The best location for boutiques and design shops. Beware of touristy puffin shops! I especially recommend Yeoman, Kiosk, Mia, 16a and Hrím. For music check out Smekkleysa and 12 tónar. There's a lot more though. Start at the top (which is technically the bottom) and work your way down. Also check out Skólavörðustígur which leads up to Hallgrímskirkja (church). Some of the shops I've recommended are there. And if you get hungry there are plenty of restaurants and café's to choose from.
