Drinks & Nightlife

The views are stunning!! There are food options, the fine dinning restaurant, the bar or the low key bean bags on the lawn. The wine is very nice, with wine tasting a good option.

Being beach side it is beautiful, relaxing Kiwi style, with a colonial style tasting room and shared platters available and picnic blankets for the grass lawn. The perfect place to while away an after.

With stunning wines (some say the best on Waiheke Island) grows their own vegetables which are used in their award winning Italian restaurant. Aucklanders choose Poderi Crisci to celebrate special occasions. The Sunday Long Lunch is renowned for which bookings must be made, set aside four hours and enjoy! It is recommended that you book. Poderi Crisci also has a cellar door and seating in its gardens for another option.

Among the wines. It has a cellar door and also a great restaurant called The Shed, which is in laid back Kiwi style. On the bus route and in easy walking distance to Stoney Ridge and Tantalus Estate.

Loved for its more laidback vibe for wine tasting and casual food, which also has Auckland University’s wine of science project. This is the oldest vineyard on Waiheke Island.

Parks & Nature

The best beach is Palm Beach. Its a crescent of white sand and usually gentle waves (unless there is a Northerly). At the right end of the beach there are some picnic tables and a public BBQ available for use. At the middle of the beach (directly at the base of Tiri View Road) there is a great children’s playground, changing rooms, another public BBQ and picnic tables. At the left end of the beach there is a rocky outcrop (which can be walked around when the tide is low or climbed over) that leads to Little Palm Beach which is idyllic and often the water feels warmer than the beach at Palm Beach, being shallower. Little Palm Beach is clothes-optional. But don't let that phase you!

Attend a Hatha Yoga class at the Palm Beach Hall, which is run by Robyn Barrie. For something somewhat different and “new” the Palm Beach Hall also has a 5 rhythms class on a Friday night from 7.30 to 9pm, which is movement practice (no dance experience required).
