This is an original log camp with some modern touches , situated on a babbling brook , it’s a very short walk to the Hudson River for fishing , rafting or just enjoying the beauty of the Adirondack park , 10 minutes from Gore Mtn ski area , 30 minutes from lake George .. it’s a wonderful place to unplug and relax
  • This cabin was a great location for a weekend up in the Adirondacks. We had a wonderful time and would go again!

    Luke2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this cabin! Pleasantly secluded and peaceful with a lovely location right by a stream, which was very soothing. The home itself was cozy and comfortable. Our doggo loved it too and felt right at home exploring the property. The cabin had everything one might need, especially in the kitchen, where we did plenty of cooking. We enjoyed that a lot. The cabin is certainly rustic and seems to have been in a family for many years, and it shows (in a good way) - lots of character! There's no cell signal or wifi, which we wanted and expected, but just as a heads up for others. Thanks so much!!

    Diane2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot recommend highly enough. Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. My friends and I felt like we had been welcomed into a home.

    Mikayla2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time enjoying the outdoors!! Great little cabin surrounded by the beautiful mountains!

    Bill2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Colleen's cabin was amazingly peaceful. They had a lot more amenities available than expected. Like a full bathroom with a hot shower and a full stove and fridge to store food in. It was just on the edge of the wilderness so you could feel like you could unwind and relax while still being close to local shops for groceries or wine. I loved the location right by the creek and how homey the cabin felt. I felt right at home and would definitely look to stay again!

    Rhianna2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was better than expected. Here is what to expect: Access to the cabin is by bridge. Parking is on the side of the road by the bridge entrance. The hosts are kind and very informative of the area. The sound of the brook is soothing and you can open the windows to hear it all day. Excellent location for hiking and trails. 5 minutes away from stores if you forgot something. Cabin has full kitchen, laundry, bathroom, skylight, and plenty of beds. No cell service, enjoy the privacy and forget about time. Experience camping with the convenience of a cozy log cabin!

  • Dylan was a great communicator throughout. The pellet stove was warm enough to keep my room warm without leaving the door open all night. Very comfortable bed and warm blankets. No frills but just what I needed for the night. Almost turned on streaming movies but it was just relaxing to sit near the stove and read.

    Elise2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, warm and cozy cabin with all the modern amenities and great game selection. Beds were nice and firm and the common areas spacious.

    Matthew2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Dylan was extremely accommodating. He upgraded my room and allowed me a very late last minute check- in. His place is cozy and in a great location. I’d love to come back for more than one night

    Leann2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Dylan's place was great and very convenient to Gore. I was the only one there that night so he gave me a private room with a queen bed, which was very nice of him. I am looking forward to visiting again.

    Jim2019-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic value! A cozy place and so close to Garnet Hill for xc skiing and Gore for downhill.

    Xeliber2019-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place has a very cozy living room area with a pellet stove that makes winter evenings quite enjoyable. The kitchen amenities are there for cooking, bring whatever food you need including spices etc. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and you will not be cold in the winter! Quite sufficiently warm. Bathrooms have decent shower and plenty of hot water. If you are lacking in an amenity the host is great with response and delivery. The convenience to Gore Mt. is fantastic!

    Terri2019-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This might be the best value in the Adirondacks! This was supposed to be a bed in a hostel, but no one was there. The fine gentleman gave me a room for the same price - 5 miles from where I was skiing!

Dizzying views of the Hudson River! Sweet cabin modest in scale, simple and pure to not detract from the richness of the views, offering a fresh, invigorating sense of “just what is needed, nothing more.” The cabin was designed and hand crafted by its owner in 2017. The rugged primitive siding was harvested from on-site cedar trees; the knotty pine interior was locally sourced. Friends gifted a claw foot tub and historic farm house sink. Enjoy a hot tub experience in our new Japanese spa!
The living room offers incredible views of the Hudson River and the meadow below. There are leaded glass windows in the bay window, a large comfortable vintage sofa and simple decorations. The bedroom offers a queen bed with duvet covers and beautiful east facing views of the Hudson River. There is an antique vanity with vessel sink, antique oriental rugs and Asian artwork. The bathroom has a claw foot tub with shower hoop and glass vessel sink. There is plenty of hot water, towels and soap. The kitchen is fully stocked with stove, fridge, microwave and sink. There are beautiful copper pans to cook with, plates, glasses and silverware. This beautiful cabin is located hundreds of feet above the Hudson River and offers dizzying views and great privacy. The cabin is not set a top the highest point of the land, where it would be fully exposed, but partway down, allowing the woods behind to form privacy and to shelter the house. Gaze out at the wildness of the site from a sheltered spot. Enjoy spectacular views of the Hudson River, a cedar forest and wildflower meadow. There is a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. We provide dry firewood and kindling for our guests. Stargazing at night is amazing as there is no light pollution. Enjoy a hot tub experience! Built within a beautiful Japanese temple-like structure on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our all natural no-chemical hot tub is a delightful way to start your morning, relax after hiking or winding down after dinner. Available for a private experience for $25 for an hour of wonderful relaxation. Let us know if you would like to book. Join us for wood-fired pizza! On the upper portion of our land off Cemetery Road, we have a wood fired pizza oven. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon. By six, the wood fire has died down and the oven is about 800 degrees. From six to seven-thirty, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas. Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! Requested of donation of $8 ($5 for children) for firewood, dough and maintenance, please. Let us know if you plan to join us. Summers are wonderful with cool mountain breezes, nearby lakes and the Hudson River to swim, bathe or fish in. Fall is glorious with all the trees turning color. As for things to do in the area, there is white water rafting in the beautiful clean Hudson River right at the bottom of our hill offered by various kayaking companies, hiking spots galore, a nearby gorgeous completely undeveloped lake called 13th Lake, dining in North Creek or nearby Garnet Hill Lodge and great daytrips to nearby Lake George, Blue Mountain Lake, Lake Placid and such. A great deal of thought and energy went into planning this cabin. Like a tree grabbing a roothold in the slope, reaching down for water and minerals and arching up toward the available sunlight, a house must begin and grow from its site. When the design of a house has grown out of the uniqueness of the site, it will seem as natural and as integral a part of the whole as trees are a part of the forest. When the house becomes a part of the land, the site can be fully inhabited. This property is located at the end of a quiet country road and abuts forty acres of land owned by your host where we offer glamping tents and two other cabins. Please take a look at these listings and reviews to get a better sense of what we offer. The property is an easy scenic drive up 87 from NYC. If you arrive late, the house will be unlocked and lights on for you. MORE HISTORY: Since 1910, my family has owned 8 acres of land on the upper part of the land. When my great-grandparents built the original camp (Bird Camp), there were gorgeous views looking all the way down to the Hudson River. Then when people stopped owning grazing animals, and as it then became expensive to keep the meadows mowed, the trees grew up and the views were all lost. When 32 acres of land below us became available several years ago, with financial help from my brother, I purchased the land and over several winters, I had the property strategically logged to open up again the beautiful south and east facing views of Gore Mountain, Moxon Mountain and the Hudson River below. Originally I intended to return to my former business life I'd led downstate and to build vacation homes for sale. As things have worked out, my plan now is to build simple beautiful rental cabins and retain the property for retirement income, and so that I might leave an income producing estate to my daughters. I had an amazing winter of 2016 and 2017 building this camp. By December, the framers had completed the structure, the windows were in and I was able to keep warm with temporary heat all winter as I spent months happily finishing the inside of the "camp."
Camp HudsonView is located at end of a road which comes through a quiet existing neighborhood. Please drive slowly.
  • The cabin is spacious for two people, with everything you could possibly need for a great weekend. The view from behind the cabin where the firepit is even more beautiful than the pictures. Leslie was great at communicating with us, and brought us more campfire supplies when we needed it. We loved our stay!

    Rebecca2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place is amazing. The beauty outside is matched by the shabby chic/cabin and decor. Was surprised how close the neighboring cabin was, but it was so quiet it didn't matter. And, what a perfect place to step away from the chaos of every day life. Perfect getaway for adults, and dog approved too! Hosts made everything easy. Peaceful, soul cleansing...just perfect.

    Carey2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and cozy beds. Perfect to visit during fall.

    Myra2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie was a wonderful host. We had car trouble the first morning we were there and Leslie came right down to help us out. Yummy pizza and adorable dog! The cabin had a stunning view and the hot tub was very relaxing. Only wish we could have stayed longer than two nights.

    Shannon2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Magical and beautiful. So happy I got to stay here in the perfect fall weather right when the leaves change. I would LOVE to stay here again and recommend this place to all friends.

    Nicole2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect all around for a peaceful, woodsy-vibe getaway. Hudson Rviver, Hiking, great amenities... Leslie is a wonderful host!

    Allie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for somewhere to take in the Adirondacks look no further! Our cabin was perfectly situated with a stunning view of the Hudson River out our windows. The cabin was perfectly outfitted with everything we needed, including our own bonfire pit and overlooking the ‘Dacks with plenty of wood. While food in the area is less than expected, turns out you don’t need to go ANYWHERE for dinner at all. Leslie makes the most delicious pizzas in her homemade wood fired oven. Just remember to pick up a few choice ingredients to throw on when you are heading in and you’ll be all set! (We brought cherry tomatoes, broccoli rapini, fresh dill, and peppers 🤙🏻) Last but not least it’s a must to reserve the Cedar Spa after a day of hiking. Nothing feels better than slipping into the warm water and letting it all melt away! Such a lovely place to stay in a beautiful setting with a fantastic host. Wouldn’t pass it up!

    Juliann2019-09-17T00:00:00Z

Whether you are a skier, a snowshoe enthusiast, a stargazer, or just like reading by the fireplace, we are here to help you enjoy your stay in this winter wonderland we call home. We hope to see you soon!
  • Lin is an amazing hostess!! She is sweet and lovely and her place is welcoming, adorable and clean. She goes out of her way to make each stay special. We are already looking forward to coming back!

    Jennifer2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second stay with Lin and I'm positive not the last. Lin is one of the most friendly and intelligent home owners I've ever met. You feel like being home immediately when you enter.

    Alexander2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Look forward to a warm welcome and a cozy experience sitting by the fire chatting, sharing experiences and stories while savoring a beer or a glass of wine.

  • Thanks for hosting me again, Lin! Lin's place is extremely comfortable and clean. Highly recommended!

    Jim2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lin hosts the PERFECT rustic and cozy pine-cabin experience with heaps of hospitality!

    Paige2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • It is easy to see why Lin has been rated a 'super host'. You could not fault her airbnb and the care she takes to look after her guests. She has a great deal of local knowledge and a passionate commitment to the beautiful Adirondacks, the spirit of which she captures within her 'camp'. The building was one familiar to be having spent summers 60 ago just a short walk away. The neighbourhood kids all hung out together, including the original owners of Lin's place. So it was a marvellous walk down memory lane. So Lin, thanks for the hospitality extended to my nephew. I wholeheartedly recommend Lin's airbnb as comfy accomodation in North River to anyone seeking a real Adirondack experience.

Lovingly restored historic Adirondack Bird Camp is surrounded by wildflower meadows with beautiful mountain views. Located on family compound of glamping tents and unique cabins. Wildflower meadows to wander, a private firepit for star gazing and just down the road from beautiful 13th Lake. Enjoy a hot tub experience (summers only) in our new Japanese temple-like spa! Most nights in summer we offer wood-fired pizza. Close to rail biking, whitewater rafting and the town of North Creek.
Lovingly restored by the great-granddaughter of the original owners, this unique historic cabin still retains many original details and decorations. Many visitors say they feel like they’re stepping back in time. There are lovely leaded glass windows, a handsome rustic stone fireplace, richly stained wood walls, beautifully faded oriental rugs and original china. There is a tidy new country kitchen with reclaimed porcelain sink, new gas stove, fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils. Upstairs are two bedrooms each with a double bed, wide pine floors, and country décor. And at last --- after 100 years of our relatives using an outside “privy” back when this was just a summer “camp”, we have a bathroom -- clawfoot tub with shower hoop and beautiful vessel sink on original ladies wash vanity. Towels and soaps provided. The bathroom window offers the best view of the mountains. There are treasured family hand-me-downs as well as odds and ends which nobody felt comfortable throwing away. Like all family camps, there are bits and pieces of everyone who came before; wooden floors record the scuffs and scratches of generations. There are many photographs showing life at “camp” since the turn of the century. All this gives this Adirondack cottage its own special personality, a unique sense of space --- a treasury of feelings, sensations and memories of family and friends. The house sleeps four to six comfortably: there are two bedrooms each with double beds. On the glassed in porch is a single bed and there is a sofa in the living room. The land is truly spectacular. In summer, wildflower meadows spill down the hill, flanked by beautiful forests. We welcome your well-behaved dog as long as he or she stays OFF the furniture, isn't left alone in the house and stays on leash to protect our chickens and ducks. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our little mountain. In the spring, summer and fall, there is white water rafting for reasonable rates. You can also rent a tube and float down river (the nearby rafting company can rent you the tubes, then pick you up and then bring you back). Of course, the river offers fishing, bathing or just a great place to sit by and think. We have a happy lab dog Sammy who enjoys spending time with our guests. We have free ranging chickens (get some eggs from the henhouse) and sweet waddling ducks. Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. So make time to get away! It’s an easy scenic drive from NYC --- just go north right up Route 87, get off just past Lake George and then a beautiful 30 miles through the mountains to our place. If this cabin is booked, take a look at our cabins and glamping tents.
We have about 40 acres of land, much of cleared with amazing views, also pristine woods, a spring fed pond. There are several cottages on our property for rent and we can accommodate larger groups. We call ourselves the North River Hobby Farm. The area is very safe ... no bears, no weird neighbors and no ghosts in the historic cemetery next door.
  • A wonderful experience. Quiet, relaxing, and peaceful. Loved the claw foot tub, the bed was comfy and the fireplace is charming and was fully stocked with wood. It was raining so I didn’t spend time outside, but the grill and outdoor fire looked like it would have been great. And I LOVED the Japanese hot tub. Definitely book it each night you stay. Fabulous!

  • Great place!

    Ken2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cabin in a beautiful, quiet setting. Leslie is a fantastic and interesting host and she makes a great pizza. Lots to do nearby, you are not far from hiking or kayaking. Cabin is clean, and genuinely rustic. Lots of old family photos, books, board games and VHS tapes to keep you occupied if you don’t want to be outside. And probably more importantly, no cellular (Verizon) service so you can actually unplug and relax for once. My wife and I had a great time and will definitely return.

    Jason2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very much off the beaten path, and that was the best part. At night you could see every star in the sky. The personal touches with the original pictures being in the house were really interesting. The property is beautiful, and I really hope to stay again someday.

    Courtney2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Magical location. Great mix of private space with easy access to some really special shared amenities. The Japanese hot tub and pizza oven were both especially memorable. My young daughter loved feeding our food scraps to the friendly roaming chickens. Located within close diving distance to lots of outdoor adventures. A real retreat and escape from City living. A summer highlight!

    Karen2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun experience somewhere between camping and staying in an inn/hotel. Leslie's Hobby Farm is a real delightful place. We stayed in Bird Cabin one night, then Glamp Bernice the next. Both were unique and enjoyable, but I think we preferred the tent! We enjoyed (more than we expected) meeting the other guests, sharing pizza toppings and wine, sitting by the fire making s'mores, sleeping in the tents (or cabins) on a cool evening, and the beautiful setting of the farm. A highlight was waking up at 1 am and sitting out under the brilliant night sky, seeing the milky way and shooting stars. Kayaking at 13th Lake was also a highlight. Leslie and Emmeline think of everything and make the stay an enjoyable experience for everyone. We were even sent home with lavender bags and fresh peaches! We'll definitely be back. August 2019

  • A quiet spot with a beautiful pollinator field filled brimming with activity.

    Michael2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie's farm and the Camp Bird house we rented provided our family of 4 a home away from home. Our girls loved Sammie and the chickens. Pizza was delicious. Hot tub superb. Leslie is an easygoing and highly responsive host. Camp Bird provided us with just enough privacy and utter Adirondacks quiet that my wife and I needed. Day trips to Revolution Rail, 13th Lake for canoeing and swimming, Garnet Hill Lodge for dinner, North Creek for town items, Schroon Lake for beach time, and Adirondacks Extreme for tree climbing obstacle courses were easy.

  • Staying at one of Leslie's cottages or tents is like being part of a loving and fun community. The spaces are delightful, the location and views stunning. Pizza is a bonus, as is the Japanese tub. Excellent for a hiking trip, kayaking, fishing or just to get away and be in peace and quiet.

  • My friends and I were traveling South from Montreal and were lucky to stumble upon this cabin. Leslie and Emeline are very communicative and hospitable. They provided great tips and we had a great stay. Would book again.

  • Beautiful setting. The cottage is simple but comfortable and tasteful. Leslie is a friendly and knowledgeable host. We enjoyed the pizzas from her wood fired oven and meeting other guests. The entire place has a warm and welcoming vibe. Would definitely stay again.

The cabin has a double bed in each of the two bedrooms, bathroom with shower and living/dining area with a futon. The small kitchen has a stove, microwave and refrigerator. There is an enclosed porch with a picnic table and a charcoal grill for outdoors use. It is approximately a two minute walk to the private 10acre lake. Swimming is great here.
We are located at the end of a well maintained 1/4 mile dirt road. We are a five minute drive to rafting companies and Revolution Rail. North Creek has several fun restaurants; there is an information book located in the cabin.
"The Cabin" is located 500 yards from the end of "Ordway Pond Road", a dead end road on which there is only one other seasonal residence. The road is well maintained by the town during all seasons of the year. The Ordway Pond property is completely surrounded by forests and free from any highway or other noises except the frogs and other natural sounds.
  • The cabin at Ordway Pond is very well appointed and provided a very cozy retreat for our small family. The setting is breathtaking and a very good host. We would very much enjoy staying here a bit longer in the future, already miss it.

    Rob2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Small private and quiet cabin in a beautiful small town. The cabin was perfect and the pond was beautiful.

    Brian2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a cute and quaint space. It was perfect for me and my three friends to spend the weekend and do some fun activities. The location was absolutely perfect as it was just a few minutes from our plan to destination and the lake was right there. Is very clean and very private as well. Situated on a dead-end road it was perfect

  • A great piece of paradise. A wonderful and rustic cabin in the woods. The hosts were fantastic and stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed and even turned on the lights prior to us arriving in case it was dark before we arrived, very thoughtful. We hope we have a chance to stay again in the future.

    Ron2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location , in a great area with tons to do. The cabin is beautiful and just what you need to get started exploring the Adirondacks. A lake side view is a nice touch. Overall great host, very friendly and thoughtful!

  • The town of North Creek is adorable and only a few minutes from the private cabin! We loved looking at the stars by the pond and disconnecting from all distractions in our lives. The cabin was so clean and cozy. We grilled outside. We will definitely return.

  • Cabin is cute, clean and cozy. Towels, pillows, blankets and kitchen wares are provided. They also have a small firepit next to the house. It was cool hanging out around the place. There's also boat that we could use around the pond.

  • A stay at Dan’s is always wonderful. The cabin is welcoming, comfortable and clean and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The design of the spaces is such that you can really appreciate the beauty of the woods. This is my first visit in the winter and it was great to arrive to a plowed driveway and a warm cabin!

    Janet2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a weekend at Dan’s cabin, very cosy and comfortable, great for a family and not too far from Gore Mountain, we would definitely return.

    Rob2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and comfy! Dan was super responsive and shared lots of great tips. Well stocked kitchen and perfect for a family.

    Jessica2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really great space, lots of beds and the sauna is great and it is super easy to get to gore mountain from here. Dan was super helpful with providing directions to the cabin as when you get close there is no service and also provided a lot of great information about the area! Also the sauna was a great perk to have post snowboarding all day!

    Joseph2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed Dan's cabin in the woods. It was convenient to Gore Mountain skiing and Garnet Hill cross country ski facility. We enjoyed the sauna and the toasty wood stove.

    Melanie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, rustic home that is extremely clean and definitely feels lived in - lots of family photos :) Our family of five stayed here to ski for several days at Gore. The town road to the house has some potholes, so be cautious. Google mapped it exactly right, so it's pretty easy to find! There are four single beds and one queen; the queen is in the same room as two of the singles, and the upstairs has two more singles. You can push the single beds together, but they're not quite the same height so it's not exactly like sleeping in a queen. There are four thermostats, so you will stay toasty if you wish. There is a dishwasher and a washer/dryer, both of which we used while there. There is also a lovely sauna, which is a great perk. There is no television - well, there is, but it's one of the VERY old school ones from the 80s. :D The WiFi works well, so just bring a laptop and stream if you want to watch tv. The home has plenty of pots, pans, dishes, towels, etc. It has a lovely Adirondack feel, and we're very happy we stayed here. Thank you!

    Petra2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • That’s such a lovely private place: private, spacious. There is a pool table! And the wood burning stoves... the place is set to cook. And close to the lodge if you’d rather eat out. We really enjoyed this cabin.

    Marina2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked away in nature. Perfect balance between cozy and plenty of space. Using the sauna was an excellent perk!

  • Super comfy space with sparkling clean bathroom and very comfy bedding. Coffee with real milk was nice and they even left shampoo and body wash in case you forget yours. Also love the decorations! Very close to Gore mountain and if xc is more your style, Garnet Hill, which is where we went. Grocery store and a Stewart’s about 5 min away and very close to the highway. Very nice and quiet too. We have had experiences in the past where we needed ear plugs to sleep well. Here was nice and quiet! Oh and there is Netflix too :) Highly recommend!

At the edge of a wildflower meadow with mountain views, this beautifully furnished glamping tent has a king-size water bed, sofa and private deck. Each tent has a kitchenette in the Lodge. There is a sweet new Bath House. Enjoy wood-fired pizza and our new all natural wood hot tub. Get fresh eggs from our henhouse. 40 acres of meadows, woods, pond, streams and trails. Nightly bonfires, star gazing, a nearby lake and rafting in the Hudson River below. Golf cart service to your tent.
We have four glamping tents, Glamp Richard, Glamp Suzanne, Glamp Bernice and Glamp Thomas which are spaciously set apart for privacy yet an easy walk to the Bath House and the Lodge where each glamping tent has its own kitchenette. The tents have a “fly” over them so they stay remarkably cool during the day and completely waterproof. At night, zip up the canvas windows and doors, and stay cozy under handmade feather quilts. The new Bath House has a women’s side with two toilets, a shower and double vanity with glass vessel sinks; ditto for the men’s side. In the nearby Lodge, there is also a lovely new bathroom with an old-fashion claw foot tub where you can enjoy a deep bath with lavender salts. We provide nice towels and soap. In the Lodge, there are individual kitchenettes for each of our four glamping tents. It has a sink, one burner cooktop, coffee maker, compact refrigerator, dishes, cutting board, glasses, utensils, napkins and basics of salt, pepper, sugar. Bring your own coffee and cream. There are open shelves for you to store your groceries. Outside are several charcoal grills and a gas grill. We provide charcoal and lighter fluid. We spent the fall and winter of 2019 building an amazing all natural cedar hot tub. Located on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our new Japanese wood hot tub is a delightful treat for our guests. Built within a small post and beam temple-like structure with gorgeous views of the mountains beyond and wildflowers below, our spa tub is a wonderful way to relax during your stay. $25 for an hour’s retreat of happiness. Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon. By six, the wood fire has died down and the oven is about 800 degrees. Starting around six o’clock and ending about eight, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas. Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! Oh, most toppings should be sautéed in advance since the cooking time in the oven is so short. (Requested donation of $8 / $5 for children to cover costs of firewood, dough, etc). At dusk, we get the bonfire going so guests can relax in hand-built Adirondack chairs to watch the fire and the stars. There is no “light pollution” so it is an amazing experience to see thousands of stars, night clouds, moonscapes. Enjoy getting your breakfast eggs from the henhouse. Our flock of chickens and ducks are fun to watch as they free range all over the property. The ducklings enjoy it when there is fresh water run into their little swimming pool --- they are so joyous when they’re in water. The ducks are sweet but shy away from people (oh no! humans!). Unlike the chickens that wander all day and come back together to the coop only to sleep, the ducks are co-dependent and stick together all the time; if one duck is separated, they all quack until they get back together. So yes, country life can be noisy with the chickens cackling and the ducks quacking! And of course there is Sammy Dog, a lab/shepherd mix, who bounds around the property, visiting all our guests, laying down on the porch and steps waiting for people to come home. Be careful coming down the driveway because he sometimes leaps unexpectedly in front of cars all goofy and happy. He can come in and even sleep over if you want (just send us a text message so we know where he is). Our cabins are set up for visiting dogs, but unfortunately we cannot host dogs in the tents. The lake is three miles down the winding road …13th Lake it is called and it is just beautiful. Totally natural and quiet with no sign of civilization on its shores. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our mountain; clear beautiful water; you go tubing or rafting with the various rafting companies located right nearby. The town of North Creek is five miles away off the main Route 28 road but it’s easy to miss so look for the 3 or 4 signs that mark the entrance to “town”. North Creek is a scenic little town with some great restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store, some shopping places and a scenic train called the Saratoga/North Creek Railroad which takes folks in antique train cars along the Hudson River. Another great experience is nearby Garnet Hill Lodge, an historic lodge offering lunches and dinners … beautiful property, amazing views, great food. It’s located right up the road in North River. They rent mountain bikes and have all kinds of walking trails. Lots and lots more to do … check our online Guide Book for more suggestions! So .... Enjoy amazing mountain day views and glorious stargazing by night ... this might be the most special vacation you’ve ever had! Quiet and tranquil … safely and privately located at the edge of our Hobby Farm where you can enjoy a beautiful tent, ducks and chickens, and sweet lab dog. If you're looking for additional space, we have other cottages on the property as well ... Authentic Adirondack Bird Camp which has two bedrooms, Farmstand Guest House. Camp Hudsonview and our newest Camp TwoSome (each with one bedroom), all of which are listed on this site.
We own 40 acres of land so it’s very private and quiet, and safe! We have open meadows to walk, woods to explore and even the road we’re on is wonderful for walking; you’ll pass by some wonderful old cemeteries and farmhouses.
  • This was a pleasant and peaceful getaway for my wife and I.

    Nolan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful acres of land, beautiful well thought out, glamping tents. The lodge is a great place to cook, play games and enjoy with friends! We enjoyed the chickens and Sammy’s company and amazing wood-fried pizza from Leslie, plus the eggs for breakfast!!

  • I expected a lot from this AirBnB after viewing the posting... and it totally exceeded expectations! Our brief stay was packed with pizza, a campfire, chickens, and the beautiful Sento Spa. Leslie and Emeline were such warm and gracious hosts and made the experience truly memorable. This trip was too short, and I am now dying to get back! If you have the chance, definitely try some dessert pizza and take a much needed mini-vacation in the hot tub!

    Michael2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie’s camp was the best! Beautiful location and real fun experience “glamping”. The property has lovely touches — from the gorgeous flowers everywhere to the spa and wood oven pizza, everything was charming. And Leslie was a great accommodating host. She went out of her way to make my 18 month old son feel at home.

    Alyssa2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was such a relaxing experience. I came here for a solo trip to get away from my hectic life and it went beyond all expectations! The property is GORGEOUS with rolling meadows and cute animals. The tent i stayed in had the comfiest bed and a porch overlooking the forest. The kitchen area had everything I needed to cook a meal and also the wood fired pizza at night was delicious, which was cooked in a big brick oven and you could bring your own toppings. I enjoyed how quiet it was and the Japanese bath house style private hot tub was well worth the money. This place was a gem and I would totally return again.

    Emma2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We booked one of Leslie's glamping tents because we needed a place to stay for a wedding we were attending, and our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time on the property or in the North River area! This is the first AirBnB that made us both say "we would come back JUST to stay at this place again", so hopefully some day in the future we'll be back and have time to eat pizza or take advantage of the cedar spa! This is such a fun and unique experience, and everything was perfect. Even though it poured one night, the sound of the rain on the roof of the tent and the rumbling thunder was so soothing. We loved spending time with the various animals wandering around - the chickens are SO sweet and funny, and Sammy is such a friendly pup (but do heed the warning that she runs towards cars, even late at night!) The glamping tents themselves are super cool, not to mention spacious - the waterbed and its sea of pillows and blankets was a dream and it was so cool that our tent had a little front and back porch to relax on. You'll probably wonder what the shared bathrooms/showers are going to be like, but they are very clean and charming and even have space to keep your toiletries. Being in the area for a wedding I was also pleasantly surprised to find a makeup mirror in the bathroom as well! A lifesaver. We will definitely be back, for the unique and fun experience of the Hobby Farm itself, and for the little details that took it from "a great AirBnB experience" to "an AirBnB to come back to".

This delightful newly-built cabin with gorgeous beautiful mountain views offers privacy and sounds of the brook below. Camp TwoSome was built for just two (or maybe three) ... cozy, sweet and lovely. Located on a quiet road surrounded by woods. Elsewhere on our family compound, we offer a Japanese hot tub, on-site walking trails through beautiful wildflower meadows and most nights, wood-fired pizza. Close to rail biking, white water rafting and 13th Lake for swimming and kayaking.
Enjoy gorgeous views of the Gore Mountain range in this brookside newly built cabin. Camp TwoSome is a sweet “new old” cabin is modest in scale, simply furnished so to not detract from the richness of the views --- it offers a fresh, invigorating sense of “just what is needed, nothing more.” The cabin is located on a 40 acre family compound where we have four glamping tents and four cabins with plenty of privacy between each. There is a queen bed with duvet covers and beautiful east facing views of the mountains. Vintage oriental rugs, beautiful drapes and antique lamps. There is a cozy bay window where one could read, or sleep. The bay window overlooks a brook far below with a beautiful canopy of trees above. The bathroom has a nice shower and vanity. There is plenty of hot water, towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner for your use. The kitchen is fully stocked with a stove, an undercounter fridge, toaster, coffee making things and of course a sink. There are good pans to cook with, plates, glasses and silverware. There is a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. We provide dry firewood and kindling for our guests. Stargazing at night is amazing as there is no light pollution. Summers are wonderful with cool mountain breezes, nearby lakes and the Hudson River to swim, bathe or fish in. Fall is glorious with all the trees turning color. Let us know if you would like to book! Requested of donation of $8 each to cover the costs of firewood, dough and maintenance. Let us know if you plan to join us. The property is an easy scenic drive up 87 from NYC. If you arrive late, the house will be unlocked and lights on for you. ARCHITECTURAL NOTES: The cabin was designed and hand crafted by its owner Leslie and her small team of tradesmen during the winter of 2018. The rugged primitive siding was harvested from on-site cedar trees, and the knotty pine interior trim was locally sourced. The cabin is not set a top the highest point of the land, where it would be fully exposed, but partway down, allowing the woods behind to form privacy and to shelter the house. Gaze out at the wildness of the site from a sheltered spot. MORE ABOUT THE PROPERTY: Since 1910, my family has owned 8 acres of land on the upper part of the land. When my great-grandparents built the original camp (Bird Camp), there were gorgeous views looking all the way down to the Hudson River. Then when people stopped owning grazing animals, and as it then became expensive to keep the meadows mowed, the trees grew up and the views were all lost. When 32 acres of land below us became available several years ago, with financial help from my brother, I purchased the land and over several winters, I had the property strategically logged to open up again the beautiful south and east facing views of Gore Mountain, Moxham Mountain and the Hudson River below. Originally I intended to return to my former business life I'd led downstate and to build vacation homes for sale. As things have worked out, my plan now is to build simple beautiful rental cabins and retain the property for retirement income, and so that I might leave an income producing estate to my daughters. I had a wonderful winter of 2018 working with my small crew to build this camp. By December, the framers had completed the structure, the windows were in and I was able to keep warm with temporary heat all winter as we spent months happily finishing the inside of the "camp."
North River is such a beautiful, wonderful place! Picturesque, romantic, Adirondacks at its best ... People are always amazed at how beautiful our family property is ... I am very blessed to own this place, and enjoy sharing it with others.
  • Our stay was lovely! Wish we could have stayed longer and definitely will be coming back! I already miss Sammy!!

  • This place was beautiful (!), especially since we were there at the absolute peak of foliage behind the cabin and all over the area!! :-O Very cozy and loved seeing the deer behind the house, basking in the sun. Used the window seat a LOT, and so glad you included it when building the cabin!

Fantastic hiking steps away from your door with many trails with ponds and an abandoned garnet mine. The view in the pic is from a hike into the old garnet mine, the trail is steps away from the house. A short drive will take you to even more vigorous and scenic hiking. Gorgeous camping and kayaking on the no motor boat lake! Scenic road riding and great mountain biking right out your front door! Shopping and restaurants in nearby North Creek. Also nearby (10 min drive down the hill) are a ropes climbing course, paintball and best white water rafting and tubing in the glorious Hudson. Lake George is a mere 40 minutes south for water parks, awesome rock-climbing, parasailing, amusements and arcades, restaurants, mini-golf and ferry rides! Further north is the amazing Adirondack Museum with it's stunning tree-top feature. Great for sunny and rainy days (we have board games and tons of movies).
The neighborhood is Garnet Hill, a private community that is beautifully maintained in the Central Adirondacks, Most homes on 5 acre lots and owners tend to simply love the outdoors. You can meet the locals at the lodge's small tavern with a wonderful fireplace. The lodge restaurant serves local trout!
  • Shasta’s place is lovely with lots of great games, puzzles, and books. It feels like it has a lot of history and character. It’s location is ideal for cross country skiers, and Garnet Hill is a gem.

  • What a perfect location for Garnet xc skiers ... it is literally right on a trail that is just a few hundred feet from the ski shop, and just a 7 minute snowshoe on the ski trail the their lodge Yet it is very private and in the woods The layout of this place is very cool - the loft that opens to the living room was my favorite We plan to return... we are avid skiers and this place couldn’t meet our needs better

  • Great cabin

    Kevin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect Location in Garnet Hill. Private but just up a small hill from the ski shop. Very comfortable and warm, both the temperature and decor. I have loved Garnet Hill in every season for over 30 years, and this house is just the right size and layout for 2-4 adults (plus a few kids). I will definitely rent again

    Susan2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Shasta’a cabin. The location is unbeatable. And we got almost everything we need for our stay. Cannot wait to come back in the near future.

    Juan2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Shasta is an excellent host! Was super helpful, always kept the communication to be sure that everything was good, was like family. The place is gorgeous, amazing windows to the forest. The 3 days we were there, we don't even used the car, we did a lot of hiking, snow shoeing, was so much fun! you can find a lot of games at home, my daughter has so happy to play with all of it. Was really nice and relaxing.

    Luisa2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ritreata cabin is a warmly decorated gem in the Adirondacks. I loved the privacy of the trees on all sides, while being a short walk to the trailheads. If you’re looking for a secluded place to take in extraordinary fall foliage, look no more. Pick up some firewood on the way in and enjoy a bonfire out back. My favorite thing was definitely pulling out the reclining lawn chair and watching a meteor shower in the front lawn. When the lights go out this close to wilderness reserve, the night sky is dazzling. It would have been really easy to rent mountain bikes as the shop is at the bottom of the driveway. While the bathroom is renovated new, the cottage clearly has history as a special place for the Jensen’s. Thank you Shasta & all

    Nick2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ritreata exceeded all our expectations for a "base camp" during our week in the Adirondacks. Clean, warm, comfortable and only steps away from the trailhead. Shasta was a pleasure to communicate with, and could be reached easily. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin with us... hope to visit again soon!

  • This is a perfect place for a weekend of skiing. Just a few minutes to Gore. Lizzy’s downstairs was a great place for coffee and breakfast. Everything is very clean. My son and I will return here next year when we come back up for skiing.

  • Great little place to getaway to for a weekend at Gore. Things we loved about Kathy's place: it was clean - it was close to a grocery/liquor store - close to many restaurants of different styles and cuisines. Our favorite was the breakfast at Izzy's just downstairs from the apartment. - a great big jacuzzi tub to enjoy after a day on the slopes. Can't wait to get back!

    Robert2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely pleasant host. She Runs coffee shop on 1st floor so interacted a few times with host. Solid spot, great for Gore.

    Peter2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s place is great. So convenient to Gore mountain as it was only 5 min away. Unfortunately her deli was closed the days we stayed. It’s a cure little town. There are a few diner spots within walking and a supermarket right across the street. The hot tub was a great touch and was great after day of skiing !! We’ll be back.

    Rebecca2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy was a great host! Unfortunately we never met Kathy in person, however we did meet her husband, who was very nice and happy to hear we were enjoying our stay. Me and another friend from college traveled up from North NJ for a ski trip. We went to Gore Mountain which was at most 5 minutes away the BnB. The room itself was great, its a good bang for your buck, especially for college students staying here, or anyone who's looking for a room near Gore Mountain at a good price. Directions were pretty clear for the most part, took us about 4 hours to get there, had no troubles getting there. The location of her place is fantastic, it is located in the business district, there was a pharmacy next to us, a deli below, a grocery store across the street and plenty of restaurants nearby. We checked in Monday night and checked out Friday morning. It was pretty quiet, nothing bothered us, we would be leaving the room by 8 am to hit the mountain anyway, and the deli wasn't opened yet. Friday morning after checkout we grabbed some breakfast from the deli downstairs, got to say they have pretty good breakfast sandwiches! Overall it was a great trip, well worth it. I would recommend Kathy's place especially to college students who are planning a trip to Gore Mountain, or anywhere in that area of the Adirondacks.

  • The house is very clean and well equipped for a short stay, the sofa bed is so comfortable. Amazing neighborhood, very close to Gore Mountain. A very kind host!

  • Great location for gore mountain. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Good food downstairs at izzys also!

    Dan2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hudson Heights. We had everything we needed for a great weekend of fall activities! The place is very clean, the sheets were so soft, and the cookies left for us were a pleasant surprise! Jet tub and shower were great, bathroom is quite large. Extra sheets, blankets and pillows were left for the futon, which our kids slept on. Small fridge, microwave, toaster, and Keurig came in handy! There is a Tops grocery store across the street that was very convenient. We had lots of face time with Kathy and her husband, as they run the deli/cafe downstairs, which we visited often. They are both super nice and gave us great tips and recommendations of things to do in the area. Their food is amazing and we ate breakfast there every morning and lunch one day too. Cookies and baked goods are not to be missed! We did Revolution Rail bikes (within walking distance) and it was an incredible experience! We also drove Prospect Mountain, hiked the Pinnacle Trail in Bolton Landing, enjoyed Harvest Fest at Gore Mountain, and spent a day exploring the village of Lake George/doing the boat cruise. All in all, a wonderful Airbnb experience and a great home base for our fall activity adventures!

Five miles from Gore and right at the whitewater take out for the Hudson Gorge. Riverbeds looks out over Perry Ellers rapid right near where the upper Hudson comes out of the gorge and the rafting trips finish their 17 mile run. The 25 Acres of mountainside out back is pretty good snowshoeing or bushwhacking, please don't hesitate to ask about fun things to do outside right in North River The fun little ski town of North Creek is only 4 miles down river, business district is the first left.
The three "Private" rooms have very comfortable queen beds, one of the three rooms has two of these beds. The Bunk room has six xl twin beds. My father and I entirely renovated the space with all new rooms, floor to ceiling knotty pine, custom tile bathrooms and a kitchen with all the necessities and even a granite countertop. Out back is a fire pit area or and nearly an acre of lawn/space for outdoor games etc. Whitewater rafting, high ropes/zip line challenge course, paintball, rock climbing, canoeing/paddle boarding and more are available at my whitewater rafting company, aroadventures, next door.
North Creek is the closest small town, there are a number of wonderful restaurants and bars in the little town just at the base of Gore mountain.
  • Incredible hospitality and great hosts for our stay!!!!

  • Our stay was great! Dylan was a great host! Only negative was that there was no WIFI for a couple days due to a storm but that’s no ones fault. Otherwise great stay in an awesome location! We will be back for sure!

  • Great house! There’s a really large living room with plenty of room for the 14 family members that stayed there. There were a bunch of board games available too, which was a lot of fun. And it’s a super short drive (3-5 minutes max) to the ski lodge. We’d definitely stay there again.

    Katie2019-12-28T00:00:00Z

  • This was a perfect winter retreat! It was exactly as advertised and Lynn was great about getting in touch and providing very clear and easy directions for checking in and checking out. We walked to Garnet Hill to XC ski and Gore Mtn was an easy drive for downhill. The house is well appointed and comfortable for two families to cook, play games, and have separate spaces. Beautiful scenery and area too!

  • Lynn and Brian were great hosts! The place was cozy and warm and well lit when we arrived. It’s extremely spacious. Though there was only two of us there was plenty of room for more. Lots of extra amenities. And plenty of things to do that don’t involve being plugged in. A great Christmas getaway. Thanks to Lynn and Brian!

This is what a guest had to say. “We felt so comfortable as soon as we walked in the door, super clean, everything you need for your stay! The view of the river with the changing leaves was beautiful. This home is centrally located to so many wonderful scenic sites and close to Main Street in North Creek with great restaurants like Marsha's and Chrissy's as well as the rail bike at Revolution Rail Company. This is a location I will visit again soon and would love to rent this home again as the owner's are very friendly and accommodating!”
A truly unique property on the banks of the Hudson River, yet 3 minutes to North Creek by car. You can walk home from downtown North Creek in 15 minutes if you need to.
  • A clean, comfortable space– nice to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Worth a stay if if you're skiing Gore Mountain five minutes down the road...

  • Helene is very accommodating and communicative. Her house was clean and provided so much. Perfect house on the Hudson!

    Mary2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Helene's beautiful home and were greeted by the hosts. We were shown the home, how to utilize the entranceway, and the wonderful awning on the spacious front porch. The home is immaculate, spacious, and very, very well stocked. We spent one day driving the short distance to the Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake and had a great time. An enjoyable adirondack getaway!

  • Great place to stay!! We loved our stay here. The place was clean and bright. The sleep number bed was very comfortable! AC worked great! WiFi and cable were nice too. If we came to back to the area, we would definitely stay there again. There are several restaurants nearby that are open for breakfast and lunch. Dinner options are more limited, but it was nice being able to cook! If you do go, be sure to try the rail biking and white water rafting.

    Jennifer2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Helene is a wonderful person and so friendly I would recommend to others

    Kazi2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We love Helene’s house. So pretty on the river and super quiet. It’s a great alternative to the pricier hotels in North Creek. Highly recommend.

  • Our stay was great! Photo does not do justice to the house! Well kept, cozy and simple thanks to Debras fantastic hosting. Looking forward to our next stay here!

  • Beautiful place. Fireplace is double sided with one view in the living room, and another in the master bedroom. Very clean and put together. Cozy and welcoming!

  • Debra’s cabin is gorgeous! It is clean and you will feel at home!!

    Jenny2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This home was the perfect getaway spot in the heart of the beautiful Adirondacks! The property feels secluded because there are no other homes in sight, but the village of North Creek is an easy 5 min drive down the road where you can find good restaurants. Absolutely heavenly night skies... NO LIGHT POLLUTION.... only pitch black with the most beautiful twinkling stars you could ever imagine. Thank goodness for those little night lights in the bathrooms... for when you turn off the lights in the house....its DARK! Be sure to book a reservation far in advance for the Revolution Rail Company where you "bike " along the shores of the picturesque Hudson River. So much fun! This beautifully crafted, immaculate , spacious house is perfect for couples or a family with kids and is loaded with lovely amenities, and is in the perfect location to explore the many hiking trails in the vicinity. Check in was a breeze and Debra such a communicative friendly host. The beds were comfy, and the bathrooms very spacious and sparkling clean. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes , glassware and silverware. We did not cook either night...but I was impressed that there were plenty of pots and pans had we decided to cook in. I Loved the grand front to back wood burning stone fireplace in the great room/master bedroom. The front porch was such a lovely spot to enjoy morning coffee no matter what the weather. We were happily unplugged from emails and texts, due to no Verizon cell tower in the vicinity ( only At&T tower). Who needs technology when you in the Adirondacks to experience the beauty and serenity of the North Country! I recommend this property wholeheartedly!

    Jinx2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cozy space that definitely exceeded expectations, pictures don't do justice. Debra was easy to contact and she always responded quickly. Highly recommend.

  • This was my 2nd time staying at the cabin and again it didn’t disappoint! The cabin was super clean and very cozy. We watched a movie then made a fire out back and spent the night relaxing. Hope to visit again soon!

    Diana2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, nestled in the woods and snow, nicely secluded. Presidents Day weekend started of really cold, but the wood burning stove kept us cozy and warm. The house has stunning views and the road up there it self is so pretty too. 13th Lake is great to visit and walk around. We spend our days skiing at Gore Mountain which is a 18 minute drive from the house. Rebecca is quick to respond and left little notes throughout the house to explain how everything worked or where to find it. The listing is accurate and the view from the loft is just as beautiful as in the pictures. 1 thing to note for families with younger children, the masterbedroom is upstairs, the other 2 bedrooms are in the lower level, with the familyroom, leaving the living and kitchen in between. If you would like to sleep close to your kids, you´re better of all sleeping downstairs.

    Esther2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca was a wonderful host. Very easy to communicate with, we enjoyed our stay.

    Jill2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a weekend ski trip with 3 couples and one single and Rebecca’s place was perfect. Beautifully nestled in the woods and super cozy feeling. It snowed one night while we were there and we were a bit concerned about getting out of the driveway, but it was plowed before everyone was even awake! Would happily stay there again.

    Emily2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked in the woods, it's a short walk to trails for hiking or cross country skiing and there are plenty of maps in the house. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the wood burning stove keeps it cozy. Thank you Rebecca!

    Molly2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful house with stunning views of woods and sky throughout. There is a trail leading one of the most beautiful lakes we’ve ever seen. We happily lit fires in the wood stove at night, baked pies in a kitchen that had everything we could possibly need, and grilled lunches at the grill in the covered grill porch. Just sitting outside soaking up the surrounding nature was memorable. Great vacation.

    Greta2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We took our family of five for a week of Adirondack living. Our stay was amazing. By the first day we were making our plans to come back. This was the perfect place for us to see and do the things we'd been dreaming of for the last ten years. Within a walk or short drive we were able to swim and canoe in a pristine mountain lake, hike to the peak of a mountain for sunrise, and eat dinner at a lodge near a burning fire-pit while a classic rock band played cover songs and a silver-haired group of slightly tipsy birding enthusiasts danced together. On the one rainy day we lit a fire in the wood stove and experimented with a lentil stew in the open kitchen while the kids worked on one of the puzzles we found in the house. I have only good things to say about the house and the surrounding area.

    Samuel2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our week at Rebecca's place. The proximity to Thirteenth Lake was great. There were no surprises and everything was as described. Would definitely come back again!

Ride the train to North Creek and walk, bike or catch the shuttle to the newly renovated Riverview Run where you can spend the night in a private location with a view of the Hudson River across the street and a fire pit around back, yet you are still walking distance to the center of the village. It is much nicer than the pictures can show. It has a very comfortable full sized futon. Linens can be supplied for a small fee. There is a bathroom with a shower. The water heater is small but good for 2 showers if you don't linger. The water reheats relatively quickly. Equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, coffee maker and WIFI. • Perfect retreat for a couple looking to ski at Gore. Very pretty view as well with the river across the way and a rustic train car on the tracks. It was a 4 minute drive to the mountain and after a long day of skiing was nice to come back and relax. We went to Cafe Sarah and got some delicious coffee and homemade yummy treats delivered with a smile then had dinner down the road at Basil and Wick’s..which was very good as well..looking forward to going back and checking out some of the other local cafes and revisiting the tiny house.

  • This adorable tiny house had everything we could have wanted for a 3 night stay while x-country skiing in the area. Love the Adirondack style woodwork and decorating.

    Laura2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little house, perfect for two people. Central to Gore and lots of great hikes. The town of North Creek is kind of third world so be prepared to either drive 30 minutes to eat or come prepared with groceries because Tops sucks.

    Niousha2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is perfect for two people looking for a great ski weekend at Gore Mountain. It's just a 2 mile drive to the slopes and the downtown shops in North Creek are within minutes as well. The attention to detail in the decor makes this place feel homey, inviting, and definitely makes it a valuable find. The small kitchen is impressively stocked with pots, pans and utensils and we had no problem cooking breakfast and preparing lunches during our stay there. Lisa promptly responded to my questions. Excellent tiny home!!

Our cozy post and beam home is located in Garnet Hill in North River N.Y. near Garnet Hill Lodge, the cross country center and the private Garnet Hill association 13th Lake beach and boat launch. Gore Mountain downhill ski center is close by. The home's architectural theme is a rustic post and beam construction throughout. Our house's great location makes it a perfect retreat for anyone who loves nature as it abounds all kinds of outdoor activities including white water rafting on the Hudson.
I think our house is unique because of its post and beam construction , its coziness and openness and especially its spacious view from the kitchen to third floor landing and the peaked pine roof.
The houses at Garnet Hill are privately located on 4 to 5 acres of land. In most instances one can't even see their neighbors house. It is a very woodsy settlement. The private beach and boat launch is an added attraction along with the Garnet Hill lodge and cross country ski center. Hiking trails abound near by with the opportunity to climb the Balm of Gilead with its views of 13th lake and the northwest range. All and all there is lots to do to keep one entertained.
  • Our two families (8 people) had a great time staying at Charles’ place. Plenty of space, nice northwoods lodge, great location, and Charles was very responsive and helpful. Hope to visit again soon!

  • The house was perfect for our large family. We stayed for a long holiday weekend to visit family in the area. I really enjoyed the fireplace and the large dining table that we all could sit at. The family cabin feeling was the best part and we felt like we were staying as friends of the family. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Charles place is very nice, clean, quite and has a lot of rooms. We had a very nice stay there with our 10 month old son and our two dogs. The house has everything you would need for a vacation house, a lot of cook ware and home appliances. The 13th lake beach is a amazing spot to come for the day, there are also a lot of hiking trails around to explore. Charles is an amazing host, he is very patient and provide is very detailed instructions and all the help we need. Recommend!

    John2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lin's place is an authentic Adirondack cabin...which is exactly what we were looking for. It is warm, cozy and welcoming. Lin is equally as warm and welcoming and makes a great host. Although Lin's place is a great value, it is eclipsed by what Lin brings to the table as a host. We had a great time and highly recommend her and her home. Ann & Jim Gedney

    Nicolas2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lin was probably the most hospitable airbnb host we have ever had. She welcomed us into her home like we were cousins that haven’t seen each other in a few years. Her dog Rudy was very fun and got along great with our pooch. Her conversations were interesting and exciting. Lin is a very intriguing woman with great stories and insights. The morning breakfast made it hard to leave. We will most definitely be back soon.

Looking for a spectacular place near Gore? Stay in North River, a quiet sanctuary in the Adirondack State Park, a short walk from Garnet Hill Lodge and only 20 minutes from Gore. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities without ever getting into a car. Walk to the lake and enjoy full access to beach and dock. Ski in/out from our door onto miles of well maintained forest trails! Rentals are available at Garnet Hill Lodge, up the hill, famous for its extensive system of cross country ski trails.
This beautiful and rustic 3 story home is ideal for a large family or group of friends. The main floor is completely open, great for hanging out together, while other floors of the house offer more quiet and privacy. The screened-in porch is a favorite place for meals, naps, and morning coffee. All the benefits of the Adirondack air without the mosquitos and black flies. All 4 bedrooms are spacious, sunlit and unique. There is a bathroom on each floor, two with showers, one with a tub. The kitchen has plenty of counter space, a gas range, and an island that seats 4. The main dining area is adjacent. There is also a dining area on the porch. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities without ever needing to get in their cars - the beach and dock are a quick walk away, hiking trails and Garnet Hill Lodge also within walking distance, where you can rent ski equipment if you didn’t bring your own. We love our beautiful Adirondack house, and we spend a lot of time here. Ideal guests will understand and love that this is a rustic house, with all the ups and downs of what that implies. Our house is cleaned thoroughly before and after each guest, but since this house is a well loved home, much like the Velveteen Rabbit, it may appear rough around the edges. You may experience some dust and a few stains, but certainly no more than can be expected of a large rustic cabin in the woods. Stanley and Anne Moses, after whom the property is named, have spent each summer in these woods with the family. In fact, any holidays available to Stan as a professor in NYC were spent here in North Creek with his wife Anne. He was known well in these parts, and loved. It is in his generous spirit that Anne and all of us, his kids, wish to open our doors and share our wonderful home, Moses Second Heaven.
Our house is on Garnet Hill, a 10-15 min walk to 13th lake. It's a 15 minute drive from the town of North River, with it's grocery store "Tops", liquor store, and the incredible baked goods at "Café Sarah". Another 5 minutes and you'll be at Gore Mountain Ski Resort. We are fortunate to be close to a wonderful guest lodge - Garnet Hill Lodge. It's just up the hill from the house, and they have very good food and a charming bar. Ours is one of a handful of homes in the area, few households live here year round. We belong to an association of home owners granting us access to the beach and dock year round. As renters you will also have full use of the dock and beach, please BYO canoes and kayaks. Skis, boots can be rented at Garnet Hill Cross Country Center, within walking distance from the house. Cross country skiers can enjoy miles of ungroomed state trails, and for a fee can use the exceptionally groomed trails maintained by Garnet Hill Lodge.

At the edge of a wildflower meadow with mountain views, this beautifully furnished glamping tent has two queen beds and private deck. Each of our four tents has a kitchenette in the Lodge, and there is a sweet new Bath House. Enjoy wood-fired pizza and our new all natural wood hot tub. Get fresh eggs from our henhouse. 40 acres of meadows, woods, pond, streams and trails. Nightly bonfires and star gazing, a nearby lake and rafting in the Hudson River below.
Glamp Thomas’s kitchenette is located up a short flight of stairs in the Lodge. Gore Mountain Ski Center is off Route 28 in North Creek. Frequently they run the gondola so for about $18 a person, you can take the gondola to the top of the mountain …. Incredible views, beautiful fresh air, a lovely experience. All kinds of hiking at Gore Mountain.
We own 40 acres of land so it's very private and quiet, and safe! We have open meadows to walk, woods to explore and even the road we're on is wonderful for walking; you'll pass by some wonderful old cemeteries and farmhouses. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and beautiful ... no weird neighbors, no bears ...
  • Would recommend this beautiful spot to anyone! Truly amazing property and host! We loved our time and cannot wait to go back.

  • Our first glamping experience was amazing. The the tent was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The washrooms were close by, stylish and well stocked. Leslie was an amazing host. She has crafted a beautifully unique experience, from the hot tub/spa with phenomenal views, to wood fire pizza oven and fresh eggs from the free range chickens for breakfast. She has thought of all you could hope for out of a Glamping experience. We’d love to come and and visit again.

  • If you like to tent camp, but would like to try a "step up", try the glamping tents here! You're on a platform with a carpet, comfy beds with warm quits, electricity, lamps and a lodge space with a private fridge, a space to cook your meals and access to gas and charcoal grills & charcoal. The shared fire pit is stocked with wood and helpful fire starter and plenty of chairs to sit and enjoy conversations, drinks and s'mores. The night sky was simply beautiful! The pizza pavilion is really neat and I don't think I've had a pizza that yummy in a long time! Reserving a spot for the cedar hot tub is a must!! An awesome experience. We'd definitely go again!

  • Leslie’s place was gorgeous, we regret only being able to stay one night. Leslie was kind enough to stay up to wait for us. She showed us around and made sure we were settled in. The tents are big and spacious and waking up to the beautiful scenery was amazing. Had fun running around with Sammy the dog and watching chickens. Woke up early to roam around and visited the spa area which had amazing mountain views. We just didn’t have any signal up there but it was all good as we were able to connect with nature. Had our own little cooking area, the bath house was awfully cute, and everything was just very pleasant. It was a cold stay but not too bad. After snuggling under the covers, my friends didn’t wanna wake up. I had to play loud music for them to wake up and watch the sunrise with me. We definitely plan on coming back next year but this time to stay longer and definitely make use of the hot tub. Thank you so much and see you again!

  • Glamping was such fun, a great and unique experience. We just needed a place to rest our heads for the night and this piqued our interest. I wish I had done this with both of my kids when they were younger! The tents were well appointed, the bathrooms were perfect, the lodge was cozy and had everything you need to prepare your own food. It was fun to break bread at the pizza table with interesting people. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating. They’ve done a great job creating this charming retreat.

  • Better and cleaner than any hotel I’ve been to.

  • What an amazing stay! This was our second stay at Leslie’s, and 2 years later it was even better, we were so happy & surprised to see a new wood burning pizza oven , where Leslie and her daughter made the yummiest pizzas and we all sat outside and had communal dinner with other guests, and great conversation in a beautiful setting. Then we tried out the new teak Japanese hot tub which was absolutely gorgeous & can be privately reserved online (so easy!) with Mountain Views, and sparkling clean, so relaxing after a long day. The next day, we drove 5 minutes to a nearby lake she suggested and had a great swim. What a charming place, we intend to return at least once a year, a great getaway with everything you could ask for.
