It’s a place that we love to visit with our family and close friends to escape busy city life. While we are not there, we love to invite guests on Airbnb to let themselves in and stay. We think it’s a fantastic getaway for independently-minded travellers who are looking for some peace and quiet, in the middle of the French countryside without distractions.

This totally independent unit benefits from a clear view of the surrounding countryside, its refined decoration calls for calm and rest. There are two bedrooms, each furnished with a hotel quality queen size bed.

Numerous activities are also possible in the surrounding area: walks on the towpath, bungee jumping at the Souleuvre Viaduct, Festyland Park in Caen and canoeing less than 1 km from the vacation rental.

Dating from the 18th century, this house was known to the whole village and even today many inhabitants remember having spent time there. The renovation focused on the enhancement of natural materials (wood, stone) by adding a modern side. Located halfway between Caen and Mont-Saint-Michel, in the southwest of Calvados, you will stay in a magnificent granite house (called the Bleu de Vire) from 1832 (classified as 3* furnished tourism). You will have access to almost the entire house as well as its beautiful one hectare garden, wooded and quiet, ideal for nature lovers.

A renovated old cider barn, with plenty of original character beams. A cosy lounge and well equipped kitchen are found on the ground floor. Access to the first floor is up a spiral stair case, leading to a large open bedroom and bathroom, plus a separate Sipper bath located on a small mezzanine.

Set in the heart of a flower-filled park with panoramic views, Château des Boulais, whose oldest parts date back to the 16th century, is ideally located for exploring both Mont Saint-Michel and the D-Day beaches, visiting Granville, or enjoying the sea and nearby golf courses.
