Drive here for big waves (at least for the east coast) in the summer, or a peaceful off-season walk.

Martha's Vineyard is 1 hour Nantucket is 1 1/2 Walk to the terminal from our house. Passenger ferry, great for day trips or short stays, or if you want to meander on foot around the islands. We do this many times a year and it is sooo easy! You will notice the parking lot is filled with out of state plates who have figured out the easiest way to get to the islands, too.

Great for a day trip! The fast ferry is more expensive than going to the Cape but it's much more convenient. Plenty to do here in OB: shop, swim, eat, play, people-watch.
