Places to stay in Sherburn

Places to stay in Sherburn
Conveniently situated close to the beautiful coast of Scarborough, the North Yorkshire Moors, the Wolds and the historic city of York. The accommodation is a newly renovated annexe which is adjacent to our home and offers a relaxing base in this semi-rural location, ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. The comfortable accommodation offers a king size double bed which can also be made into 2 single beds if required. There is also a sofa bed in the living area.
The underfloor heating throughout the property gives an even warmth when required to this beautifully appointed space and a glassed over well that we discovered in the living area can be illuminated to add an intriguing feature - it is safe to walk over too! Please be advised that there are no blinds on the ceiling windows for those using the sofa bed in the living area.
Sherburn is ideally located to explore the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Wolds, Moors and coast. There is an abundance of fantastic walking and cycling in the local area with excellent friendly pubs serving top class food and crafted beers, marvellous tearooms with home baking and the best fish and chips around!
  • This is our second stay. The garden lodge is a great place to stay. Really conveniently situated for travelling to and from all the attractions around North Yorkshire. Tucked out of the way and feels nice and private. Sara is a great host very accommodating! We will be coming back!

  • I whole-heartedly agree with all the previous reviews. The space is so clean, well organised and quiet. It has a village location close to a great road network so you can be in Flamborough, Filey, Pickering or York easily within the half hour. Farm shops are within a 5 minute drive for pies, sausages and bakery products, and though we chose to go further afield for pubs, there are some close by, and the village itself has a fish and chip shop and convenience store. It's a great location, and it was a relaxing home-from-home experience. Sara was such a friendly and welcoming host who could be on hand for anything we needed. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone looking to explore Yorkshire.

  • Everything was clean and as described, the bed was comfortable to sleep in, the bathroom well equipped with a power shower, a second TV set in the sleeping room is quite a treat. The location is rural and very quiet, just as we prefer it. Sara was a great host, so thanks to her for having us!

    Bea2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Was very pleased with our stay at Sara's place it suited all our needs. Very pleasant host

  • Perfect location to explore Yorkshire Moors, York, Whitby and Scarborough. Don’t forget to check out the smaller towns, you will be pleasantly surprised. The Pasture House was a perfect self catering base, with everything we needed.

  • A nice cottage right in the village in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors

    Rob2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nigel is a great host and his cottage is lovely. Quick replies, cosy cottage, spotlessly clean with lots of towels, and a good location for Scarborough. Scarborough is only a 20 - 30 minute drive. The off road parking at the cottage is very useful. For food or drinks I'd recommend going to the Coachman Inn (10 minute walk) rather than the nearer place. It's in a different world for ambience, comfort and service. The food is stunning and excellent value for the quality and quantity. Also the nearer place no longer does food anyway, despite the sign saying different. We'd love to stay at Nigel's again sometime.

We missed the fish and chip shop which closed at 7pm but they helped us find local a takeaway which was exactly what we needed! The private room was spotless, comfortable and spacious as indeed was the living space. Thank you James, Janine and Carlos for hosting us.

  • Lovely cottage, great village centre location, brilliant communication

    Charlie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning place, finished to a great standard. Super barn conversion which was great for the two of us, but a small family would be more than comfortable here. All mod cons including smart TV’s, under floor heating, jacuzzi bath and the log burner tops it off. Great pub/restaurant 2 minutes away. Quiet village, but half hour either way gets you a market town or the seaside, what more do you want? We cannot wait to go back!

    Richard2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gemma was a great host, responded to any questions quickly. The cottage was clean, well equipped & woodburner was great. Enjoyed the bath & shower, king size bed was comfy, nice bedding. Great location, shame the pubs were both closed on our stay as our hosts said they were both nice. Thoroughly recommend. Thanks Gemma & family x

  • Lovely property in pretty village Great for exploring the North Yotkshire coast area.

    Andrew2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for four nights over Christmas in this cosy and stylish barn. Lisa had even gone to the trouble of decorating it for Christmas, so we soon felt at home. It's in a great location for the beaches and walks set in a peaceful & pretty hamlet plus all the locals were so friendly and welcoming, we were sad to leave! We would 100% book again.

    Rebecca2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with our doggo for a few nights and it was a bit magical. It snowed out first night, log burner, bubble bath and Christmas decorations in such a fabulous little cottage decorated in wonderful decor. Clean and tidy with everything you need. Great walks and pubs around. Got ourselves some fresh eggs from behind the bus stop! Lisa’s communication was great throught.

    Milly2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s barn was absolutely gorgeous! Such a cosy space and felt like home from home. The log burner was the finishing touch for us! Lisa was also very helpful in offering recommendations of local places to eat, would 100% recommend for a cosy stay away!

  • Fantastic, exactly what we needed!! Great location, the property is lovely!

    Mark2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The hut was just as described, quaint and cosy with all amenities that you needed. John was a pleasure to deal with, showing us how the fire and hot work whilst advising on the local eateries.

    Tina2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice little stay. John was very welcoming and helped us get set up just fine. The fire was really warm and kept the whole place toasty, though maintaining the right temperature was a little bit tricky (probably says more about our fire starting). He was a bit slow with texts so best to give him a bell if anything goes wrong. On the whole good value and well worth the visit.

    Tommy2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing for the price! It’s so relaxing and in such a nice place. Everything you expect from it is what you get. The hot tub was nice and clean and had a gazebo to protect us from the rain, was a bit windy which kept blowing the gazebo over but can’t be helped! The hut was so warm with the fire which was lit for when we got there and the pub at the end of the garden is lovely. Good price for amazing home cooked food! Only down point was that I wish we could stay for longer!! Definitely booking again some time soon, was a relaxing break that we needed!

    Keeley2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy hut, had the fire on ready for when we got there so was lovely and warm; hut was bigger than expected, very clean and a minutes walk to a lovely local pub. John was great and very friendly!

  • A very relaxed experience, exactly what we expected. Lovely traditional cottage with open coal and log fire. Hot tub was on and hot for when we got there even though we only booked 24 hours before we came. Owners live next door so if there’s anything you need they’re only a minute away. Thanks John :)

    Claire2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not going to go into minute details. We had a great stay in the cottage between Christmas & New Year. We have no complaints. John (the host) was polite, helpful and made us welcome. The cottage is cosy, warm and comfortable. Everything you need is on hand. TV, WiFi, Radio, Microwave, Central Heating and a coal fire. A toilet and an ensuite bathroom and a fully fitted kitchen. The Cottage is a good size, we never felt cramped. It's situated perfectly for visiting all the sights that Eastern North Yorkshire has to offer. You have to remember what you are getting for your money!!! THIS IS A FULL COTTAGE FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE OTHERS ARE CHARGING IN THE AREA!!! We would recommend John's cottage to anyone and everyone and we will definitely book again.

    Ian2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at johns place, everything we needed and John was only next door if we needed anything. I particularly liked that there was a proper cot for the baby and plenty of bedding as well as a high chair and games. The hot tub was lovely, I noticed a review saying it was only filled to the minimum line however the tub is on a very slight slant due to the layout of the garden so the other side is at maximum. There is a little takeaway in a shepherds hut on site for the summer months. The lovely little town of Pickering is only a 15 minute drive and 45 minutes to York. We loved our stay so much we wanted to stay an extra night, we will be back! Thanks for having us Ruth, Ben & Olive

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Clare and her family in the Manor House. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, with a nice pot of tea and friendly company. The rustic location is so peaceful and the charming rooms have some lovely views. We enjoyed the generous breakfast and, at the end of the day, a nice, hot bath, as each bathroom has a bath in it. The separate sitting room was a nice bonus. Thank you very much for your kind hospitality - highly recommended!

  • Absolutely fabulous place to stay, lovely having a bath instead of a shower so relaxing. Great hosts, great location and the best nights sleep I've had for a long time. The house is full of character and period features, lovely waking up in the morning looking over the fields at the horses. Felt more like family than a guest, can't wait to visit again. Fabulous value for money. Thank you

  • John's place is in a beautiful location and the hot tub is a great added extra. The house is nice and spacious and has everything that you would need, home from home. John is very friendly and welcoming. My sisters and I had a fantastic weekend and would definitely recommend it to others.

    Kirsten2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was a perfect place to stay for our 2 day trip to flamingo land as it is only a 20 minute drive away. The cottage is spacious and has its own private hot tub. A previous review advised taking flip flops as it is located in a different building and this was great advice! There is a pub next door with an excellent beer garden/park which our kids loved. We would return to this accommodation.

    Jennie2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in the quaint village of Yedingham just outside Malton. We spent time in the cottage, the hot tub and visited Malton, Filey and Scarborough, which are all in driving distance. We had evening meal at the pub next door which is very basic pub grub, but it filled a hole. We would definitely visit again if John allowed it.

    Jane2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay, great pub local to the house. Hot tub is a great addition, beds were comfortable, nothing negative to say.

  • Great cottage in a very nice location. Very ideal if you’re looking for somewhere to stay if you’re attending a wedding at The Orangery in Settrington

    Ashley2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 1 night stay at Manor Farm. John was a fantastic host - genuinely friendly and made us feel right at home. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and we loved sitting outside, with loads of room for the kids to play. The house is ok - very spacious and the beds were very comfortable - but there was a slight smell of smoke, probably due to the open log fire in the living room. However, it didn’t spoil our enjoyment and we would have no hesitation in returning. One quick tip for future guests - take some flip flops and a bathrobe as the hot tub is located in another building and you have to walk across the driveway to access it.

    David2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here over the weekend for two nights with some friends. Gorgeous spacious vintage cottage. BBQ facilities were perfect, lovely and private. The hot tub was the highlight, John was really helpful with check in and showing us around. We will definitely be coming back!

  • The Tack Room is a perfect base to explore the North Yorkshire Moors or the coast! The space is beautifully curated, very clean and thoughtfully stocked. Kate and her father were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and you can tell Kate has put a lot of effort into the space. Would highly recommend and would stay again!

  • This is a special find on air bnb. A truly quaint, cosy and lovingly restored tack house. Kate has done an amazing job on the interior, using all reclaimed fittings and decor. My puppy, Ziggy and I loved our 3 day stay here. Kate's Dad was there to meet us and we had a few good chats during our stay. A lovely chap. The tack house is part of a working farm and it was a joy seeing the horses, doggies and sheep each day. If you want a special place to stay, look no further. The prosecco, bread and eggs were a lovely touch, too. Thanks Kate to you and your Dad.

    Denise2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had lovely time staying in the Tackroom. Fantastic and original place to stay, and made really cozy. We received concise and helpful instructions, and had no trouble finding the location.

  • Wonderfully romantic hideaway in a beautiful, away-from-it-all location. Accommodation is quirky but beautiful. We loved being in such close proximity to the horses and wonderful family dogs. Katie and her Dad are terrific hosts - we had prosecco in the fridge and fresh eggs, bread and butter. Could have stayed a lot longer!

You can have breakfast in the hut or come into our B&B and have a full english. We provide a log burner for the cooler nights, small camping cooker and barbeque and fire pit. • No one who’s written a review is lying, Dave and Paula are fabulous hosts, Dave even gave me helpful suggestions for this review, but I don’t need them. The hut is perfect for a cosy retreat out in the sticks. A warm fire, comfy bed, very tasty breakfasts, what more could you need? Thank you D&P, we hope to visit you again.

  • Really lovely little cosy retreat. Hosts very helpful. They lit the fire so it was warm when I had a very late arrival and gave me a late check out when I was very tired. Cooked breakfast in the farmhouse was lovely.

    Kath2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay here. Paula and Dave are the loveliest people I have ever met. They couldn’t do enough for you and even let us borrow their dog lead to train our pup and gave us a power bank when we were struggling. We will definitely be returning. The breakfast is amazing and they really made us feel welcome. Cannot recommend it enough.

  • We had a fantastic two night stay in the hut. The location is fantastic and really beautiful. Our dog was made very welcome and Paula and Dave are so friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast and great tips about where to walk our dog. There’s no electricity but we managed perfectly well! We’ll return!

  • An absolute GEM of a place. Think log cabin with cosy, thoughtful touches, set in the most idyllically tranquility, and that’s what this stay will deliver. Wonderful warm hospitality from the hosts, a delicious breakfast, and a relaxing retreat away from it all in the most stunning little log cabin. Perfect. We will return!

  • Just spent a wonderful 2 nights in the shepherds hut. Paula and Dave were hosts extra-ordinaire. So kind, warm and welcoming. The hut was really cute if a little warm - we did stay there on the hottest 2 days of the year!! So many beautiful dogs. Lazarus to die for. And the puppies utterly beautiful. Great to see a kindred spirit in animal care in Paula. Dave even picked us up from the pub!! Would 100% recommend.

The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was a lovely continental style and was really good. We had a wonderful nights stay and would highly recommend Alison for her hospitality and wonderful home

  • I throughly enjoyed a few restful days here , a lovely place both for relaxing and exploring. All the rooms are spacious and calm , artistically designed and decorated. Everything is luxurious : the breakfast is a lovely choice of fresh and fine food including fruit from the garden: the bathroom is sole use and quality facilities The garden and village set the house off with long distance views, skies, birds and butterflies. Alison's hospitality is boundless, thinking ahead of what guests need and appreciate. Having the local bus passing the door was a great asset for getting around without a car as were the interesting footpaths and bridleways. Alison also helped with lifts to and from Seamer Station which made my journey even easier. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Alison was a wonderful, thoughtful host. On arrival, we were served tea and cake in the sunshine in her stunning garden. Her home is absolutely beautiful; we felt privileged to be able to share it, if only for two nights (in fact, the photographs don't do the house or the garden justice). It is located in a beautiful, quiet village, yet just a minute off the Scarborough to Thirsk road, so ideal for accessing the coast, the Moors and the Wolds. Alison offers an amazing, serve-yourself breakfast, which included a choice of juice, fresh fruit salad, cereals, home made granola, yoghurts, toast and croissants. Thoroughly recommend.

  • 14 acres of beauty! I didn’t realize this was a religious affiliated center. A very interesting history and a very warm & welcoming nature. Staff was attentive and outgoing and the grounds were gorgeous! I didn’t have much time to walk the gardens and property but appreciated the little time I had there.

  • thank you very much for the amazing stay and your hospitality, Adam was especially helpful in sorting us out and making sure we had everything we need. the rooms and the gardens, to the breakfast, every single thing was simply perfect. we are so thankful for the opportunity to stay at such a wonderful place! the garden has many types of flowers, and is quite extensive. lovely walk in the woods, and there was even a children's playground. the garden is incredibly well kept, and so is the Hall itself. there was a library room for people to read in, and it really felt like home! free coffee, tea and water is in the drawing area, with biscuits and fruits for the guests. couldn't ask for more from such exceptional hospitality. A short drive away from Scarborough town, and we also went to Whitby from the Hall, just a 40minute drive away. a much needed getaway, to spend breathing in fresh air!

The lane where The Hall is situated is very quiet . I am approx 800 yards from the main A170 but here no traffic at all other than the odd tractor and horses enjoying their time out turned out in the fields adjoining mine.
  • Lovely house and gardens, ideal location for exploring the coast and nearby mountain biking at Dalby Forest.

  • The house is big and has 300 years of history. Helen is friendly and humorous. She lives next to the property, so it's easy to get help from her. There's a carefully decorated garden. In the sunny weather, it's pleasant to have a walk inside. I'm pleased to book Helen's house. I completely recommend it to future visitors.

  • We stayed overnight while exploring York for the weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer. Helen had a log fire ready for us when we arrived on a chilly dark Saturday night. Her large comfortable lounge was perfect for a cosy family evening. Beds are comfy and there are tons of homely touches everywhere. We plan to return! Helen gave us privacy but was on hand next door if we needed her. Our kids had a lovely play in the garden in the morning. Thank you Helen for a lovely stay.

  • A beautiful cottage set in a tranquil and serene location. My family and I loved our stay at the Old Cottage. Helen was an excellent host from start to finish and the Old Hall was perfect for our families short stay. The place is huge with enough room both outside and in for large groups. It had all the comfort of home and we all slept brilliantly and woke up to the stunning views of the area. This place is great for self catering with lots of kitchen utensils, towels, linen and essentials made available. A lovely place for a break away from it all and thank you Helen for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

    Nick2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place is a nice quiet area with a beautiful garden. The house was exactly as described but with plenty more little touches to make the stay enjoyable. Helen has obviously spent a great deal of time on the place and the garden which is good news for anyone staying as they get to enjoy a home from home. Thanks once more for a lovely stay

  • The Old Hall is a stunning place to stay - beautiful and spacious. Helen was fantastic and so great at being in touch before we arrived. Thank you!

  • Helen has the most beautiful home.. the location is perfect if you like peace and quiet. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children and the property was perfect for us. The gardens are amazing and as we were lucky with the weather were able to take advantage of the outdoor space. Helen is a great host and makes you feel instantly welcome. Would definitely stay here again.

In this lovely old stone house with a treasured typical English garden set in our historic village, lives your happy hostess - who paints. Upon arrival you may meet Indigo Blue whilst having a of tea or a glass of wine. A warm welcome awaits you.
A"The West Wing" in Langley house is in the old village of Hutton Buscel which dates back to around 1100. Langley house was an old ale house prior to 1840 called 'The Langley Arms'.
The village is quiet restful place, set a quarter mile from the main road, so we don't have much through traffic. We have a beautiful old church which is visited frequently. We have open gardens once a year as with a village art exhibition.

  • We completely enjoyed our stay with Jane! We love the history of her place. She was a delight to visit with.

    Michael2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Expect top class hospitality and a warm welcome, the room is private and very nicely presented. Jane covered every possible need and then some. The garden is absolutely stunning as well.

    Daniel2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jane is a brilliant host! From the minute we arrived Jane made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble; even kindly taking us to the wedding venue. The bedroom is stunning and exceptionally clean. Jane provided bottles of water and fruit in the room along with tea and coffee and fresh milk. The bathroom is very spacious and once again exceptionally clean. Jane provided a lovely breakfast with cereals, pastries and fresh juice at a time we requested each morning, it was beautifully presented and had a wide range. I honestly can not recommend Jane’s place enough, it really was a very relaxed, enjoyable stay - thank you.

    Vicky2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely quiet time at Jane’s place. Very pretty space, lots of thoughtful touches. Very convenient location, Comfortable room. We walked to the nearby pub for a meal in the evening. In the morning we were greeted with a good fresh breakfast in the pretty courtyard.

    Louise2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional hospitality, beautiful home, spectacular garden, immaculately clean and lovely village location. We had a perfect stay at Jane's beautiful home. Delicious cake upon arrival and a wonderful continental breakfast, following a very good night's sleep in an extremely comfortable bed. This was an exceptionally good choice, in easy driving distance of Scarborough and the sea. Probably the warmest welcome and the kindest hospitality that we have received after many stays with Airbnb. Very highly recommended.

  • We have recently returned from an absolutely amazing holiday. The site and amenities were fantastic and the wagon was delightful. Tracy could not have been more accommodating! (Thank you!!). We were all made to feel incredibly welcome and Tracy had a fantastic knowledge of the local area which came in very handy. The wagon itself was very comfortable and cosy. We really didn't want to come home. Would highly recommend for a visit to this beautiful part of the country. We will definitely be staying here again. We go podding a lot but this was, by far, the nicest site we have stayed on. The pub ( about 2 mins away) is also dog friendly and serves great food too.

  • I visited Low Hall with 10 friends for a lovely weekend away in the country and that was exactly what we had. House is as you would expect for a grade 2 listed building, it is full of character and interesting use of spaces! Lovely location with great access and parking such a picturesque home. Only downside for us was that it rained for the whole weekend so we couldn't enjoy the gardens but what else would we expect from Yorkshire. Tom and David were on hand when we needed them for any advice and help :)

    Jenny2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with plenty of space for a group. Nice outside space to enjoy too and plenty of parking!

    Lucy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication from the hosts. The children adored the garden, and there was plant of space for all 9 of us without getting under each others feet. Great fish n chips from in the village, and Sainsbury deliver online making it all a bit easier!

    Kim2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Low Hall beginning of Aug 19. Communication with Tom was excellent. We gained access to the home with ease. The rooms were all huge and the children had so much fun playing hide n seek. The gardens were amazing. We took coal and used the BBQ. We all had an amazing time. Thank you

    Natasha2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home in a great location, close to Filey and Scarborough. There were 9 of us staying and we had plenty of space. The large garden was an added bonus too.

  • Great value for money, fantastic gardens with BBQ, summer house and trampoline, there was plenty of space for the 10 of us and the house was spotlessly clean. There is an excellent pub the Forge Valley just down the road that does good food, and really good walks down the forge valley from the village

    Keiran2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

  • This is a clean and friendly household situated in very quiet village. The host is attentive and helpful and caters for all your needs. The location is good for country walks and most amenities are a short drive away. It's a great place if you want to stay in a quiet area but still be close to the seaside.

  • This place was absolutely gorgeous. We would highly recommended to anyone. The breakfast was better like a hotel, everything was clean, and very tidy. The bed was very comfortable. Alison’s home was amazing she has the most beautifull garden, I have ever seen, and if we would have time enough, She would let me read there with a coffie. :) Cannot wait to come here again. And try that too. Really a five star place!

    Katalin2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Visitors to Alison’s place can look forward to a warm welcome, a lovely home with clean and comfortable facilities and great breakfasts. Alison gave us some good suggestions for places to visit in the area and local restaurants to eat at. We highly recommend Alison’s place!

    Celia2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful room in a stunning house. Alison was very much the perfect host, hospitable and extremely thoughtful. Stunning breakfast, accompanied by lots of thoughtful little touches throughout the stay. Good location too, only 12 miles or so away from Pickering in one direction and 5 miles from Scarborough in the other. I would definitely recommend a visit

    Gary2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Alison’s home was so lovely, we stayed with our 10 month old who she was happy to accommodate for. The bedroom was spacious enough for us to have our travel cot in the room with us, and the en-suite was very convenient. The double bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was spot on :-) Alison very kindly offered us home made scones when we arrived back from a day at the beach, which went down a treat! I would highly recommend this stay to anyone.

    Natalie2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Welcome, courtesy and outstanding comfort in a lovely location. And if you haven’t a car, there’s an excellent bus service past the door.

    Michael2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • I chose Alison’s place as it’s the perfect location for exploring the North Yorkshire Coast & Moors. Hutton Buscel is a beautiful and quiet little village conveniently situated just off the A170. More importantly however was that Alison’s home is beautiful, surpassing my expectations for this trip. Upon arrival Alison kindly offered me freshly baked scones and tea which I enjoyed in the dining room. I stayed in my own double room with en-suite. The bed was so comfortable, a gripe of mine being that so many AirBnB hosts provide the most awful and uncomfortable beds! Not in this case and I slept well. Unexpectedly I also had the use of my own sitting room which is large and very stylish. I watched a movie and chilled out reading in the sitting room. As it was the Solstice I also sat in the garden which again was beautifully presented. Continental style breakfast is provided, orange juice, cereals, toast, yoghurt, berries etc And the coffee was marvellous too. All in all this is the best AirBnB that I’ve stayed at in North Yorkshire, I’d highly recommend and I’ll probably be back soon! First class hospitality.

    Karl2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Alison and David have a wonderful home, and were very welcoming hosts. The bedroom has beautiful views over the valley and the garden is stunning. The whole place was spotless, and it’s great to have an en-suite bathroom. The room was very comfortable and quiet, and the location is ideal for country walks and pubs. There was home-made granola (made by Alison) for breakfast which I would highly recommend. I will definitely stay again! Thank you for having me :-)

Elm Tree Cottage at Cottage Farm has been beautifully restored to a very good standard, with quality furnishings and décor which retains the traditional cottage feel. The cottage is all on the ground floor, has its own beautiful private garden and parking for 1 car.
The rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds has views that seem to go on forever, field after field with fantastic wildlife. There are chances you will see boxing hares or deer first thing in the morning. This is a fantastic place for a walking holiday, with the Wolds Way not far from the cottage which is a 79-mile walk that leaves Hessle and finishes in Filey. The walk takes you through the stunning Yorkshire countryside calling at quaint villages for refreshments. Cyclists too will find many interesting and enjoyable routes. The Wolds is also famous for the David Hockney paintings and where he found inspiration for most of his work. The coast is only a 20-minute drive away, within 11 to 13 miles of the east coast resorts of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. Visit the traditional seaside resort of Bridlington with its working harbour and local attractions such as the Spa Theatre and Sewerby Hall and Gardens, or further north is Flamborough Head, Filey and Scarborough, all great family resorts. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton is just a short drive away where you’ll find puffins in their natural habitat. If you fancy some shopping, the walled city of York is less than a 1-hour drive away. As well as shops, there are several museums, and of course the minster which is the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe. For those who prefer countryside pursuits, try some trout fishing at Driffield, or further along the road there is the Cottondale shooting ground. Beach 11 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 4 miles. Elm Tree Cottage at Cottage Farm can be booked together with Willow Tree Cottage at Cottage Farm (UKC52) to accommodate up to 7 guests.

  • We have been travelling across the uk and stayed in some lovely air bnb places but this was our favourite. A small internet issue was overcome. The cottage was stylish, cosy, clean and was not skimped in money wise. Leanne wanted to make sure everything you needed was there. Would highly recommend this place. Beautiful

  • One of the best AirBnbs I have ever stayed in! Elm Tree Cottage was very tidy, welcoming and comfortable with beautiful furnishings. I loved the farmhouse tiling and the ornate fireplace. Communication was satisfactory and the host supplied cake and milk! I have mobility difficulties and I found the cottage easy to access and to walk around. I visited North Yorkshire with my mother and we found this cottage a perfect base for us to travel to places such as, York, Whitby Abbey, Scarborough Castle and Malton Food Lovers Festival. The weather was amazing! I would love to come back again and will be recommending this place to others!

  • Just back from a lovely family weekend at Manor Farm. The house itself is large, and slept all 10 of us comfortably. The rooms were all of good size and very comfortable. The two bathrooms meant no one waited overly long for showers, etc. The kitchen is well equipped, and ideal for communal dining. The lounge was also comfortable for sitting and spending some family time. Weather permitting, the large front garden is also great for the kids to play in, or just to sit out. It provides a lovely, peaceful getaway in a rural setting, including farmyard animal sounds.. 🐓🐓😄. Hutton Buscel is a beautiful place, although the nearest shop, or pub/restaurant is about 25/30 min walk away. This wasn’t a problem for us. The bus to Scarborough and Pickering passes the front gate of the house, with a bus stop a few minutes walk away. This meant we could get about without having to drive everywhere. To summarise, we had a great family weekend, and would not hesitate to recommend Manor Farm to anyone, or indeed return ourselves. Thanks again Heather.. 👍

  • This cottage is wonderfully warm and inviting. We were spending a few days hiking at new year and coming back to such a warm cosy house really made a difference. The shower is great, the kitchen is well equipped and the open fire was lovely. There are pubs in walking distance where you can get a decent meal, and the host left us tea, milk, prosecco chocolate and biscuits! Wonderful! The beds were very comfy and we all slept really well. It was a really lovely place and we had a fantastic new year in this beautiful cottage.
