Everything about this place is wonderful and Te Aroha is probably the most scenic little farming community you've ever seen and is truly an amazing place to relax on vacation. It's super close to Hobbiton and the Wairere Falls and close enough to Auckland for a day trip. Highly recommended.

    John2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable cottage with a lovely outdoor area. It's very close to Te Aroha Domain where you can swim and start exploring the mountain. The cottage backs on to the mountain and is very quiet - take note though that the fire station siren goes off every day at 8am and 5pm! We are a family of four and the kids, aged 7 and 5, had plenty of space in the house. Jeremy was kind enough to have left us some breakfast supplies to start our stay. We had brilliant weather during our trip and the house did get quite hot while we were out and about for the day, but easily cooled down when opened up in the evenings.

    Kylie2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay. Everything you need. Good value.

    Bas2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nestled into the mountain but very handy to town, Jeremy's place is well equipped and roomy enough for two couples, with space for children. Communication with Jeremy was excellent and the price was reasonable.

  • Absolutely amazing place, thank you again :) the house is so cozy and easy to fall in love with! Located within 30 mins drive to Hobbiton and then it is easy to get to Tauranga, Rotorua etc. Jeremy was really helpful as well! We would definitely come again :)

We live on a small acreage with rural views, although we are a short scenic walk away from the centre of Te Aroha. You will need your own transport to get to/from Te Aroha, however we are on a main route through to Tauranga, the Coromandel Peninsular and Rotorua/Hamilton/Auckland. We have a long history with the Coromandel Peninsular in particular and can advise re sights and tourist spots, along with some very experienced fishing and boating experience in the Bay of Plenty and the Coromandel. Te Aroha is a small, historic and scenic town and is at the foot of Mt Te Aroha, which has many mountain biking and walking tracks. After a day of walking or biking the hills you can even relax in the heated thermal pools! Hobbiton is nearby as are cycle tracks, bush walks, great cafes in town, 20 minutes walk if you are so inclined. In our home we have a very comfortable queen bed available with own bathroom. Wifi and mysky and if you are so inclined and can play - there is also a grand piano to tinkle out a few tunes!

  • Quick and clear communication. Nice spot and nice and private cabin. Enjoyed our stay!

    Marleen2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful holiday park setting with mature trees. Bonus of a hot thermal pool and swimming pool that looks out onto beautiful rural scenery. Our cabin whilst without a bathroom, was very clean, comfortable and had a sink, fridge, microwave, toaster, plates + cutlery, TV and kettle which made it perfect. Only tiny improvement would be to have a couple more showers/toilets for the number of people, having said that my partner only experienced once a queue for these. Also lots of amusements on offer for kids (and adults): flying fox, buggy carts, fun playground. All in all this Holiday Park has been a delightful find and I would happily come back here.

"CHALET DE CHEVAL" is a small one bedroom chalet, on an equine property. Prettily decorated with full kitchen, shower room and toilet. The orchard is just outside with large grass area to stroll on. Outside the Kitchen window you will see horses coming and going and will be able to go around to stables to interact with Barry and Christine's horses while they are being brushed . Tea, coffee , milk ,sugar, oil and essentials are provided- . We are country people with country values.
We are horse people and ride ,train and teach horses and owners. We are interested in History and have a large library that we delve into very regularly. Barry keeps the property running, feeding and caring for the 14 horses on our property at present. , we look forward to meeting you and sharing our space with you.
Te Aroha is country town with heaps to do .It situated right under the mountain and has plenty of cafes, small restaurants and two supermarkets. This a farming community and also a racing stable community, it is quite a busy little town that reminds you as you walk in town of a village. There are sculptures of metal made by our local artist in the street that are used for bikes stands and one cafe is renown for the design of taps and hangings by this artist.
  • Hosts Christine and Barry informed me of the issue about coronavirus and the government's requirements while I was away for work via a very detailed message..so I was then well informed. All care was taken for my needs over that time..after I left, the communication was still there and was welcoming me back once this lockdown has passed. So the message here is, just this...Fantastic care for their customers and outstanding hospitality!

  • Everything is just as described but even better than I imagined. The garden and sitting areas are beautiful and so tranquil, and the space is immaculately clean. Very comfy bed, which is much appreciated after long days of exploring. Close to really cute towns of all sizes and central for all our North Island adventures. Well stocked with equipment for cooking meals. I would definitely stay here again! Christine and Barry are so hospitable, but not imposing, and make you feel very welcome. Overall one of the best Air BnB experiences I have had.

Modern cabin with private garden and separate entrance at side of my Railway Cottage (Central PAEROA, New Zealand). Ideal for two with continental breakfast and snacks. Off street parking and cycle storage. Nice interior with kitchenette and bathroom. Quality linen. Wifi. Large flat screen TV. Very clean and comfortable and in the perfect central location for The Hauraki Rail Trail or using as a base to explore The Coromandel and surrounding scenic areas.
This cabin is the perfect get-a-away as it's right in central PAEROA and within walking distance to shops, cafes and all that Paeroa has to offer. Perfect base for cycling The Hauraki Rail Trail. If you are spending a few days here you will have plenty of time to visit Te Aroha (Spa Town), Waihi and Thames (Gold Mining Towns) plus, you are at the gateway to the scenic Coromandel.
Paeroa is the Antique Town of New Zealand with interesting vintage and antiques shops to explore. Check out where the locals eat at The Refinery Cafe and The Courtyard Cafe. The Falls Bistro & Restaurant is a secret I can't keep as the food and setting is amazing! The perfect place for brunch or dinner. The Hauraki Rail Trail is the one of New Zealand's most accessible cycle trails with Paeroa being the perfect base. Close to Hamilton, Auckland and Tauranga it's the perfect couple of days or weekend away. The temperate climate on the Coromandel Peninsula and the Hauraki Plains provides a great all-year round riding experience. The trail has some of the best scenery in New Zealand and includes riding through the stunning Karangahake Gorge, one of the "14 wonders of New Zealand”. The trail follows the path of two historic railway lines, running from Paeroa through Waikino to Waihi. Plus there's the Thames, Te Aroha and Kaiaua rides.

  • Jennifer's place was great to stay at on my way to Raglan from Taupo. It's not a great location in it's own right but really good if you need somewhere to crash en route to your destination. The room is simple but really comfortable and Jennifer and her husband were so so lovely and welcoming. I got some really helpful tips about my trip to South Island which was really appreciated. Jennifer even gave me some amazing plums from her garden to take with me in the morning which was super sweet. Lovely couple and a lovely place to stay.

My place is close to town but is still in private rural surroundings with an awesome view of Mt Te Aroha. You have separate private sleeping quarters in an old vintage bus (with fridge). You have access to free wifi and own kitchen and lounge with cooking facilities, pool table, darts, music and more. The toilet and shower are shared with the owner at this stage Currently undergoing renovations to allow guests their own private bathroom. Tent site available with full use of facilities
My place has a very laid back friendly atmosphere. It has a rustic theme with a collection of antiques and old farm machinery that will take you back in time to a bygone era. At the BIG Blue Barn we enjoy BBQ's, bonfires and beers. I encourage live music and jam sessions as I am a keen guitar player with a love of most music (especially spanish style guitar). So if you like it a bit musical, casual and a bit rough, this is the place for you!

  • Lovely place, very well located for all the walks in the area. The interior was cute and well matched and it was probably the best equipped little place we’ve been to. We took our 23 month old and it was appropriate for him too. The place would be well suited for someone who struggled with mobility too. We’d visit again if coming back to the Gorge!

  • We had the most amazing peaceful days at John and Nikki’s place. The studio is small, yet perfect with all amnesties needed to live and cook. Quiet countryside location, with only a few minutes by car away from supermarkets. However, the hospitality is what really stood out, like breakfast top-up, incl fresh eggs from the gardens’ chickens every morning, attentive communication and everything needed for a crash course in ukulele. Can’t recommend enough!

When you lie in bed in our Little Cottage you can see the sea. The cottage is little, just a bedroom and bathroom, but the location is idyllic and you have your own private verandah where you can relax and watch the sunrise and sunset. There are tea and coffee facilities and a fridge and laundry for guest use but there is no kitchen. This is a lovely quiet spot to rest for a night or two on your journey. It is close to Tauranga and Katikati and all that the beautiful Bay of Plenty has to offer.
The Little Cottage is comfortably equipped. There is a spacious bathroom with shower, heated towel rail, basin, toilet and plenty of thick towels. The bedroom has a desk, shelves for your luggage, tea and coffee facilities, an incredibly comfortable queen bed with electric blanket, bedside tables and reading lamps. On your private verandah there is comfortable seating and a side table. You can walk from your verandah up to the old willow tree, where you can lie in the grass and enjoy the panoramic views across the sea and over to the Kaimai ranges. The Little Cottage backs on to a shared courtyard garden with outside dining and barbeque.
We are just a few minutes off State Highway 2 and close to many Bay of Plenty spots. Tauranga is just 20 minutes away and our closest town is Katikati, about 15 minutes north of us. It is a 5 minute drive to Pahoia beach, where you can swim at high tide. It's a 15 minute drive to some lovely bush walks with beautiful swimming holes in Aongatete Forest, and to the thermal pools at Sapphire Springs. The stunning beaches of Mount Maunganui and Waihi are about 25 minutes away, and the incredible Karangahake Gorge about 35 minutes.
  • You will be wowed if you come here. A fabulous little place with all you need and a view to die for. Open your curtains and enjoy a wonderful sunrise over the bay. Anne was a great host.

  • This accommodation is such a beautiful gem. So quiet, private and relaxing, pure bliss. Everything in the accommodation is as described but so much better. Anne provided quick and helpful communication and once checked in, I felt like family.

    Shannon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Anne, Jeff and Isla are warm and friendly and made me feel instantly at home. The little cottage was immaculately presented and has the most spectacular view. It was nice to be able to walk through the garden and sit under a tree to watch the sun rise or set. I was attending a course nearby so didn't get to spend as much time there as I'd like to have. It would make a wonderful writers retreat; I could see me getting quite a bit of work done sitting at the desk looking out over Tauranga Moana to Matakana Island.

  • Breathtaking views, beautiful and comfortable lodging. Everything was very thoughtfully decorated and designed, the hosts were lovely and always up for a chat. We had the best time on our honeymoon here.

    Mabel2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Anne was a superhost indeed! Her little cottage and dreamy garden, as well as the lush, green surrounding area is good for anyone's soul! Anne was willing to pick me up from the bus stop late at night and even offered driving me into town the next day to pick up my rental car. The cottage was well equipped with everything I needed. I especially appreciated the soft, comfy towels in the bathroom. Friendly, generous and relaxed, Anne lived up to what is said about New Zealanders in general and welcomed me warmly into her home. Thank you Anne, Geoffrey and Ayla for a beautiful time, Stephanie

Situated on the edge of a small orchard of feijoa fruit trees over looking native bush and farmland with a stream running through it. The cottage has a private setting with a large deck area. The property is on state highway two, 2 minutes to Katikati town which has a large variety of dining choices and services including a large supermarket .20 minutes to the city of Tauranga ,the beach & Mount Maunganui.Beautiful Waihi beach is approximately 12-15 minutes drive away.
Although conviently situated on State Highway 2 , Feijoa lodge gives you the rural setting & is only a short drive to the local town well known for its Murals, some depicting local history & giving you the chance for some pictorial memories.
We are a lifestyle property on the outskirts of Katikati surrounded by kiwi fruit orchards with a beautiful view of the Kaimais & native bird song.
  • Feijoa Lodge is a lovely place to stop in for a few days to explore the area. The accommodation is comfortable and clean and stocked with everything you need to feel at home. Jane is lovely and welcoming and extremely informative. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • If I could give 10 stars, I would! Jane and her husband were so kind to my friends and I; offering us fresh eggs in the morning, a look around their beautiful garden, and even fresh plums from their trees! Definitely worth the money and made our trip 10x better. Such a cute stylish bungalow! Thank you so much to the both of you, will definitely be coming back!

  • Jane was an amazing host. We truly enjoyed our stay. She gave us great recommendations of where to go, what to see, and where to eat. We felt very relaxed in the privacy of our home. We enjoyed listening to the many bird sounds on the deck. If we come back to New Zealand we would definitely stay there again. Thank you again for everything!

Nothing fancy - just a double room (queen size bed) and use of a shared bathroom (shower over bath) in a small family home. What we love about our house is that you can see the Coromandel Range from the side deck, and it's just a few minutes' walk from the supermarket, Paeroa's famous antique shops, State Highways 2 and 26, and the Hauraki Rail Trail. We love meeting people from all different places, and our little brown hens are waiting to lay a nice egg for your breakfast.

    Jae2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly special place and I can only recommend staying there if you are in the area. It’s a lovely farm with animals and a great view. Sue and her husband showed us the animals and the berries they are growing. They are also selling their strawberries and blueberries as well as home made ice cream made of them. The accommodation is very clean and simply special. It is perfect if you are going to Rotorua or the Hobbiton movie set before or after. We would definitely come back.

    Vanessa2020-02-29T00:00:00Z

  • Fiona's place was great for our 1 night stopover. Very accommodating, friendly, clean, and the jacuzzi was brilliant!

    Laura2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fionas place is a lovely tucked away house located next to a golf course. Milk, tea, coffee and bread was provided which we thought were very thoughtful touches. This is not the hosts problem, but when putting things in the fridge I would recommend to label them as unfortunately one of the other guests ate our breakfast we had bought. But would 100% recommend to anyone to stay at Fionas.

  • Cute cottage in fabulous location to lovely walks in the gorge. Everything you need there for a cosy stay

    Paul2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean, spacious, updated three bedroom home that has a classic yesteryear vibe, and a well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge, nice yard, and soothing hot tub.   There is convenient off street parking with an easy walk to the gorge.  The wifi was a bit spotty and slow at times, but the hosts advised us they are having the equipment updated shortly.  The AirBNB descriptions and photos are accurate. We enjoyed our stay and would return again.

    Paul2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Lesley's place was nice and cosy, and very clean. It was a delight to stay there. Their responses were also always prompt.

    Justine2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage! Homely and historic but with all the mod cons. Spotlessly clean too. A great location for walks, cycling, cafe etc. Convenient distance from 2 townships. Recommending it to all our family and friends.

    Tracey2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly special place. I came with my wife and we both loved the quaint little cottage. The gardens were spectacular and the hot tub was so relaxing after many hours hiking. Mike and Lesley provide many suggestions for the area. The kitchen was well stocked and the house had lovely touches. Very quiet at night and the bed was so comfortable it was amazing. The shower was also great. Close to town for any needs. I highly recommend The Falls Retreat restaurant for a special meal and Royal Flavours Indian in the nearby town (on a side street) was amazing.

Our wonderful home is a converted Catholic Church, built in 1954 which we were lucky enough to buy in 1996. It offers a unique and special stay, full of character with a peaceful atmosphere. A great place to spend time relaxing or exploring the beautiful area we live in.
The Air BNB area has its own entrance, bathroom, toilet and the spacious front area which offers lounge, dining area, kitchenette with inverter microwave, use of the BBQ and tea, coffee, toaster etc available. A separate bedroom with queen size bed opens on to the courtyard. If you are travelling with family or friends there is room for extra guests. It is very private from our home and would also include the courtyard area for your private use should you like to relax in this space.
We are located on the Cycle Trail which opens in early 2020, linking the historic town of Te Aroha, through to Matamata, the starting point for tours to the Shire and the world class tourist attraction of Hobbition. This is a new addition to the cycle trails in the region which link to the breathtaking Karangahake Gorge. We are just 10 minutes by car toTe Aroha, an old Spa town, offering silky mineral water hot pools unique to New Zealand. Matamata the gateway to Hobbition is 20 minutes drive from our home.
