  • Best place close to Burney

    Edward2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • We came to do a photoshoot at Burney falls and needed 1 night to rest since many of us were driving 5-6+ hours. I bumped my car on the curb ( 5mph) as soon as I arrived to the property and broke my radiator. There were no repair station nearby and my car could not drive out to the closest one in Burney. We arrived around 5 PM so most of the business were already closed and everything closes sunday. I let Tracey know of the situation and she was kind enough to provide me with an extra night stay. I ordered a new radiator from my city and my dad was able to drive 3 hours to help me fix my car. We got it running around 6 PM sunday night and was on our way. We end up not staying the extra night since some of us had school in the morning. As bad as the situation were, I am grateful for everything that happened because it could have been much worst. Thank you for making it a little better! Thank you so much tracey!! you're a life saver.

  • This cabin is in a great location to visit Lassen and the Mt. Shasta area. I couldn't recommend it enough! It was very spacious and clean space that was perfect for my group of friends. Tracey was very responsive and quick to resolve any issues we had. Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful location and great amenities. Tracey was a great host. This will be the location of our annual trip. Not one complaint.

    Shaun N April2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice house, with everything we needed (and even toys for the kids). We had a wonderful time with friends, and could enjoy a fire by the river and see amazing starry nights. Tracey was kind enough to let us use the power outlet to recharge our electric car, avoiding unnecessary stress.

  • We stayed here while visiting Lassen national park. It's very close to the northern entrance, and the place was great - comfortable, clean, well equipped. It's right next to a small creek and there's a fire pit to enjoy in the evening. For two families was young kids it was just perfect.

A country house in a country setting. So cozy it's easy to want to just hang out here all day but there's also so much in the area to explore! Our house is 14 miles from the north entrance of Lassen National Park and is only 1/4 mile from the famous Pacific Crest Trail. It is also a mile away from the Subway Caves, 20 minutes from Burney Falls and 25 minutes away from Lake Britton. Don't forget that it's within walking distance to some excellent fishing holes too.
Newly remodeled and cozy. Our home does not have a/c but we provide fans for your comfort. We also do not have a tv but we do have internet and there are some fun games and books in the living room that families can enjoy.
This house sits on a quiet street within walking distance to the only restaurant in town and some of the best fishing holes.

  • Very nice place conveniently located closer to Burney falls. Tracey was very responsive. We had a minor issue related to TV, which she got immediately fixed even though the temperature outside was -5°C.

  • This place is lovely and modern, while the creek right outside and the fire pit allow you to appreciate the great outdoors with ease. Tracey was also incredibly quick with communication when we had questions. The cabin is nearby to many of the can’t-miss parts of Lassen National Park. We stayed for just one night and look forward to a longer stay in the future!

  • good location, clean and neat

    Wei2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful. It was so close to all of the places we wanted to visit, had everything we needed for cooking/grilling our own meals (though we did do one breakfast at the cafe very close by), and was pet friendly. The house is beautiful and comfortable with great views including being able to hear the creek when the windows were open. It was easy to check in and out and they were quickly responsive (we had concerns about potential power outage affecting the area).

Enjoy the beauty and wonder of Lassen National Park while staying at our cozy, comfortable summer vacation home located in Lassen National Forest. The cabin has been converted from a garage with attached bedroom and bathroom. The spacious main area includes a kitchen, dining and living area. The best feature is opening the garage door during the summer so you can experience outdoor living. The indoor fireplace provides plenty of warmth at night and early mornings.
Nearby Hat Creek is famous for trout fishing. Lassen National Park is a scenic 15 minute drive south and Burney Falls State Park is 30 minutes north.
Located just off Highway 44/89 in Lassen National Forest, 4 miles south of Old Station, CA. Just steps away from Pacific Crest Trail, the cabin is situated on 1 acre surrounded by pine trees. Nearby Hat Creek is famous for trout fishing. Lassen National Park is a scenic 15 minute drive south and Burney Falls State Park is 30 minutes north.
  • We enjoyed our time at the cabin so much! The location is amazing, so secluded, yet just a few minutes drive from Old Station and nearby hikes. The cabin had everything we needed. The indoor fireplace kept us warm. We loved opening the garage door and looking at the trees from the cabin. Would definitely recommend it!

  • Nice and quiet place. I’d go back but next time take my family. I spent most of my time exploring the park but could have easily hung out here the whole time.

  • This place was great! A proper getaway whereby you can properly disconnect from the world and take in the amazing surrounding with no distractions. Loved sitting with the garage door open and just looking out into the forest. Great location so close to Lassen Volcanic NP. Kitchen was spotless and had everything we needed. Bathroom also very clean with a good hot shower. Rose & Linda also provided us with some great local tips of the area. Thanks very much! Would recommend.

  • Quiet and fun place to stay. Garage door opens up to expose the beautiful outdoors right before your eye. Tons of extras ❤️

  • This is a great place to stay when visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park. The place is comfy, easy to find (closest to the northwest park entrance), and nestled in a beautiful wooded setting. Spacious, and a well stocked kitchen make this a home away from home.

    Maria2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is truly out in nature yet filled with all of the comforts of home. We liked how close to Lassen NP the cabin is (9.3 miles) and made it easy to do daily adventures into the park. Rose and Linda are wonderful hosts.

Welcome to Kerb's Cabin, which is 45 minutes East of Red Bluff, CA. But it's much cooler at this 4,700+ elevation. Come relax or have some outdoor fun. We are 11 miles from the nations best kept secret, Lassen Park! Nearby are many streams/creeks for fishing or cooling off, trails for hiking, and lakes for water sports. Lake Alamanor is only a 30 minute drive away. And make sure to checkout my Airbnb Guidebook!
This 4 bedroom, 1 bath cabin has beautiful knotty pines throughout. The kitchen is open to both the family room and dining room. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, eating/ cooking utensils, a griddle, popcorn popper, toaster, blender, crock pot, Dutch oven, baking dishes, cookie sheet, pots, pans, mixing bowls, food storage containers, platters, measuring spoons, and a measuring cup. We also keep stocked traditional spices, sugar, flour, cooking oil/spray, and a coffee bar with coffee and creamer for your first morning here. The dining room has a table that seats 12! Plenty of room for food prep or to sit at and enjoy your meal, conversation, , games and laughter. We keep most of the kitchen ware in the dining room cabinets, along with some board games, cards, a small portable karaoke machine, and numerous VHS movies. Yes, I said VHS! We don’t have cable TV. We don’t miss having cable TV or WiFi because there is so much do do and explore outside and in the surrounding areas to keep us busy during the day. The bathroom and one bedroom, the “Rustic Rose”, with a queen size bed are on the main level, with the other three bedrooms upstairs. The bathroom has a toilet, single sink, and shower. There are plenty of hooks in the bathroom, and some in the bedrooms, to hang your towels and other personal items. We have many towels for your use and a few older towels at the bottom of the cabinet for you to use if you go to the lake. The bathroom does not have an outlet. However, I have conveniently hung a mirror in each bedroom and made sure that there is an electrical plug close the the mirrors. You enter the “Camp” room, which has the 3 twin beds, when you get to the top of the stairs. The “Bear” room, is through a doorway to the left, and the “Fishing/Hunting” room is through a doorway to the right. Although the the “Camp” room does not have windows, it is plenty bright with the lights on. There is no AC at the cabin. At a 5,000 foot elevation, the temperatures are usually about 20 degrees cooler than they are in the valley (Sacramento, Redding, and surrounding areas). During the summer the night temperatures sometimes drop to the 40’, 50’s and 60’s, which make not having an AC, not an issue. If we feel that the “Camp Room” upstairs is a little stuffy in the evening, we open up the windows and doors to the rooms on each end of the cabin, to let the air circulate. We also have fans in each bedroom. For those those of you that prefer a toasty room, we have small space heaters in each room as well. We keep an emergency ladder, in both bedrooms with windows, upstairs in the event of an emergency. They are stored either under the bed or under the dresser. There is also a fire extinguisher at the top of the stairs and one downstairs just off the kitchen. There are smoke alarms in all rooms. In the event of the rare power outage, we have stored a flashlight in each bedroom in either a nightstand or the top drawer of the dresser. Please familiarize yourself with these locations when you arrive at the cabin. We have a small size washer/dryer in the bedroom downstairs. I will supply a couple laundry pods for you. Enjoy the serenity of the pines out back on the deck, which is 640 sq ft! There is a table out back and a gas BBQ for your use. There is also a sitting area to enjoy your morning coffee as well. You will find the fire pit just off the deck. There are no stairs to enter the cabin and there is plenty of parking on the property. You can easily fit 5,6, or more vehicle in the driveway at once.
Please copy & paste this link, kerbscabin.tumblr, to see your local amenities, attractions, & emergency services.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! It had all of the amenities we needed, including a gas grill, a beautiful fire pit with wood, and a full set of kitchen appliances and supplies. The cabin even came stocked with lawn games, board games, and movies! It was about a 30 minutes drive to the national park and close to a ton of other recreational areas. Monica was very helpful and gave us a lot of tips on where we could pick up things like groceries and snacks and where to go fishing, kayaking, and hiking. The cabin was in a small little neighborhood of other cabins, but it still felt very private without being too isolated. All of the neighbors we talked to were really friendly! There was wifi at the cabin, but it was pretty slow and no cell phone service in the area. You could load directions and do some basic searches, but not much else. Overall, this cabin was really wonderful to stay in and definitely a great deal for the price!

    Katie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Monica Cabin for 4 days.. Actually 5 days she gave us 1 free day.. Her cabin is absolutely amazing beautiful. Pictures in listing don't do justice to place at all. So serene and beautiful. Deck and fireplace in back are absolutely gorgeous and best highlight of home. Home is stocked with all the amenities and we loved it. Its so close to Lassen and lake Almanor. We would defiantly visit the Cabin again. Its become my favorite cabin. Place is spectacular.. Monica is amazing host to give you all the details .

    Gunjan2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin and very thoughtful host.

    Pooja2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Overall a great experience. Monica is a welcoming and responsive host, although she lives offsite and we never met in person. Cabin itself is great. Quiet little neighborhood in the woods where many of the surrounding houses are also vacation homes, although some appear lived in year round. Relatively close to Lassen Park and Lake Almanor. Great deck with easy to use grill. The kitchen is very well stocked for those who want to cook. Lots of nice touches like a blower to get rid of pine needles on the deck, tupperware and ziplock bags to store food, info on what amenities are nearby, etc. No streaming video or cable TV but there are a ton of vintage VHS tapes with something for everyone in the family! The hosts recently did add wifi so there is light internet access and there is a landline for emergency calls. A few things to note- the house can be quite dark, although we were out during the day so this wasn't a problem. The middle bedrooms in particular are very dark since they are under a steep metal roof and have no windows. The hosts have set up lamps in every room and the decor has a very cozy-cabin-in-the-woods feel however. Although there are enough beds to sleep at least 7, there is only one bathroom and it is shower only (no tub) so things could get tight for large groups. No air conditioning but at 5000 ft I doubt it gets very hot even at the height of summer and each bedroom does have a small fan. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house and the host to others.

    Wei-Bing2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time here. The cabin was in a beautiful location and accommodated our whole party. Thinking of coming back for another vacation in the future.

    Maria2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The property was exactly as described! The hospitality was exceptional! Easy check in , and Monica communicated to insure our comfort during our stay . She provided valuable information of the area which added to or enjoyment.

    Dennis2018-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • House is exactly how it is pictured. We loved our stay. We had few requests and Monica was accommodating of those. She was always in touch with us and made sure the check-in process and stay went smoothly. Lot of board and card games in the cabin.

    Anik2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Monica’s house was grest. Super location for Lassen Park. Very quiet and peaceful. Neighbors in other cabins pleasant and helpful. Monica added special touches and we loved having the coffee bar. We would highly recommend this cabin and host.

Mary Lou's Town house is a 1930's town house with fenced in yard. It is walking distance from bars and restaurants. Fall River Lake is three minutes from its location. Your perfect get-away log cabin retreat. Relax in this newly built log cabin on over 3 private acres of land and at an elevation of 4,300 ft. The cabin has a huge master loft with a large private bathroom and media area. The loft also has a balcony that gives you amazing views of the surrounding trees and is the perfect place to listen to birds and watch wildlife. The cabin is ideal for a couple, small family, best friends, or an individual looking for a personal retreat in the forest.
For entertainment, I have a TV (no cable)/DVD player with a selection of movies, board games, and reading material including a few books and magazines. There is timber land at the back of the property with plenty of trails to walk or ride a mountain bike (if you bring one). Lassen National Park is a short drive away. Also nearby is lake McCumber. I have a wood burning stove inside that you can use for a fire. Absolutely NO FIRES outside. There is a fire ban in effect, thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
This is a quiet neighborhood of upscale homes. Even though the cabin sits on 3 acres at an elevation of 4,300 ft, there are neighbors nearby. Please be respectful.
  • Picture a magical woodland getaway; Alison’s cabin is right out of your imagination. It was hard to tear ourselves away from relaxing at the house and enjoying the majestic tree views through the large windows, but we also took advantage of the easy 15 minute drive to Lassen National Park for some winter hiking. Alison was the perfect host and gave us all the information we needed. We can’t wait to return and enjoy the cabin in all seasons!

  • The cabin is wonderful! Very quit location with miles of logging roads behind. You will enjoy best of both worlds: a lovely quiet location and a cabin in the woods that is luxurious!

    Lee2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • “I don’t want to leave” This was said over and over by my wife on our 40th anniversary stay here, and my sentiments were identical. What a special place of Peace and Quiet. There was nothing missing in any category. We enjoyed 4 days of reading and listening together to audiobooks as we watched the fire. One night we decided to watch a movie and I was particularly pleased that the decent sized flat screen was paired to a Klipsch speaker which sounded excellent, and miles ahead of the TV speaker alone - a nice touch that could have been skipped but wasn’t. We were initially expecting the loft sleeping area to be a cramped add-on to the cabin, but we’re amazed at the space. The TV area is upstairs in the loft along with a spacious sleeping area and huge master bath. The TV area was large, and a nice couch with 2 recliners built in was perfect, and with the TV off was an excellent place to read. But most of our reading was downstairs in front of the fire, or out on the deck in the rocking chairs where the sound of the wind in the upper branches of the trees was so calming. We did try out the hammocks, but weren’t in the mood for napping - but they were very functional. The only niggle was how to write a review that was honest without also making it more difficult for us to book this wonderful place in the future as others will want to discover what we have discovered. What a hidden gem this place is! Alison was quick to respond both before and during our stay. We have Verizon phones and were easily able to surf, get email, and use social media. Streaming was out of the question, but we felt that was a plus, as it kept us in a mode more conducive to enjoying each other’s company. Again, a serious gem that we were truly thankful for.

    Dan2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend this cabin enough. Its clean, cozy, and so thoughtfully appointed, it's like Allison thought of everything. There were games, guidebooks, hammocks, firewood, extra pillows/towels/blankets, a bed for our dog, a selection of teas and oatmeal, soap and moisturizer, i mean i could go on. We felt so taken care of! Allison was quick to respond to texts and always very sweet. We will definitely be back.

    Megan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Alison’s cabin was so beautiful and magical. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend my birthday weekend. The location is amazing for anyone who loves nature. My two top highlights would be spending my day reading in the hammock and at night relaxing by the indoor fireplace. Can’t wait to book another stay at the cabin in the future.

    Marisa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin and location was amazing! We did a lot of hiking in Lassen as well as drive up to Shasta. Would definitely recommend Alison’s cabin for anyone looking to unwind and unplug.

You have access to public bathrooms, coin operated showers, washers/dryers and all other amenities offered by the park. Guests from all backgrounds are welcome here.

There is a bench overlooking the lake and a few picnic tables near the creek. Shared bathrooms are just steps away. All toiletries like shampoo, soap, toilet paper are provided.
Lassen Volcanic National Park is only 15 miles from us. Shingletown is about 2 miles away. It's a very small town but there is a Market with Deli, Dollar General store, Gas station, Pizza place and the Bar. Explore and plan your trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park, Whiskeytown and Shasta Lakes, Shasta Caves, McArthur-Burney Falls and more!
  • The Tipi was a very unique and fun experience. The bathrooms are right next to it and easily accessible/well-kept (just bring quarters for the shower). The tipi was furnished and the hosts provided lots of blankets and towels, but if you’re planning on visiting during a cold snap, a sleeping bag is a good additional layer to bring. Would definitely come back as the campsite was a very convenient location relative to all the places we wanted to visit (Manzanita Lake, Burney Falls)

  • This place is wonderful!! We were suppose to stay I the TeePee but sadly it had rained the day before and it was wet inside.. so they upgraded us to a cabin! We were so thankful we didn’t end up having to stay in the wet and cold TeePee! This is definitely a place I’d like to come back to!

    Megan2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The teepee is a really neat alternative to tent or cabin camping. The bed was comfortable, and it was lovely to fall asleep to the sounds of the forest! The grounds are nice, and although it is fairly rustic, the amenities were more than enough to be comfortable for the one night I was there. I recommend arriving in daylight hours if possible, as it is somewhat difficult to locate in the dark (although I was given detailed directions over the phone before my arrival, which helped a lot!). The grounds are a short drive to Lassen Volcanic National Park, which was my destination the next morning. Bring quarters for hot water in the shower!

    Genevieve2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. Spacious, comfortable, clean, towels and bedclothes included with extra sleeping bags in case of cold. Definitely we would recommend it for the next stay.

    Jerzy2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The teepee was exactly as described. Clean site. Bathroom is close to the teepee site and quite convenient. Clean and spacious bathrooms. 2 Camp chairs were provided in addition to the picnic table and fire pit. Lots of blankets and a sleeping bag were provided in case you need more. We were fine with the bedding and blankets on the bed. Please note there is an opening at the top of the teepee. We were fine as there was no rain. But if it rains heavily, not sure if one can stay completely dry. Lanterns were provided and were nice to have inside. Bring clips so you can easily and securely close the entry way. There was cell coverage at site so we could use our smartphone on site. Overall, it was a fun and comfy stay!

    Michelle2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very good night in the fresh air of the teepee, very comfortable inside. Made a campfire, which was cool. Resort very quiet, which was a bonus. Friendly staff and go for a freshly cooked burger at the local shop.

    Enrico2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't get to stay in the tipi because of the wet conditions but I got to look inside. It was super cute and I definitely plan on giving it another try next time! The rest of the camp is very well kept and I was surprised by the quality of the bathroom. The two bedroom cabin i was upgraded to was also a great place to stay!

    Katey2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our stay in the teepee. It was clean, comfortable, and cozy. All the amenities you need are just out your door. Thanks to Peter for hosting us.

This artsy escape is a surprise in this extreme NorCal mountain town with an elevation of 3,600 feet. The small town has modern conveniences with a 50’s appeal. Just four blocks from town the house is on a quiet lane tucked near the end of the street. Inside Light airy chic decor is punctuated with technology. Pluck an apple from the backyard tree unlock your private gate and lounge by the creek while you enjoy wide open vistas with 7,836 foot mount Burney ever looming in the horizon.
Burney is an outdoorsman’s paradise famous for its world class fly fishing I can hook you up with an expert guide or tell you where they’re biting. Just 10 minutes from town is McArthur Burney state park where Teddy Roosevelt proclaimed the waterfall to be the 8th wonder of the world but word of this under explored extreme NorCal locale is getting out because last year our beloved waterfall was chosen by the Travel Chanel as one of the world’s 8 best ‘hidden waterfalls’. I can provide ‘secret’ directions to enter the park (free of charge) along the PCT-Pacific Crest Trail where you’re likely to bump into hikers who are are halfway between Mexico and Canada on this iconic 2,650 mile trail. Forty-five minutes south and you’re at Lassen National Park and if you’re fit and want a challenge take the day to ascend 10,463 feet and marvel at views all the way to Nevada. No need to drive to Reno to gamble the town has the Pit River Casino with live music and the ‘loosest slots’ in California. As an avid explorer myself I have scads of adventures from remote natural hidden hot springs to little known waterfalls where you can witness the thrill local freestyle cliff jumpers doing ‘gainers’ into shimmering spring fed pools. For a once in a lifetime experience I can hook up my guests with a local pilot for a birds eye view of wind turbines and even Lake Shasta. For below ground wonders there are several caves in the area where you can go spelunking including remote Lava Beds National monument where the last Native American War played out a land which in WW II became Japanese internment camps. Of course this is also the land of Ishi the last of his Yahi tribe. All around Burney Native American lore mixes with old west history, a place so unique that some locals don’t think we’re in California anymore you will see proclamations through bumper stickers and signs that in fact you have entered the Great State of Jefferson. No matter what you call this part of California it is remote definitely off the beaten track but rife with fun and adventure. Please note the back bedroom is not a dedicated bedroom, but is a fold out futon with micro-fiber bedding ordered specifically to fit and it's in the hall linen closet. Also, because the space is perfect for pets (fenced front and back yard) I have decided to open it up to pet owners with a $50 fee.
Ontario Ave where my home is located is a modest home in a super safe and quiet neighbourhood four easy walking blocks to town past well kept tidy homes and as most the homes are owner occupied it’s a nice mixture of families and retirees. If you’re going to ‘live like a local’ this is the house for you. My home in particular is coveted for the big green backyard with the best unobstructed view of Mount Burney combined with the direct access to the creek which you almost always have to yourself and you will see why everyone on the block loves my casually elegant mountain escape.
  • Before booking this place, I wanted a different place but it was incredibly expensive so I didn’t book it. My husband and I just wanted a place to sleep because we planned to hike so I booked Shannon’s place. We arrived at night and found this place to be better then we thought!!! It kind of felt like we were coming home. It was cozy, had all the amenities we needed, and was close to Safeway, McDonald’s, and restaurants! Tip: Eat at Anna’s Kitchen for breakfast and have Chinese food from Dragons Palace at night. That’s a solid day. The place was clean and the bed was super comfy. If you’re here to enjoy burney falls it want local tip to get to an amazing hot spring, stay with Shannon. She’s got you covered.

  • Shannon’s place was awesome. Her home was down a little neighborhood street, there were kids with bikes and it was nice and quiet. She left a great binder to guide us around and her recommendations were on point. Great stay, and Burney Falls is totally all it’s cracked up to be. Amazing

  • Shannon is super helpful and provides many great tips about the area. Her house was clean and had everything I needed. The location was great for my purposes which centered on Lassen Volcanic NP and Lava Beds NM. This is a great location to use as a base for visiting these and other areas. I visited the falls in Burney and was not disappointed. They were beautiful! I would stay at Shannon's again if I were in the area.

$100 double occupancy. $50 for an additional guest. Minimum stay on weekends is 2 nights, on 3 day weekends min 3 nights. Immaculate, cozy, 28 foot 5th wheel on 3 acres in beautiful, forested Hat Creek, CA. My rates are a little higher because you will be treated with 5 Star Service! A light breakfast is included. A boxed lunch is available upon request for small additional charge. Evening Happy Hour, I include wine or beer, appetizers, and a light supper.
3 forested acres in lovely Hat Creek, CA. The Dragonfly Den is a new venture for me. This is my first time listing a property and being a host. It is available to rent now. Bear with me. I will be adding more details. In the meantime if you have any question please feel free to ask :)
Fly-fishing, Lassen Volcanic National Park, Burney Falls, Mt. Shasta, Fall River, Pit River, SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence), Lake Britton, Subway Cave, Hang-gliding Hat Creek Rim, Fall River Golf, and much more!
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Dragonfly Den! Sheryl was an outstanding host and anticipated our every need. The check-in process was easy and the RV was so clean with attention to detail in every corner. The space felt spacious and was more than enough for the two of us. My husband is 6’5” so it’s easy for spaces to feel cramped, which was not the case here. Having the opportunity to eat a home-cooked meal was a welcome option, especially since it’s a pretty rural area and outside dining options are few. We enjoyed a fun movie night thanks to the Netflix subscription. We stayed here while on a road trip up to the west coast and would highly recommend it to couples on the road- from Lassen Volcanic National Park to Crater Lake National Park especially. We’d be happy to return another time and have nothing but good things to say about Sheryl and her space!

    Allison2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sheryl was an amazing host! She made our stay unique and special. Her attention to detail was perfect, from her dragonfly pillows to her homemade quiche. Sheryl was generous and really went out of her way to make sure all our needs were met. Sheryl was extremely friendly and was available if you wanted conversation. She made us feel like family! Sheryl took the time to inquire about any food allergies as well as likes and dislikes. Her food was healthy, delicious, and plentiful! She provided lots of drinks and snacks, and then some! The location is beautiful and we spent many hours enjoying the surroundings and watching her large hummingbird family. The host is vey knowledgeable of nearby attractions; we went to Burney Falls, Subway Caves, and a drive through Lassen National Park. The sleeping arrangements were extremely clean and comfortable. We had plenty of blankets; heat and A/C was provided if needed. I feel this host has put her heart and soul into her Dragonfly Den! We loved every minute of it! P.S. I recommend purchasing her picnic lunch. It was delicious, plentiful, and convenient. Perfect for taking on an outing anywhere in this beautiful area. You will not be disappointed!

    Nancy2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sheryl is a great host, she does her best to make you comfortable and supplies ample snacks and beverages including wine and beer. Suggest you make every effort to communicate your desired meal times as you won't want to miss her cooking! Highly recommend....

  • Perfect, peaceful location between many points of interest within the Lassen National Forest area. Very comfortable with my stay and Sheryl was amazing with the hospitality.

    Luis2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We found that the location of Sheryl's Dragonfly Den was perfect. It was close to a lot of good places to see and places to go. I especially enjoyed Burney Falls and the Subway Cave. We spent a fantastic day wandering around Lassen National Park and it was a relatively short drive away. We were made to feel just like friends rather than guests. I would highly recommend this location and we will stay there again when we are in the area. Food and beverages were great, the unit was as nice as any we have stayed in and I really liked the rural location.

    Tom2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very good communication. Extremely generous in everything she offered. Full of amenities (toiletries, towels, pillows, etc) Spotless. Abundance in food and drinks (wines, beer, sodas, water, etc) Very comfortable bed. Good shower. Air conditioning worked great. Plenty of cross ventilation with open windows. Her cooking was superb, plentiful, and she was very flexible with any requests, always looking to make our stay great. We left feeling very happy about our stay in her RV. The quality that she provided was very high.

I am located 30 easy miles East of Redding off Hwy 44. Actually it is a small room with a full size bed in my single wide trailer shared with me. Doesn't sound appealing but extremely clean in an old fashioned decor. Many beautiful walking paths too! MUST LOVE DOGS as I have many which means guests can bring theirs. 1.67 well fenced acres. Two tent spaces. About 16 miles from Mt Lassen National Park. Many fishing spots as well.
My deck is a sturdy and large cedar adorned with flowers and rustic antiques. I've been here 16 years and love it! My single-wide trailer is in excellent condition and I am so happy to share my little room. I try to keep a low profile so guests can have some privacy. Just a warm, comfy bed and a bath or shower. Cook a meal,....I love left overs!
I have an EXTREMELY eclectic neighborhood. Some quaint cabins and other worn out properties. One bad egg with his own junk yard that one has to pass. KOA behind me. The market in town has a great deli and I'll have coffee if you like in morning.

Park the trailers and supplies on the 1/3 acre lot to house more first responders. 4 minute walk to the hospital or airport; features a claw foot tub, faux fireplace, and sprinkles of tacky decor. Fenced in private patio for the pets, daily briefings, etc.
Ever wanted to take a bath and watch the latest episode of your favorite reality show in total isolation? Fastest internet in town (NBD) and two TV's. There’s a fireplace, with cool features, kitchenette space and BBQ, and a great backyard patio. The perfect space to wind down after a nature fueled day.

It is perfect if you are fishing for they have a gated, easy access yard to keep a boat in. 1 minute Walking distance to restaurants. • From the road one wonders what is this place, but inside it is very charming. Also Chelsea is very responsive, pg&e turned off the power and she was very concerned for us. The road noise may be the only draw-back for some. But overall, a very nice experience.

  • Stayed here for one night while visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park. The cottage is really cozy and well-thought through - it had everything we could have hoped for. We even got to borrow a kettle grill, AND we could charge our EV over night (could plug in our trickle charger in a 120V outlet they had on the property). Would recommend if visiting Lassen, the only surprise for us was that the closest road to the Visitor Center was closed during winter, so we had to go around to get there (so during summer this place is even better for visiting Lassen).

  • Cute cottage close to Lassen and Redding. Great getaway! Great communication with host. Would definitely stay again.

  • The cabin was comfortable, well outfitted with kitchenware, towels, blankets, etc. Mary is a gem if you need anything! The resort is well located to the National Park & beyond. We had no issues or problems.

  • This cottage is just fantastic! Perfect location, about 20 minutes from the north entrance of Lassen, easy to get to the park! We loved hanging out by the campfire every night and the cottage itself was clean and cozy. Thanks!

  • Excellent base to explore Lassen NP. We really enjoyed the quietness and cleanliness of the cottage. It has everything you need to shut off from the busy city and relax.

  • My family and I had a great time here. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having a campfire under millions of stars!

  • This is an adorable cabin! The decor is great and the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking or baking. And there was a great fire pit outside. The bed was very comfortable, I slept great with the sound of the creek outside the window. I spent my days in Lassen Volcanic National Park and this spot is very convenient to the park. Overall a beautiful spot and one I highly recommend.

  • Joseph and Jillian's place was amazing. It is a steal in terms of the amenities provided and proximity to Lassen. It was sparkling clean, the stove and kitchen had absolutely everything you need for a weekend or week of camping. The restaurant is super close and they are fantastic hosts. Would not change a thing. Will highly recommend this place to friends!!!

  • Our cabin had two good size bedrooms that lead into a hallway and full bathroom. The common area had a great kitchen that had everything we needed for cooking and grilling. Outside was an extra treat with a fire pit, grill and comfortable seating area.

    Carlos2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were only here for a night, but we had a great stay! We arrived pretty late, but everything was ready for us, and the clear instructions made check in easy. It was pretty cold at night, but the beds were extremely warm, and the place was cozy. And the breakfast the next morning at the restaurant was amazing! I'd definitely stay here again if I'm ever back in Lassen.

    Zachary2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! We had everything that we needed in our cabin and were very comfortable. Beautiful and cozy - we only stayed one night and wish it had been longer!

Newly remodeled, fully furnished home, with a cozy cabin vibe. In the historic mountain logging town Westwood. It's the perfect place to stay when your visiting the Lassen\ Plumas area. We are close to Biz Johnson Trail, Hidden Lakes Trail, Lake Almanor, Eagle Lake, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and lots more.
  • This place is super cute! Loaded with fire wood for the nightly bonfire and close to so many out door activities. The people in all the town's around showed amazing hospitality and really helped us to have a great time out there. The weather was warm and sunny so we 4wheeled into some great hiking spots. If you're looking for a mountain getaway and need some peace and quite I'd recommend this place to many! Also Mark is really nice, as well as all the staff there and so helpful. Mark gave us the best driving tip to get home and it made the end of our trip the best it could have been.

This 2 bedroom mountain home is a great place to relax. Beat the valley heat in the summer or play in the snow in the winter. It is only 10 miles from the South Entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Enjoy spending summer evenings around a campfire or winter evenings with hot chocolate beside the cozy wood stove.
Mineral is a charming little mountain town with sunny days and cool summer nights. Winters are generally cool and often come with quite a bit of snow. With a population of 123 people it is never hectic here. Many of the homes are vacation cottages with a scattering of year round residences. The town is great for walking as there is very little traffic so strolling around town is very pleasant. There are also several nice country roads and trails that are near enough that you can leave right from the house. No need for a car to access these trails. Biking is also a popular activity. There is a lodge, restaurant and post office in town.
  • This is our third time staying at Ron and Aysha's wonderful house and we had nothing but a good time. Our kids discover something new in the house everytime - this time it was the puzzles. The area around Mineral still offers many places for us to explore and with a brewery only about 45 minutes away there's even some evening entertainment for us parents. Thank you for letting us stay!

    Tobias2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really cozy place on a beautiful street. Perfect proximity for activities in Lassen NP and the surrounding areas. Hosts were super responsive and provided me with all the info we needed for an awesome winter weekend.

    Barton2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place. The large open great room is comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is very well equipped! There are many games to entertain groups of all ages. We made good use of the wood stove as well- it really puts out some heat when it gets going (and firewood was supplied!). We were looking for a place in the mountains to get away from “real life” for a bit- this place fit the bill exactly. Short distance to Lassen Nat’l Park entrance- although the road through the park was closed to cars (for the winter), we were able to hike on the road for several miles. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Linda2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredible value! A perfectly sweet, immaculately clean 2 bedroom house, (larger than it looks in the photos), nestled in a winter wonderland by the Mt Lassen visitor center and trailhead. Our "5-star hosts" couldn't be improved upon! (On top of everything else, they even let us borrow a dog bed!). If you're looking for a quiet retreat in the natural world, with...conifers,, volcanos, sulfur springs, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, sledding, and a flash-back in time to a 1950's-style neighborhood, and terrific hosts, don't pass this one by!

    Carroll2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the cleanest, best equipped rental we have stayed in! That, plus Ron and Asya are the best hosts!

    Liz2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ron & Asya’s home was perfect for our girls getaway. Located less than a 15 minute drive from Lassen National Parks visitor center. The home was well appointed and had all the kitchen items we needed. The beds were comfortable and had beautiful personalized touches from the owner throughout. They had timely communication and informed us it was important to stock up on provisions and gas since the town of Mineral is so small and quiet! All three of us said we would stay here again the next time we travel to Lassen National Park.

    Maddie2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ron & Asya's cabin is a perfect base camp for exploring Lassen. The space is open and clean and just a short drive from the South entrance of the park. The wood stove was great and really came in handy when we lost power for the first day or so that we were there. Ron gave us some great info on the town and the surrounding area, including some great suggestions for hikes in the park.

    Jamie2019-10-25T00:00:00Z

  • Wonderful time staying with Martha! Beautiful home and wonderful people

    Rebecca2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great stay! Martha had to deal with the pg&e power outages and was still able to make our stay pleasant and comfy! Rooms were comfortable, everything was clean, and Martha had a generator that kept everything up and running. Breakfast was delicious and filling and the coffee/tea bar with fruit was perfect. Would highly recommend, especially if you love a cute friendly dog who loves pets!

    Patrick2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely bed and breakfast in a beautiful location. Would absolutely stay here again.

    Bryn2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend Martha's place to anyone passing through the area! Spent a night there after hiking in Lassen and wish we could have stayed longer. The place is really clean and well maintained. Martha made us feel right at home -and made a great breakfast!

    Emily2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great house. Great hosts. Quick response by host to our queries. The breakfast was good too. But the location is the best part. Manzanita lake is just a short drive away.

    Shikha2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Martha and her husband have a beautiful bed and breakfast nestled back in the tall pines next to Lassen Volcanic National Park. When I called to let them know we were a little late in the evening checking in, they were sure to ask us if we had had dinner...and if not to be sure and eat dinner in Shingletown first as places tend to close early. They suggested a couple of places. Nice tips! Their home is beautiful. We had a spacious room, our own bathroom (down the hall), and felt very at home to be able to go down to the kitchen for water or coffee/tea that was available. Everything was clean and neat. Breakfast was SO good!...omelets, toast, sausage, bacon, fruit...absolutely perfect. We wanted for nothing. Martha was a joy to chat with...and they have a wonderful, loving calm dog, named Milo. He was SO well behaved and sweet! There are very few, affordable places to stay in the area and this one is a treasure!

    Pamela2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Martha’s home is lovely. She was a perfect host and the location is wonderful. We will be back!

    Kristy2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to visit Lassen National Park you need to stay here! Martha's place is nicely tucked ~10 minutes from the west entrance of Lassen National Park. If you don't want to camp or stay south of the park this is the place! Look no further! Martha's house is the perfect location! The house is immaculate and she is a wonderful hostess. The house was easy to find and the outside well maintained. The house was spotless inside. Our room was well stocked with linen and pillows. We did share a bathroom with other rooms but d/t weather and timing there were only 2 other guests during our 2 night stay! Martha's cooking is wonderful and she asked us and the other guests what we wanted for breakfast the night before. She made us separate meals! Martha and her family are friendly, considerate and kind. Of note she does have a dog but he was the friendliest and most laid back dog. NEVER heard him bark ONCE during a two night stay. Dinner is a little difficult considering the location of here house. Tucked away near a national park with little development around limits dinner options. There was a pizza joint and two grocery stores 20 minutes away. We grabbed pizza one night and some groceries another night. Martha provided us with anything we need from her kitchen to prepare our dinner! This is the place to stay!

  • This place is in a great location. The property itself is wonderful, woodstove kept everything nice and toasty, kitchen was well equipped for cooking, everything was very clean and well maintained. Fantastic parks very close by for the daytime and we were able to walk to the bars and restaurants of Chester at night.

  • Johnny’s place was exactly what we needed for staying near Lassen National Park! The space was huge, much bigger than I expected! We loved having great amenities like a full kitchen with spices and whatnot, laundry accessibility, and best of all: a HUGE collection of movies to watch when we were hanging around after hiking. The bed was super comfy (our children slept in pack n plays in the other two rooms). Would definitely return again when visiting Lassen!

    Christie2019-11-25T00:00:00Z

  • Just as the description says; a room in a sweet mountain home. Amanda and her dog Tilly were both very hospitable. We had a nice clean room with a private bathroom. The place was quiet and a wonderful vintage fireplace kept the lovely tree house warm in the otherwise cold November day and night. If you know the danish word “hygge”, Amanda’s place is full of exactly that ☺️

The house is very quiet and the area peaceful. Only 15' drive to lake Almanor/Chester town and 45' to Lassen park. Her beautiful dog Tally is very friendly and playful! She totally deserves to be SUPERHOST! thanks Mandy!!

Wine and coffee provided and I got to try some delicious home made soup over some lovely morning conversation. Would return! Thanks again!!

  • We had a great time staying at Amanda’s. We were looking for a nice dog-friendly place to stay near Lake Almanor, and were happy to find Amanda’s charming and comfy home in Westwood. Everything was cozy and clean, and the bed is very comfy. Our Husky Ellie had a blast playing with Amanda’s lovely dog Tilly. Amanda is super friendly and made us feel right at home. I loved the sweet and whimsical decor of the house, and would definitely stay again! Westwood is a small and quaint town, and was a perfect place to stop on our way up from the Sierras to Bend. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you Amanda and Tilly!

The Stonehouse Cabin is nestled on 10 acres in a beautiful forest on the edge of the small town of Burney, California. It features the latest in modern conveniences while maintaining a classic 'cabin' feel. Fantastic sight-seeing nearby.
The cabin itself has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, with fully equipped modern kitchen. Additionally, there is a bedroom adjacent to the garage with a queen bed and 1/2 bath. Comfortably sleeps 5 to 7 guests.
While it appears that we are in a remote location, we are actually on the edge of town, and only minutes from groceries and other local merchants. We are about 20 minutes from MacArthur Burney Falls State Park, and about 40 minutes from Lassen National Park.
  • Great place to stay!!!

  • Adorable cabin at the edge of town, tucked away where you wouldn't expect it. Quiet and private, it felt like we were in the middle of the woods but without the long drive to amenities. Sparkling clean, comfy beds, ample parking, large yard for the dogs. We will be back!

  • Dottie is very responsive and friendly. The cabin was clean, spacious, and well equipped. It was close to Safeway and gas stations but isolated from the crowd. It’s really like living in the woods. We had a great time there. Really recommended this place to people who plan to visit Lassen Volcanic National Park and Burney falls.

  • This cabin was perfect. It was clean, centrally located to Shasta Lake and Lassen Mountain, and Dottie responded to all my questions. Thanks for a lovely spot

  • House is a great home base to explore the area. Private, clean, and all the amenities you need. Dorothy was a great host. We will definitely be back!

  • This a great place to stay if you're looking for a secluded getaway in the woods. The cabin is amazing and has everything you need to feel comfortable. Would highly recommend!

  • A gem in a beautiful setting. Contemporary with a rustic feel. Impeccably furnished and well appointed. Staying there made our vacation very special.

Beautiful country home with multiple decks and outdoor areas for relaxing. Located in the woods, and not a subdivision, close to BLM land and only 8 minutes from the entrance of Lassen National Park. Close to Hat Creek for fishing, McArthur State Park for Burney Falls, and less than an hour to Redding and the Sundial Bridge.
Open living area, including the decks, offer a place to enjoy the mountain air and soothing sounds of the creek. Catch up with family and friends, or find a private spot on one of the decks for a nap or reading. Over 120 5 Star Reviews on another booking site!
  • This was one of the best places I have ever stayed at using Airbnb. It was so much better than what I expected. It was roomy, clean, & overall an amazing stay. It was a little tricky to get to (our cell service cut out part of the way) but I’m also not familiar with mountain drives at all. When we arrived, there was a delicious freshly baked bread that we all enjoyed. Everything was clean & ready for us. There is a full size jetted tub in the downstairs bathrooms that we really enjoyed throughout our stay & enough beds for our large group as well as plenty of things to do in the house that kept the kids busy. This house was perfect for our very much needed getaway.

  • This cabin and location was amazing. It’s one of few places where you could actually disconnect and not be attached to electronics/smartphones. It’s also great to just enjoy the nature without tourists! Thank you for letting us stay and relax in your cozy cabin.

  • Location, location, location!! This was a great stay for a long weekend. As a family of four with two young boys this was a perfect retreat and super close to many of the things we wanted to see in the park.

14 miles from Mt. Lassen and 25 miles from Burney. Great views, close to hiking trails, restaurants, and lots of other outdoor activities! With your private walk down to Hat Creek, you'll love fishing all day long! The high ceilings, coziness, and location will make this place hard to leave and exciting to come back to! Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups. The local government law mandates us to collect an additional 10% for TOT taxes.
  • This place is cozy and adorable. It’s perfect for a family getaway. Location is perfect. We will definitely be coming back year after year

  • It is an amazing cabin and the river that runs behind is beautiful. Tracey was a great host and her recommendations were very helpful.

  • We initially chose Mt. Lassen Getaway because of its central location, a short drive away from the natural wonders all around. But we were thrilled to find that Two Sons Lodging doesn't just lean on an excellent location: the cabins are all well-appointed, well-maintained, and also newly constructed, and the amenities and thoughtful touches made the space a comfortable base of operations for our explorations of the area. If you have the chance, get to the Getaway. Note: the cabins include a series of examples of mounted animal taxidermy. It's a common decorating choice in the area, but it was a little off-putting for we city-goers to have them prominently displayed in our home-away-from-home. Just an FYI in case it matters to you. But we can't stress enough how overwhelmingly amazing our stay was!

  • We had a great stay at Two Sons! The house was really well equipped, which we appreciated because we tend to cook all of our own meals (husband has celiac, baby is dairy free). Fireplace was cute and the tv channel selection was very good (which our 4 year old was really happy about). The local tips about the lava tube and Hat Creek vista were especially appreciated. I hadn’t read about those beforehand, and the lava tube in particular was a big hit!

Surrounded by adventure in every direction and just minutes from Biz Johnson Trailhead, Hidden Lakes Trailhead, Lake Almanor, Eagle Lake, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and bunches more!
Please swing by the park office upon arrival. If you cannot make it before office closes at 6pm, please give us a heads up call before 6:00pm and we will make arrangements for late arrival. Any after hours check in must be pre-approved before reservation confirmation.
  • Great location and price

    Kayla2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place in Westwood. The kitchen was nice and there are plenty of cooking pots and pans. There is also a cutting board. The sink does not have a garbage disposal. The stove top gets a bit hot as it is a pilot lit stove. The bed was comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows in the bedroom cabinets. All in all I enjoyed my stay. There are active train tracks close by and I wouldn't have minded them so much if I didnt have to wake up super early.

  • Its a bit small, but it was perfect for 2 adults and a child, could even have a second child and be comfortable.

  • This charming, little cabin was perfect for a winter retreat! I spent a few days here snowshoeing, reading, and cooking. Thank you!
