Places to stay in Sandon

Places to stay in Sandon
A little piece of history, set on 4 acre surrounded by Green Gully creek & tucked under the Sandon ridge. The original stone dwelling (circa 1853) was running as the Sandon Tavern until around 1910, the second dwelling (studio) built approximately 15 years ago has a beautiful large living room with fire place, entertaining courtyard with pizza oven & two beautiful bedrooms. It is the perfect weekend get-away to relax & explore the local surrounds of Castlemaine, Daylesford & Maldon.
Ross and I live on the property in the (main cottage) however we are often out and about. If we are home, feel free to knock on the door to say hello or wave as we wander by. In the guest house we have two queen size beds with bedding & towels provided. We have a lovely outdoor court yard for you to enjoy. The space does not have a full kitchen, however we have a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, kettle, electric stove, fridge and in the courtyard we also have a dishwasher along side a pizza oven. We've tried to make it as user friendly as possible. The house has a large fire place and a split system for both heating and cooling needs. Lastly there is limited phone reception, generally we can get enough to make a call or send a text when we are in the paddock however we can not guarantee this as it's always changing. We have WiFi set up for you to be able to use while you are here, so you can still communicate with the wider world over internet based apps. We also have free to air TV, with both Netflix & Stan available and a speaker to play your own music through. If you have children please let us know if you require a port-a-cot or children's mattress - we are happy for children to stay however we have not child proofed the house. Unfortunately our facilities do not currently accommodate wheel chair access. If you have any special requirements/ requests please get in touch with us directly to discuss.
We are located in Sandon which is about a 5 minute drive to our local town of Newstead. Newstead is a small little town which has a pub, two cute little Cafes one called Dig, the other Blackbird, small IGA & bottle shop. Castlemaine is just under a 20 minute drive, with many fantastic things to do including enjoying great cafes/restaurants, exploring the vintage Mill or checking out some local art galleries. There are also fantastic bike trails and walks to explore around the region and many great pubs with live music over the weekend. We are also located just under 25 minutes to Daylesford, Daylesford is known for its amazing day spa's, food and beautiful surrounds. We are more then happy to provide recommendations of things for you to do in the local area, just let us know what your interests are and we can send you a list of activities.
  • Ruby and Ross have a lovely retreat close to Castlemaine, Newstead, Trentham and Daylesford. We enjoyed watching the sunset out the back, netflix inside and cooking pizza's in the court yard. We would love to return one day perhaps with some friends.

  • This gem is a very special place. A perfect country getaway with all the thoughtful touches. Plenty of places to sit and read, watch the sunset over the hills, in your private courtyard with pizza oven... it’s such a unique experience as the character of the building and styling really bring the whole county feeling to life. Great central spot to explore all surroundings - Maldon Castlemaine Daylesford Hepburn etc. This wholesome weekend away is something we will never forget !

  • Staying at Ruby’s is not just an accommodation option, it’s a wonderful experience! The house architecture is stunning, the interior decoration beautiful and there’s thoughtful touches throughout. We will go back!

  • This is a very special and poetic getaway in rural Victoria. The accommodation is stunning, and beautiful. It’s an artist and creatives paradise - quite, poetic and perfect! With lovely small touches including flowers, a welcome note and all the culinary and creative inspiration you could want at hand. We also loved how environmentally conscious Ruby and Ross are, which is reflected in the recycled furniture, water measures and social responsibility (by way of product selection) that supported our stay. Loved everything about this studio 🙌

    Sim2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ruby’s place is a relaxing gorgeous little place with atmosphere, courtyard is a great entertaining area if you bring friends. It is a great base to check out all the markets and vintage antique shops. Both Ruby and her partner are very easy going hosts. Which goes with the relaxed environment. I would highly recommend.

Providence Cottage is a gorgeous quaint cedar house set amidst Eucalypt trees and surrounded by paddocks and rural landscape. This delightful 1 bedroom escape boasts everything you could desire for a relaxing and peaceful interlude. The property is situated on a shared 2 acres and offers privacy but we are at hand should the need arise. This beautifully furnished cottage has been recently refurbished, 1 bedroom with a queen size bed, a separate living space, kitchenette and a modern bathroom.
We are happy for you to bring your beloved pooch (but do request that you clean up after them and refrain from them being on the furniture or bed). Plenty of space for your "baby" to run around!! There is a nightly fee of between $10 and $30 depending on the size and number of animals. Please advise if there will be a dog(s) and I will provide the cost before you book. This cost is then sent to you as an extra cost which you will need to approve and pay with your booking. Both food and water bowls will be provided along with bags to clean up after them ( please take care of this). This cost is to cover the extra cleaning, airing and wear and tear on the property. I like to present the cottage to the next guests sparkling clean and smelling fresh. Infants under the age of 24 months are welcome to stay free of charge but will not be catered for. Infants over 24 months or 1 child can be accommodated and either a porta cot with linen or a single inflatable mattress will be provided with linen and breakfast provisions. There is of course a charge for this. Breakfast is included in your booking and where practical and possible the produce will be either home made or local. We know that being rural doesn’t mean that you have to “rough it” and not have the comforts of home - the cottage is furnished and equipped accordingly There is a kitchenette which will meet all your needs including an electric fry pan, sandwich press, toaster, microwave and coffee machine. The new screened deck has been completed which offers a lovely spot to enjoy your morning cuppa or take advantage of the gas BBQ. The living / meals area has a TV and DVD player with a selection of DVDs to watch from the comfortable seating.
Sandon is in a gorgeous rural area located in the Central Northern Goldfields of Victoria. Newstead is a 5 minute drive or very pleasant 7 km cycle away and boasts a pub, a small supermarket and a decent coffee and selection of cakes and lunches at Dig Cafe. The new Blackbird cafe is now open Wednesday to Sunday and offers an interesting menu and very good coffee! Recently a couple of retail shops have opened which offer a selection of eco and upmarket goodies. Great for any forgotten gifts! Daylesford is approx 32 km and Castlemaine approx 25 kms away. The roads are well maintained, clearly signposted and safe for both cyclists and drivers. Maldon, Creswick, Clunes, Talbot, Hepburn Springs and Maryborough are also a short drive away. For the fishermen or women amongst you the Cairn Curran reservoir is also in the area.
  • Lynn is a very frendly host with a beautiful property on a nice country setting. The cottage is small but homely with nice touches from Lynn including providing homemade breakfast. The property is just off the road and easy to find with Newstead a five minute drive away. We definitely recommend Lynns place for a quiet getaway from the City.

  • Providence Cottage was the perfect place to break our journey and unwind. We ate our BBQ dinner on the back deck to the sounds of the Australian bush at sunset, slept in a spacious and very comfy bed, and enjoyed fresh fruit, muffins (and other nice things!) for breakfast with the compliments of our excellent 'friendly and nothing too much trouble' host Lynn. If we travel this way again we would certainly spend another night in this peaceful spot. Thank you so much :)

The Newstead Haven is the perfect place to either relax and unwind or a wonderful space to entertain friends. The decking area is definitely the star attraction of the property with comfortable seating area, BBQ, outdoor table, lounge chairs and drinks fridge.
  • This is a magic home from home and our second stay here. Sarah is a great host and has spent a lot of time attending to every detail and facility in the spacious accommodation. Evenings can be wasted away in the huge outside entertainment area, complete with BBQ and astonishing sunsets. And the occasional kangaroo may drop in. Newstead is a tiny, quintessential Australian township just a short walk from Sarah's place. A short drive away puts you into Castlemaine, Daylesford etc. if you want the bigger picture. A great place to relax and enjoy serenity.

    Barry & Rhonda2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. It was perfect for our group of five and Sarah was always quick to respond to us when we needed and was nothing but lovely.

    Lucy2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing and family friendly place for a quiet getaway. Our family and dog loved the thoughtful touches and time away from the busy everyday life. The property is huge and safely fenced so your dog will have plenty of space to roam and run around in. We loved the CD player outside on the decking where we could listen to soft jazz music (there’s a whole stack of CDs and movies in one of the bedrooms) while chatting on the couch. My husband and I also loved sitting on the two chairs around the other side of the decking to gaze at the night sky/stars. The dining table can be pulled out to accommodate 6 people. Please note that this property is further out from town and does not have fast wifi or phone connection, which I loved as it forces you to spend time together with your family rather than being glued to the screen. I now have fond memories of us as a family spending quality time together in this quaint cottage.

    Emily2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house with a cosy and warm vibe. Check in and check out was super easy and we had such a great stay.

The Dairy is a beautiful piece of history set in 21 hectares of rolling pasture. Built by Italian settlers in the 1860s, the stone building has been sensitively renovated to create a studio retreat of rustic calm.
The stone stable has been converted to a studio dwelling, with a reading nook up the ladder on the mezzanine. Architecturally unique, the thick rendered walls and stone floor coupled with abundant natural light make for a serene, stylish space. Step out from the kitchen into the dairy. Actively used for storage of farm equipment, it remains unrenovated and is complete with stalls for the 19th century cows that once were milked here. We have designed for simplicity and to encourage a truly restorative break for guests. It's a deliberately low-fi space, and a perfect place to unplug (but rest assured we have phone reception!) There is a full kitchen for cooking plus a wood fire oven in winter. Pantry provisions include quality basics like oils, vinegars, s&p, spices, butter, coffee beans & loose leaf tea. Plus our own home-baked shortbread and country loaf. Please use herbs from the garden. The bathroom has great natural light, a claw foot bath and a separate waterless composting toilet - the 'loveable loo'. The bookshelf is full of novels, plus gardening, cooking and design books. For music, there are speakers for you to plug into. Terraces to the north and west encourage hill gazing and kangaroo spotting.
Yandoit Hills is just over an hour and a half from Melbourne. It is a very picturesque hamlet, with historic stone buildings all around and sheep ambling over the hills. From The Dairy it is 20 minutes to Daylesford and 25 minutes to Castlemaine. We know both towns well and supply information on things to do and places to go if you want to venture out. Bring your walking shoes - The Dairy is perfectly positioned for walks in all directions. Cyclists will enjoy the quiet roads and challenging hills. Or do absolutely nothing but sit and look out over the valley with a glass of wine in your hand. We are located in a seriously pretty part of Central Victoria and the views are exceptional.
  • We had the best two night stay here. Great amenities, all the kitchen supplies/equipment you could need, stunning views and blissfully quiet and peaceful. We hope to come back soon!

    Belinda2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot! The dairy is beautifully renovated and very comfortable with thoughtful touches like cushions for use outside, loose leaf tea and a coffee grinder and plenty of cookware. The bed is very comfortable and the reading nook is lovely and airy with the windows open. Lovely bath too and no issues with the composting toilet. Fiona was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!

  • The perfect place for a tranquil but luxurious country retreat. The property is immaculately styled, comfortable in any weather, and eco friendly. The ideal location in a quiet bush setting but close to Daylesford, Castlemaine and surrounds. Hospitality was exceptional - we really recommend this property.

  • Such a great studio! Randall and Helen were great hosts and helped us when we needed some guidance. The studio/Airbnb is not too far from the centre of town and had all the things that you needed! It’s quite a cosy yet spacious place, I would definitely recommend it 😊

  • I was in town for just one night, it was a great spot to stay between work days. Would also be nice for a longer stay for pleasure.

  • Nice and peaceful little spot to stay only a fifteen minute walk from town. Space has everything you need, would recommend.

    Jodie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Helen and Randall always make a special effort to provide fresh and unusually generous supplies which is terrific. Roses from the garden, a friendly dog and complete privacy and comfort. A refreshing original and contemporary style and best value we’ve found in Castlemaine.

    Alison2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Spent two fabulous nights at Randall and Helen’s studio. It was a wonderful surprise as we are newbies to Air BnB. The studio was spacious, well-appointed and clean...a real home away from home for us. Randall and Helen were super easy to communicate with and very approachable when advice when required. They were especially helpful when we had a car and health hiccup during our stay.

    Meredeth2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for the awesome stay. Both Randall and Helen asked many times if everything was all good and if I needed anything else. Always provided anything I needed. Great communication. Very clean, happy to come in a clean once a week ( as I stayed for a month) would recommend to anyone!

    Jasmine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage. Super charming and well furnished. We loved the garden. Also very comfy bed! The only thing - which is not Bonnie's fault at all - is the bedroom window backs onto the beer garden of the pub next door, which didn't have loud music or anything, just some laughs and conversations.

    Niama2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie's place is in a great location in Castlemaine. As some of the other reviewers have said, it's location right next door to the Bridge Hotel pub means that when a band is playing it is very loud in the house, but as we stayed on a Sunday night the band finished at 5.30pm so this was not an issue for us - a Friday or Saturday might be different though! The cottage is so cute and charming, and in an absolutely cracking location for vintage shopping and a walk around the botanic gardens (just down the street!), and one of the best pub meals we've ever had at the Bridge Hotel next door! We would definitely say here again!

  • We stayed with Linda in March 2020 - when the world revealed we would be fighting a very challenging global pandemic. It was a blessing to escape the city to a true sanctuary, which delivered both peace and tranquility; a refuge for the soul. The photos, as beautiful as they are, didn't do justice to the wonderful style and grace of the cottage - not to mention its breathtaking views. The attention to detail applied from decor to the delicious samples of local produce made us feel very special indeed. The animals living at the estate were charismatic and endearing, we loved them! The whole experience lifted our spirits immensely and allowed us to reenter our 'real world' with some positivism. Thank you, Linda, for a lovely stay away and, as mentioned, we will be coming back in the very near future. Bernard & Olivia

    Bernard2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • Incredible place! Gorgeous and cozy with everything you could possibly need (including breakfast ingredients and local products). The view is wonderful and it was well located to drive to attractions nearby. Linda was hospitable and friendly. Thank you for an excellent stay!

    Shara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s property was beautiful. The view over the property from the decking, in the sunshine, was amazing. The kitchen was great for cooking in, with everything we needed. There were also great pubs and wineries close by. We loved our visits from the 2 cats, donkeys, goats, and sheep. The view from that decking was 10/10, we will certainly be back. Thank you again for having us Linda!

    Nick2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a very enjoyable long weekend at Linda's place. We had everything we needed plus more for a very comfortable stay. Beautifully presented cottage with lovely sanctuary, forest and mountain views . Lots of thoughtful touches and extras such as a bottle of organic wine from the local vineyard, fresh olives, fair trade chocolate, plant-based toiletries etc. Quiet, private and serene, yet only 15 minutes drive to Dayelsford. It was heavenly!

    Ruwani2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was a fantastic host, leaving bottles of wine in the fridge, fresh bread and organic spreads on the counter and giving us a warm welcome upon arrival. The cottage is stunning with a fantastic view over the farm. We couldn't have been more comfortable.

Strangways is a little secret country area situated between Daylesford and Castlemaine. The bungalow is on our 20 acre farm. We are pet friendly (Small, well behaved doggies, on approval, as we have horses sheep and chooks). We are close to many fascinating adventures. Doggies are allowed inside. Please never allow pets to chase or frighten any farm animals.
The bungalow is two stories with a spiral staircase, so guests need to be able to manouevre those.
Our nearest little town is Newstead. It has an IGA, a pub, a lovely little restaurant called 'Dig', which is mainly a weekend place, and a general store.
  • We had such a wonderful time at Gilly and Terry’s place. The bungalow has so much character, and the farm is so peaceful. They also provided so many local tips which made our stay so special. We can’t wait to come back again.

  • Gilly and Terry are the most incredible hosts you could ever hope to meet. They knew we were celebrating a birthday and had a banner waiting for us in the bungalow along with some fresh eggs and food in the fridge. Their friendliness, kindness and warmth made the stay so incredible, even accomodating our old dog who can be a handful at times. I would recommend this beautiful spot to absolutely anybody without hesitation. The property is beautiful, and the animals everywhere are so special. Thanks Gilly and Terry!

Famous for its mineral spring water and iconic heritage buildings, Hepburn Springs is an enchanting and historically rich destination located just three minutes from Daylesford. Originally known as Spring Creek, the village was later renamed as Hepburn Springs after Captain John Hepburn, an early settler in the region. In the early 1850s, alluvial gold was found around the township drawing thousands of immigrants, particularly Swiss Italians. This Swiss Italian heritage is honoured every year at the annual Swiss Italian Festa and all year round visitors can taste the effervescent mineral water the town is most famous for at the historic Mineral Springs Reserve where a number of hand pumps dotted around the parkland dispense mineral water free of charge. Only 3 minutes from Daylesford, Hepburn Springs is also home to some of the best day spas in the region offering mineral water bathing and luxurious treatments. A place to relax and rejuvenate!

  • Thank you Kiera for putting so much love into creating a great space for us to enjoy. It’s a lovely space to unwind, read and relax. It’s a super clean and fun space to discover. A word of caution to those who drive cars with lowered suspensions as the uneven surface at the parking lot took off my bumper as I was reversing out. You might have to find parking on more even surfaces.

    Isaac2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Vera’s cottage was the absolute perfect getaway for my kids and I. It’s quirky and cosy and made us feel right at home. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and if you need any supplies, the (amazing) Hepburn general store is a 3 minute drive away. Cafes are 10 mins away. There are some lovely walks to go on locally - we didn’t see any kangaroos but definitely saw evidence that they had been in the area. We did see a rabbit and loads of birds though. The cottage also has a beautiful garden to relax in. Kiera was a wonderful host, very quick to answer any questions we had. I look forward to visiting again soon.

** Coronavirus update: With stage 3 restrictions now in force in Victoria, Bidwell Cottage is not currently available for holiday getaways. However, we recognise that some people have a genuine need for medium-term temporary alternative accommodation. If you are interested in booking the cottage, please send an enquiry explaining your situation. Please note that the cottage is not suitable for anyone in quarantine, anyone who has been instructed to self-isolate, or anyone who has any symptoms such as fever or a dry cough. There is a 40% discount for bookings of at least 1 month. Most local amenities are currently closed, including the Amazing Mill Markets. However, Daylesford does have a medium-sized Coles supermarket, and most of the excellent local restaurants now offer takeaway and delivery. We are applying a minimum gap between guests of at least 2 empty nights, and enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures are being followed. ** Bidwell is a peaceful country retreat in the heart of Daylesford, set privately at the back of a leafy garden allotment on a quiet no-through-road that leads down to Lake Daylesford. It is very close to the famous Amazing Mill Markets antiques emporium, and within walking distance of both the Lake and Daylesford’s main street with its shops, restaurants and cafes. The cottage has a gas heater as well as a wood burner with plenty of firewood supplied. A new split-system air conditioner has also recently been installed. As well as the queen-size bed in the bedroom, there is a double sofa bed in the lounge. Free WiFi is provided, as well as Netflix on the smart TV. There is a secure fenced garden and pets are also welcome inside the cottage. The long west-facing deck has outdoor seating and a gas barbecue. There is ample on-site parking available.
  • Bidwell is a great place to stay, near the lake and the central springs but also easy walking distance to the main street. The Mill markets are super close and you could spend a day there easily, including at the great cafe. The cottage is cute and cosy with a lovely wood burning stove, games, music and lots of information on the local area. We especially liked the local walks leaflets! Thank you Anthony and Andrew for a great time.

  • Loved it, it is an awesome little get away retreat but close enough to everything. Very clean and well presented. My dog loved his walks down to the back of the lake, tired him out for hours. My second time there..

    Linda2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little cottage with lots of privacy. Sparkling clean with a very homely feel. Amazing location for our get away, short walk to beautiful Lake Daylesford and just down the road from the town centre. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This suite is classy yet down to earth, interesting, comfortable, and arty, with nice views. You feel like you are away from it all, with sounds of kookaburras, or just quiet. Imagine sinking into the amazing corner spa bath, and then wearing a soft robe , with a drink of wine on the house, either indoors or at your outdoor table, enjoying a view of the nearby nature and wildlife, within walking distance to restaurants, general store and Bath House
This is a modern house, built to take advantage of the location. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the town. You enter off the deck which is high up (there are about 12 steps). The suite has its own separate entrance off the deck, with a large sliding door. There is a queen size bed and a sofa bed. There is a kitchenette with a jug, a sandwich maker/toaster, a fridge, a microwave oven, cups, glasses, cutlery, tea and coffee, and a tea pot. Muesli and milk are provided. A cooked breakfast may be available by advance notice. The suite faces South and East, so it is light but does not get the really hot sun. There is an evaporative cooler and a high speed fan for those rare hot evenings, and you can leave the door open for ventilation, it is secluded and safe. The suite is suitable for a single, a couple or a couple of friends who may want to share a room but want to sleep separately, as there is a sofa bed. It is also suitable for a family with one or two young children.
The house is situated at the edge of the forest, facing north east. There are birds like magpies, kookaburras, etc. and kangaroos visit the house. There are three pine trees on the property, as well as eucalyptus trees, and two poplar trees. The air is fresh and one can see many stars in the sky at night.
  • A comfortable cosy stay. Easily accessible.

    Kat2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • If waking up in a warm (electric blanket) donned bed, gazing out at the trees, listening to the birds tweet and fly past and spotting a kangaroo or two sounds perfect - this is the place for you! The spa is big and luxurious, and little touches such as head cushions for the spa, toiletries and tea/coffee/muesli make the stay special. The suite is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Diana is a fantastic host and easy to get in touch with if there are any questions during your stay.

    Annie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Di is a great communicative host who was very considerate since we had to change our dates. The location, spa and place is very comforting. A relaxed place for a relaxed weekend.

    Taylor2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dianna is very hospitable and the home is very peaceful. We saw kangaroos in the early morning.

    Jennifer2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Lovely waking up in the bush to the animals, spa was perfection. Overall I rate the experience

    Jess2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely bush setting close to everything, Diana was a great host. Highly recommend her place for a weekend getaway!

    Emmanuel2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • It's a lovely cosy place, just overlooking the bushes. You could take a walk to the springs. It feels like a treehouse spa :) Diana is a very friendly host, she kept a bunch of toys for my daughter and offered to keep it! Absolutely loved our stay. Sadly we were there only for one day. Will plan a longer visit next time. The only issue is that kitchenette is very small so a bit tricky to heat/serve food or wash dishes.

  • Such a lovely house, we had everything we needed for a great weekend, it’s in a quiet street with beautiful countryside views from the front, lovely spots for al fresco meals out the back, and is walking distance of lovely restaurants, shops and the spas. The decor is stylish, we had great fun playing the records and cooking dinner one evening, it certainly brought back memories 😉 Many thanks for a very special weekend, Sue, Sally, Barb, Helen and Lindsey.

  • The Bach is a peaceful, comfortable place and well kept place, inside and out. Well appointed and spacious (very comfy beds!) and a great record and DVD collection. There were 3 outside seating options and the view from the front deck over the paddocks was particularly nice, giving a feeling of being away from it all whilst just a short drive from the busyness of Daylesford. Debbie was responsive and helpful both before and during our stay. Highly recommended.

There’s lovely views of the garden and paddocks behind us, with lots of kangaroos to keep you entertained ! You can enjoy the fire and watch a movie in bed, or close off the bedroom for a little more privacy. The bedroom also has its own en-suite and walk-in robe. The main bathroom has a large free standing bath with a walk in shower, with a tranquil view of the garden. The second bedroom has a double bed with an outlook to the front garden. There is a deck off the kitchen with a bbq and also a peaceful and private garden patio with steps down to the lawn area.
Big Stan is an easy 10 min walk to the Main Street and good news is it’s all downhill on the way home!
  • Jeff’s place is light, cozy and really thoughtfully put together. We instantly felt at home. The location is excellent, very close to town and Jeff himself was a lovely host. We hope to come again soon. Thank you, Jeff!

  • Lovely studio space in a quiet bush setting. We didn’t actually spend much time in the room but the bed was good, the bathroom is small but clean and has everything you want. There is a small kitchenette with a pod coffee machine. Check in and out was easy with a lock box. It’s a short walk to a delicious restaurant called Frank and Connies- highly recommend!

  • Kellie’s place is a wonderful little gem. It’s not a five star hotel but in my opinion we had a five star experience. It’s a cosy little place that has everything we need. It’s so close to nature it’s almost like glamping. Kellie was also very responsive and quick to come our rescue with spot on directions. My sister and I plan to return to the place and possibly be bringing the rest of our family with us next time.

    Christine2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cozy space, we had such a nice relaxing time. Super lovely to cuddle up a watch a DVD or play board games looking out at the bushland. Great spot close enough to the main town but tucked away in nature.

  • Great little space to chill out. I really enjoyed being able to sit on the front porch in the sun in the morning looking into the lovely courtyard garden, and then be able to go on the deck in the evening and watch the sun set.

  • This is a beautiful small little hut just good enough for both me and my partner. It comes with a small little kitchen equipped with microwave / kettle / toaster / hotplate. Breakfast such as cereal / milk / bread / coffee / tea are provided too (A true B&B!). Justine is very friendly host, she helped us to light up the fire place at night when we went out for dinner. She even offered us the binocular to watch kangaroo! We will highly recommend this place for a cozy stay :)

    Vivian2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Whitefield House for a short time while we attended a wedding at the nearby ‘Butterland’. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had been newly renovated, with new appliances and lots of space. There were heaps of little extras like children’s toys, books, milk and Tim Tams. The beds were really comfortable and we had heaps of space to set up a porta cot for our infant. There was lots of birdlife around, we even had two kookaburras visit in the morning and bath in a nearby trough. The property looks to be surrounded by some farmland. It’s located on a large block of land, so there was lots of privacy from neighbours. It was just a short drive into town. Julie was very quick to respond to any questions or queries that we had, and even helped us out with a request to check in a little earlier. We really appreciated that!!
