made me feel really welcome, and was easy to find. She was also full of helpful suggestions. Great place, overall.

    Sinead2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne, the hostess, was very nice and pleasant. Her children were delightful. The house poodle, Bryan, was adorable. There are two identical AirBnB rooms that are adjacent to each other with one shared bath and a small shared common area, all located at very back upstairs, segregated from rest of the house. It's ok to use the downstairs kitchen if you choose. The single biggest issue is that one of the rooms faces a housing project at the rear of the house. On the first two nights, there were domestic disturbances (major family loud arguments that lasted for 20-30 minutes each) between the hours of 11:00 pm and 4:30 am. I brought this to Lynne's attention, but not much she could do as it was not her property. Also, I visited in January, summertime in Sydney. There is no air conditioning in either of the two AirBnB rooms, so sleep was not so comfortable on three of the six nights. The biggest asset of this area is the abundance of ethnic and niche restaurants, coffee shops, and other very cool shops. It's also about 500 meters from the Newtown train station. Cool neighborhood, but not restful, quiet, or peaceful at nighttime. But, they do their best.

    Clint2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lynne's warm hospitality made me feel at home within minutes of arriving. Her home is conveniently located a short walk from Newtown train station (from there access to the rest of Sydney is easy). The immediate area, Newtown, is vibrant, bustling with independent restaurants, cafes and bars; it's a perfect base to explore the city, very safe and the accommodation is located in a charming quiet street that is secluded from the lively atmosphere that radiates from nearby King street. Lynne's house is beautifully presented and the bnb accommodation benefits from its own cosy sitting room and en suit bathroom. Staying with Lynne and her family (including two adorable cats and a lovable dog) has quickly become an important part of my fondest memories of my Sydney visit.

    Matthew2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Lynne for just over a week. The room is comfortable, quiet and clean and also allowed you to come and go as you please. The location is excellent, 5 minutes from the train station to explore Sydney and also located perfectly to explore all Newtown has to offer. Lynne was also available to offer any suggestions on what to do and see while in Sydney. Thanks Lynne.

    Bryan2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Lynne's place in Newtown for several days. My stay was very pleasant. The house is located in a quiet street close to the Newtown train station. The room was clean and very comfortable, and Lynne was warm and friendly. I had a great time, and would recommend it to others.

    Esti2014-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't have picked a better place to stay than Lynne's place! The location is perfect- located right between Enmore and King, in one of the best neighborhoods in Sydney! Lynne and her son Zach gave me some great suggestions for local spots to eat and provided plenty of maps, as well as an Opal card for me to use public transportation, which was SUPER helpful! Some other highlights included keyless entry (no fumbling for keys when I got home at night- simply plug in a code!) and a very strong, fast wifi connection (so important!). Also two adorable dogs, Jasper and Bryan, who I almost packed in my suitcase with me! :) next time I return to Sydney I'm definitely booking here again!

    Veronica2015-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Lynn’s place for three nights in Newtown, a great suburb of Sydney with lots to see and do. Lynn is a great host and the room was clean and tidy, as was the bathroom. The most important thing for us when traveling is a good bed and a good shower. Both of these were available at Lynn’s house and our stay was made so much more enjoyable knowing that we could come home after a long day exploring and be comfortable and relaxed. I would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Newtown is a diverse, bohemian neighbourhood that bustles with activity day and night. Shoppers head to King Street’s indie bookshops and thrift stores. Hip bars and eateries with multicultural fare cater to locals and University of Sydney students. The Enmore Theatre hosts comedy revues and live music. Restored Victorian buildings and street art, including a mural of Martin Luther King, round out the scene. The home is across from Hollis Park and playground. This traditional park is used by many dog owners as dogs are allowed off-leash from 6.00am There are some great big, wide paths good for scootering and the playground is a maze for the littler kids, with the bigger kids finding plenty to do as well. It's really well shaded so is a great choice on a hot day.

  • This is a four story terrace, as described. The bedroom in the attic is large but sparsely furnished. there is no balcony and the bathroom is down a couple of sets of stairs. Host was not home and I felt uncomfortable in the home and unsure of bathroom arrangements, I expected an ensuite or adjoining bathroom. There was also no way of locking the bedroom door and since this is a really large home and I had not met the host, I did not stay at the home.

  • Raffael was amazing!! We couldn't have asked for better stay with a better host! His prompt and open communication with us was greatly appreciated. Raffael and his magnificent home are the reasons why we choose Air B&B, it's an experience in itself. It was private and quiet yet a short stroll to the hub of Newtown where the choices for food were endless and only a $13 uber to Sydney CBD!! His home is absolutely beautiful, the bedroom was luxuriously decorated and the bed and linen were hotel quality. Right across the road is a lovely leafy park where we enjoyed a delicious morning coffee before we headed home. I cannot recommend Raffael enough.

  • Such a lovely place to stay. Hanish was so warm and welcoming. The space is funky and homey, in a vibrant part of Sydney close to great shops, restaurants and bars. We felt so at home here during our stay. Hanish was responsive to our messages and accomodating with all our requests. He respected our privacy and made us feel very welcome. He has a friendly dog and cute little kitty too! It's the best Air BnB we have ever stayed at and will certainly always look to stay here any time we come back to Sydney in the future :)

  • I had a lovely stay at Emmanuel & Hanish's terrace house in Newtown. The location was perfect because it's so close to all the shops, buses and train station on King Street. Emmanuel & Hanish were fantastic and very knowledgeable hosts. Rocket was so adorable and well behaved too. Their home is very relaxed, clean and tidy and I felt very welcomed during my stay. I would definitely book this accommodation again in the future and I have no hesitation in recommending this place. Thanks Emmanuel and Hanish for being such great hosts and for the late checkout! See you again soon.

  • My partner and I had a lovely time staying for one night at Hanish and Emmanuel's beautiful home. They were really communicative, but also gave us space to settle in - and we were greeted with two delicious complimentary craft beers on arrival! They were also careful to point out all of the best places to eat in Newtown, and in the city where we were going that night. We felt very at home, and loved spending time with their adorable kelpie, Rocket. We would definitely stay with Hanish and Emmanuel again.

Located in vibrant Newtown with great cafes, restaurants and close to parks and public transport. A short walk to King Street, Carriageworks, RPA Hospital and Sydney University. Newtown is an amazing inner city location with easy access to public transport to get you all around Sydney. Car parking is not available with the flat and street parking is very limited in this area. Surrounding streets are zoned residential parking.
  • Great flat in a very convenient location. Exactly as described and spotlessly clean. Fully kitted out. Even though the streets are not very well lit around that area, I felt quite safe as a female travelling alone. Joanne responded to almost all my questions quickly, and was very helpful when I needed an extra mattress for my daughter. All in all a great flat in a very central location

    lynda2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Although we did not actually meet face to face, Joanne made us feel very welcome. The flat was exactly like the picture and was very comfortable. I would certainly recommend Joanne's flat and, if I find myself in Sydney again, I would certainly stay here again.

    Angela2016-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you think this flat looks good online, wait until you see it for real, it is just sensational! Thankyou Joanne , loved my visit and far exceeded all expectations. Simply an outstanding property.l

    Rob2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne's accommodation was fabulous - a beautifully appointed apartment in a central location. Night life, restaurants, cafes, bars and transport all close by yet the surrounds are quiet and relaxed. Everything one could possibly need is in one of the cupboards or drawers. Joanne was a generous host who responded promptly and efficiently to any request or question. Highly recommended.

    Joanne2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying in Joanne's Newtown flat! The location was perfect, close to public transportation and less than a 5 min walk away from King Street which has so much to offer. Joanne was flexible with our check in and check out times which we really appreciated. She also left a wonderfully detailed guide with suggestions and directions. The flat itself was even better than the pictures. Very spacious and very clean. It is above a garage so you can definitely hear when someone opens or closes the garage doors. However, that didn't happen much. We didn't even hear it every day, and obviously it's only noisy for less than a minute, so we didn't mind at all. Joanne had left earplugs for us but we didn't need them as otherwise the flat was incredibly quiet. Joanne was also very good about responding to any messages. We always heard back from her very quickly. We would gladly stay again!

    Vivian2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Joanne's flat. The flat is finished to a high standard and is well equipped for a short stay. The location very convenient, being very close to both the heart of Newtown, with a vast array of eateries, shops etc and MacDonaldtown railway station. We would certainly return to this flat if ever needing accommodation in this area in the future. Joanne responded very promptly to our emails and queries after arrival.

    Helen2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cute little loft style apartment, seems to be nearly refurbished. Everything is super clean and homely with modern comforts. Was close to King Street and the train line. A very comfortable stay.

    Brooke2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was just as described and the location excellent for our stay as we were attending a show at the Enmore theatre (15 mins walk from the flat) Loved the little balcony were you can enjoy a glass of wine and the vaulted ceilings and layout of the flat was great. The area of Newtown itself is very eclectic and interesting so we loved being able to hang out in the neighbourhood. Communication with Joanne was quick and easy and she gave us advice on getting from the airport via public transport. We would happily stay here again.

If you like to be close to the action, you can't get much closer with this gorgeous terrace situated in the heart of Newtown. Offering an enviable lifestyle in a thriving spot, it's close enough to walk to absolutely everything, and yet, behind the front door is an unexpectedly spacious and tranquil retreat, away from the hustle and bustle. Bathed in beautiful all-day sunshine, the star feature of this home is the lovely rear deck & courtyard providing a lush alfresco haven for relaxing.
Welcome to one of the most sought after addresses in Newtown. My idyllic two-storey terrace home is located just 230m from Newtown Train Station and all of King Street’s 600 cafes, galleries, theatres, boutiques, and petite venues. Downstairs hosts an open planned indoor-outdoor living space. The brand new kitchen escapes into the living room via a breakfast bar before opening up to the outdoor dining courtyard and raised deck balcony. Featuring high-end Smeg designer appliances, including a Nescafe milk frother and Breville blender, the kitchen is packed with everything you need for Michelin quality dining. You’ll find chrome-finished bar stools at the breakfast bar, great for both quick meals and long conversations in the kitchen. The kitchen has a dishwasher so you won’t have to spend time doing dishes while on holiday in Australia. The kitchen flows through to the living room which houses a huge 55 inch Sony television and an even larger black leather chaise lounge. Get comfy amongst the cushions catching up with the latest on-screen or through conversation with your friends around you. The kitchen also leads into the Andy Warhol Dining Room which comfortably seats eight. Full tableware and glassware is available in the kitchen for private dinner parties (or cans of soup) during your stay. The standout feature of my home is the spacious private alfresco dining area and deck-balcony. Bordered with a vertical garden of bright geraniums and fragrant Jasmine on one side, the courtyard is an unbelievable quiet oasis located so close to the hustle and bustle of Sydney’s Newtown precinct. This special place is great for peaceful relaxation or more boisterous entertaining with outdoor dining for eight and a gas BBQ available for use. A retractable sun-shade can be pulled over to provide protection from the sun or rain, season dependent. Downstairs the bathroom includes a shower with heated towel rails and a European style laundry featuring both a washing machine and dryer. An iron and full-size ironing board is provided for your convenience. Upstairs, the beds have luxurious 5* pillow-top mattresses with extra support for a sound night’s sleep. All bedding has 500 thread count hotel quality linen, with all stays including fresh cotton bath towels for all guests. All bedrooms upstairs have ample wardrobe space for even the heaviest packer. The master bedroom features a large queen bed and large double-windows that open up to your private garden oasis below. A safe is provided in the wardrobe to store your personal items if you so choose. The second bedroom opens up to a front-facing balcony and includes a large double bed. The third bedroom is loft-style and includes a daybed that transforms into a very comfortable king-sized bed. You’ll find a portable cot in the wardrobe of the third bedroom which you’re welcome to use if travelling with young family members. All bedrooms have individually-controlled reverse cycle air-conditioning and bedside lamps to catch up on some reading before falling asleep. Additional guests can comfortably stay downstairs on either the comfy chaise leather sofa bed or on a queen air mattress which features a moulded pillow and a built in automatic pump for easy inflation and deflation. Full linen, including queen sized quilts, will be provided for additional guests on request. The upstairs bathroom is home to a bathtub and an additional shower. You can be sure to stay warm after the shower by grabbing a fresh towel off the heated towel rail - another extra little touch to give you the most luxurious experience. Toiletries, including shampoo and conditioner, are provided complimentarily in both bathrooms. The salon hair dryer is kept under the sink. Free unlimited wifi is available all throughout the home and the dining table or breakfast bar can be used as a workstation for business travellers. Street parking for your car is available across the road. My place is an exquisite house and was built with socializing and groups in mind. The vibe and location will leave you with lifetime memories and I look forward to welcoming you. The space is perfect for families, groups staying in Sydney for weddings, holidays or reunions. It is not the space to hold events like a ‘Hens’ or ‘Bucks’ weekend. In summary, my luxury home comes with: + three bedrooms including a king, queen and double bed + additional queen sized air bed downstairs on request + a fully equipped designer kitchen + 2 modern bathrooms and bathtub + unlimited fast wifi internet + high quality bed linen and quality towels + laundry and ironing facilities + an amazing private courtyard and entertaining area
Don you finest thrift-store finds and ride the bike you built yourself in Newtown and Enmore, Sydney's shabbiest, chicest bohemian outpost in the city's inner west suburbs. Go alternative, go underground, go vegan, vegetarian, and less-meatatarian at one of Newtown and Enmore's 600 cafes, galleries, theatres, boutiques, and petite venues. When the long night eventually comes to a close, wander your way back through dewy park spaces to well-worn and well-loved terrace homes and converted warehouses. Walking down King Street you can pass Uni students, colourful artists, same-sex couples, elderly locals, wealthy professionals and young families. Newtown's café culture offers a perfect opportunity to sit back and absorb the surrounding atmosphere. Around the corner is also a Woolworths supermarket stocked with everything you could possibly need, and is close to one of many family friendly parks in Newtown.
  • Very hip and nice location. 5 min walk to train and King St, 3 min walk to supermarket (Woolworth's). Everything you need is in the area. Callum was very easy to reach when he had questions. Thanks for accommodating us!

  • Lovely place to stay! All the facilities for any size group to base yourself for activities around Newtown.

    Chris2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great - the area is unreal and the house is really nice however we couldn't get a response from the host as the internet was broken - it took 5 days to get a reply -it is obviously run by a 3rd party provider and t was hard to get in contact.

    alex2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Callum's house is great. Clean, well-appointed bathroom, kitchen, living space. Newtown is an excellent lively area of Inner Sydney. Was great having fabulous coffee, restaurants, cafes, shops, gym, yoga studio just up the road. All in very easy walking access (2 mins walk), but the house isn't noisy during the night and we felt safe. Callum is an excellent host. His communication is efficient, timely and courteous. As such, we didn’t have any questions during our stay, but I am sure he would have assisted if required. Callum accepted our request promptly (almost immediately). We liked being able to stay for only two nights. Many properties require a three-night minimum. Our only disappointment was one of the upstairs 'bedrooms' was not very private. As three independent friends, it was unfortunate one of us stayed in an open plan space, (bit of a hallway), guests required to walk past / disturb to get to the other two bedrooms. Would stay there again.

  • Cozy place. Very convenient to markets. About 5mins walk to train station.

Renovated terrace house in trendy Newtown. Queen bed sleeps two people comfortably. There is a portable cot that is available in the room.
Great night life, plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars and theatres. Quiet street just behind the Enmore Theatre. Stay 1 night and take in a concert and dinner or the weekend and explore Sydney.

  • Michael and Jeannine are wonderful and hospitable hosts. We loved the location - quiet neighborhood yet close to the buzz. It is a short walk to Newtown station, with many food options around.

  • I was welcomed with a cuppa tea upon arrival. The place is really homely and lovely. Thank you for welcoming me, and for the stay.

    Katie2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at Michael and Jeanine's place in Newtown. The room was very spacious and comfortable, in a really handy location right between the two main roads in Newtown. Michael and Jeanine were nice enough to provide breakfast in the morning (variety of cereals, bread, muffins, jam, greek yoghurt, coffee, tea, etc) which made everything a lot easier. They are friendly and welcoming hosts. The only thing to take note of is that the bathroom is a little bit of a walk from the bedroom, down the hall and across the living room. Not a problem for us but worth bearing in mind!

It's the ideal home for all. Be it that you're traveling from overseas or you're here due to activities at the University or the hospital; attending shows at the Enmore theatre; or Carriage Works. It's also the ideal home for exploring Sydney in every direction for those here to explore. You’ll love my place because of the the convenience to everything you want. Plus the comfy bed and friendliness. The room is spacious & comfortable. It's a great place for any reason you need an Air BnB.
I live here - I will keep the house fresh and homely. The feedback has always been that it is a comfortable home away from home. This is an old house, quite typical of the area, and every effort is taken by me to keep the house homely, clean & tidy. My house is right in the heart of Newtown. A retro styled house, which is comfortable, with character and personality. Walking distance to cafes, music venues, bars, movies, concerts, restaurants & shops. Friendly and safe. Location location location - close to buses and trains. Newtown is the gateway to Sydney's quirky inner west - with the suburbs of Alexandria, Enmore, Marrickville, Erskineville, Redfern and Chippendale all within walking distance. There is always something interesting to see and do in this part of town. It takes around 10 - 15 mins to walk to Carriageworks. Nearby you have Woolworths in Erskineville for shopping, just a few minutes walk, or IGA on King Street. Both are literally minutes away. It's a 20 minute walk to Sydney University and a similar walk to The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Buses are plentiful. You can go anywhere from King Street to: Bondi Junction - catch the 352 from King Street. City - several buses run to the city from King St or catch the train. Inner West Suburbs - several buses run from King St. Darling Harbour - bus to Railway Square, then walk down or catch the light rail Beaches north side and south side from King Street: * 370 bus takes you to Coogee * M30 takes you to Mosman - walk down to Balmoral Beach * 352 takes you to Bondi Junction, then switch to a different bus for the beach a few minutes away Blue Mountains - catch the train to Central (3 stops) then switch to a train for the mountains
Newtown is known for its vibrancy & diversity; and you will find plenty of that on the streets, in the bars, cafes and restaurants. It's all about sensual, living experiences. There are no shortages of bars, restaurants, cafes & shops on King St & Enmore Rd. The Dendy Theatre is also on King St, and the Enmore Theatre on Enmore Road, less than a 10 min walk. If you want something quieter, Erskineville is just around the corner. A vibrant village filled with pubs, cafes and bars.
  • Recommended. Private & friendly host.

  • Kerri is a lovely host, the room felt instantly like it was my own, I had a great sleep, the room smelt nice and the towels and sheets were nice and clean. Thank you so much Kerri. Look forward to my next stay.

  • A great location close to all amenities and transport.

    mike2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • You have access to the whole house, including kitchen and bathroom when you stay which is very convenient when you travel in group and prefer to cook instead of eating out. The location is strategic, close to everything and Newtown is very vibrant with many things going on. Kerri is a wonderful host. My family only visited in Sydney for a few days from Vietnam and so tried to make the most out of our stay. We traveled most of the day and came back late in the evening, also because we still haven't adjusted to the new time zone, we ate dinner late and might have caused noises when everyone is asleep in the house. Kerri didn't mind at all and was always very welcoming when it came to sharing the space. We very much enjoyed our stay at her house.

  • I had a lovely stay it was easy to find and central to shops and restaurants. It was accomodating to what I needed. Thanks

  • Kerri was an incredibly warm and hospitable host who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. For example, she invited me to shows, had great ideas for experiencing the city, offered interesting conversation & friendly chats, and was a great sport when I needed to get in touch with a friend but didn't have wifi at the time (thank you!). I was very lucky to have found an affordable, charming room in a very unique neighbourhood, and of course, with a friendly, personable host who went out of her way to help me with anything I needed while staying in Newtown. This made all the difference for me while I was travelling alone in an unfamiliar country. I would absolutely love to return if I ever find myself in Sydney again :)

Walk a few minutes to parks and shopping in Newtown. Fantastic location.
Two storey open plan apartment with 3 balconies, 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom. I live here with my dog. He's a cutie. but there is a double bedroom, bathroom, laundry and balcony all to yourself on a separate floor. Fully serviced kitchen with dishwasher. Free Wifi. Laundry in the apartment. I travel a lot for work so sometimes there is a second bedroom available which also has its own bathroom. There is security parking if needed.

  • Had a nice stay at Darren’s place - good location for my needs and easy to get about town. Comfortable bed and nice and quiet (with the doors closed) considering the location is right on a main road. Only issue (not really an issue, just caught me by surprise) was that I didn’t realize I was booking for a shared space, not a private apartment. However, this was not a problem. Would recommend if needing a place in the area.
