  • Wild berries and mushrooms picking tour
Lapland is the world’s largest contiguous area for picking organic berries and mushrooms. Wild berries and mushrooms can be freely picked in Finland's forests under everyman's right, but be careful which varieties you pick, as some berries and fungi are poisonous. But no worries, your experienced nature guide will help you determine eatable options. Besides being an adventure for the senses, a hike through the varied terrain amidst unspoiled nature is also the best possible exercise. The berries nurtured by the midnight sun are also healthy, and can be eaten just as they are when you find them. We take a ride to secret berries’ & mushrooms’ place to be ready to pick up these healthy gifts of nature. During our walk we fill up our baskets and of course taste some berries. We will have a break and taste some local snacks with coffee and juice. Trip is suitable also for families with children. The best picking season for most mushrooms and berries runs from late July to early October. Please note the tour operates in ALL weather conditions. Included: Hotel pickup & drop off, Professional naturalist guide, Snacks & beverages External Links

  • LAPPISH EVENING WITH DINNER
Experience the delightful culture of Finland during a traditional supper and sauna event. If you want to enjoy the most popular activity in Rovaniemi while travelling in northern Finland don't hesitate any longer. Our fancy sauna located at the majestic private lake and will give you a well-deserved lifetime experience. Upon arrival we will learn how to heat a Finnish sauna, usually this process takes about 60 minutes. You can also play fun outdoor games (snowshoes, aurora hunting, wilderness survival test) or put your fish catching skills to the test! A memorable addition will be swimming in the Arctic lake or unforgettable Snow-jumping activity after a warm sauna. The tradition of jumping into the snow or a cold lake after a hot sauna session may have even more benefits than a sauna session alone. The feeling of hunger is strong enough after truly “Lappish SPA procedures”, which is why you will have an amazing and traditional Blazed salmon dinner in a warm and cozy cottage, right near the fireplace.

  • AURORA SNOWSHOE ADVENTURE
The best way to see the northern lights is to be outside in beautiful unspoiled nature. I will take you there. With snowshoes we will go through untouched snow to find a perfect spot for aurora watching. We will make a fire and have some hot drinks to keep us warm. If the sky is clear and the aurora activity is high, you will have good chances to see northern lights. If it is cloudy more luck is involved. In any case this will be a wonderful adventure. I will also bring some sausages to grill and some cookies. I will pick you up at your Rovaniemi accommodation or at the meeting point and bring you to a forest area 15 to 30 km away from the city, according to the weather conditions. After the tour I will bring you back. During the tour you will get good understanding about going out to the nature where snow remains untouched. You will learn some basics about survival in the arctic woods, about life in the area and about reindeer herding and local Sami natives. You can ask more from topics you are interested. After the tour you will have better understanding about the life far North in the arctics. Other things to note The temperatures can be very low (under -25°C) so make sure to be dressed appropriately. It is very important to wear extra warm shoes. Remember : if your feet are tight you will feel cold. Please contact me if you are not sure of your equipment. I might have some to borrow.

  • Borealis Spotting and Fires at a Lake
Aah yes, the beautiful pictures of Aurora Borealis! The best that Lapland has to offer, the Northern Lights, right? Im going to be totally honest with you: To see the Borealis is all about luck. Thats why I want you to experience other great Lappish things; to have a good time for four hours with open fire, two different types of huts / wickets, traditional Lappish / Finnish food & treats, stories, lake views, the polar night, the surrounding nature and atmosphere. And if we are lucky, the skies are clear and the universe serves us right, the Borealis will add a final touch to our shared traditional Lappish experience in the winter nature. Heres what is going to happen: – I will pick you up at 18.00 sharp – A drive of about 20 kilometers away from the city´s light pollution. – A short walk through the night forrest to the lake – We start a fire in the hut. – Free hanging around the area, spotting the borealis ect. while I cook. – The Dinner – We can try to figure out do the Borealis really hum... – I will watch the borealis radar – If theres no Borealis by the lake, we head on top Ounasvaara for different views & change for Sledging – I will drop you off where you want Other things to note The car we use is a 2017 Dacia Duster 4x4. I have warm clothes & shoes to borrow but they are not the latest fashion.
