Our most favourite local pub, just a short stroll across the Common, in the very pretty village of Amberley. No frills, quite sleepy, just a magical setting….and good Sunday roasts! https://www.theblackhorseamberley.co.uk

Minchinhampton is such a pretty neighbouring little Cotswold village. Teeny, tiny but a very picturesque high street. It’s best bits are The Crown pub and Henry’s organic cafe - the best coffee around (in my opinion! - a must) https://orderhenrys.com

Visit Stroud on a Saturday morning when the Farmers Market is in full swing and you’d be hard pushed not to love it. Busy and friendly, with amazing back drops and a pretty pedestrianised high street, on a sunny day it really does feel like you’re on holiday! And also make sure you check out the brand new Five Valleys shopping centre with indoor food market and swanky department store… https://fresh-n-local.co.uk/trader/stroud/ https://www.fivevalleysstroud.co.uk

Turn right out of our gate and you will find yourself on Minchinhampton Common. Hundreds of cows roam freely across this common, it has been a local tradition for centuries. There are also a handful of ponies and the (locally) famous donkey Alfie…
