Getting around
By bike
It’s easiest to transport by bike! Some rentals in the neighbourhood: SAM Tweewielen Service (Karel Klinkenbergstraat 10); Amsterdamse Fietsenwinkel (Postjesweg 106); Vélo rent (Hoofdweg 130). I would recommend SAM, it’s 5 min by foot and great service.
Getting around
By metro/tram/bus/ferry (city or airport)
The metro goes around the city, not ideal to go into town. Tram 13 (Adm. Helfrichstraat, 10 min walk) is close by and takes you into the city center / canals / Westerkerk / Dam square / Central Station. Bus 18 (Derkinderenstraat, 3 min walk) takes you to Central Station via West. You can buy a 24/48/72 hour pass for public transport, to be used on all types. The ferry is free. With metro 50/51 (Postjesweg, 8 min walk) you can easily get to stations such as Lelylaan, Sloterdijk, Zuid and RAI. For the airport: take metro 50/51 to Lelylaan (1 stop) and the direct train to Schiphol (7 min).
