Sightseeing

Why come to Houston and not visit the most popular and historic NASA? It is far, only go if you have vehicle. Uber will be expensive to go, but it's fun to see this place, especially if you have kids.

This is an amazing brewery. This is also far from our house, but if you have time, you love beer and welcome to Houston sign, it's totally worth the visit. This is a brewery, it has foodtruck, Welcome to Houston sign, giant Beatles (band) statues, & I love Houston with different flags all over the world on it.

Cloud Column is a monumental stainless steel sculpture by Anish Kapoor, installed outside Glassell School of Art in Houston, Texas, in 2018. The sculpture was created in 2006 (Wikipedia). It’s 30 feet tall and weighs 21,000 lbs. It was created by the same artist, as the one in Chicago, but it does differ from Cloud Gate in one kinda major way: The stainless-steel surface has been hand-worked, so it’s not as smooth as Chicago’s. It’s humanly imperfect, which I think is pretty beautiful. Cloud Column has two very different sides. The Bissonnet-facing side is beveled outward, while the other side is concave. When you look at that side, your reflection from down at the bottom is flipped upside down at the tippy top of the structure. Similarly, the clouds are down at the bottom by you. It’s pretty gorgeous.

I suggest to go on Thursday morning because it's free :), then go to Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS) in the late afternoon because, again, it's FREE. hehe :) You're welcome ^_^. Both Museums are in the same area. Houston Zoo is also in the same area.

Another grocery, close to the house (6mins or 1.7 miles). It's a smaller store than walmart, so if you only need few items or in a hurry - this is the place to go. Price is a little higher than walmart, they need kroger card. You can get one for free or you can use mine (just type or tell the cashier my no. 832-691-0918).

One of the popular beaches near Houston. An hour and half to two hours away from our house. There's a lot of restaurants in the seawall, and also a lot of places to visit, aside from the beach. Here are the places you could visit in Galveston: - Beach, of course :) - Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier - Moody Gardens (Pyramid looking amusement park with aquarium, and museum) - Moody Mansion - Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston (Year-round water amusement park)
