A popular summer route, 3,5 hours drive away. Manageable as a daytrip if you get up early and are in good physical condition. Demands some preparation and a bit of research. The 14 km hike can be done with kids but then count 9-10 hours at age 8 and above. We have done it as an overnight camping trip, we had the mountain and the early morning to ourselves.

At 2:30 min. away its the closest to a real famous Norwegian mountain from the Hytte. At 1883m you can either walk it (demanding) or take an interesting train ride inside the mountain to the top. Many hiking routes around.
