Green Haven is a 3-room homestay close to Mount Rinjani, nestled in the ricefields. We manage the homestay as a family so you are guaranteed an authentic experience. The area benefits from cooler weather thanks to the volcano and is close to waterfalls and monkey forest. You will love Green Haven Homestay because of the views, the people, the relaxing atmosphere, and the lush outdoors space. We welcome couples, solo adventurers and families.
“Makbul, his family, relatives and friends will provide a truely local experience at Green Haven. We stayed four nights and there was plenty to do in the area at very reasonable prices. Many of Makbul's family have better than average English so it makes it easier than usual to ask questions and have a good conversation. It was great to learn more about Islam and hear about how it is practiced today. We felt it appropriate to learn some of the basic indonesian greetings and I think this is appreciated. They really do want you to have a good experience and will go out of their way to arrange activities that you want to do. We would recommend doing the rice fields, waterfall and monkey forrest walk - it was fabulous. Some of the activities are definitely associated with the option to purchase products eg weaving, bamboo, coffee making and coconut experience however there is absolutely no pressure to buy anything and a small donation for the experience is fine. The accommdation is basic but fantastic value for the price. It is all very clean, western toilets, hot water showers and bug free. The accommodation units are close to each other and for us sufficiently private. If you wanted you could have all your meals in their two table warung which also doubles as a gathering point for family sitting on rugs and mats adjacent to the tables. We felt very comfortable in that setting with the option to have a conversation or not. There is the standard selection of delicious foods and a great selection of fruit juices. As for the 'call to pray' it happens at sun rise, noon, mid afternoon, sun set and around 730pm. The speakers are not close by but I used ear plugs and my wife just slept though the morning call. We found we got use to it and within no time it just became part of the local experience and it's also just part of respecting local practices. We highly recommend Green Haven to those who want to learn from a caring, local, Tetebatu family. Thanks Makbul for a wonderful stay. Kind regards, Mike”

“This place is exactly as described. No fuss, no luxury. Bed isn’t comfortable and you live with a local family. What you miss out on in terms of ammenities you get in terms of hospitality. The family is warm and welcoming. Such a beautiful experience to wake up and see all the neighbourhood children waiting to capture a glimpse of the visitors. The elderly couple spoke with their eyes and expressed gratitude and love. I left wishing I could speak the Language to be able to communicate with them directly. It was definitely an experience my partner and I will remember for the rest of our lives. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique experience. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable and luxurious place, this is not for you. If you’re seeking a true local experience, stay here. It’s not a selfie/social media destination but you will leave with a full heart.”

“Staying at Mu’s homestay is an absolute MUST if you are visiting Lombok! Not only will you get a comfy room set in a lush garden surrounded by fruits of all kinds, you will also get an incredible experience of the village and surroundings tailored to your interests and directly from the local perspective. My sister and I stayed for three nights and it was the highlight of our time in Lombok. What was most impressive and appreciated was the energy that Mu puts into connecting tourists with locals and ensuring that his tourism activities directly benefit his community. We’d highly recommend this place and are so thankful for all the people, Mu especially, who made our time in Tetebatu one to remember!”
