A bit further away, but I prefer their tempura battered fish to Corbett's panko style. They serve large portions and the family meals are a great deal.

This is our favorite Chinese in the area. It's a great place to take the family, not pretentious, and inexpensive. We've never been disappointed with the food. Some favorites are Mongolian beef, orange chicken, and General Tso's chicken.

Fun little donut shop, get there early as they can run out fast on busier days. I dare you to get the Texas!

Sightseeing

We're just over a mile from Heritage Park at Lacamas Lake. You'll find a great walking trail that skirts the lake along with a small dock and several places along the beach to sit or skip rocks. There is also a nice little play area, bathroom facilities, and in the summer kayak rentals.

Round lake is connected to Lacamas and there is free parking on either side of the bridge. This is a favorite for our family. Enjoy a peaceful walk down to two separate waterfalls and the dam. You can walk all the way around, ride your bikes, or stop at the play area. There are even several areas for picnicking and barbecues.

This is the perfect beach setting on the Columbia River with covered picnic areas and restroom facilities. It's a nice sandy beach with plenty of spots to relax on the river for the entire day and even use one of the barbecue pits later in the evening.

Head out of town on Hwy 14 for a spectacularly beautiful and winding drive along the Columbia River. You'll pass Beacon Rock and Bonneville Dam, you could cross the Bridge of the Gods at Cascade Locks or continue on to Stevenson or even Maryhill. Lots of gorgeous vistas along the way to stop and admire the views.

Very cool historic building with lots of windows, and tons of private seating. My kids love the teens area. The upstairs gallery is host to many community events. They will re-open on March 15th. In the summer the Camas Farmer's Market is right outside on Wednesdays.

City/town information

Any trip to Portland should include a stop at Powell's Books, a drive across St. John's Bridge from the west side (on a clear day you can see Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens), the Hoyt Arboretum, Japanese Garden or International Rose Test Garden, and a walk in Forest Park. Try to squeeze in a donut shop such as Blue Star or ice cream at Salt & Straw.
