These are some of our favorite spots for activities adults & kids can enjoy within a few miles of the Bungalow! There is also a ton to do downtown Portland, but those things are much easier to learn about...if you want to stay closer to home & explore the east side of the river, you'll find lots of great things to do!

Every time we drive through the Columbia River Gorge, I am mesmerized by its natural beauty! Rock cliffs, waterfalls, rock formations in the river...there’s so much to take in. The biggest challenge is for the one driving to keep their eyes on the road! ;)

Travelling with kids
Much to see & do beyond NE Portland!
While we are partial to our neighborhood and Portland’s East side in particular, exploring the city’s center downtown is a must & is an easy bus or light rail ride away. Walk the boardwalk along the Willamette River, shop the eclectic local Saturday Market, explore Chinatown, eat at any of the amazing restaurants in the Pearl District, get lost in Portland’s famous Powell’s Books, visit the art museum, and trek up to Washington Park & wander the Oregon Zoo, the Hoyt Arboretum, the Japanese Gardens, the International Rose Gardens, and the 15 miles of forested trails surrounding it all.
