    Megan2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect little haven away from it all! Loved the peace and quiet of no tv or wifi. The old railway carriage is very cozy and has everything you need including tea, coffee and milk. Hot tub was awesome after dinner for some stargazing and still warm enough in the morning before breakfast. We will return👍

    Emma2020-03-16T00:00:00Z

In our beautiful Cotswold garden, wind up through the rockery to this sheltered hillside spot, with its very own private deck and seating area, offering gorgeous views to the surrounding village, nestled in idyllic countryside. This light and airy, but warm and cosy studio has a super comfortable kingsize bed, a desk and a separate stylish modern bathroom, a lovely deep bath, and a very efficient shower attachment if needed. You will be living under the eaves, so headspace is a little limited.
You are welcome to potter about our large garden.
We are just 2 minutes walk from the Seven Tuns Pub, which is a quintessential Cotswold country pub, with good food and roaring log fires - this is a great place to while away an afternoon or have an evening out without any need to drive. We are situated in the most beautiful countryside with miles of footpaths. We have a beautiful church and a Roman villa in the village and a farm shop that serves an all day ‘bottomless’ breakfast. Nearby Cirencester has great independent shops and a Waitrose. Also highly recommended for food is The Village Pub at Barnsley and The New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns. There is also a village taxi service, if you need a lift home. Needless to say, we are right on the doorstep of all the well known cotswold villages and beauty spots, so this is an excellent location from which to tour around.
  • We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful loft and Caroline was so lovely. Such a quiet and peaceful area but still so close everything - great base to explore the Cotswolds. Would definitely stay again!

  • Really nice room in an extremely pretty village with a great host and many little luxuries - highly recommended !

  • Fantastic host, Amazing accommodation, in a beautiful village. Would definitely return thank you 😊

    Jade2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s place is a real delight. A picturesque setting with great views and places to explore. A great host from the moment she helped us locate which cottage was hers in the dark! The studio itself was lovely too, with lots of nice finishing touches. Would recommend taking a trip to the local pub, where we had a lovely pie and chips!

    Matt2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely relaxing space in the heart of the Cotswolds. Close to everything you need and with lovely family hosts. Great selection of pubs close by.

    Molly2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just as perfect as the first time! Caroline's hospitality is second to none and we thoroughly enjoyed our second stay with her. Once again the room was very clean and had all the facilties you could need. We forgot how lovely the bath is and how comfortable the bed is, which led to an unplanned lie in - oops! Caroline and her husband had lots of suggestions for places to eat and visit in the area which was greatly appreciated. Communication was also very quick and there was always someone around if needed. We will be back very soon!

Escape to our country estate in a picture book Cotswold village. Our welcoming family home combines old fashioned charm with modern conveniences. All of our beautiful bedrooms are en suite (shower or bath). Lots of history, uneven floor boards and low doorways in places and some dogs and cats! We provide you with a wholesome, proper cooked breakfast. It is not a self catering house. Dinner or supper can be provided by arrangement, as can lunch if so desired. It is very much a home vs hotel.
This rambling old house is full of character with lots of unexpected nooks and crannies. It has a happy atmosphere and is wonderfully peaceful. Bring boots or possibly borrow some so you can enjoy country walks on our doorstep! We are only minutes from Cheltenham and Cirencester so we are ideally situated for business travellers and also holiday makers.
The estate is situated in a designated "AONB" (area of outstanding natural beauty) and we would be delighted to share some of the joy of living in such a place with you. Rolling hills, Cotswold stone walls, sheep and even occasional soaring buzzards.
  • Absolutely 10/10 for the stay in terms of venue, location, things to do and personal touch! When I should’ve been a little more prepared for the stay, Fiona booked us a restaurant, introduced us to some lovely areas of Cotswold and even let us borrow some boots for a walk through the horrendous mud. These touches made all the difference for our stay. Would definitely love to visit again! Hopefully in some better weather conditions too!

    Josh2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very good experience! highly recommended! The host was very tasteful and the breakfast was very hearty. Everything was perfect except a bit cold at night!

    Iceice2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona's place is stunning - a beautiful country house in the heart of the village. The bedrooms are lovely, with some having quirky details like four-poster beds, fireplaces, or free-standing baths. You have the use of a large sitting room with a lovely fireplace, and a dining room for breakfast, which was fabulous both days of our stay. Fiona gave lots of tips of the best places to eat locally, and was very communicative. We somehow didn't realise when we booked that there isn't a kitchen, but the traditional B&B experience was wonderful and we didn't miss the kitchen at all.

    Olivia2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I booked all of Fiona’s bedrooms for my 30th birthday weekend and we had a simply unforgettable stay. The manor is beautiful and so is the surrounding area. On arrival we were greeted by Fiona’s housekeeper Henrietta, who had made a delicious birthday cake to welcome us, and took exceptional care of us the entire evening. She was there to make us dinner and answer any question anyone might have, and generally make us all feel welcome. The dining room was elegant, and touches like candles and silverware made us feel very special. On top of the dining room, we also had the living room which was an incredibly beautiful and cosy place to play board games and chat by the fire. In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast and it meant a lot to know that everything on the table was locally sourced and had its own story. We then had a walk by the fields near the manor where there were beautiful and friendly horses, and then explored the village, including the local pub which was really friendly and cosy. I really recommend this place and hope to be back before too long!

  • A great place for old friends to catch up; met with a delicious cake and a warm, private sitting room. Three totally different, quirky, comfy bedrooms in a characterful home. Superb breakfast. A very helpful host. Would love to make a repeat visit

    Alison2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona’s house definitely looks better than picture. The breakfast is incredible, it is healthy and locally sourced with top quality.

    Athena2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a unique property. Full of character. Amazing views and country side.

    Jenny2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona was an exceptionally hospitable host. These were things that impressed us: - The 17th century manor is an absolute wonder to live in. It is kitted out with a piano, two living rooms and comfortable rooms. You feel the House is historic and feels rich in heritage - Fiona cooked us a lovely breakfast, which she went to lengths to explain everything is locally sourced and the jam and zucchini were from the back garden. - We were given quite specific instructions to find the house in advance, so that was quite helpful - Fiona took the initiative to book us in a lovely restaurant inn nearby called the Wheatsheaf, which served wonderful food. - Fiona also invited us to take a trek through the estate surrounding the manor, where we saw many horses being looked after. The estate does cover quite a bit! We felt well looked after and it was a pleasure staying at Fiona’s. We would definitely visit again, and would recommend anyone to stay here as well!

The cottage was built in 1703 and Grade II listed, in Bibury Gloucestershire. An area of outstanding beauty and conservation, being described as the most beautiful village in England. The cottage has been restored with modern ultility and comfort. Please bear in mind that there are no mobile signal for most servers however there's wifi at the cottage. The cottage number 27 is on the left of the photograph. Entrance to the left around the corner so not the whole house as the right is No 26.
The master bedroom has a KING SIZE bed and plenty of room for a baby travel cot which we have stored in the cupboard. The second bedroom has a SMALL double bed, it will sleep two adults It is a old cottage built in 1703 but has heating set ON at all time and modern bathroom (LOW ceiling height), kitchen and WIFI All towels and beds with clean sheets and top blanket are provided. I am not running a HOTEL so we don't offers room services or open welcome door services OR provides wood to light the fire in the fire place.
Bibury is a charming, typically Cotswold, village just a short drive from "The Capital of the Cotswolds", Cirencester. Bibury was once described by William Morris (1834-96) as "the most beautiful village in England". In fact, Fox News says that Bibury is one of the world's most picturesque villages, and an article on the Huffington Post website (1st May 2014), titled "The Most Charming Towns In Europe You'll Want To Visit ASAP", mentioned Bibury. And the cottages of Arlington Row are often referred to as the most photographed and beautiful cottages in the country.
  • Yasmine’s cottage is like a jewel box. Perfectly formed with lovely touches everywhere you look. Coming here, in this amazing village, has been like stepping into a fantasy world. This is the best place to experience Bibury and the Cotswolds.

You will love Stable Cottage because of its unique and peaceful setting attached to our C18 Cotswold Farmhouse which has wonderful views and huge garden. It's is private, spacious but cosy with a comfy bed and woodburning stove for chilly winter evenings. Perfect if you want to come and isolate yourself from coronavirus.. we have increased our cleaning charge to reflect the extra deep cleans.
The beautiful setting and stylish interior
The peaceful countryside and convenient location. There are footpaths nearby and the nearest Pub is 2.3 miles away.
  • A lovely setting to escape to the country for a couple of nights - Caroline's characterful family house is the only other in site from the cottage. I'm sure it would be lovely to sit out on a warm summers eve, but if not, retreating to the snug and the log burner is a delight. The cottage is well kitted out with everything needed for a self sufficient visit, and makes for a very comfortable stay. Only a short drive to the nearest villages, also part linked up by footpaths if the weather is right. The recommended 6 mile walk in the welcome folder was very enjoyable, and muddy!

    Jody2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely brilliant. Lovely location and only a short drive from the best parts of the Cotswolds.

    Hugh2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely clean, tidy and comfortable. A good location, close to Cirencester and some good pubs.

    Andrew2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend this lovely cottage in the middle of a farm: very charming, very convenient with a fully equipped kitchen. The fireplace is such a plus in winter and cosy. The bedding is perfect and comfortable. Very adapted for a couple and a baby. Caroline is very nice and flexible regarding check in time. Unfortunately we did not get the chance to meet her.

  • Kate is lovely and the place is fantastic. Only slight downfall is not much of a kitchen area

    Simon2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful (and stylish) place in a beautiful area. Great host.

    Josh2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little stylish hideaway - off the beaten track just the way we like it. The Stump for pizza and pasta and the yummiest garlic dip we’ve ever tasted in the world is just a few minutes away. Kate lit us a fire both nights and it was just right for our contemplative escape from our busy stressful lives. Thank you Kate!

  • Beautiful cosy place for a weekend break in the Cotswolds

    Joanna2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely romantic space, good for two people to lounge and enjoy the space while exploring some corners of Cotswolds.

    Kylie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Kate’s place. The space is really stylish, clean and has everything you need. With the log burner and heaters it was super cosy and warm even in mid-feb! Despite being attached to the house there is a separate entrance to the studio so the whole area still felt nicely private. As shown in the description there is just a toaster, fridge, kettle and microwave but this was not a problem at all and we were kindly left milk, bread, condiments, tea, coffee and muesli for breakfast which was a really nice touch. We enjoyed two lovely meals at the Seven Tuns and at the Stump in the evenings - would highly recommend both! Thanks for a lovely stay!

    Laura2020-02-19T00:00:00Z

  • A great place to stay for a short break. Really clean and very well equipped. Located in a quiet and small village, that is very accessible from the A40 and about a 10 minute drive to Burford (where there is free parking!). Would highly recommend the ‘Inn for All Seasons’ which has an especially great fish menu. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay there again.

  • Elder mews is a little gem of a place. Fantastic views looking out over the countryside. The studio was sparkling clean and warm. A car is a must as the local supermarket is a short drive away.

  • Great location, very clean, nice big apartment with everything necessary to spend a few days. It is in a beautiful, peaceful setting- but not too far from shopping and great restaurants! Nice central location in the Cotswalds, perfect for exploring the area. Highly recommend!

  • Fantastic place to stay in the Cotswolds. Not too far to get to Burford and, if you love a country pub, The Fox Inn is just a short walk away. Great walks, lovely scenery, perfect way to see in the New Year.

The Barn is situated in the beautiful Cotswold village of Windrush which is on the borders of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. The Barn was converted into a detached house in the 1970s. There are many walks close by including the Cotswold Way. We are the next village along from the beautiful Sherborn Estate, where Springwatch and Autumn watch were filmed. I have one double bedroom with double bed with private bathroom. There is free parking.
The Barn is situated on the edge of the village of Windrush. It is very quiet and tranquil. There are far reaching views from the house and garden. It would make an ideal retreat for artists. It is close to the beautiful Cotswold town of Burford and only 3.1 miles away from Stone Barn a popular wedding venue. It is 1 mile off the A40 which makes it ideal for sightseeing around Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. We are only 20 miles from the famous Cheltenham Race course. We are 8 miles from Bourton on the Water otherwise known as the Little Venice of the Cotswolds.
Windrush is a beautiful Cotswold village with a church and a village hall where many functions are held. The National Trust Sherborne Estate is one mile away where there is a thriving shop with a cafe which sells delicious coffee and cakes. There are walks all over Sherborne Estate. There is a Pub at Little Barrington which is one mile away which serves delicious food.
  • The location of Jackie's place is in the beautiful Cotswold area. There are a couple of villages nearby in easy walking distance that are really charming. You feel immersed in the serenity of the Cotswold countryside. Jackie is very welcoming and accommodating. We highly recommend her place.

    Angel2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie's home is beautifully situated with fantastic views over the surrounding countryside. The bed was super comfy, great shower and we were made to feel very much at home. Jackie was flexible around our check in timing which made our weekend very much easier to manage.

  • We could not recommend this place more highly. The house was beautiful, quaint and clean and the room comfy and beautifully cosy. The real gem in this experience, however, was Jackie who is a fabulous and gracious host! Nothing was too much trouble, but the highlight for us was getting to share breakfast with her as we chatted with her about all aspects of life, which was really wonderful! We’ll definitely be making another visit not only for the house and wealth of things to do in the area but for the lovely hostess with the mostest! Thank you, Jackie!

  • Always a lovely stay at Jackie’s . Love the peace and quiet of staying in Windrush . Jackie’s house is gorgeous, using her kitchen for any meal is a bonus. Jackie is one of the loveliest people we have met on our travels . Our favourite AirBnB to relax in .

This is a detached conversion which you have to yourselves. The beautifully renovated Grade II Listed stable, in a quintessential Cotswold village, has a cosy fire in a spacious living area. There's a large bedroom with wardrobe, and a modern ensuite shower. Local walks are on the doorstep, close to attractions such as Sherborne Park (National Trust), Burford, Bibury and Stone Barn.
Underfloor heating downstairs, and woodburner with a basket of wood provided. Tea, coffee, milk and snacks are provided in the kitchen. There is a microwave for cooking (no oven or hob) but we can cook meals for you and deliver to the door during the Corona crisis. We recommend cookfood.net.
Fabulous local shop/tea room in the next village. Pub also within walking distance.
  • A lovely property in a lovely location! A perfect place for a weekend escape.

  • Wow! Jo’s place is absolutely gorgeous. As other reviewers have said it’s even nicer than the photos. Very spacious but still cosy. Jo is also a kind and generous host. The local area is beautiful and we also tried out a few of the recommendations for places to eat.

The Notgrove Estate is a 1500 acre family run working farm owned by Harry and Diana Acland. Set high up in the Cotswold Hills it has 400 acres of grassland in deep valleys and 100 acres of woodland and rolling arable fields. The farm has a mix of sheep, cattle and arable and has diversified with two horse livery yards and a holiday cottage business. In the last few years Harry and Diana have put in new foot and bridle paths and entered into a wildlife conservation scheme planting 200 acres of special plots planted with wild bird mixes, corn bunting mixes, pollen and nectar mixes for bees and beetle banks that promotes the preservation of our natural wild birds. The scenery changes with each season as does the pattern of farming; we have an abundance of lambs and calves in spring, harvest in summer, colourful autumn leaves and dramatic winters, often with snow.

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

  • A very cozy, clean place just off the main road. The accommodations were well equipped with any items we needed, extremely clean, and comfortable. It was easy to get our key from the little lockbox and the instructions were crystal clear. We made great use of the local suggestions while we visited. We were able to walk to enjoy a few local pubs, a beautiful church, local coffee shops, and an amazing little local market for food and snacks. Northleach was the quaint, quiet country town that we were looking for and it was very convenient to local attractions such as Sudeley Castle. I hope we are able to stay here again the next time we visit England and the countryside.

Daisy's cottage is situated in Great Rissington a hill top village overlooking the Windrush valley. A few minutes drive away is Bourton on the Water, The Slaughters Stow on the Wold and Burford. Set in the grounds of Kate and Richard's own home the cottage has been converted from a Georgian Barn it provides cosy, self contained accommodation, and offers couples the chance to share this wonderful area while enjoying the privacy of their own characterful cottage.
Whilst retaining the original beams and stonework Daisy's has a light, airy interior; stable door to the front and French doors to the private patio area at the back. The wonderfully equipped kitchen lacks nothing. Everything has been considered to make self-catering a joy. The cosy sitting room has a television and dvd player. It also has a radio and iPod/iPhone docking station. The bedroom is furnished in antique pine with a comfortable king size bed and has a window opening to the patio. The bathroom has a bath with over head shower, it also has a hand held shower attached to the taps, and a pretty window with views over the gardens of Meadow Barn. The preferred check in times are 3pm to 5pm but this is flexible with prior arrangement.
Set in the heart of the Cotswold we have many beautiful villages to visit all within a short drive Bourton on the Water, The Slaughters, Burford and Bibury to name just a few. Also worth a visit is Adam Hinson’s Farm Park, Snowshill Manor, the world famous Arts and Crafts garden at Hidcote near Chipping Campden, Chedworth Roman Villa and Cirencester. The city of Bath makes a wonderful day visit as does Stratford on Avon and Warwick. For those of you that enjoy period drama a visit to Chavenage house where some of Poldark was filmed is a must, at Chavenage you can escape into the peaceful surroundings of a Cotswold manor, virtually unchanged for 400 years. The house is situated near Tetbury which is 31 miles from Daisy's Cottage and open to the pubic from 1st May to 30th September on Thursdays and Sundays from 2-5pm. The charming village of Bampton which is just 14 miles away is where many scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed, St Mary's church renamed St Michael and All Angels in Downton Abbey, has hosted many dramatic events including weddings, funerals, christenings and even a jilting at the alter!
  • Kate’s place is a dream, every detail has been thought about and catered for. The cottage and gardens are stunning and the chickens are the best looking in England! A delightful warm welcome. They have really made the place feel like a home from home. I can’t fault the experience, I highly recommend this stay. They made it hard to leave, I will be back soon. Thanks Kate for a wonderful stay.

  • We had a lovely long weekend break at Daisy’s Cottage. Kate greeted us on arrival and provided a few essentials for the coming days, including some yummy fresh eggs from her chickens. The cottage had everything we needed for a nice break, plenty of information on local attractions and a great pub a stones throw away. We look forward to returning at some point in the future!

Perfect spot for quick day trips as well as a comfy place to hibernate a bit if that’s what you are looking for. The town is small so it was great to just pop down for a walk when the sun would come out. All around a great time that we will never forget!

Surrounded by nothing but acres of fields filled with wildlife, College Farm Cottage is a charming 18th Century child- and dog-friendly* property, sleeping 3 guests in 2 bed-rooms with 1 bathroom. A short drive from the Cotswold towns of Burford and Lechlade, College Farm Cottage is perfect for guests seeking open space and tranquillity, with plenty of walking routes quite literally on your doorstep.
*Dogs: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at the cottage at an additional cost of £30 per dog. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog(s) and we will then revise your booking confirmation. Introduction Low hedges, acres of flat green fields and an abundance of wildlife – these are the scenes that will greet you as you head towards College Farm Cottage. Situated on the expansive Bradwell Grove Estate, home to the Cotswold Wildlife Park, it’s hard to im-agine that you are only a few miles from Burford and Lechlade. As you make your way along the open fence-less lanes, you will almost feel as though you’re driving through the middle of the fields. Once you have arrived at the end of the farm track, you will find a delightful cottage with plenty of character – if you’re visiting in the summer months, you’ll even get to appreciate College Farm Cottage in all of its beautiful Wiste-ria–covered glory. College farm was built in 1771 by Trinity College of the University of Oxford for the use of tenant farmers as a source of additional income for the college. A working farm up until recent years, College Farm is now owned by the Bradwell Grove Estate, home to the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park that exhibits over 260 different species of ani-mals – on a quiet day you may even be able to hear the lions roaring from the cottage! Although College Farm is no longer a working farm, it is surrounded by mainly arable farmland, all of which is organic. With a strong emphasis on conservation around the estate, there is plenty of wildlife to observe, from ground nesting birds to deer. You only have to step outside of the door at College Farm Cottage and you are right in the heart of unspoilt countryside, with bridle paths and walking routes running alongside the farmyard. Inside, the cottage is a lovely mix of traditional and new. The original flagstone flooring and woodburner add a touch of rustic charm, while there’s a new JVC Smart TV for guest use. Benefitting from a bright and airy feeling throughout, the cottage is decorat-ed in neutral tones, accented by quirky pops of colour and unique pieces of art and furniture. The back door opens out into a garden, while the windows boast views of nothing but green fields and the historic farmyard buildings. If you’re looking for peace, tranquillity and open starry skies, you’ve come to the right place. Despite its rural location, College Farm Cottage is just a 5-10 minute drive from the beautiful market town of Burford, where you will find artisan boutiques, cosy cafés, and interesting pubs. Walk to the top of the High Street and look back down the hill to enjoy one of the most exquisite views in the Cotswolds – and perhaps the finest ‘streetscape’ in England! Full Description Ground Floor Enter through the front door straight into the… Sitting Room A bright and spacious living space, the Sitting Room has a wonderful quintessential country cottage feel to it. Outside The garden of College Farm Cottage can be accessed via the back door from the Kitch-en. Benefitting from the best of both worlds, College Farm Cottage enjoys a secluded location but is also the perfect location for exploring Burford and the wider Cotswolds. Please see the framed OS map in the sitting room where College Farm sits exactly cen-trally. In just a 5-10 minute drive you will find yourself on the High Street of Burford, a stunning medieval market town with plenty to offer. The excellent Co-operative su-permarket on the High Street stocks all immediate shopping requirements and is open 7am – 10pm every day of the week. There is also a Co-operative supermarket in Lech-lade, a 5-10 minute drive in the opposite direction to Burford, open 8am-8pm every day. There are some great cafés in Burford. Head towards the historic church and you will discover the newly built Warwick Hall and café, ideal for a morning coffee and snacks. Another good spot for a reviving cup of coffee or tea is Lynwood & Co on the High Street, where you can also buy delicious local artisan-made Sourdough bread and of course the famous Huffkins tea shop. If you find yourself parking in the main car park for Burford near the church (free parking) you will cross the mill-race connecting to the charming River Windrush that meanders through the Cotswolds, a lovely spot to feed the ducks and swans! Burford used to be a major coaching town between London and the West Country and was home to 35 coaching inns! The town still retains 13 pubs, of which some favour-ites are The Angel, a very good gastropub, The Highway and The Lamb on Sheep Street. There’s also a great variety of specialist shops to explore – including Maggie White and the fascinating Tolsey Museum. Alternatively, The Victoria in Eastleach, a very pretty Cotswold village nearby, is about an hour walk from the cottage and is a wonderful pub with good food, recommended by Emma and William. Also highly recommended - The Five Alls in Filkins and The Bell in Langford, both excellent pubs. All are popular so booking is essential. Around 5 miles south of the cottage, you will find Lechlade-on-Thames, a small historic town on the Thames, from which London could be reached by boat. With plenty of walks, a thriving market square, pubs, cafes and antique shops, Lechlade is slightly off the beaten tourist track compared to Burford and makes for a great day out. Here you will find a fantastic butcher, Cutler & Bayliss, selling high quality meat, cheese, fresh vegetables and bread as well as another Lynwood & Co café. If you fancy exploring a bit further afield, the beautiful ancient Roman market town of Cirencester is about 10 miles south and also there’s Witney which is an easy 11-mile drive east towards Oxford. Like Cirencester it has a great array of high street shops, larger supermarkets such as M&S, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, eateries and a modern cinema complex. Also, around 15 miles away is the renowned Daylesford Organic Farm in Kingham, a farm complex that offers a farm shop, restaurant, spa as well as other activities such as farm tours and cooking courses. See the Burford Guidebook for further information.

  • Definitely recommend this place, it’s lovely and snug: all very picturesque and exactly up the street of any cotswold tourists looking for a countryside idyll. Great location near lots of great villages, towns and Oxford. Clean, charismatic, an incredibly comfy bed. Just the January pick-me-up we were after.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage, which was just what we needed. The setting was very scenic, and we enjoyed the using the wood burner in the living room, which helped with the cold weather! It was also lovely to explore the historic town of Burford nearby.

  • A cosy Cotswolds getaway. Rayma and Trevor were fantastic hosts who made me feel very welcome. The room was beautifully decorated and cosy. It even had an electric heater to keep you warm on a winters night. The reception room was an added bonus, which had a toaster, microwave and mini fridge. The hosts provided amble tea and coffee making facilities. Just what I like! Thank you for a perfect weekend away. I would love to come and stay again sometime!

  • We had a lovely stay in Burford, and really enjoyed the cosy room and incredible location for pubs and a walk in the countryside. Thanks for having us!

    Katie2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rayma's place in Burford is a beautiful 500 years old home. The Airbnb space you get will be the top floor which consists of a bed room, a living/dining space where you have seating facilities and also microwave, mini fridge and cutlery and your own bathroom. There is also a provision for tea and coffee provided. The bed is cozy and comfy and the room is maintained warm during winters. In the bath space, you get fresh towels, soap and shampoo. Though Breakfast is not provided we have many options to eat out. Trevor and Rayma are very kind and would do everything possible to make your stay memorable. I would mark this as a rare find.

Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom luxury cottage. Converted grade 2 listed stables. Near Burford in the Cotswolds area of outstanding natural beauty. Quiet location with rear views across open fields. Car required. New furniture, fully fitted kitchen.
The stables were built in the mid 19th century. We recently converted part into a luxury cottage. The design is up to date, but in sympathy with the beauty of the old building. Many of the original features have been retained. For example one bedroom is set in one of the old stables stalls, within the stalls doors. The kitchen is in the stable boy's room with wood panelled walls and saddle racks. The cottage is fully independent and fully fitted (e.g. washer/drier, iron, fridge freezer). We are close to Stone Barn in Upper Windrush. The popular town of Burford is a few minutes away. As well as the basics (all sheets, towels, soaps, shampoos etc) we provide tea, coffee capsules, condiments, washing and dishwashing powder. We have wellies for walks available in a variety of sizes, and maps of the local area to help guide your route.
We are set next to open fields in a village dating back hundreds of years. In the Domesday Book of 1086 it is described as Wenric. Our village church is 12th Century Norman, the Manor House dates to 1570.
  • Lovely, comfortable and cosy cottage. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch at the Five Alls nearby and enjoyed a few walks in the surrounding areas.

    Ruth2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully presented cottage which has been thoughtfully fitted out. Lovely linen and towels and nice smellies made it feel special. Great location for walks and visiting Cotswold towns and villages.

  • Mike's place was lovely and peaceful. Great host - good communication and suggestions of places to go in the area. Would definitely recommend the Bell in Langford for somewhere to eat, a 15-20 min drive but food was fantastic. Mike's place was super clean and very good getaway from London for the weekend - just 1hr30 in the car.

  • Had a great stay here. Everything you need was provided and clean. The highlight was sitting by the log burner in the evenings.

    Nicole2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had high expectations from the lovely pictures and listing, but it was even better in person! There were so many thoughtful touches (bird seeds for spreading, dog snacks, games, lotions, a variety of bath salts, etc.). It truly felt like home, if my home was a beyond charming 500 year-old cottage (rather than a colonial-style home in a 90s suburb). The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and I loved using the cute vanity to get ready each morning. The house was well-stocked in every area and surprisingly equipped with modern conveniences (dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, etc.) that blended pretty seamlessly. They did a great job with the design down to the smallest details (antique light switches, faucets and hardware, etc.) it was pretty easy to feel like you had been transported in time. You do need to be a little extra careful on the stairs, especially with kids, but there are decent hand rails and reminders on the wall to take them slowly. We came with two young kids and loved having a really nice playground, a library, lovely walking trails and shops just a short walk away. There is also a coffee shop a couple doors down with amazing brownies (not typically a chocolate fan) and a small farmers market on Wednesdays. Oh, and we really enjoyed lighting the fire at night (especially the first night when all we needed to do was drop a match on their perfectly prepared stack of wood and fire starters, lol). All in all, a wonderful trip. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Only an hour from Bath and 10 mins from cotswolds so there are plenty of places to take to dogs If it's a dog holiday which it was for us. Definitely reccommend and will sure to be back.

The Granary is part of The Great Barns at Macaroni Farm which were built in the 1700's. Macaroni Farm is a family run, organic farm situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests staying here can enjoy the many footpaths, and walk across fields to the historic village of Eastleach. The Granary is a beautifully authentic barn conversion which retains the feel of the original grain store it once was, with exposed beams, stone and stable dividers upstairs.
The ground floor consists of a large, stone floored open plan living room/kitchen, with electric wood burner. The entrance hall is spacious with a WC under the stairs, that leads up to the bathroom, twin room , and master bedroom. All beds are comfortable Loaf beds. The master bedroom has a super king size bed and its' own WC and basin. Guests would need to walk through the twin to get to the master room, which could also be used as a dressing room for couples who wished to stay.
The historic village of Eastleach is a short walk across the fields from The Granary which also boasts the very popular 'Queen Victoria' pub. We are on the edge of the Coln Valley famous for its' beautiful walks. There are 5 wonderful pubs within a 10 minute radius of the farm, while the villages of Bibury, Burford, Fairford, Lechlade and Cirencester are close by and easy to explore from us. Fairford and Lechlade both have a 'Lynwoods' café which are infamous for their delicious coffee, sourdough and breakfasts.
  • Our weekend was so relaxing. We booked Liza’s place as a girls weekend for crafting, drinking tea, catching up and chilling out and it was perfect. A lovely open living space was exactly what we wanted and it was so calm and quiet. Looking forward to returning.

  • A beautifully appointed barn conversion. A really special place to stay.

  • Very comfortable stay with our toddler. Lovely place to stay. Modern and spacious. Liza was very accomodating and great at responding to messages. She kindly left us some milk, eggs and crossaints to start off our stay. Beds were very comfortable. Thanks for a lovely little break.

  • The Granary is an absolute gem. My friends and I had an amazingly peaceful time at the cottage for our get away. It is very quiet but also only a few minutes drive away from the classic charming villages of Cotswolds with good pubs around, offers beautiful walks and Liza the host was so quick to respond (we didn’t have the bin liners), you would never feel too far away. The place is spacious, tastefully decorated and sparkling clean. And the beds are super comfortable with the amazing down duvets that makes you feel like you’re floating in the clouds. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

  • Incredible stay at The Granary. It’s the perfect location for a weekend getaway in the country with beautiful walks, pubs and the English countryside right on its doorstep. Liza was so helpful at recommending local attractions and her attention to detail in the house is amazing. We will definitely be coming back!!

    Victoria2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, the Cotswolds are amazing, its absolutely stunning here. It is beautiful English Countryside in the forest. It was exactly what I was hoping to see. Beautiful home in a beautiful location, near cute medieval villages, and even palaces not too far away. We went as a family, and spent a day shopping in near by Burford, and Bourton on the Water, and visiting Blenheim Palace. The home is neat and well equipped, with oodles of space. Its styled well and lit well through out, with very good black out curtains on the sleeping floor. Bathrooms a plenty (such an awesome luxury.) We only spent 2 nights at The Granary but we would've happily have stayed for 2 weeks or more. There was so much to see and do in the area. The home has excellent wifi, and a washing machine that also can dry. The only small negative is its under a flight path, planes fly by quite frequently but do eventually stop overnight. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Its an absolutely amazing Airbnb, and worth every penny. I loved it.

The Pigsty has been lovingly converted into a double en suite room with TV, internet, tea and coffee. The room opens up onto a sunny, newly paved court yard with outdoor seating for you to enjoy. The private entrance via a locked gate means you can come and go as you please. Located in central Lechlade with the river Thames, open fields, pubs, restaurants and cafes on your door step. It's a vibrant and friendly market town with plenty to do!
Built circa 1805 this property was originally a pigsty and later converted in to the wash house for the cottage built around 1850. Now it's a quirky en suite room with handmade mahogany double glazed doors and windows, under floor heating, stone sink, remote controlled lighting and extractor fan and opens up onto a sunny court yard for you to enjoy. The room itself can be used as living room, bedroom or work space with the fold out futon and table, as illustrated in the photos. Note: due to limited space, toilet has a curtain instead of a door. Pigsty is located about 4 metres from my kitchen/back door
Lechlade a very social and friendly place. The terrace row where the Pigsty is situated is a throw back to 1940s living, with close neighbours and cups of tea over the garden fence. It's charming and you'll certainly live like a local and not a tourist.
  • Absolutely superb.

    Noel2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Isla’s Pigsty is the cutest most comfortable little space you can imagine. We wanted to get out of London to switch off and be in nature. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better location. The Pigsty is located in the centre of the picturesque village of Lechlade-on-Thames, with all amenities you could want in a few min walking distance, and on top of a local walking route that takes you along the Thames across local fields. Isla was super responsive so check-in was a breeze and she was on hand for any tips. Thanks Isla!

  • I have been a regular pig stayer over the last 10 weeks or so and everything is always great. Warm, comfortable and cosy. Just right after a day at work or out walking.

  • We had a lovely stay in the Pigsty and were cosy despite pouring rain!

For the more active amongst us, there are plenty of walking trails of varying difficultly, as well as cycle routes. Lechlade is on the bank of the Thames which provides plenty of other activities such as Boat hire which can be arranged from The Trout Inn which is only about a mile on the Faringdon Road. A little way down the river towards Buscot, you will find St Johns Lock which is the first lock on the Thames. Stay here a while and watch the boats navigate through the lock. Lechlade is served by plenty of Pubs and Restaurants such as the Riverside which is located just beyond the famous Halfpenny Bridge. The local Fish & Chip shop is again just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. There are also Chinese and Indian restaurants as well as Cafe's. If you're after a more leisurely holiday, there are grand open homes to visit such as Kelmscott Manor and Buscot House or you may choose to visit the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust for a spot of birdwatching or catching a glimpse of other wildlife. For big and small children alike, The Cotswold Wildlife Park is just 6 miles along the road to Burford. This is a fantastic dayout for all the family and is a must see whilst you are in the area. If fishing is your thing, the Lechlade Trout Fishery provides rod hire & river fishing. They are located on the edge of town on the Burford Road. There is also a broad mix of shops in the town from the renowned Christmas Shop through to Antiques. Plumtree Cottage is just a couple of minutes walk from the local Londis where you will find all of the essentials that you will need during your stay. You will also find a Butcher and Grocer a couple of minutes away. Other major centres which are within easy reach of Lechlade by car are Burford - 11 minutes, Cirencester (The Capital of the Cotswolds) - 25 minutes, Swindon - 30 minutes and Oxford - 40 minutes.
  • Beautiful cottage, full of character and very comfortable .

  • My partner & I stayed at the Coach House for our last get away before our baby arrived. It was a perfect location, short walk or drive into Bourton-on-the-water. Unfortunately we came at a time Covid 19 rules were becoming stricter so didn’t get the opportunity to explore as much as we’d liked- however this meant more time in this lovely home. It was so comfortable & there‘s a good selection of DVD’s & books available to use so we were very grateful. Would highly recommend anyone to stay at the Coach House. We will definitely be returning with our daughter once we’re able to to really take the beautiful area in. Thank you again Sharon and David ☺️

  • We stayed at Sharon's place over New Year and we had the most wonderful time. The place was super cosy, clean and tidy. You can tell Sharon has put a lot of thought into making this a lovely and comfortable place to stay, with special little touches throughout. It was only about a 10-15 minute walk into the picturesque Bourton-on-the-Water and there is also lovely nearby nature reserve. The stay was made extra special as my partner proposed on New Year's Eve, so we'd certainly love to return to The Coach House again someday to reminisce!

    Rebecca2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon provided everything we needed and more so that we could relax and enjoy a much needed break. You don’t need to think twice about staying here, I couldn’t recommend it more highly!
