Local beaches

Pembrokeshire has numerous beaches! Here are some of my favourites that you may wish to visit.
This stunning cove with its spectacular rock formation is just a short walk from the house. There are a lot of steep steps to reach the rocky beach, or you can simply admire the view from the top.

Breathtakingly beautiful and just up the road! You can admire this gorgeous beach from a couple of viewpoints, although the beach itself is not so easy to access.

This is the local beach in the village and easy to reach, its not far to walk from the house or you can drive, it has a car park and toilets. It's a popular spot for surfing and nice to watch the sun going down. It's very tidal so not much beach at high tide, but when its low there's a lovely sandy beach with rock pools to explore.

Lydstep caverns are a short, scenic walk along the Coastal Path - best visited at low tide to see the caverns!

With sand dunes on one side and the sea on the other, this is a nice stretch of beach to walk along, especially when the sun is going down. It’s around a 15 minute drive from the house, there’s a car park, toilets and no steps to negotiate to reach the beach, so a nice easy option.

Depending on which way you are going, the small village of Amroth is at the end, or the beginning, of the coastal path. It has a paved walkway with benches, so you can sit with an ice cream and look out to sea, or take a walk along the half mile of beach and explore some of the rock pools.

Local towns

All of these pretty towns have places to eat, and if you fancy fish’n’chips by the sea head to Tenby and Sandersfoot
Tenby is a pretty seaside town with stunning beaches, pastel coloured houses, restaurants, cafes, fish’n’chips shops and gorgeous views. Its medieval streets are surrounded in parts by ancient Norman walls and the tower remains of the 12th century Norman Castle. Castle Beach which was named the Sunday Times beach of the year in 2019. Tenby is just 5 miles away, so it's easy to reach. A good day trip is to walk along the coast to Tenby, have a wander around and something to eat and get the local bus back.
